As described in a contemporary newspaper, the story is about a bad man who finds his way based on the disdain of a lovely young girl.

The movie is about Dinh Phong (Son Tung M-TP) and his group of friend: Ngo Kien Ha (Ngo Kien Huy), Pham Quynh Bang (Pham Quynh Anh) whose motto is "Cha so gi, chi so gia" (Afraid nothing, only afraid of getting older), a Korean girl Sky (Hari Won) and Manager Lam (Hua Vi Van) who worships money.

Dinh Phong's father passes away after being hospitalized for a while. One of his wishes are to keep smiling and to eat dog meat before dying. Dinh Phong keeps pursuing music career after the death of his father, even dreams of having a concert on his own, however Manager Lam stops it and forces him to become an actor.

At the audition, one of his eyes is sore so he visits the hospital to be diagnosed with a tumor and have to be hospitalized for a short time. His mom forbids him from singing but he sneaks out of the hospital to perform at liveshows. After leaving the hospital, Manager Lam receive a notice from the doctor informing that Dinh Phong has a cancer and only able to live for 5 years.

Discovering his medical situation, although feeling desperate he still keeps trying to live positively. In the last liveshow, he reveals that Lam is the one who takes all of his money and hides his medical situation so he could keep performing, following his own will. Kien Ha punches Lam and they cry together.

Previously, Phong met Lam at a bridge where Phong said: "I don't care about how long I'm able to live, but as long as I still live, please let me live the happiest life ever, let me sing as much as possible". Phong refuses treatments since he can't stand seeing his family worry about him.

After battling with cancer, Dinh Phong passes away in the mourning of his family and fans.

After his death, his friends visit him at the pagoda. His mother opens crab hotpot as wishes, Lam sends all of Phong's money for children living under unfortunate condition. Ha and Bang get married and have kids, Sky gets married many years later.

Plot tells the life of Mercedes a young and humble washerwoman who one day meets Arthur a young graduate who comes from the capital and has just arrived at the village, Arturo and Mercedes fall in love, he has to return to the capital and she agrees to wait for him, returning to the capital Arturo meets a woman of high societywho fell in love with it, and as an ambition to agree to marry, Arturo no can tell the truth to Mercedes since this ravaging it, however the poor washerwoman ended by learning the worst way of cruel deception of her beloved. At the end Mercedes finds true love in another man that that values her, but there another obstacle to be happy, his girlfriend Pilar.

Daniel, a well-behaved child, is bored by his empty life. He lives with his aunt Amanda and uncle Alejandro since he was orphaned. One day, Alejandro tells Daniel that the inheritance he received from his parents is an area developed into a valuable and bustling city.

In that city lives Muñeca, a cute young girl who spends most of her time studying, Rat, who recently got out of jail; and Tobacco Kid, one of Rat's friends. Daniel arrives in the neighborhood wearing his old clothes and meets Muñeca. She thinks that he is one of the city's residents and Daniel played along. Using the name of Ángel he moved to live in the city with the help of Julita his faithful servant. Little by little Muñeca and Daniel fall in love. A variety of complications make life difficult for Daniel, though. These include the truth of Daniel's identity coming out, Susana, a girl in love with Daniel, and uncle Alejandro whose true intentions are to stay in the land inherited by his nephew. Muñeca and Daniel will have to fight hard in order to be happy.

The film begins ''in medias res'' to a dazed and bloodied Brandy being put in a truck and driven off. Days earlier, a group of friends from Ohio—Brandy, her boyfriend Zack, cameraman Jeff, Bobby, and Mikey—decide to take a trip to visit some of America's scariest haunted house attractions in the days leading up to Halloween. They plan to record their experiences and interview the actors who work there. This leads to disturbing revelations about the establishments' operations, such as failure to perform background checks, utilizing criminals and disturbed individuals as actors, using real corpses as props, and performing dangerous stunts for the sake of scares.

The group begins with well-known haunted houses first, though their main goal is to locate an extreme haunt called "Blue Skeleton," a mysterious group that moves to a different, secret location every year and is said to employ real torture to elicit scares. Zack grows agitated with what he views as pedestrian scares. The group also antagonizes haunted house staff by filming and being disruptive but the staff's animosity grows sinister when the friends are followed by a clown and a young actress from an earlier house, despite the group’s having traveled over a hundred miles.

Jeff is chased by a man in a bunny costume brandishing an axe though the man turns out to be an actor. Zack meets other guests who inform him that they experienced Blue Skeleton and that it is in Louisiana this year; they also tell him of a bar where they can find a man who can take them there. Later that night, an actor breaks into their van and films the group while they sleep. Bobby finds the video uploaded to haunted house forums but Zack tells him to keep it a secret, as he does not want the rest of the group getting cold feet. A cow heart is also left inside their refrigerator, making Brandy and Bobby grow reluctant to continue.

At the bar, the group finds themselves surrounded by actors and are confronted about filming. While Brandy is in the bathroom, two male actors take the camera and film themselves cornering her; she escapes and informs the group. They confront the two and reclaim the camera. That night, the group finds their RV surrounded by dozens of actors; one of them cuts the lights. After getting the lights back on, the actors are gone. The next morning, they find instructions on how to meet with their connection to Blue Skeleton.

The group arrives at the rendezvous point at a Halloween festival. In the commotion, Jeff is lured to an alley and finds himself cornered by the clown, the young actress, and the actor in the bunny suit. The masked group attacks and abducts him. The rest of the group tries to call him, but only get a message of another location. There, they are approached by a bus and receive a text telling them to leave the RV or else Jeff will be killed. Zack complies, while the rest of the group is dragged out by attackers. The friends are hooded and bound before being driven off in the bus. While the rest of the group panics, Zack insists it is part of the Blue Skeleton experience.

The men are dragged out at one location, while Brandy is driven to a second location. She is given a camera and told to film everything she sees. The group members wander through their respective rooms. Zack, in a dark room, is bludgeoned by an actor. The rest of the group is terrorized before being buried alive in coffins by the Blue Skeleton members.

