Do you remember Clipper Beach, last June,
when Jim and me and you and Dean brought out
a pile of blankets, quilted up a dune
with woolen patches?  Jim talked all about
his newest scheme--remember that?--to sell
new bathing suits with body work at Rand's.
And Dean just laughed and told him that was well,
and set his beer down, sank it in the sands,
'cause, yet again, Jim found a plan to lose
his money.  Dean reminded him to save,
he should know why, he said, and learn to choose;
he paused, then reached outside the quilt and gave
out sandwiches, and everybody knew,
we four were really one and one and two.
