While reading an issue of Screw magazine, Buddy is inspired to experiment with oral sex on Sam and the two spend the remainder of the film together in bed, alternating between cunnilingus, fingering and fellatio, despite Buddy's visibly and perpetually flaccid penis. Throughout these scenes, Buddy and Sam continually insult and argue over each other's sexual performance. Meanwhile, across town at Bat Pussy's Secret Warehouse Hideout, Bat Pussy's alter ego Dora Dildo awaits for her "super senses" to alert her to nearby trouble - the film's sole bit of narration explains that she can sense crime "when her twat begins to twitch". Angrily sensing that someone is about to "shoot a fuck movie" in her "holy Gotham City" without her, she proceeds to change into her Bat Pussy outfit and slowly travel across the city on an inflatable space hopper, stopping only to urinate behind some bushes and thwart an attempted rape or mugging by beating the attacker with her space hopper. Back at Buddy and Sam's, Buddy starts taking pictures of Sam's vagina to sell and "make a fortune" with when Bat Pussy breaks into their room and confronts them. They immediately engage in a threesome involving the use of a dildo until Bat Pussy suddenly puts on her costume and leaves, bringing the film to an abrupt end. ===== A man, who is having trouble scoring with his girlfriend, reads a book about sex and seduction to get some pointers. ===== Fatah, a modest, cheerful and optimistic Algerian peasant who has never left his country, dreams of taking his cow Jacqueline to the Paris International Agricultural Show. They rest and prepare for the journey to rescue their friends and the kidnapped ymbrynes. The group manages to narrow down where their friends may have been taken and, with the help of a boatsman named Sharon, they cross over a polluted river by the name of Fever Ditch to a dilapidated village corrupted with drugs and run by the wights (Devil's Acre). There Addison is captured, and Jacob and Emma are shocked to find many peculiar people who have become trapped there and, in some cases, have put themselves up for viewing and sale. The worst of these peculiars have also become addicted to a specific drug known as ambrosia, which is taken by being poured into the eyes and is supposed to imbue the taker with great physical strength. This has led to frequent fights and matches between peculiars and hollows, where the peculiars take the ambrosia to further augment their abilities. While trying to navigate their way around without being spotted, they are invited into a man's house to take cover. The man, Bentham, is revealed to be the one who caused the explosion in the Siberian tundra that created hollows and essentially wights (as told in the first book), and he is also Miss Peregrine's brother. To prove that he truly wants to help, he unveils secret information about the wights and helps Jacob and Emma get into the wights' building using a hollow Jacob rescued from a cage in the fighting ring. The pair sneak into the building and manage to evade capture, but they also stumble upon a hospital complex where many peculiars are having their peculiar souls drained, including Melina and the echolocators. The other peculiar children, however, are nowhere to be found. Emma and Jacob proceed to stop the draining operations, and successfully find their friends in a basement cell and free them, save for Fiona who had supposedly died when the hollows and wights invaded the loop where the peculiar menagerie were living. With no time to mourn, the group come across the room where all the ymbrynes are being kept, but Caul already knows that Jacob and Emma are here. He then threatens to release a whole horde of hollows into the room with them and the ymbrynes unless Jacob is willing to use his ability to help him find the soul jars hidden in the legendary Library of Souls - a place where it was rumored peculiars kept their souls after their death for others to borrow later, but was later cut off from the rest of peculiardom after a horrible war that was also responsible for scattering peculiars across the world. Despite that, Jacob does not give in to Caul's demands and instead uses his ability to control the hollows. The group then frees Miss Peregrine and the rest of the trapped ymbrynes and fight their way through the building. The peculiar children manage to keep up a good fight, but in the end are betrayed by Bentham, who wanted nothing more than to prove he could do some good for Miss Peregrine after she banished him, but sought revenge after she refused to forgive him. Caul takes the rest of the peculiars and ymbrynes hostage and forces them along with him to the Library of Souls, which Caul had managed to successfully rediscover. Here it is discovered that like his grandfather before him, Jacob is the only one who can see the soul jars hidden within the library. With Caul holding his friends hostage, Jacob obediently procures the most powerful soul jars for Caul and his brother, with the other wights dying because of ingesting the souls like ambrosia and not pouring them into a well where the souls can successfully bond with the user. Miss Peregrine's brothers grow into gigantic monsters who eventually end up dueling each other, but thanks to a recipe given to Jacob by Bentham that's used by the ymbrynes as the fight goes on, the library collapses in on Caul and Bentham. With the help of Miss Peregrine and Emma following along with them, Jacob returns to his home, where his parents and a new psychiatrist are waiting for him, wanting to know what happened. Miss Peregrine and Emma tell them what happened before Miss Peregrine makes them forget, for the time being, everything that had just been told to them. Jacob and Emma decide to keep a regular correspondence with each other, but this later fails as his parents find a few of Emma's letters and assume Jacob wrote them to himself. They decide to send him to a mental asylum, but on the night they're supposed to leave, Miss Peregrine and her peculiar children come and visit Jacob, affirming his insistence to his shocked parents that the peculiars are indeed real. It is also revealed that, because of the loop closing around them, the internal time clocks of the peculiars have been restored so that they no longer have to worry about the years they've lived in loops catching up to them - they age like regular human beings while being in the present. Closing the book, Emma and Jacob decide to keep being friends for the time being before taking things slow in properly restarting their romantic relationship, now that they have time enough to do so. ===== OSS agent, working with the French underground, ambushes Nazi convoy with high-ranking general, who escape. After phoning his sister as Hector asks, Derek tells him she will not see him, offering to take him to the station and offering him money which Hector refuses. Derek says London, but ignores the request and tells Hector not to come back. Hector accepts, but awakes to find Dougie has died. Hazel runs away, leaving Hector to deal with the police. Hector asks Sara to help him trace his brother and she gives him internet access. Hazel turns up and Hector calms her down while Sara gets her into a woman's shelter. Peter tracks down Hector at the shelter, and tells him he has visited several shelters looking for him, after he called their sister to wish her Merry Christmas and Derek told him about Hector's plans. Peter asks Hector how he lives. Hector says that he was helped by a social worker to claim his benefits, whilst travelling. Peter offers to see more of Hector over Christmas, but Hector says that his fellow homeless are his family now. When he sees Sara later, he tells her he never fell out with Peter, but ‘fell out with life’. He revealed he had been sectioned and left his old life behind following a stint in a halfway house. After a day's shopping, Hector feels unwell. He tells Sara that his wife and daughter were killed on this day, Christmas Eve, by a drunk driver. The following day, Hector enjoys his Christmas dinner with friends. Peter returns and takes him to meet Lizzie and Derek nearby. Hector tells Lizzie, who had rebuked him for his lack of contact, he blamed himself for his family's deaths as they had left after a row. The shelter empties, and Sara says she hopes to see him next year. He tells her that he's going to stay with his sister for a while, and the plan is to have a family Christmas. Sara gives him new shoes, and tells him to look after himself. Hector hitch-hikes back up north for his operation. ===== The film starts with the death of Aveer's father while trying to save a kid from a truck accident. Practical Pig warns his brothers to build their house with "War Savings Certificate" bricks so that the house will be a solid defence against the marauding Wolf. Fifer and Fiddler ignore him and continue to play, singing "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?". As they are singing, the Big Bad Wolf in Nazi swastika regalia attacks the two spendthrifts and blows Fifer's straw house down. Fifer manages to escape and hides at Fiddler's stick house but the Wolf also blows it down. The two pigs run and hide at Practical's brick house. The Wolf then tries to blow down the strong brick house (losing his clothing in the process) but is unable to make much progress, as the bricks have made a strong foundation. Finally, Practical Pig chases the wolf away in a flurry of bricks that unerringly hit the Nazi marauder in his rear. The three pigs then sing "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" but with the caution that their house has to be in order to keep the wolf away. A pastiche of war scenes follows, each of which ends with a message (such as an aircraft shooting out the message "Invest in Victory"). Other messages show the importance of spending less as well as lending savings to create the weapons of war. They recommend purchasing war savings certificates, which are sold in a "Five for Four" arrangement, ===== Patricia (Betty Vergès) is a young woman from a wealthy family in Greece who is bound to Munich for college. The government requires that everyone receive an ocular implant