The series follows the adventures of protagonist Abaza and his friends. Abaza is a lovable but lazy monster who experiences a change in his life when a beautiful girl enters his world, and he must prove himself in order to win her heart. He then embarks on an adventure to be the greatest inventor in the world, during which he makes quite a lot of inventions, some of them work and others do not.

The protagonist, Jory Taylor, bears the device of Sir Gawain, which puts him in direct conflict with an eco-activist cell called the Green Chapel and led by the avatar of the Green Knight. The political assumptions underlying the Circle's model of heroism are increasingly questioned as it is revealed that the Green Chapel take their inspiration from a radically different British legend, that of Robin Hood.

The game's setting is a planetoid belt. The belt is occupied by enemy NPC's. The player character is a hovercraft pilot who has just completed training and is sent to the belt to fight enemies and fulfill multiple missions. The player character gets promoted after every mission success.

When the last mission is finished the outro is seen. The player character and protagonist returns home in a pod with a parachute. The player character lands in an ocean where a helicopter arrives to exfiltrate the character.

Stefan (Paul Wesley) calls Klaus (Joseph Morgan) to inform him that Mikael (Sebastian Roché) is dead. Klaus is not sure if he can believe him so he asks to talk to Rebekah (Claire Holt) who confirms what Stefan has told him. When Klaus hangs up the phone, it is revealed that Elena (Nina Dobrev) stabbed Mikael with the dagger as part of their plan to make Klaus come back to Mystic Falls and as soon as they are sure Klaus is coming, Elena removes the dagger so Mikael will wake up.

Caroline (Candice Accola) organizes the "Homecoming Party" and it is where they plan to kill Klaus when he comes back. Elena, Stefan and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) work with Mikael and Damon wants to make sure that no one will interfere to ruin their plan. Damon lets Mikael bite Stefan so he will be unconscious while Elena stabs Rebekah with the dagger so they will be sure that none of them will tell Klaus what they are planning.

The gym that the party was going to take place is flooded, and the party moves to Tyler's (Michael Trevino) home. It is revealed later that Klaus wanted the party to happen there as a celebration of his father's death and Tyler made sure that it would happen. Tyler does not know about the plan but as soon as Klaus tells him that if anyone tries to harm him, his hybrids will kill everyone. Tyler, being sure that Damon and Elena are planning something, injects Caroline with vervain and asks Matt (Zach Roerig) to take her home so she will be safe.

Elena and Damon arrive at the party and make sure that everything goes according to plan. Mikael, since Damon is the only one of the two who can enter the house, gives the stake to him so he can stake Klaus. Klaus gets a message that someone named Mikael wants to talk to him and they meet at the door, but Klaus does not exit the house. Mikael, to make him come out, takes Elena as a hostage and tells Klaus that he will kill her if he will not come out and fight him as a man instead of having his hybrids do his job.

Klaus calls Mikael‘s bluff but Mikael stabs Elena and she collapses. Right at that moment, Damon comes from behind and tries to stab Klaus but Stefan appears and stops him. Elena, who is revealed to be Katherine, gets up and throws wolfsbane to the hybrids to stop them from attacking Damon. Klaus takes the opportunity to grab the stake and stakes Mikael, killing him. Damon is furious with Stefan for not letting him kill Klaus and when he asks why, Klaus tells him that Stefan did it to earn his freedom. Klaus releases Stefan from his compulsion and Stefan is free to go.

Back at home, Damon is furious at how they did not manage to kill Klaus after planning everything accurately. Katherine calls to say goodbye and when they hang up, it is revealed that Stefan is with her and that she was the one who woke him up and helped him get to the party. Klaus told her, thinking that she was Elena, that if they kill him his hybrids will kill Damon anyway and that is why Stefan did not let Damon kill Klaus, to save him.

The episode ends with Klaus trying to reach Rebekah to tell her that Mikael is dead and it is time for a family reunion but Rebekah is not answering. Stefan calls him to tell him that now that he is free, he will get revenge on him for taking everything away from him. Stefan took all the coffins that contain Klaus’ siblings and when Klaus threatens him, Stefan tells him that if he kills everyone he loves, he will never see his siblings again.

Greenland, 1908. Josephine, the confident and bold wife of the famous Arctic explorer, Robert Peary, embarks on a dangerous journey in pursuit of her husband who is seeking a route to the North Pole. She meets Allaka, an Eskimo girl who is pregnant.

Rachel Whitaker has been raised as a Christian by her loving parents (her father is a minister). However, after she leaves for her freshman year of college, she begins to be influenced by her biology professor, Dr. Kaman whose charisma and light-hearted approach make him popular with the students. He teaches that complex life forms evolved from simpler life forms and that the Biblical theory of creation is not a considerable alternative. Rachel's father Stephen is concerned by the change in his daughter's personality and beliefs. He confronts the arrogant professor and finds himself challenged to a debate much to the embarrassment of his daughter. As he prepares, Stephen is approached by a sympathetic student who tells him to go to the university to see a former professor named Portland, who was fired years before at Kaman's behest for teaching Biblical theory to his students. Portland initially rebuffs efforts to "get him back in the game". On the night of the debate, Kaman seems to be swaying the audience when Portland suddenly appears and confronts his old nemesis at the movie's conclusion.

As described in a film magazine, Lois Hartner (Clayton), daughter of the thief Michael "Old Hartner" (Roberts), is saved from death in a shipwreck by George Bayard (Dexter), a state senator and social reformer. Her father plans to rob the Bayard house of a valuable string of pearls. Lois is charged with the duty of obtaining the pearls, but during the operation George surprises her. Ralph Burton (West), scapegrace brother-in-law of George, takes the pearls while George is absent from the room, and George believes Lois has taken them. She has determined to give up the criminal life she was living and goes to the West. After Ralph confesses to the theft, George finds her and makes her his wife.

Dorothy Grant returns from boarding school so fired up with patriotism that she organizes her friends into a military company they call the Girls' Aviation Corps with help from a woman farmer who served in the military. Dorothy then discovers that German spies have come to town to get access to her father's munitions plant.

