From: waldby@coewl.cen.uiuc.edu (waldby julian f) Newsgroups: talk.bizarre Subject: FTSD: unusual torture Date: 1 Dec 1998 17:37:33 GMT Organization: University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Lines: 42 Message-ID: <7419gt$br5$1@vixen.cso.uiuc.edu> I was at a party with Kremmler when he prepared to introduce me to another one of his strange friends. "This man suffered bizarre torture in the war," he told me, "He can no longer divulge any information." "Ah, so he was so stunned by the torture that he has blocked off all sensitive or need-to-know knowledge?" I asked. "No, I mean he can physically divulge no information, not his eye color, not his preferred malt beverage, and not his height." "Well, then how do you even know he is a man at all?" "There were apparently cameras in the torture room that the records were taken from, and we saw him before it began." "Let us go talk to him then." Kremmler and I approached the strange man, who gave no notice that he was aware of our approach. The man was sitting in a cushioned chair. Or so it would appear. "I say, sir, how are you this evening?" I asked him. "Fine", he said. "What does that mean?" I asked Kremmler. "It could mean anything from 'I have to go to the bathroom' to 'Pleased to meet you' to nothing at all." I chatted with the man all evening. I learned that he ran a mutual fund and had three children and liked to get away to the country when he was able. Or so it would appear. Julian -- "It's so easy to get bored." - Helmet