that records everything they see. The implant simultaneously provides an augmented-reality heads-up display to the user for anybody they may see. Information ranging from basic social media biography information to private information for higher-level law enforcement to access. Sal Friedland (Owen) is a detective with the metropolitan police force. With the ocular implants and the ability for law enforcement to recall a visual record of the events in question, investigations into crimes amount to the assigned detectives reviewing the video and assessing whether the alleged perpetrator is innocent or guilty. One day Sal crosses paths with a girl (Seyfried) who appears to trigger a glitch in his ocular implant, as no data about her is retrieved. When he reviews his own record of his encounter with her, she is noticeably absent from the recording. Later at work, Sal is handed several homicide cases which all seem to be related due to the fact that the victim’s own visual records of their deaths are each replaced with the record of the killer, showing his or her point of view and thus not revealing their identity. The detectives eventually uncover that all the victims hired someone with the expertise to delete pieces of their visual records that they felt were either humiliating or incriminating. This “Anon” goes on to erase these unwanted records from these clients' visual records once their business is complete. Determining that the mysterious girl Sal encountered earlier clearly has the abilities to manipulate the system in such a way, she becomes their primary suspect. Sal goes undercover, creating a false history as a stockbroker who engages in a brief affair with a prostitute. Using this as the pretext for her services, he makes contact with the girl hoping to have his encounter with the prostitute deleted. With his team on standby in the adjacent apartment, the initial plan to apprehend her fails when she successfully covers her tracks. Throughout this process, Sal and the girl begin to develop a personal relationship which culminates in passionate lovemaking. During the second sting attempt made later, the girl discovered Sal's true identity and flees. One of Sal’s colleagues is killed in the process, seemingly by her. The girl seemingly harasses Sal due to the betrayal, tormenting him with his worst memories, and causing him to see a raging fire in the building. He then pulls his gun and fires a shot, when the hacker suddenly removes the illusion, Sal realizes he has shot wildly at an empty corridor, scaring his neighbor. He’s confronted by his superiors after his neighbor turns up dead, and they don't accept his explanation. This results in him taking a mandatory break from duty. Despite the mandatory break , Sal breaks his house arrest and goes after the girl hacker. After tracking her down to her apartment, Sal admits that she’s being investigated for multiple murders. The girl reveals that she already knows because she’s being framed by another hacker with a similar skillset. She shows Sal her video record the night of the second sting operation in which his coworker was killed, proving that she’s innocent. After showing her records, she flees again. Believing Sal has become personally involved, his superiors remove him from the investigation and suspend him from active duty. While suspended, the killer attempts to murder Sal in his apartment, revealing himself to be one of the technical experts from the police department, Cyrus (O’Brien). During the course of a physical altercation between Cyrus and the girl, Sal draws his weapon, but realizes that Cyrus is seeing what he sees in real-time. In order to defeat this advantage, Sal is forced to fire blindly in the direction of Sal and the girl, successfully wounding Cyrus. After following Cyrus and the girl into the hallway, Sal takes another blind shot, this time fatally wounding Cyrus. The girl walks away, later revealing to Sal that she’s able to bypass the vast intelligence network by disseminating her code throughout everyone else in the network, rendering her untraceable. ===== ===== In 1942, Mickey Mouse, conducting his band on a moving bandwagon, leads a parade marching through the streets of Ottawa, past the Canadian Parliament Buildings. In order, Pinocchio, Geppetto, Figaro, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey, and Louie Duck, and Pluto carry banners with messages such as "All together for war savings" and "5 for 4." Mickey Mouse motors by in a motorized float, conducting a band which includes Horace Horsecollar, Clarabelle Cow and Goofy, who plays the tuba and clarinet and a concertina, between his knees. The Seven Dwarfs follow with signs indicating, "All-Together-For-War-Savings" but with Dopey typically doing things in a clumsy, confused way, for slapstick effect. Overhead and in other scenes, war machines punctuate the message to "Keep your money fighting till victory is won". ===== In this story's alternate universe, Barry Allen was the only ever costumed hero in existence as the Flash. He becomes a quadriplegic after saving JFK from assassination by taking a bullet in the spine. Although his body is permanently disabled, his brilliant, accelerated mind has created futuristic technologies such as intergalactic travel via sub-space drive and matter teleportation. A mission to Mars, funded by Barry's company, has uncovered a strange artifact. The energies released by the artifact have accelerated astronaut/space scientist Wally West—nephew to Barry via his marriage to Iris West—in a similar fashion to the accident that made Barry the Flash. The energies have also put Wally into a coma. Barry brings Wally to Immortality Inc.--run by fellow scientist Vandal Savage—in an attempt to cure Wally. But Wally's fellow astronaut James Jesse has stolen the artifact to give to Savage, and Vandal's machinations have focused on trying to clone Wally rather than cure him, resulting in Wally's death. To make matters worse, Barry's mind is consumed with his past accomplishments as the Flash, as well as "memories" of another reality where he was part of a team of superheroes, including other speedsters. Barry begins to question his own sanity as events begin to unfold far from his control. One of Wally's clones has survived and escaped Savage's company, believing itself to be the real Wally. Barry, in a desperate attempt to save his "nephew", lures Wally to him and transports them both to his sub-space vessel Odysseus. Barry drains the clone's speed energy into his chair, which passes into him. The energy causes his body to regenerate, and Barry is slowly regaining his mobility. Re-energized but still not at full strength, Barry confronts Savage, who now possesses the artifact. Savage activates the artifact, releasing strange energies that strike Barry before he can prevent it. As Barry is accelerated by the energy, he disappears into his "imagined" reality. Under orders from President Kennedy, a sniper shoots Savage in the head, killing him instantly. Barry is believed dead—killed by Savage's use of the artifact—and mourned in his reality. But in truth, he lives again as the Flash in a new reality, surrounded by family and friends—many of them with their own super powers. ===== Irem and Barbara are a young Italian couple on vacation in Sicily when they meet and are invited by a married and wealthy older couple, named Giorgio and Silvia, onboard a yacht owned by Giorgio for a weekend of sailing and carefree time. His guardian angel immediately propels Donald out of his complacency and urges him to get his piggy bank out to buy war savings certificates that will ensure the Allied Powers's victory. On hearing this plea, Donald's other side, a demonic version lurking in a mailbox, that features a swastika created by the spinning mail semaphore, challenges his angel, telling Donald to "have a good time and spend his money on himself." When the angelic side argues that "everyone must do his share", the devil "blitzes" the angel and boots Donald's good side into the nearby lake. Furious, Donald's angel storms into the sky and dive-bombs the evil devil, sending him to an early grave like in the original Donald's Better Self. Steering Donald on his rightful path to the post office, the angelic side makes Donald buy his war savings certificates. Immediately, a series of posters and war messages reinforce the message to "Invest in Victory". ===== The narrator, a brilliant, arrogant scientist named Palmer, is one of four experts on the ship, each of whom believe they know how to defeat the Barrier. Although it is easy to enter the space inside, a missile defense system will destroy any object that enters, and any object that attempts to leave the space within the Barrier is destroyed by the Barrier itself, which turns part of the object into anti-matter. Besides the experts, there is the skipper, Captain Steev, Virginia, the CG or "crew's girl", and Blum, a small, slightly deformed man who has the job of "utility monkey", which means all the menial jobs. Despite her assignment of providing "comfort" to the men on board, Virginia is withdrawn and uncommunicative. She has an unusual talent for repeating what the men say in a way that makes them disbelieve their own words. Over the progress of the voyage Virginia is largely ignored by the men, but Blum falls in love with her. On reaching the Barrier, Captain Steev invites the experts to present their plans to the rest of the crew and passengers. When they do this, he demolishes their arguments in a way that humiliates them. They wonder why they came to the Barrier at all, if they cannot hope to breach it. One morning Palmer awakes to find the ship running on emergency power. Blum is desperately searching for Virginia. Steev shows them that a ship's pod has arrived inside the Barrier and all the defense systems have been disabled. He tells them that Virginia is in the pod, which is approaching the control center on an asteroid. She is the reason that the systems are down and the defenses have failed. The plan was to use Virginia's psychic ability, which he calls the "doubt field" to neutralize the "cold fusion" reactors that run both the ship and the Barrier controls. Virginia's