As described in a film magazine, after war is declared on Germany Ernest Short (Truex) enlists, and his best girl Emmy Little (Mason) determines to do her bit by running down a German spy. She falls in love with a German-American and, when he gets orders to kill an American officer, he proposes and they are married. Emmy's uncle, an army officer, is invited to the wedding. The plotters overcome the officer after the wedding and attempt to kill him. Ernest rescues the officer, trails the wedding party, and has the German placed under arrest. He and Emmy later marry.

As Vocal Adrenaline completes their last song, Principal Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) announces that she is the sole judge for this invitational, and that she is extending it over three days in order to give Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) more time to find additional members, as New Directions does not have the required twelve members for official show choir competitions. Rachel is upset with Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison) because he broke their agreement to have Vocal Adrenaline perform poorly. Kurt suggests that Rachel attempt to recruit former New Directions member Kitty Wilde (Becca Tobin) even though she has openly declined rejoining the group. Kurt continues to date Walter (Harry Hamlin) while Sue interrupts them as a waitress attempting to break them up. Sue tells Becky Jackson (Lauren Potter) that she plans on trapping Kurt and former fiance Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) in a small enclosed space to force them to reconcile. Rachel tries to persuade Kitty to rejoin New Directions but she is heartbroken over her previous memories there. As the Warblers perform, Kurt and Blaine get trapped in a fake elevator.

Sue re-hypnotizes Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) to convince Rachel to use horrible songs for their performance. The next day, Kurt and Blaine are still missing, and Sam (under hypnosis) gives the songs to Rachel while professing his love for her. Rachel snaps her fingers to break his trance, and asks Sam to search for Kurt and try to find some new singers. In the elevator, Kurt and Blaine are met by a doll resembling Sue and Billy the Puppet who reveals that Kurt and Blaine must kiss passionately in order to escape. Kitty has a change of heart, agrees to rejoin New Directions, and helps Rachel hack into Sue's computer to access a secret music playlist that Sue is emotionally attached to. Sam meets up with Spencer Porter (Marshall Williams) and attempts to convince him to join New Directions. After a discussion with policeman and former coach of the Haverbrook Deaf Choir Dalton Rumba (Michael Hitchcock), Rachel convinces Jane Hayward (Samantha Marie Ware), Roderick (Noah Guthrie), Mason McCarthy (Billy Lewis Jr.) and Madison McCarthy (Laura Dreyfuss) to trust her last-minute change of songs, as Spencer finally agrees to join New Directions. Rachel and Will apologize to each other as they realize Sue was behind the attempts to break them apart.

New Directions begins their performance as Kurt and Blaine kiss passionately to allow them to be freed. The songs touch Sue's emotions to the point where she announces New Directions as the winner of the invitational, with Vocal Adrenaline in second place, and the Warblers in third place. Vocal Adrenaline's leader Clint (Max George) blames Will for their losing and vows to take action. Sue tells Will that the songs also purged her anger for Will. Kurt and Blaine confront Sue over the kidnapping and state that it only helped them get over any resentment they had over their breakup. Back in her storage unit, Sue reveals to Becky that these events were all part of her ongoing plan, as New Directions celebrate their victory.

As described in a film magazine, Alain de Montcalm (Ray), known as the "Eaglet", lives with his father, the Commandante Michel de Montcalm (French), and his sister Virginie (Hope). Caesar Le Noir (McKim), a scoundrel who courts Virginie, is second in command at the trading post. Le Noir is accused by an Indian of having wronged his daughter. Le Noir intimates that Alain is the guilty one and the Commandante soundly thrashes him. That night he persuades Virginie to run away with him. While returning for Virginie's rosary beads, Le Noir is discovered and in the struggle kills the Commandante. Alain returns from visiting a nearby trading post and trails Le Noir to a deserted fort, where he brings him to bay. Le Noir sends word to Alain that he will kill Virginie if Alain does not cease firing. Virginie is wounded and Le Noir escapes. Alain follows and comes upon Le Noir's daughter Therese (May) almost dead in the snow. He takes her to his cabin and is overjoyed to find that Virginie has reached home before him and is recuperating. Le Noir is later killed in an accident and eaten by wolves, and Therese forgives Alain.

As described in a film magazine, Leonora (Cavalieri), a poor lace maker, is given a musical education by Mr. and Mrs. Stuart (Handyside and Brundage), a wealthy American family, and soon becomes a prima donna. The Spanish Count Nerval (Bloomer) falls in love and marries her, but she refuses to give up her career. En route to America, her sister Nina (Robinson) meets a young American Dr. Paul Spencer (Austern), and, although in love with him, she becomes enamored with Phillip Gardiner (Cain), the son of a wealthy New Orleans family. They are all invited to visit to the Gardiner's in New Orleans, and there the Count becomes jealous of Leonora, thinking that an old affair with Phillip has been renewed. Phillip is found dead in the garden by the Count, having been stabbed with Leonora's jeweled dagger, and Leonora is suspected of the crime. The confession by the Creole servant Cleo (Uzzell) clears matters up, and Nina is happy in the doctor's arms while the Count swears to never doubt his wife again.

After her marriage to Prince Charming, Cinderella spends her days in their luxurious palace, keeping his affability with all the people around her, but her two stepsisters, always envious of her, manage to get her away from the palace. The Prince falls into a state of despair, but Bonaventura promises him to go in search of the girl and bring her back. After fighting bitter enemies such as Barbariccia and the Ogre, helped by the loyal Cecè and by the Little Fairy he will finally succeed.

The plot is unknown.

Bonnie (Kat Graham) tells Elena (Nina Dobrev) that every night she has the same dream; four coffins and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) is in one of them. Later on, Bonnie goes to the house of the witches that she sees in her dream to check it out and she finds Stefan (Paul Wesley). Meanwhile, Klaus gets back to Mystic Falls looking for Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Stefan. He tells Elena and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) what Stefan did and demands to tell him where he is but they tell him that they have no idea where Stefan or Rebekah are.

