FLY-FISHIN'

I had just tied a beaut -- a dartling with green piping --
and I wanted to test it.  I packed up my tacklebox, 
pressurized my vacc suit, and headed for the Veng pools.

My favorite spot shelters under an outcropping, looking
down across Olympus Mons.  I watched for the silvery back
of Old Charlie -- my nemesis, as Veng go.  He's cunning,
even for a shark-eel.  He loves to bite through my lines.
Once he clipped my best fly, a purple tanglehook, and
wouldn't give it back unless I gave him some chicken.

But the dartling will fool him.  I know it.