power of disbelief is such that it can affect some nuclear processes. Humiliating the experts was part of the process of preparing her to disbelieve science itself. All the Captain had to do was put her in the pod with materials explaining how the cold fusion process works. The pod would then arrive at the asteroid, burrow into its surface, and set off a thermonuclear bomb, killing Virginia as well as destroying the Barrier. The plan appears to succeed, but as they attempt to leave the ship shuts down again. It seems that Blum's grief over Virginia has induced a lack of faith powerful enough to stop the reactor. Steev is ready to kill Blum, but they find Virginia safe in the airlock. Before the pod exploded, the race that built the barrier contacted her and told her how to use a spacesuit and jet pack to get clear. The experience taught her to believe in something, and the ship functions again. ===== Gordon (Ben McKenzie) leads a raid into Ace Chemicals, the company that Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow) uses for his weapon supplies. Inside the factory, they discover multiple frozen cops, a guard was kidnapped by Fries and a canister is missing with a message reading "free my wife", carved in a wall. At Wayne Manor, Bruce (David Mazouz) is visited by Lee (Morena Baccarin) where she tries to help him with his trauma after his assassination attempt, but Bruce reveals he felt alive and plans on continuing to try to find his parents' murderer. In the GCPD, Barnes (Michael Chiklis) learns that Nora's (Kristen Hager) health has worsened. Realizing hospital general population would be dangerous for civilians as Fries would try to rescue her, he decides to transfer her to the Arkham Asylum hospital and use her as bait. Dr. Strange (B. D. Wong) is notified of this by Ethel Peabody (Tonya Pinkins) and decides to use this as a way to recruit Fries for Indian Hill. Fries finds out about Nora's transfer and while discussing it with the bound and gagged kidnapped guard, he throws a device in the ocean, causing it to freeze. Meanwhile, Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor) is used for experimentation in Arkham Asylum and then wakes to find himself playing a recreational game with the other inmates. The GCPD arrive and close down Arkham to stop Fries from entering. Gordon runs into Cobblepot as he's dragged away and ignores his pleas for help, which makes Cobblepot shout Gordon was the one who killed Galavan, something that is witnessed by Strange. Lee takes Nora to the hospital ward, where she discovers a comatose Barbara (Erin Richards). In Wayne Manor, Bruce is confronted by Alfred (Sean Pertwee) for his methods and is finally given the information of the man who killed his parents: Patrick "Matches" Malone. He plans on finding him and killing him, but Alfred makes him promise that, come the time, he'll let Alfred kill him. Selina (Camren Bicondova) later visits him and Bruce wants her to get him a gun to kill Malone. Fries sends a man with frozen limbs to drive a bus into Arkham so he can break through a wall in a new suit while the police are distracted. Gordon, Bullock (Donal Logue) and the Strike Force charge through the hallways, but Strange closes multiple gates, but Gordon slips through in enough time to reach the hospital ward. Fries encounters the electroshock chair room and Strange talks to him through a monitor, stating that he will give him a car so he and Nora can escape if Fries leaves a cryogenic cartridge. He leaves behind a cartridge and takes the keys to the car. Fries arrives at the hospital ward and makes Lee assist Nora and leave with him, before trapping Gordon in a closet. He then escapes with them to his home. In the basement, Nora urges Lee to realize Fries is not a bad man and feeling guilt for not stopping him earlier, Nora, unknown to Lee, changes the cartridge from Fries' gun to one of the earlier, faulty cartridges. Fries then finally freezes Nora, but the process unfortunately tears her apart. Discovering that Nora changed the cartridge, he lets Lee go and decides to commit suicide by freezing himself to death. His body is transferred to Arkham Asylum, and although reported as "dead", he wakes up in a room with bright white hair and blue eyes. Strange visits him, stating the room is designed to accommodate his severe hypothermia so he can survive, otherwise he would die as any temperature above freezing will cause him to overheat. Strange guesses that Fries absorbed multiple doses of formula as he worked on them, and his cells underwent a change when he tried to kill himself. He also tells him they designed a new suit for him and that they would begin work later. Strange later passes a room filled with multiple corpses in tanks, including Theo Galavan, Jerome Valeska, and Fish Mooney. ===== The novel details a year in the life of its teenage protagonist Charles Fox. Terry has flashed back to his boyhood and his original meeting with Katherine as a young girl when her parents came to the home one winter. He remembers going with Katherine and her father, a former professional football player, to deliver Christmas presents to hospitalised children, something her father did every year, until this night—after the deliveries, her father's car skidded on an icy road and inadvertently killed a mother and her child. Though police ruled it an accident and planned not to pursue charges, Katherine's father disappeared completely. Terry also discovers his own father kept many pictures of their little family for years after his mother died. When he meets Katherine again, Terry is taken by her warmth and her blind daughter's love of life, and learns her long lost father isn't dead as his brother (Gordon Pinsent) made known but, rather, alive and homeless, after having worked many years at the hospital where he still donated Christmas presents annually to children there. Standing against the mass of workers is a racially motivated police force, the State Militia, Samuel Gompers and the American Federation of Labor, the U. S. Flashbacks to the previous day depict the events which led to the agents' imprisonment. Following the events of "The Inside Man", Malick's plane lands in Siberia, and Morse and Hunter pursue him and Petrov to an abandoned facility they intend to repurpose into the Inhuman sanctuary, which has been banned by the Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Olshenko. May, Daisy and Mack join Hunter and Morse, and the five of them infiltrate the facility, discovering the dead body of Olshenko's personal attaché. Cabinet ministers opposed to Olshenko arrive to meet with Malick and Petrov, who reveal that the attaché was murdered by General Androvich, the Minister of Defence, revealed to be an Inhuman who can manifest and control living shadows made of Darkforce. Malick suggests they have Androvich assassinate Olshenko, who soon arrives looking for his missing attaché. Malick departs, leaving Androvich to make his assassination attempt, but the SHIELD team causes a distraction, and Hunter rescues Olshenko and kills Petrov. Androvich unleashes a Darkforce shadow, which subdues Daisy and Mack before attacking Olshenko and Hunter, but it dissipates when Morse kills Androvich, after which she and Hunter are arrested by Olshenko's bodyguards while the other agents escape. In the present, Morse and Hunter deny their involvement with SHIELD, claiming they were on vacation and became caught up in events by accident, sticking to their story even when Coulson offers to extract them, as they are determined to protect their friends and prevent war. Insisting SHIELD no longer exists, President Ellis and Coulson (posing as an ATCU consultant) convince Olshenko not to execute Morse and Hunter, on the condition that they never work for the US government again. Morse and Hunter are released, but can have no further contact with SHIELD. The couple debate what to do next in a bar, aware they will be followed by both US and Russian agents. Mack, who is in the area visiting his brother Ruben, reluctantly leaves and joins Daisy and Fitz to investigate, and they inform Coulson of the use of nitramene, leading him to suspect the Watchdogs are being led by former SHIELD agent Felix Blake, who tried to improve nitramene weaponry in the past. Ruben was recently made redundant and is struggling financially, blaming the government for his problems and sympathising with the Watchdogs. Trying to track down Andrew, May enlists Simmons, who suggests that as Andrew is becoming more animalistic, he is running on base instincts and not his usual desires. She also advises against May's intended plan to kill Andrew, believing they can still devise a cure for Terrigenesis before he becomes Lash permanently. Tracing the Watchdogs' online activity, Daisy and Fitz track down one of their non-radical members and coerce him into revealing the location of the Watchdogs' local headquarters, at a farm. Daisy, Fitz and Mack spy on the farm, but Ruben arrives, intending to apologise to Mack, and blows their cover, forcing the agents to defend him from Watchdogs. In the ensuing fight Fitz is shot with a nitramene gel projectile, but Daisy stops the implosion by freezing the gel with liquid nitrogen. Following Ruben home, Mack admits he works for SHIELD. They are attacked by five Watchdogs, who saw Daisy's powers in use at the farm but believed Mack to be the Inhuman. The brothers work together to defend themselves, killing their attackers. Meanwhile, Coulson and Lincoln search one of Blake's old safe houses and find him there. Blake espouses his hatred of Inhumans and his belief that SHIELD will always use dangerous alien elements to spread terror, and Lincoln reluctantly tries to kill him with Coulson's permission, only to find 'Blake' is a hologram. The team later learn that the Watchdogs were directed to the ATCU facility by Malick, and destroyed the building to cover up the theft of a nuclear weapon, which Blake (a paraplegic after being attacked by Mike Peterson) delivers to Giyera in exchange for more powerful weapons. ===== The two-part episode is about the 16 December 2012 incident, the day when in a moving bus, a 23-year-old physiotherapy intern