I think the bears migrate for the peyote every few
years, and then become caught up in the compacent
lifestyle the region affords them.  I've heard of
polar bears in Arizona that never escaped.  In Colorado,
several bears claimed to be homosexual in order to
be repatriated to the Northwest Territories.

Well, that's one mystery solved.  I'm sure the
bears would appreciate it if you gave them a
knowing smile and a few words of encouragement
next time you pass them by. Maybe whisper a
few things like "psst...seals." That should
cheer them up and help them to re-focus their
resolve to return to their native arctic habitat.