Alaric (Matt Davis) worries about Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) when he finds out that he got fired from the Grill a week ago. Along with Elena, they try to talk to him but he is not listening to them. Jeremy starts hanging out with Tyler (Michael Trevino) despite Elena and Alaric's attempts to convince him that Tyler is dangerous because he is sired to Klaus. When they ask Tyler about the siren bond he tells them that he is loyal to Klaus but he can still make his own decisions.

Klaus asks Damon once again to tell him where Stefan is. When Damon says he cannot find him, Klaus calls Jeremy and asks him to do what he told him to do. Jeremy takes off his ring and stands in the middle of the street while a car comes towards him in high speed. Alaric pushes him out of the way just in time and the car hits him instead. Elena sees that Klaus’ hybrid, Tony (Zane Stephens), was driving the car and since Alaric wears his ring is going to be fine. When she asks Jeremy who was on the phone, Elena realizes that Klaus compelled Jeremy.

Stefan asks Bonnie’s help to hide the coffins so Klaus will not find them and asks her not to tell anyone. When Elena tells her that Klaus tried to kill Jeremy because they do not tell him where Stefan is, Bonnie tells her about the house. Elena and Damon go to find him but Stefan refuses to give them the coffins back. Elena leaves and Damon stays back to deal with Stefan who tells him why he stopped him from killing Klaus and reveals him where the coffins are and why he took them.

Alaric gets back to life but he is not completely healed and Elena calls an ambulance. A hybrid comes and compels the paramedics to not take Alaric and tells Elena that if she lets him come in the house, he could heal Alaric with his blood. Jeremy comes, kills the hybrid and along with Elena take Alaric to the hospital.

Elena, not having other choice, decides to give Klaus Rebekah to save Jeremy’s life. Klaus accepts the new deal but before he leaves with his sister, Elena tells him that Rebekah knows that he was the one who killed their mother and not Michael. Knowing that Rebekah knows, Klaus puts the dagger back in her heart so she will not wake up.

At the end of the episode, Elena asks Damon to compel Jeremy leave town and not come back to Mystic Falls. Before Damon leaves, he kisses Elena while Stefan tells Bonnie that he cannot open one of the coffins. Bonnie says it is sealed with magic and they need to open it to find the answer of how to kill Klaus.

As described in a film magazine, Edward Andrews (Washburn) worships the romance-loving Frances Raymond (Hawley), the daughter of wealthy parents, but she always turns down his proposals. Finally, she hints that she may be won over using caveman tactics. Edward hires a reporter, Michael Rudder (Ferguson), to kidnap Frances and take her to his country home, where he has installed his grandmother (Chapman) to act as a chaperon. Frances is won over by the ardent lovemaking of the reporter and when she suggests that they get married at once, the poor reporter runs away. Frances is now inconsolable, and Edward very obligingly goes in search of the wooer. When they return, the reporter reveals that he is wealthy and has a title and estate in England, but Frances decides in favor of the conventional Edward.

Recep Ivedik (Şahan Gökbakar) is a football coach children in the neighborhood. From childhood he played football in this place, but of course, that the property was sold to a developer and build mansions in this place. He knows that for kids this course is very valuable and decided to buy the land from the owner, but the price is high, but he does not have enough money. After unsuccessful attempts to get a loan from a bank, accidentally came across an ad for a casting for Survivor with a prize of 500,000 Turkish lira and decided to join. An adventure with much laughter and challenge that deserves to be seen.

100 years ago, the power of the Pokémon Hoopa was confined inside the Prison Bottle after it became destructive and out of control. In the present, Ash Ketchum and his friends, Pikachu, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie are pulled through a portal created by Hoopa's interdimensional rings to Dahara City. Hoopa attempts to use its rings to transport everybody to the nearby Dahara Tower but it is revealed that, in its altered state, Hoopa cannot travel through the rings it creates. Baraz, one of Hoopa's caretakers and the great grandson of the man who sealed off Hoopa's power, arrives with the Prison Bottle. The bottle possesses Baraz and makes him release a shadow of Hoopa created from the anger of being confined for 100 years. Hoopa's power is put back into the bottle.

Team Rocket tries stealing the bottle. The instant Meowth takes hold of it, he becomes possessed, and opens the bottle to unleash Hoopa's power. Hoopa fights the power and is able to keep it at bay, but Hoopa's shadow then develops as a separate Pokémon, which attempts to take over the real Hoopa. In the struggles, the Prison Bottle explodes. Hoopa summons the Legendary Pokémon Lugia. Lugia distracts Hoopa's shadow as Hoopa makes its escape. Baraz and his sister Meray know that they can make a new bottle at Dahara Tower with the power of earth, fire, and water. They decided to use Serena's Braixen, Ash's Frogadier, and a wild Hippopotas from the desert.

Lugia meanwhile, gains the upper hand in its duel with Hoopa's shadow which ends the conflict by tricking Lugia into flying through a ring which returns Lugia back to its ocean home. Hoopa then summons the legendary Pokémon Latias, Latios, and Rayquaza. Ash, Hoopa, and Pikachu ride on Latias and Latios, while Rayquaza helps to battle Hoopa's shadow. Ash commands the Pokémon to attack, but Hoopa's shadow summons six other Legendary Pokémon. Meanwhile, at the tower, the others are working to make a new Prison Bottle, using the powers of fire, earth, and water.

Rayquaza creates a twister around Dahara Tower to protect it, while the others inside reforge the Prison Bottle. However, Hoopa's shadow and the legendary Pokémon break through it. The bottle is made again, but Baraz drops it. Ash catches it but gets possessed. Hoopa cleanses the shadow of itself with its happy memories, causing the evil to disappear. However, due to too many legendary Pokémon being summoned, a time warp forms around the tower. Hoopa, its fully restored powers no longer affected by anger, helps everyone inside the tower escape with its rings. But Hoopa cannot pass through the rings. Then the space-time rift stops. Originally Arceus stops it with its power, giving Hoopa one more chance to escape. Hoopa escapes remembering the words of Baraz and Meray's great grandfather that originally confined Hoopa's power, and considers Baraz and Meray family. Hoopa decides to stay with them, and is finally able to travel through the ring. Hoopa decides to rebuild the city before returning to its home in the Arche Valley.