was brutally raped by six people, including a juvenile. Paul and Audrey Safranek, a married couple in Omaha with financial problems, meet Dave and Carol Johnson, who have downsized. While the inventors advocate that downsizing is environmentally friendly through the reduction of waste, Dave argues that its benefits extend far beyond that and improve one's life through the increase in value of their money. Exploring the possibilities of downsizing, Paul and Audrey agree to undergo the process and move to Leisureland, New Mexico, one of the most popular communities for small individuals. After undergoing downsizing, Paul receives a call from Audrey, saying that she was unable to go through with the procedure and, by opting out at the last minute, will be leaving him. One year later, Paul finalizes the divorce with Audrey, and settles in to his new apartment (a downsizing of its own from the mansion he was to originally share with Audrey). Although Paul had anticipated a life of relative ease, the divorce left him without Audrey's share of their assets. In addition, Paul's share of the assets shrank further still due to divorce settlement negotiations. Paul, whose occupational therapist license had lapsed and faced a re-certification process due to Leisureland being in another state, now works as a customer service representative for Lands' End. While attending a birthday party, Paul has a discussion with Dave and says that he regrets his decision to downsize. Soon after, Paul breaks up with his girlfriend and attends a party hosted by his neighbor Dušan. Ngoc Lan was the sole survivor of a human smuggling attempt to the United States in a television box and had her leg amputated upon arrival. Attempting to assist Ngoc Lan with her prosthetic leg, Paul returns to her house in the slums outside of the walls of Leisureland. After assisting Ngoc Lan's dying friend, Paul attempts to repair Ngoc Lan's prosthetic leg only to break it and render her unable to work. In return, Paul works for Ngoc Lan's cleaning service where he also assists in gathering food from around the city that Ngoc Lan distributes throughout the slums. Dušan attempts to release Paul from his obligation by taking him to Norway, the site of the first small community, with his friend Joris Konrad, but Ngoc Lan also wishes to come along. Ngoc Lan had received international attention after her arrival in the United States, including personal correspondence from the inventor of downsizing, Dr. Jørgen Asbjørnsen, who had previously invited her to Norway to express his regret at the abuse of his procedure. While traveling in a fjord, Dušan's yacht encounters Dr. Asbjørnsen and his wife, Anne-Helene. Dr. Asbjørnsen announces that humanity is doomed, as the positive feedback of Arctic methane emissions cannot be stopped, and will result in the eventual extinction of the human race. Arriving in the first colony, Paul is shown that Dr. Asbjørnsen planned for such a contingency with the creation of a large vault inside a mountain to insulate the colony and preserve humanity in the event of an extinction. Paul is excited to enter the vault and asks Ngoc Lan to join him. She rejects his offer, saying that he does not need to enter the vault and can do good in their community by returning. Paul enters the vault, but changes his mind and leaves as the door is closing and subsequently the stone above blasted to seal the occupants inside, choosing to return with Ngoc Lan, Dušan, and Konrad. Having returned to Leisureland, Paul assists Ngoc Lan in her duties of providing needed aid and supplies to the people of the slums. ===== 50-year-old Liang Le Kun (Terence Cao) decides to retire as he has sufficient savings and his only son Liang Yong Xi (Shane Pow) has grown up. Danny has a younger sister, Jean, and they have a younger half-brother, Matthew. Danny is close to his daughter, Eliza, who is starting college at Bard as a film student. Eliza shows one of her sexually provocative films to her family, who try hard not to show they are taken aback and instead compliment its energy and production values. Some of Harold's work has been selected as part of a faculty group show at Bard, but Harold refuses to be part of a group show. Danny and Harold attend the MoMA retrospective of a friend and contemporary of Harold's, the more successful L.J. Shapiro. There neither father nor son feels comfortable; Harold is stung by signs that the art world has forgotten him and chooses to literally run away down the street. Danny meets Shapiro's daughter, his childhood friend Loretta, but is forced to leave to chase after Harold. Harold's younger son Matthew, a successful financial advisor to rock stars on the other side of the continent in Los Angeles, is in New York on business and meets Harold for lunch with an accountant friend. They try to counsel Harold to sell his Manhattan home and the sculpture stored there, since Harold and Maureen can barely pay the townhouse's utilities. Harold tells them that whether to sell the house will be a private family decision and stalks out. At a third restaurant he criticizes the prices, but orders lavishly once Matthew says he'll pay. Soon he decides he has been insulted and robbed as well, and the rapidly regressing Matthew is inveigled into another scene involving running, chasing and embarrassment. The two bond slightly in self-righteous indignation. That evening they pay a visit to Matthew's mother, Harold's second wife Julia, who has since married a man named Cody, a wealthy philistine. Julia tells Harold and Matthew that she is sorry she was not a better mother to Harold's three children; her directness makes them very uncomfortable and they can't leave fast enough. Matthew resents Harold for his preference for a life of art over money. "I beat you!", he screams at his father's departing Volvo. Harold is diagnosed with a chronic subdural hematoma. He enters hospital, where as the days pass his children learn to manage his care themselves, after first leaning on Harold's doctor and nurse to take that responsibility. Outside the hospital Jean tells her brothers that the family friend who happens to be visiting Harold at the moment exposed himself and masturbated in front of her when she was a child. Matthew and Danny let her walk away from them, then attack the friend's car with mounting exhilaration. At Bard to represent their father at the faculty group show, Matthew and Danny get into a fight, of sorts, on the quad; later, bloody and crying, each makes drug-addled remarks in Harold's place, mostly about themselves, Matthew ends up breaking down emotionally during his speech. As Harold convalesces at Maureen's place in the country (the townhouse having been sold, despite Matthew's change of heart), it dawns on Matthew and Harold that Harold's favorite sculpture "Matthew", a lifelong object of resentment for Danny and Jean, was probably based on his feelings for the child Danny. Danny, who up to now has been solicitous toward his father, refuses to care for him while Maureen is away and accepts his brother's offer of a trip to California, but he forgives him for his past failures as a dad. On the way to the plane he meets Loretta, now single, and she suggests they go together to the screening of a film Eliza has made. In the basement of the Whitney Eliza uncovers the sculpture lent by her grandfather, long believed to have been lost. ===== The protagonist, a likeable American cowboy (Antony) in Edo-period 19th- Century Japan, becomes trapped in the middle of the strife between two feuding aristocratic Japanese families. In late summer 1963, affluent, college-bound Frances visits Kellerman’s resort with her family and falls in love with working-class dance instructor Johnny Castle. Feeling alienated by Jake's lack of attention and affection, despite her active efforts to engage him, Marjorie contacts a divorce lawyer and suggests she and Jake live apart. As Kellerman's is where Marjorie and Jake met and fell in love, Jake romances Marjorie and they have sex, reconciling. * The role of Vivian Pressman is also expanded; now a divorcee who visits Kellerman's alone, she tells Marjorie of her intense loneliness at night. When Johnny is accused of theft, the stolen property is no longer Vivian's ex-husband's wallet, but instead his watch, which Johnny earlier rejected as a gift and which Vivian apparently planted among his belongings. * Lisa rejects Robbie much earlier in the film. She befriends a new character, Marco, the resort's African-American pianist. Over his boss Tito's objections, Marco teaches Lisa to play the ukulele and performs with her in the talent show. Tito and Max acknowledge that the world is changing for the better. A frame story is added. A new rebellion has risen in the Tiers kingdom of Apex, in the region of Vendrien's Well, and Kyros has grown angry with her armies' failure to quell it. The Fatebinder is dispatched to Vendrien's Well to resolve the bickering generals' disputes and end the siege of the rebel fortress, or every living thing in that region will be destroyed by one of Kyros' Edicts, a form of magical superweapon and one of the few ways Kyros directly enforces order throughout the realm. Working together with Graven Ashe, Archon of War and leader of the Disfavored, and the Voices of Nerat, Archon of Secrets and leader of the Scarlet Chorus, the Fatebinder fights their way through the rebel forces to reach their fortress of Ascension Hall. When the time comes to assault the fortress, however, the feud between the two Archons climaxes - after the Fatebinder chooses one of the two armies to lead the assault, the other declares war on the opposing army in outrage. Despite this sudden conflict, the Fatebinder penetrates Ascension Hall and ends the siege with the help of their chosen army. Alternatively the Fatebinder could have secretly allied themselves with the rebels and betrayed both Archons. However, after fulfilling the terms of the Edict and ending the siege, the diffused magic alters the Fatebinder in unforeseen ways. The Fatebinder finds themselves absorbing the power of Kyros' Edict and transported to the summit of the Mountain Spire, the monolithic ancient tower at the centre