The Sirens are seductive concepts who sing so beautifully of process and technology improvements that they lure developers captivated by their song to steer their projects and crash on unrealistic schedules. The two monsters that must be navigated between are legacy systems and unenlightened managers. One steals developers from new projects with hundreds of long tentacles; the other creates a whirling vortex which destroys projects. -- Diane Wilson | diane_w@ix.netcom.com | http://www.lava.net/~dewilson