Cleo is a teenage girl living in the shadow of her older sister, Molly, whose popularity gets her recognized by everyone at school. Although Cleo is hardly noticed compared to her sister, she is an excellent student, but is introverted and somewhat sarcastic and cynical.

Cleo's science teacher, Mr. Perkins, sees her potential in science and decides she needs a challenge for her class project; she is to determine a mystery substance and transform it into its crystal state. As she works on the experiment at home, while Molly hosts a dinner for her lacrosse team, a moth flies by and distracts Cleo, causing her to accidentally spill unknown chemicals into her solution. The steam produced ends up turning the moth invisible, leading Cleo to chase it around the house, full of guests, before it gets away.

Later, while Molly is preparing for bed, the moth returns, attracted to the light from the bathroom. The moth flies to close to the light, gets killed by it and falls into a cup of water containing an antacid Molly is about to drink, and she unknowingly consumes the moth which renders her invisible.

The next morning, Molly is horrified when she cannot see herself and discovers the reason from Cleo. She must attend school to participate in the season opener for her lacrosse team, which college scouts will be watching. As it is Halloween, she decides to wear her costume to mask her invisibility, but when the costume also turns invisible, Molly has Cleo wear the costume and pretend to be her at school. Cleo attends the pep circle for the lacrosse team while Molly grabs a microscope from the science classroom so Cleo can figure out how to make her visible again. In the process, Molly hears Carter, a boy Cleo likes, talking with George about Cleo; she manages to secure a date for her sister by pretending to be her and asking Carter out. Things get complicated when George finds out Molly's invisibility, and her boyfriend Coug questions why she is constantly avoiding him. Later in the lacrosse game, Cleo has a rough start but slowly gets into the game with Molly's help, resulting in a victory for the team.

Upon observing Molly's cells under the microscope, Cleo and George conclude that her invisibility will become permanent unless they can formulate an antidote before midnight, twenty-four hours after Molly swallowed the moth, so they need to reproduce the results from Cleo's earlier experiment. The sisters go to a cemetery to catch another moth while George goes to school to set up. While in the cemetery, Molly's frustration over her invisibility mounts, leading to a heated argument with Cleo. In apologizing, Cleo admits to admiring Molly's "light" and is jealous because her not sharing in it makes her feel invisible. After Molly secures a moth for the experiment, the sisters take a trolley to school. While in transit, Molly tells Cleo she understands her feeling invisible, but she also envies Cleo's genius, as she knows her popularity is fleeting. Cleo clarifies to Molly that her "light" is about more than popularity.

When they arrive at school and meet George, they realize they need to get past the security guard. Using her invisibility, Molly manages to scare him out, allowing Cleo and George to enter and duplicate Cleo's original experiment. The solution turns out to be too complex for either Cleo or George to understand, and they need Carter, a governor's scholar, to analyze the results.

They look for him at the school's annual Halloween party "Romp the Swamp". While searching, Cleo bumps into Coug, who is doubting his relationship with Molly and needs to be shown she cares for him, despite being invisible. Eventually, Cleo finds Carter, who is upset with her mixed attitude, expecting they would be together for the party. After informing him about the situation, she takes him to a nearby barn, where her sister, Coug and George are gathered.

With time running short, Cleo, George, Carter and Coug work together to develop an antidote for Molly, narrowly making the midnight deadline. They nearly get in trouble when Mr. Perkins, in charge of the party, finds them in the barn, but Molly informs him about Cleo's experiment before drinking the antidote, risking the deadline. When she finally gets to the antidote, it fails but not because it passed midnight. Molly had taken some antacid the night before when she consumed the moth, so after Cleo adds a dose of that to the antidote, Molly becomes visible again upon drinking it.

Astonished by the results of Cleo's project, Mr. Perkins asks her to present her findings at a seminar of the New Orleans Association of Applied Scientists. Cleo gains a greater appreciation for the fine line between visible and invisible.

Jenny Parker and Lola Perez are teenagers with opposite personalities but the same passion for photography. The two meet when they are finalists for a prestigious photography internship and accidentally switch phones at their interview. Helen Anderson calls Jenny's phone, begging for a last-minute babysitter because of a relative who couldn't make it. Lola is about to explain the mistake, but decides to take the job when she gets served with a parking ticket from Officer James. Jenny's crush Zac Chase calls to invite Jenny to a Psychic Rockets concert but Lola quickly and, coincidentally, dismisses him in order to flirt with Officer James. Zac mistakenly believes that Jenny is not interested in him so he decides to take another girl to the concert instead.

Jenny and Lola arrive at the Coopers' and the Andersons' for their respective babysitting jobs. Jenny is told by Donna Cooper not to let Emily do anything to her hair, nor to let Katy go through her mother's jewelry box. Also, both Lola and Jenny realize they switched phones, and Jenny travels to Lola to switch their phones back. By that time, Bobby has made a mess by cooking and Trey has snuck out to a Psychic Rockets concert despite being grounded for spending $200.00 worth of money on applications for his electronics.

Jenny, Lola, and the children journey in the Anderson's SUV to a sketchy pawn shop in the city in order to track Trey down. However, they find that he has already left with his friends. In the shop, Bobby accidentally lets loose a rare Sapphire Ferret and Lola takes a picture of the commotion for her photography resume. Since poaching and trafficking the animal is illegal, the pawn shop owners Tiny and Scalper chase the seven out of the store, trying to delete the photo from Lola's camera. The group makes it to the car only to find that it is being towed. The truck owner tells them that they need $100 to pay off the fine and have until midnight to pay it off. The group is forced to take a bus to their next destination, Trey's favorite pizza parlor called Mario's. They find Trey and, now all together, try to figure out how to pay off the tow truck fees. Bobby spots Tiny and Scalper following them and a chase ensues into a clothing factory. The seven once again escape them and once they are safe, Lola suggests re-selling the ticket at the concert.