of Ascension Hall and one of many Spires that dot the Tiers and Northern Empire. The Fatebinder is the first person in recorded history to do so, causing much debate in Imperial and Tiersman circles. Meanwhile the feud between Ashe and Nerat boils over into a fullscale civil war, the 'War of Archons', with the Disfavored and Scarlet Chorus battling for control of the Tiers. Tunon summons the Fatebinder to his court in the Bastard City to account for their actions and tasks them with investigating both Archons for treason, as this civil war has jeopardized the pacification of the region. Allying themselves with one of the armies in the war, or neither and following their own path or fighting for the rebels, the Fatebinder sets out to discover the nature of their newfound power and their connection with the Spires, claiming new Spires and growing in power along the way. In the process of aiding in the war effort for either side, or acting to help the people of the Tiers or advance their own power, the Fatebinder finds themselves ending the three remaining Edicts of Kyros in the Tiers and absorbing their power. By killing the newborn Regent of Stalwart, or exploiting an ancient legal loophole renouncing her claims to the throne, the Fatebinder ends the Edict of Storms that had ravaged the Blade Grave. By destroying or claiming for themselves the Silent Archive of the Sages from the Burning Library, the Fatebinder ends the Edict of Fire. By killing the petrified Archon of Stone, Cairn, either by releasing his power in a pulse that made the land unlivable or by a safer method, the Fatebinder ends the Edict of Stone in the Stone Sea. Once these have been completed, enemy forces attack the Fatebinder's original Spire at Vendrien's Well. In order to defeat the enemy, the Fatebinder channels their new power into the resonator atop the Spire, casting their own Edict without Kyros - implying that Kyros' own power may have originated from the Spires. The Fatebinder's Edict breaks the enemy army, but new threats emerge. The fact that anyone other than the Overlord could cast an Edict spreads fear and awe across the world and the Fatebinder is now officially recognized by Kyros as an Archon - some ever whisper the possibility of a new Overlord. Kyros decrees that only one Archon in the Tiers may rule the territory and orders them to fight to the death or swear loyalty. Additionally, Tunon summons the Fatebinder to court once more, Bleden Mark, Archon of Shadows, makes plans to assassinate the Fatebinder, and Kyros silently dispatches additional armies under Pox, Archon of Ruin, to wipe out the remaining combatants. The Fatebinder can kill Ashe, Nerat and Bleden Mark individually or travel at once to Tunon's court to face justice. At the court the Fatebinder must first present their evidence for the guilt of one or both of the Archons - a guilty verdict results in their execution by Bleden Mark, if he still lives. The second court case is the Fatebinders, pleading the case for their treasonous actions in the Tiers. If the player successfully argues their case Tunon will declare the Fatebinder a greater servant of law and order than Kyros and pledge his fealty. Bleden Mark, if he still lives and has not been turned to the Fatebinder's cause, then attempts to kill the Fatebinder in Kyros' name. If the Fatebinder fails to convince Tunon, both he and Mark (if still alive) must be fought and killed. With all opposition in the Tiers defeated or in their service, it is uncovered that Kyros is sending another army to retake the Tiers from whatever Archon is left and the Fatebinder must either surrender or retaliate by casting an Edict on Kyros' capital. If the Fatebinder casts the edict then Imperial Throne is devastated and thousands begin to doubt the Empire's power and flock to the Fatebinder's banner as a new Overlord. Pox's armies are given the order to retreat - a first for Kyros - and reinforce order as rebellions arise at home. If the Fatebinder surrenders and declares their loyalty for Kyros then Kyros accepts the surrender and pulls the armies back, allowing the Fatebinder to rule over the tiers as an Archon for the time being. The Fatebinder ponders on the future of the Tiers and the Empire as the game ends. ===== A wealthy socialite invites a carnival sideshow performer named Count Merlin to entertain her guests at a party. The police arrive, with DCP Suraj, revealed to be a corrupt cop who got Thiru embroiled in this problem, and arrest Raghu. Kuberan, in the meantime, arrives after finding Lekha's location and takes Lekha and Mythili away. Saved by the keychain, Raghu discovers a table which has a keyhole that matches with the key Thiru had given him (the keychain was actually a key) and opens it. He finds a hard drive and a laptop inside which reveals illegal arms dealings done by many influential people. He then calls Kuberan and arranges a meeting to give the hard disk. The police arrive as well and Raghu shoots all of them dead. Thiru's name is finally cleared and is hailed as a hero while those involved in the dealings were arrested. Hoffstetler goes to meet his handlers with Strickland tailing him. At the rendezvous, Hoffstetler is shot by one of his handlers, but Strickland in turn not only shoots and kills both handlers, but also shoots Hoffstetler, having realized that he is a spy. Strickland tortures the dying Hoffstetler into revealing specifics on the "team" which broke out Amphibian Man, and is surprised to learn that Elisa and Zelda are implicated. Strickland threatens Zelda at home, unsuccessfully, until her husband, Brewster, reveals that Elisa has the Amphibian Man. Zelda immediately telephones Elisa, warning her to release the creature. An enraged Strickland ransacks Elisa's empty apartment until he finds a calendar note revealing where she plans to release the Amphibian Man. At the canal, Elisa and Giles are bidding farewell to the creature when Strickland arrives, knocks Giles down, and shoots both the Amphibian Man and Elisa. The Amphibian Man quickly heals himself and slashes Strickland's throat, killing him. As the police arrive on the scene with Zelda, the Amphibian Man takes Elisa and jumps into the canal where he heals her. When he applies his healing ability underwater to the scars on Elisa's neck, they open to reveal gills like his; she jolts back to life, and the two embrace. In a closing voice-over narration, Giles conveys his belief that Elisa lived "happily ever after" and "remained in love" with the Amphibian Man. ===== The musical play showcases a bunch of many talented young actors, singers, and professional dancers. He knocks Charlie out and chains him up in the barn. Francisca and her father bury her mother in the backyard. Francisca visits Charlie and he explains the thrill of killing others. Francisca removes Charlie's eyes and vocal cords, then bags them and puts them in the refrigerator. She explains to Charlie that he was not killed because he is her only friend and she will look after him. Years later, the adult Francisca's father dies, and she preserves the body. She meets a young woman, Kimiko, at a bar. Kimiko and Francisca return to her home, but after learning that Francisca’s mother was killed, Kimiko is frightened when Francisca jokes oddly that she murdered her father. Kimiko tries to leave but Francisca murders her, chops her up and bags her organs, putting them in her refrigerator. Afterward, she bathes Charlie, still chained up in the barn, and brings him inside to sleep with her. Charlie attempts to escape, but she catches him and repeatedly stabs him. She tells him that he was right; killing another person “feels amazing”. However, now distraught at being completely alone, she wanders the woods until she reaches a highway and catches a ride with a woman named Lucy back to the house. Lucy has a baby son named Antonio who Francisca kidnaps upon reaching the house. She stabs Lucy and praises her dead mother for bringing the pair to her, then keeps Lucy's son as her own child. Like Charlie, Lucy has her eyes and vocal cords cut out and is kept chained up in the barn. When Antonio grows to about 8–9 years old, he becomes curious about the barn, seeing his mother go in and out of it and having been told to never enter. One night while Francisca is asleep he enters the barn and is shocked at seeing a person in chains and groaning unintelligibly - his mother. Lucy later escapes the barn, and makes her way to a road where a trucker finds her. Francisca discovers the escape and digs up her mother’s body, cradling the skeleton and telling her how much she misses her. Upon her return to the house, she sees police coming to the house and rushes to wake Antonio. Taking him into the bathroom while holding a knife, she screams that the police will never take her baby. A gunshot is heard, and the film ends. ===== This story runs in the times of 2013 at United Andhra Pradesh. The story begins when Natsuki Enomoto confesses to her childhood friend Yu Setoguchi. The movie cuts to its opening, Blooming into the Color of Love ("Koi-iro ni Sake"). After the opening, an embarrassed Natsuki denies her love for Yu and calls it a "practice confession." The next day Natsuki is confronted by her friends, Akari Hayasaka and Mio Aida, and admits her failed confession. Her friends cheer her on and discuss Mio's love life; Mio has feelings for her close friend Haruki Serizawa. Although Mio and Natsuki are having problems confessing their love, Akari remains untroubled by the possibility of unrequited love. However, she is the main focus of a boy in her class named Sota Mochizuki, who has been in love with her since the opening ceremony of school. Sota, nicknamed Mochita by his friends, has never talked to Akari and constantly has conversations with his devilish conscience about whether to confess his love. As Sota is feeling alone in his battle to tell Akari, he notices that one of his classmates, Koyuki Ayase, is secretly in love with Natsuki. Koyuki has changed his look, no longer wearing glasses and having cut his hair. After school, Natsuki goes over to Yu's house and plays videos game with his sister, Hina Setoguchi. When Yu arrives home they begin studying and