The mouse sported a human ear squarely on its back -- a 
successful experiment in tissue growth.  Phillips admired
his work.  The cartilage was fully formed and properly
shaped, all having grown from a few implanted cells.

Back at his desk, Phillips got comfortable and dozed --
never a wise idea when pranksters like Kransky are around....

Two days later Phillips stormed into the lab, his face
purple with rage.  Student assistants tittered as he
stomped into Kransky's office, slamming the door.

"Say," smirked Kransky, "Is that a mouse growing on your
ear?"

"Shut up and give me a scalpel," growled Phillips.