Tiny and Scalper track them down but hold off from revealing themselves when Lola gets arrested for illegally re-selling the ticket. As they wait at the police station, Jenny is horrified to see that Emily secretly dyed her hair green and got a tattoo in her arm and angrily reprimands her. Hurt, Emily calls and leaves a voicemail message to Mrs. Cooper explaining the trouble they are in. In the interrogation room, Lola meets Officer James. He scolds her for trying to scalp the ticket, pointing out that she could have been hurt and is setting a bad example for her babysitting charges. Lola finally realizes her impulsiveness has consequences and begs to go free to make things right. Meanwhile, in the lobby, AJ meets her roller derby idol Jailer Swift when Swift and her roller derby team are brought in on charges for disorderly conduct. Lola is cleared of all charges and when she goes to meet with the group. The derby team starts fighting among themselves and provides enough distraction for the seven to get away. When out, Tiny and Scalper chases after AJ, while the group steals Tiny and Scalper's car and chases. After escaping the criminal duo they are able to hide out at a rap nightclub. But when they interrupted a performance they are forced to perform on stage, if they are to leave. They improvised a performance based on the situation they are in right now, which pleases the audience. Later Tiny and Scalper show up but they are able to make their escape.

Once safe, Katy remembers that her mother keeps a $100 bill in her coat for emergencies and the group decides to sneak into the local planetarium where the Coopers and Andersons are attending a party to steal it for the truck fees. As Jenny, Katy and Lola sneak into the storage room to look for Mrs. Cooper's coat, the Coopers hear Emily's message and head to the police station to check on their children. The coat turns out to be left at the Cooper's table where the Andersons are sitting, so Lola disguises herself as a wealthy socialite to steal the money. Meanwhile, Bobby takes charge of the catering after one of the chefs quits. Tiny and Scalper are caught by security and the Sapphire Ferret is grabbed.

Once Lola retrieves the money, the group heads to the tow place before it closes and get the car back. Tiny and Scalper are arrested and the Sapphire Ferret is taken to an animal shelter. Lola jokes how Jenny's night is more interesting than going to a concert with Zac and Jenny finally learns why Zac has suddenly become distant. She becomes angry with Lola, but Lola suggests driving to the Psychic Rockets concert to explain everything. Lola trades her precious camera but keeps the memory card in exchange for Jenny's admission so Jenny and Zac can reconcile. The group then races home before the parents. They successfully make it, but upon arrival, they find out about a much bigger mess: the washing machine has burst, with soap everywhere, and the Andersons' dog Lady Marmalade is covered with sauce, which is also all over the floor. Trey washes the car and then helps Emily clean their dog, Jenny and Katy clean the laundry room, and Lola, Bobby and AJ clean the kitchen. Once they all are done, Jenny, Katy and Emily leave to get them back home, and the Andersons' arrive home, where Lola immediately covers up and says they were great. Jenny does the same. As she leaves, Zac arrives telling Jenny he forgot to give Emily her headphones, and the two start dating, much to the delight of Katy and Emily who have been watching. Lola gets her driver's license back from Officer James, who asks her out.

The next day, it is revealed that Lola and Jenny have adopted some of the others' traits, and Jenny declines her photography scholarship, giving it to Lola, who begins a relationship with Officer James. At the end, Lola sends the pictures to Katy, Emily, AJ, Bobby, Trey, Jenny and accidentally Helen.

The first story arc, "The Head That Wouldn't Die!", introduces the Power Persons Five (PP5), and their nemesis John L. Sullivan and King Tiger Eating a Cheeseburger. In order to prevent farmers from launching homemade rockets into space, NASA, under the directorship of Sir Hippothesis (a human-hippopotamus hybrid), has established the superhero group the Power Persons Five: led by Dr. Professor, a humanoid rhinoceros, with team members Star Fighter, his wife Starrior, The Impossible, The Anti-Mugger, and Craymok. Sometimes they save the world. In a fight against John L. Sullivan, who plans to conquer the world with an army of fighting bears, Star Fighter's head is permanently disfigured, and Sullivan is killed by The Impossible. The damage to Star Fighter's head strains his and Starrior's marriage, so they attend group couples-counseling with Montel. There, Starrior meets and later begins an affair with Texas Tom, a cowboy haunted by the ghostly cow head Blue Grass. At a seedy motel, Blue Grass and Star Fighter confront Starrior and Texas Tom. Tom shoots Star Fighter's disfigured head, which bursts, leaking gore. Later, Star Fighter cuts off the remains of his head and replaces it with Blue Grass, transforming into Star Grass, the cosmic ghost. Meanwhile, the fighting bears use magic to resurrect John L. Sullivan as a sentient zombie, and Sullivan attacks and wrests control of PP5 Headquarters.

Starrior enlists Texas Tom's help to save her teammates. They recruit Gnarled Winslow (an ex-Chicago cop), Reed Spacer, and Crazy Train to aid in the attack. Star Grass returns to Headquarters and kills Sullivan with a single nuclear punch. Then Star Grass gives the bears star rings and drafts them into NASA to get revenge on Starrior. When Starrior, Texas Tom, Crazy Train, Gnarled Winslow, and Reed Spacer show up, Star Grass and his star bears fight them. Crazy Train accidentally kills herself. The battle is interrupted by an irate Sir Hippothesis. In the aftermath, The Anti-Mugger (irradiated by Star Grass) quits the PP5, Sir Hippothesis fires Star Grass, and Star Grass sues NASA. In a recess from the ensuing trial, it is revealed that The Anti-Mugger has a new, mutated third arm, and Starrior is pregnant with Star Grass' daughter. Everyone is attacked by John L. Sullivan, whose mustache survived the explosion and transformed an astronaut into Super Sullivan, a giant monster with wings and a unicorn horn. After Star Grass saves Starrior from Super Sullivan and Gnarled Winslow destroys Sullivan and his mustache, the married couple reconciles, Sir Hippothesis makes Star Grass PP5 team leader, and Star Grass fires Dr. Professor and hires Gnarled Winslow. During all of this, astronaut farmers have been launching into space unchecked. One of their ships collides with that of Admiral Tiger Eating a Cheeseburger, only son of King Tiger Eating a Cheeseburger, absolute ruler of Planet Crabulon. The King is told of his son's death.