Natsuki asks Yu what he would do if she got a boyfriend. He responds he would support her, even though he is secretly in love with her. The next day Sota musters up the courage to say good morning to Akari and tells her about her bedhead, making it the first time they have spoken to one another. She tells him it is their little secret and he falls in love with her more, pondering who she could like. At lunch, Natsuki, Mio, and Akari are talking about their guy troubles when Koyuki gives Natsuki tickets to a HoneyWorks concert. Ecstatic, she accepts and chases after him to ask him questions about merchandise while her friends question if the concert is a date or not. After school, Natsuki decides not to hangout with Yu and instead picks out her outfit for the concert. Natsuki's brother, Kotaro Enomoto, asks about Hina, whom he likes, and Natsuki teases him which results in bickering between them. The scene shifts to Yu's home where he is eating dinner with Hina. Hina comments on Kotaro's temper and how he will never get a girlfriend. The next morning Yu is returning a DVD to Natsuki and learns about her concert date with Koyuki. The two fight about her outfit, but are actually fighting about their relationship. Natsuki goes to the concert and has a great time until one of the songs (Diagnosis: Lovesickness ("Byoumei Koi Wazura")) makes her realize she is in love with Yu. Koyuki walks her home and notices Natsuki looking at Yu's house. Thinking about Natsuki and Yu's previous fight, Koyuki hugs Natsuki and tries to confess, saying he would not make her sad like Yu had. Koyuki is interrupted by Yu and the two argue about their hidden feelings in front of Natsuki, who begins to cry. Yu ends the conversation by leading Natsuki home. That night, Yu tries but fails to text Natsuki about his feelings. The next morning before school, the two pretend as if nothing has happened and walk together. Once at school, Koyuki apologizes to Natsuki. On a train to school, Sota, still thinking over Akari, sees a trio of students from another school and gives up his seat to one of them and heads over to the next train car. Akari, riding in the same train, notices his act of kindness. Later during lunch, Sota gets motivation from Koyuki and musters his courage to confess his love to Akari; she accepts his confession and they walk to a cake shop after school. Meanwhile, Haruki gets advice from their teacher, Mr. Akechi, about his feelings for Mio. Natsuki recalls a memory of witnessing a first year student delivering an unsuccessful confession to Yu. Troubled, Natsuki goes to Mio for advice. Afterwards, she musters her own personal courage and tells Yu to wait for her. The next day after school, she gathers her courage and confesses, but Yu still thinks that he was not the one she loves. He tells her she passed her confession rehearsal and wishes her luck in the real one. As he is about to leave, he is confronted by a crying Natsuki who finally tells him that the practice was a lie and her confessions were actually real. Yu embraces her, telling her that he accepts her feelings. The ending credits, Our Fraction of a Second ("Ippun Ichibyou Kimi to Boku no"), plays. In the mid credits, Koyuki silently congratulates Natsuki in the background for finally confessing to Yu and getting accepted. Meanwhile, Hina is seen standing at the school lockers holding a letter, possibly a love letter that was meant for someone. After the credits, Natsuki barges into Yu's bedroom and wakes him, questioning his feelings for her since he didn't explicitly say that he loves her. After much pestering, Yu admits that he loves her. Natsuki is flustered and scolds him for saying it so abruptly, but happily hugs him. ===== The story follows nine idiosyncratic individuals, linked by the "Choujou Kagaku Kirikiri Basara" occult summary blog run by 17-year-old second-year high school student Yuuta Gamon. Little incongruities that occur around these nine eventually lead to a larger, unimaginable event that may alter what is considered common sense in this world. ===== The Archimedes of the title is a dog, an old red setter who has learnt to read and who philosophises about the world. Mio and Shinjo also investigate on behalf of the police and for Mio's own reasons. Hinae, a Hekiho student with lie-detection Gigalomania, helps both investigations. Following a tip, Takuru, Serika and Itou infiltrate the AH Tokyo General Hospital to search for the Sumo Stickers' creator, and, joined by Mio, find a secret research facility under the hospital. Accessing the facility's data, they learn that AH is a front for the Committee of 300, concealing their experiments on Gigalomaniacs and investigations of an eleventh, Sumo Sticker-like Rorschach pattern that renders Gigalomaniacs defenseless, and of Senri Minamisawa, the original test subject. They leave with a test subject held there, Uki, who moves into Aoba. Mio thinks Takuru is a psychokinetic Gigalomaniac based on his apparent ability to open locked doors, so he practices psychokinesis. Takuru and Hinae are attacked by a pyrokinetic Gigalomaniac suspected to be Senri and the killer, later identified as Riko Haida. Nono says she was childhood friends with Senri and knew of the experiments performed on her, and joins their investigation. The newspaper club avoids danger until Haida is found dead: They believe the murders are over until Itou, mind-controlled, kills Yui. Later, Serika battles and almost kills Nono with Di-Sword because of Nono's suspicion that she is the killer. Takuru becomes implicated in Nono's injury and the prime suspect for the murders, and Serika tells him that she is a delusion he created when his Gigalomania manifested, only existing to protect him. She also reveals that Sakuma is working for the Committee and responsible for the murders, having killed Gigalomaniacs to clean up the earthquake's aftermath. Learning from Hinae that Serika was not entirely truthful about protecting him, Takuru goes to confront her, but instead meets Sakuma, who attacks using a delusion-generating device; Takuru kills Sakuma with his Di- Sword, then battles Serika and views her memories, learning that she exists to fulfill his desire to be a hero. To achieve this, she manipulated Sakuma into arranging murders for Takuru to solve. Realizing he caused everything, Takuru makes Serika a normal girl using his Gigalomania, and is taken into police custody. Serika goes missing, and later breaks him out from a prison hospital where he is examined for Chaos Child Syndrome (CCS). After the main route, side routes are available: * In Hinae's route, it is revealed that she gained her ability after her brother told her that they are actually half-siblings, as she is the child of her mother's lover. Takuru dies protecting Hinae from her mother, who they learn is behind another murder case. Hinae disappears into a delusion where she lives happily with Takuru. * In Hana's route, she manifests a portal to save Takuru from Haida using her Gigalomaniac ability – uncontrollably real-booting phrases she utter. More monster-spawning portals appear, and Hana's friend Takumi – Chaos;Head protagonist – reveals that Wakui works for the Committee. Wakui intends to capture Hana as a Gigalomaniac sample, but she manifests a Sumo Sticker-faced giant that kills him. * In Uki's route, she accidentally renders Takuru unconscious while trying to attack Itou after Yui's death. When he awakes, the murders have stopped and Yui is alive, but he receives visions where Serika and Nono say he is inside a happy delusion created by Uki. He escapes, but Uki remains in a coma, her mind still trapped. * In Nono's route, Takuru saves her from Serika, and Sakuma becomes the next victim. Nono is revealed to be Senri: Nono died in the earthquake, and Senri, wanting to be like Nono, gained a transformation ability and took on Nono's identity. Takuru is upset over being deceived and loses his will to live, and Serika arrives to fulfill that desire by killing him. Senri intervenes, and his desire changes to being with her, realizing that her love is real; Serika, having no purpose, kills herself, and Senri lives with Takuru as herself. After all other routes, the true ending continues the main route: Serika awakes without memories of the events, but recognizes Hekiho Academy. Mio tells her that the students all have CCS, which developed when they became Gigalomaniacs, for which she seeks a cure. CCS patients age rapidly, and are trapped in a collective delusion separating them from the outside world; Takuru is the first CCS patient to escape the delusion. They infiltrate a secret laboratory within Hekiho, and scan Takuru's brain for a cure. Wakui allows the spread of it since he is interested in the data and will achieve his goal in eliminating the Gigalomaniacs. Serika parts ways with Mio and Takuru, and apparently begins regaining memories. The epilogue shows Takuru's friends cured, and the police taking him away for his role in the murders. While escorted, he comes across Serika, who denies knowing him. Takuru silently agrees that he no longer knows Serika either. ===== ===== In the summer of 1982, 14-year-old Kalinka Bamberski died at her stepfather's house in Germany, where she was staying for the holidays of her boarding school. He will spend the next 30 years fighting for the truth, pressuring both French and German authorities into investigating further. ===== Whilst dropping Ryan Cawood (Rhys Connah) off at school, Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) goes to speak to headmistress Mrs Beresford (Olwen May) in her office about her belief that Miss Wealand (Shirley Henderson), who is really Frances Drummond, is grooming her grandson to like his father, Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton). Mrs Beresford protests, saying that Miss Wealand came to the school with an excellent CV, and Catherine leaves, walking past Frances in the school corridor. Catherine and PC Shafiq Shah (Shana Zaza) go to check on Daryl Garrs (Robert Emms) at his mother's farm. When they arrive, they discover Daryl's shot body in the kitchen, with his mother Alison Garrs (Susan Lynch) unconscious next to him. Catherine realises that Alison has taken an overdose of diazepam and then drank a large volume of vodka and whiskey. With the help of Shafiq, Catherine carries Alison outside onto the front doorstep. Catherine asks Alison who shot Daryl, and after a long time, Alison reveals it was her. Catherine questions why she would shoot her own son, before seeing Daryl's damaged red car, matching the description of a car seen leaving the scene of the last murder. Catherine arrests Alison and waits with her until the paramedics arrive at the scene. DI Jodie Shackleton (Katherine Kelly) tells DS John Wadsworth (Kevin Doyle) that they are almost certain that Daryl is guilty of all the murders except the one of Vicky Fleming (Amelia Bullmore). Detective Superintendent Andy Shepherd (Vincent Franklin) phones Jodie from the scene of Daryl's murder, saying he'd be surprised if Daryl wasn't the murderer. He also says that he wants to push people to think about what happened on the night of Vicky's murder by publishing more photos of her in the media. He also expresses concerns that someone on the investigation team may have committed the murder, with a particular concern about John because he had Vicky's phone number stored on his phone and because of his marital breakdown. Following a news broadcast about Vicky, Neil Ackroyd (Con O'Neill) tells Catherine about how Vicky blackmailed him and eventually ruined his life. Catherine passes on Neil's details to a distant John. After an investigation meeting, John tries to make his escape. Graham Tattersall (Steve Edge) arrives at the police station, believing that he has some useful information with regards to the Vicky Fleming case. He is interviewed by Catherine, and he explains that he was having an affair with a married woman when her husband returned from work on the night of Vicky's murder. Baffled, Catherine asks for the name of her husband, and he reveals it to be John. Catherine goes to report this information to Andy, but sees John in the corridor, who sees Graham behind her. John runs out of the police station and into his car, followed by Catherine. John arrives at Hebden Bridge railway station, and runs onto the railway tracks. Despite being instructed not to, Catherine and PC Gorkem Tekeli (Mete Dursun) follow John. John stands on the ledge of the railway bridge outside the police station, with the police station staff gathered and observing from the street below. Catherine tries to negotiate with John to stop him jumping, and appears to be successful, before he deliberately falls off the bridge and onto a driving car, killing him. Catherine, distraught, walks back to the police station. Mike Taylor (Rick Warden) shows to Catherine that the Miss Wealand is in fact Frances Drummond. Catherine phones her sister Clare (Siobhan Finneran) to explain to her who Frances is, and that she visits Tommy in prison. She later finds out that Miss Cecily Wealand was in fact Frances' dead sister, and that Frances must have stolen her personal documents. Frances is then arrested at the school for fraud, but asks for Ryan to be allowed a relationship with his father. Later that evening, Frances is released on bail, and Catherine goes to visit her at her house. Catherine tries to explain to Frances who Tommy is and what he has done, but Frances rejects everything that Catherine says, revealing that she is engaged to Tommy. Catherine then tells Frances that she is infatuated with Tommy because "he is pretty", but Frances passes this off as jealously, and Catherine leaves. Mike passes on the list of people who have visited Tommy in prison to Catherine, who reads it to Frances, revealing that Tommy was engaged to at least three other women. Tommy is suspended from receiving visitors and phone calls. In his cell, he receives a letter from Ryan, which says that he forgives him. Tommy then looks up at the window, optimistic about the future. Catherine visits Alison in hospital, and tells her that she is always available to talk to. She then goes to visit Becky's grave with Clare, Ryan and Daniel (Karl Davies). Catherine talks to Clare about Alison's story, revealing that Daryl's grandfather was in fact his father, and that Alison removed Daryl from society as a way to protect him, which ultimately led to him becoming the man he did. The four then go on a walk in the Yorkshire hills, and Catherine silently observes Ryan, scared that he will become like his father. ===== Bahar is a young girl who lives in Istanbul with her mother Nuran, her father Ilyas, and her sister Efsun. Howard wishes to marry Darwin's daughter Hannah, but Darwin angrily refuses. That night, he goes on a date with Hannah to a carnival. They then take the subway, wherein a mugger approaches them at gunpoint and steals Howard's wallet and the ring he plans to propose to Hannah with. Not wanting to lose the ring, Howard attempts to fight the mugger and loses. After the mugger flees the scene, Hannah expresses her concern for Howard's sudden bravery, asking what could be so important that he would risk his life over. In order to hide the intended proposal, Howard lies, saying the mugger took a flash drive containing secret files about the serum. In an effort to prove that his serum is effective, Howard injects himself with it, turning him into a giant purple humanoid, the Bulk. Later that night, while witnessing the same mugger assault and murder a young woman, Howard transforms into the Bulk and kills the man; he runs off as police arrive to the scene, and they notice purple blood on the ground. Detectives Ray Garton and Lisa Tuttle find Howard's wallet and return it to him the next day. When Garton finds a purple stain on his hand, he becomes convinced that Howard is responsible for the mugger's death. They watch as Howard returns to the scene of the crime, and when they confront him, he transforms into the Bulk. The Bulk goes on a rampage throughout the city as the detectives pursue him. The Bulk sends cars flying through the air, one of which lands on Tuttle, crushing her. Garton, enraged by his partner's death, shoots at the Bulk, who grabs and destroys a news helicopter. The Bulk morphs back into Howard and is arrested by Garton. In prison, Garton threatens Howard for killing Tuttle, until Darwin arrives with a serum to keep the Bulk under control. Darwin tells Howard that supervillain Dr. Werner von Kantlove, along with his wife Lolita, have been destroying famous monuments and landmarks. Darwin explains that the only way Kantlove can be stopped is with the help of the Bulk, and convinces Howard to comply when he says he will allow him Hannah's hand in marriage. Meganii and Meganee explain that they received a distress call from Falulu in Pripari, the world headquarters of all Pripara, located in Prance. Falulu warns everyone that ominous black clouds have appeared above the Eppel Tower and that Pripari is beginning to lose its Sparkle power. The message is cut short before Falulu can elaborate further but Meganii explains that if Pripara loses all its Sparkle then they can no longer be idols. Meganii goes on to explain that the idols must travel to Pripari if they hope to save Pripara for everyone. He also explains that on the way they should perform as much as they can in order to collect Sparkle, or likes, from idols all over the world. Meganee reveals vehicles for all the idols, saying that they cannot use any normal transport, such as the Pritrain or Pricopter, as all forms of transport have become unusable since the disturbance in Pripari. Meganee tells the idols that the entrance to Pripari is at the end of the canyon and that they should hurry. In Pripari, Falulu begins to fall into a coma, Unicorn explains to Gaaruru that because Falulu was born from the Sparkle power, she and the other Mini Falulu will disappear too, if Pripara is not saved. Gaaruru is unaffected as she was born from the negative feelings of girls who struggled to become idols, opposite to Falulu. Laala and her friends start heading through the canyon, but when they reach the entrance to Pripari, they find Aromageddon have beaten them there. Aroma reveals she plans to get to Pripari first, then seal the entrance with an explosive, but Mikan detonates the explosive prematurely, causing everyone to be blasted out of Pripara to various locations around the world. The idols select Chanko of the Royal Guard to fight as she is the most macho. Chanko reluctantly agrees, winning her match and performing afterwards for likes. SoLaMi Smile and Dressing Pafe reach Pripari first, and find the city size Pripara covered by black clouds and the Prisian idols acting strangely, saying they hate everything. But Dorothy discovers she can use the power of the likes stored in her Cyalume Charm to change the Prisians back to normal. SoLaMi Smile and Dressing Pafe head to where Falulu is and learn from Gaaruru the reason for the black clouds appearing. It transpires that when Falulu and Gaaruru returned to Pripari they came with Gloria Ookanda, who met her older sister Ploria when they landed on top of the Eppel Tower. At first the sisters excitedly greeted each other but then began arguing over something trivial. It is this argument that formed the clouds and spread the negative aura over Pripari, and the sisters are still fighting, continuing to create the clouds. Gaaruru explains that Falulu may be able to help them reach the two Ookanda sisters, but she has fallen into a coma with the other mini Falulu. Laala and her friends try to use their Cyalume Charms to wake up Falulu but they don't have enough likes. But when all seems hopeless, the other idols appear and use their charms to wake Falulu up. All the idols then perform a live in front of the Eppel Tower, causing the sisters to come to their senses and stop fighting, restoring Pripari and saving Pripara. The Ookanda sisters forgive each other and Laala and her friends return to Japan. In a post credits scene, Laala is awoken by Non, who tells her a new idol group has appeared in Pripara. Meganii reveals the group to be Junon, Pinon and Kanon of Triangle, before addressing the audience, saying he will look forward to meeting them again in Pripara next time. ===== Under the command of Captain Lee Crane