The second arc, "A Star is Born!", picks up two years later. The remaining members of the PP5—Star Grass, Gnarled Winslow, Starrior, and The Impossible—are suppressing the astronaut farmers. Star Grass and Starrior are raising Starlina, their super-powered infant daughter. Gnarled Winslow is haunted by the ghost of Crazy Train, his former lover. The Impossible becomes lost in space. Craymok, The Anti-Mugger, and Dr. Professor live together in a small apartment. The Anti-Mugger's third arm has become sentient and started mugging people, but he does not know it. Dr. Professor has become a conspiracy nut. King Tiger Eating a Cheeseburger begins his attack on Earth, to avenge his son. Backstory is revealed in flashbacks for NASA, Sir Hippothesis, Dr. Professor, and Planet Crabulon. The Anti-Mugger is arrested for mugging Dr. Professor. During a seance, Gnarled Winslow and Texas Tom are physically fused together and transported to the spirit world. The Impossible is rescued by the New Gentendians, a race of aliens who have also rescued Admiral Tiger Eating a Cheeseburger. As King Tiger Eating a Cheeseburger's forces finally reach Earth, Starlina, on a sugar high, loses control of her powers and kills Star Grass. The New Gentendians detect the blast of Starlina's powers.

Saltbush Bill is again droving his sheep when he happens "on Take 'Em Down, the station of Rooster Hall." Rooster Hall is a follower of cockfighting and Bill challenges him to a contest: his Australian bird against Hall's, a "clipt and a shaven cock, the pride of his English Game". But Bill has a trick up his sleeve and wins the contest by forfeit.

As described in a film magazine, the Bass brothers (Beery and Williams) are unscrupulous misers while Artemus Wilkins (Marshall) is their confidential bookkeeper. The brothers are afraid that young Walsingham Van Doren (Reid), their nephew, will squander their ill-gotten gains, and on the day they propose to execute a will that will cut him off without a cent, they are both killed in an accident. Van Doren, who previously sold books door-to-door for a living, proceeds to have a good time with the $40 million left by his uncles. At an expensive New York hotel he takes a suite of rooms where he wines and dines to his hearts content, the only annoyance being having to sign for the foreclosing of mortgages that the faithful Wilkins brings. Finally Van Doren gives Wilkins a power of attorney to sign everything and the next thing he knows is that Wilkins has turned everything into cash and skipped town. He learns of his plight as Desiree Lane (Carew), whose home he has acquired as a result of foreclosing a mortgage, is demanding the return of securities belonging to her father. The two start in search of Wilkins. They are driven from a New England cottage one night by a fire and then decide to get married. They settle in the little town and are happy when Wilkins bursts in on them to return the stolen money. The film ends with an intertitle asking "Mr. Audience, what would you do?"

Saltbush Bill is droving his sheep towards Castlereagh and Stingy Smith, the owner of Hard Times Hill station is worried that Bill's sheep will ruin his run. He chances on a travelling tramp, and finding out the man is a fighter, arranges for him to get Bill into a fight and tells him it's "a five-pound job if you belt him well -- do anything short of kill". When Bill arrives at the station, the tramp kicks his dog, starts a fight and beats Bill senseless. Bill has to recuperate for a week from his injuries, after which he and his sheep move on. It is only later that Stingy Smith comes to realise that he has been duped, and that Bill had arranged it all.

Antigonus, archon of Corinth, wants to build a magnificent temple dedicated to the goddess Aphrodite, for which the people are oppressed by new and very high taxes. The sculptor Demetrius, asked to make the face of the goddess Diana, falls in love with a slave, the Christian Lerna. With the arrival of the plague the people are increasingly discontented and Antigonus has easy game accusing the Christians who are immediately arrested and sentenced to death. The Roman troops arrive to restore order, saving the two lovers Demetrius and Lerna.

The whole Dunphy family, along with Manny (Rico Rodriguez), re-evaluate their lives when they have a near-death experience while going for breakfast and almost get hit by a truck.

Claire (Julie Bowen), who was arguing with Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) moments before the incident, decides that she has to stop being so controlling all the time and visits him at his work to apologize and take a walk with him. They go for roller skating and Claire forces Mitch to go through a dark tunnel to surpass his fear about it. Before they enter the tunnel they separated and Mitch gets mugged. He comes out of the tunnel and demands from Claire her roller skates so he can go back to work for an important meeting.

Alex (Ariel Winter) realizes how much Haley (Sarah Hyland) loves her, since the moment of the "accident" Haley hugged her and said "I thought I almost lost you". The two of them spend the day together and Haley takes Alex for mustache waxing and to buy new clothes. Back at home, Alex discovers that Haley was actually talking to her phone when she said "I thought I almost lost you" and Alex gets mad at her.

Luke (Nolan Gould) decides to go through his bucket list after realizing how many things he is missing. He even missed his near-death experience because he was listening to music and not paying attention at the moment.

Phil (Ty Burrell) wants to stop being scared and takes action by first confronting Gil Thorpe (Rob Riggle) for stealing his clients. Cameron (Eric Stonestreet), who is with Phil at the moment, finds Phil's new behavior sexy and has no idea how to handle it, especially when Phil also confronts the salesman at the store for bringing Cameron the wrong color of washing machine. Phil manages to convince the salesman take back the wrong one and replace it with a new one in the right color. The new "feelings" of Cameron towards Phil disappear the moment Phil decides to take an alpaca home and it has to sit with Cameron in the back seat of the car.

Manny is afraid to get into a car again and Jay (Ed O'Neill) forces him to do it despite Gloria's (Sofía Vergara) objection. When Jay sees that having Manny in the back seat makes it worse, he decides that Manny will get over his fear only if he drives the car. Manny tries to do it but, he is still scared and when Gloria realizes that Manny not being able to drive in the future will be a big problem for her, she pretends that she sees the man who stole her phone and makes Manny chase him with the car. Manny is no longer afraid, but after the chasing, Jay and Mitch (who was on his way to work with the roller skates) have their own near-death experience. Jay gets out of the car to walk home while Mitch calls the salesman to demand the right color of washing machine since he has no idea that Phil has already fixed this problem.