and with Admiral Harriman Nelson, Vice-Admiral B. J. Crawford, Congressman Llewellyn Parker, and psychologist Susan Hiller aboard, the nuclear-powered submarine USOS. Seaview goes under the Arctic ice for a shakedown cruise. Partway through the cruise the crew find that the ice is melting and when Seaview surfaces they see that the sky appears to be on fire. Radio communication is extremely difficult, but they get a request to come to New York, where the UN is holding a meeting of top scientists. After rescuing a man, Alvarez, from an ice floe, they head south. With help from Vice-Admiral Crawford, Admiral Nelson collates observations and carries out calculations whose answers tell him what he needs to do. He determines that the inner Van Allen radiation belt has caught fire, pulling air up from the overheating atmosphere. To stop the fire, to save all life on Earth, Seaview must launch a missile at a precise moment from a point NW of Guam and have the missile spew electrically-charged lampblack into the outer radiation belt. But first the admiral must attend the meeting in New York. At the United Nations the world- renowned scientist, Dr. Emilio Zucco, insists that the fire will simply burn itself out and should be left alone. Nelson disagrees, but there’s no time to argue and recalculate the figures. While Congressman Parker distracts the audience, Nelson and his crew make a break for it and take Seaview out to sea. South across the Atlantic Seaview drives, pausing only long enough for the crew to tap an undersea telephone cable in a failed attempt to get through to the President. Then Seaview charges onward, through the Straits of Magellan and into the Pacific. On their way to the launch point they have to contend with a freshly-laid mine field, a hostile destroyer, an attack sub, and a gargantuan octopus, not to mention an onboard saboteur. Nonetheless they reach the launch point in time, thwart the saboteur, and succeed in carrying out their mission. They launch the missile and Earth is saved. Ray's ex-wife, Myra, tells him that the company is in a lockout and will need to renegotiate new terms with agents and players. However, they will need to wait over a month to settle, as the team owners are at a standstill with the TV networks over millions of dollars. Ray asks her to cancel the deal, convinced that the players won’t be paid well during the lockout, which could last up to six months. Meanwhile, future teammates Erick Scott and Jamero Umber have an argument on Twitter, heavily publicized by media outlets. Ray heads to Back Court Day, an annual event at a community center featuring a basketball camp for local kids and appearances by star athletes. While Erick is signing autographs and answering questions, Jamero arrives with his mother in tow. Erick and Jamero confront each other about their Twitter argument; tensions rise as they trade insults. They end up playing a one-on-one basketball game, which is recorded by the kids on their phones. A video is posted on social media and goes viral, garnering 24 million views. Ray gets the idea to stream games on streaming services and social media sites like Snapchat, YouTube, and Netflix, thus enabling the players to make money during the lockout. Erick is not convinced and feels he could put his place in the NBA at risk. Nevertheless, he accepts. The next day Sam meets with Ray to discuss their careers going forward. Sam mentions to Ray that Erick might fire him, as he's looking to "move laterally" within the company. Erick fires Ray for lying to him about the fact that everything was for money. However, Ray’s plan succeeds and the players who signed with the company remained signed, meaning that Erick was never in danger and will be able to play in the league once the lockout is over. Ray reveals to Starr that the entire plan to take players to pay-per- view/streaming platforms was all a ruse to force the end of the lockout. It is implied that, through his actions, Ray has taken over Starr's position at the agency. Sam goes to work for the Players’ Association as she and Erick begin a relationship. Sam opens the package Ray gave Erick earlier, which he called a "Bible". The package contains Harry Edwards's book The Revolt of the Black Athlete. Sam begins to read it as Erick showers. Back at the agency, Ray is shown entering a meeting with Edwards. After Erick exits the shower and asks about the package, Sam replies: "You need to read this." ===== Renee, an intellectually gifted mathematician and professor, inadvertently proves arithmetic inconsistent. In early 1802, some Ottoman sipahi and Mustafa Pasha's men, in agreement with the Serbian knezes, attempted to remove the Dahije. Fighting raged in Požarevac, but the Dahije emerged triumphant. Despite this, the sipahi and the Serbs continued to plot their removal. Although antagonistic elements, the tyranny of the Dahije forced the sipahi and the Serbs to cooperate. The Serbs, organizing themselves in western Serbia (where knez Aleksa Nenadović was the leading figure) and Šumadija, wanted as the sipahi to return the state of Mustafa Pasha's rule, but needed securities – the status of Christians in the Ottoman Empire, as history told, was never permanent. In 1803, plans were processed and consultations made regarding this. The sipahi worked on one side, the Serbian seniors (starešine) and knezes (subject village heads) on the other. Studenica monastery after increased tensions in early 1803. As a reputable church leader, protector of his people and great artist, Ruvim was for years targeted by the Dahije who tried to remove him by all means. It is considered that Hadži-Ruvim wrote the appeal in the name of twelve knezes to the Ottoman sultan, a petition for aid against the tyranny of the Dahije, based on which the sultan seriously threatened the Dahije. A monk had informed the Dahije that twelve knezes secretly met at Bogovađa in January 1803. Tradition holds that the letter was written by Hadži-Ruvim and his disciple Hadži-Đera, and that the knezes swore Oath before Hadži-Ruvim that they would rise up against the Dahije. As recorded by Vuk Karadžić,, , Hadži-Ruvim had a quarrel with the subaša of the prnjavor (parish settlement) in 1802, then complained several times to knez Aleksa Nenadović to have the subaša replaced (which would have been easy during Mustafa Pasha's rule), but Nenadović was unable to do him the favour. Because of the conspiracy (which the Dahije later learnt of) and quarrel, Hadži-Ruvim was forced to hide in the monasteries of Nikolje, Studenica, and on Mount Athos., He left Bogovađa for Studenica in the beginning of 1803. A manuscript in Nikolje dated 9 March 1803 records him arriving there on flight from Bogovađa. From Studenica, he sent fourteen messages to people in the Belgrade Pashalik, one of which was recorded to have arrived in Valjevo on 29 March. These messages called the Serbs to prepare an uprising against the Dahije. He also visited the Ovčar-Kablar monasteries. By Easter he arrived at Mount Athos. After visiting the monasteries, he returned home to Bogovađa in late autumn 1803., Meanwhile, another conspiracy letter had been written by knez Aleksa Nenadović (or prota Matija Nenadović in his name) to Austrian major Mitizer in Zemun that asked of the Austrians to prepare ammunition and officers to help them "get rid of the Dahije"., Upon his return to Bogovađa, Hadži-Ruvim received a message from Aleksa Nenadović asking him to flee, as the Turks wrongly accused him of writing that letter to the Austrians, which was intercepted on the Sava ferry by the Dahije. The letter had been intercepted while Hadži-Ruvim was away from the Belgrade Pashalik, and his return might have been viewed by the Dahije as a signal for uprising, therefore they held him accountable. Nenadović asked Hadži-Ruvim to leave the Belgrade Pashalik once again, so as to leave suspicion solely on Nenadović, as it was believed that Hadži-Ruvim was out of danger. Hadži-Ruvim did not listen to Nenadović, whom he messaged that he "had enough of fleeing and wandering.", After the Dahije intercepted Nenadović's letter, they increased the monitoring of Christians. They then learnt of further plans after finding a corresponding letter between the chieftains and the Ottoman government in a frisking of a priest in Ostružnica. The Dahije now took serious measures to suppress any plans, and decided to assault all notable Serbs, and to place new knezes and seniors in their place, then hold the notable Serbs as hostages until the confiscation of weapons from the rayah. They then planned to kill male adults, and employ the rest into their army and Islamize them. The Dahije began to take measures, especially in the Valjevo area. The Dahije sent secret orders to their muteselims to kill each of their knez on the given day. It seems that Mehmed-aga Fočić was tasked with overseeing the operation. The victims were obor-knezes, knezes, buljubašas and other chosen people. The killings began on 23 January. By 25 January, the Dahije decided that all notable Serbs were to be assaulted, so that what was left would become real "rayah, to serve the Turks well". Other Turk lords then began to attack chosen notable people in their districts. Karađorđe, who had led plans in Šumadija, survived attempts. According to contemporary accounts, heads were put on public display at the Valjevo town square to serve as an example to those who might plot against the rule of the Dahije. Metropolitan Leontius invited Hadži-Ruvim to Belgrade and asked him of the state of the people, to which he answered that no words could describe the discontent and suffering, and advised the Metropolitan that the two cross into Austria, as the people planned an uprising against the Dahije. The Metropolitan then informed the Dahije of their discussion, and the Dahije arrested Hadži-Ruvim and brought him to Kučuk-Alija on 28 January, then killed him the next day. According to Vuk Karadžić, "they say that they dragged him with pliers and cut off his breasts and the meat below his armpits, then killed him". By 4 February 72 decapitated heads were brought to Belgrade. He was later buried in the porta of the St. Michael's Cathedral, Belgrade. =====