The story takes place during the last years of the Junta. Lefteris, a young man with dreams aspires to become a successful and free man. So he leaves from his agricultural village to study in the Polytechnic University of Athens. In Athens, he lives with his girlfriend Dimitra, despite the opposition of his uncle who pay tuitions of his studies. Nevertheless, the next years, he feels that his relation with Dimitra becomes an obstacle to his ambitions. Finally he breaks up with his girlfriend. After many years he has become a successful engineer, but a visit of his best friend reminds him in the lost love with Dimitra. Then, he perceives that he hadn't won happiness.

As described in a film magazine, Mirandy's mother Mrs. Judkins (Kelso) "takes in" laundry and Mirandy Judkins (Martin) scrubs the floors of the town opera house. Teddy Lawrence (MacLean), who plays the piano at the theater, is also organist at St. Mark's church. Mirandy upon Teddy's invitation attends church services and meets Rose White (Gennung), who is in love with the minister. Mirandy is given the work of laundering the surplices and is entrusted with a note to the minister pinned to one of the frocks. The not falls out, however, and is not delivered until the minister is called to marry the Boarder (Freeman) to Annie May (Beech). Mirandy and Teddy come to an understanding and manage to smile through their trials and tribulations.

Peggy (Love) is the owner of a lumber camp, and she falls for Clayton, a man from the city (MacDonald), who comes to the camp. Clayton's sister invites Peggy to come to the city, where she attends school, and becomes a "modern woman." When Peggy returns to the camp, it is revealed that she was never the true owner of the lumber camp, but this does not matter to Clayton, who is love with Peggy.

Sam and Charlotte are divorcing after forty years of marriage. Charlotte convinces Sam to wait until after their grown children (Hank and Eleanor), grandchildren (Hank's kids Charlie, Bo and Madison), Charlotte's father and sister (Bucky and Emma) and Sam's aunt (Fishy) have enjoyed one last "perfect Christmas" before announcing the planned divorce. As scenes shift back and forth across the Cooper family members, their memories also briefly appear on screen as younger versions of themselves.

Hank, already struggling through his recent divorce from Angie, loses his job as a family holiday photographer when replaced by a machine. Eleanor has flown in but stays in an airport bar rather than going straight to her parents’ house. She meets Joe, a soldier snowed in for at least another day at the airport. Talking about their different points of views and stances on relationships, Eleanor reveals that she is secretly dating a commitment-free married man. She hates how her parents judge her for not being in a relationship, so she convinces Joe to pretend to be her boyfriend at the family dinner.

Bucky is a regular at a local diner, where he has befriended Ruby, a 20ish waitress who is unsettled. They get into a serious argument when he learns that she is leaving town to a random spot on the map, made worse by telling others but being "too cowardly" to tell him. He then apologizes and asks her to join the family dinner. High schooler Charlie drops in on his crush, Lauren, at the holiday store she works—finally making a move and sharing a kiss with her. Emma is arrested by police officer Percy Williams after she attempts to steal a piece of jewelry as a gift for Charlotte. In his car, Emma engages him in conversation, and he relents and lets her go, with a parting advice that she buy Charlotte the most expensive thing she can afford.

Sam and Charlotte continue arguing while preparing dinner. The four generations of Coopers are arriving at the house, along with Joe, Ruby, and Hank's ex-wife, Angie. Joe mistakenly says that he and Eleanor were engaged, instead of saying that they were dating. During the dinner, chaos unleashes when Hank and Angie argue about their divorce, which leads to Bo screaming at them to "just stop fighting". There is a momentary power outage, and when it comes back Eleanor is kissing Joe, Emma is drinking everyone's wine, and Ruby screams when she sees that Bucky has collapsed.

At the hospital, Hank and Ruby walk beside Bucky's gurney as he is being taken for tests. Ruby kisses Bucky on the lips – confusing but deeply touching Hank. In the waiting room, Charlotte argues with Eleanor when she figures out that she is sleeping with Bucky's physician, Dr. Morrisey, so Eleanor crushes her further by admitting that Joe is just a prop from the airport bar whom she "invented". Alone with a sleeping Bucky in his room, Charlotte and Emma argue about their broken relationship as sisters. Joe seems to leave after also realizing Eleanor's affair is with Dr. Morrisey, but she chases after him after locking Dr. Morrisey in a room, and the two share another kiss. Charlie is surprised when Lauren appears in the waiting room, responding to the text he sent her (actually, Bo sent it to "help" him). Hank comforts Ruby as part of their budding relationship. Sam and Charlotte reconcile. Emma, following Officer Percy's advice, buys Charlotte the most expensive thing she can – a shower stool from the hospital's small gift shop. Bucky regains consciousness and walks to the hospital cafeteria, watching from a distance as everyone is happily sharing a "Christmas meal", when fortuitous muzak leads the whole Cooper clan to joyfully dance around the cafeteria.

The film is narrated by the family's St. Bernard, Rags.

As described in a film magazine, Mary (Dalton) is the wife of Jim Bowen (Coxen), a trusted cashier for insurance brokers. John Boland (Barrows) is a district leader and the keeper of a cafe frequented by Alan Perry (McCullough), the wastral son of Bowen's employer. Perry obtains Bowen's endorsement on a fraudulent check and Bowen is arrested, convicted, and sentenced to five years imprisonment. Mary believes her husband is innocent and, suspecting Perry, she applies with Boland to be a singer in his cafe. Boland secretly loves her and hopes that she will obtain a divorce from her convict husband and marry him. Perry becomes infatuated with her and one night follows her home. Meanwhile, her husband has escaped from prison and seeks refuge in his home. Boland, warned of Bowen's escape, notifies the police and the home is surrounded. Boland arrives to find Mary struggling with Perry, and when he attempts to rescue her he is struck down and apparently killed by Perry. Threatening to turn him over to the police for murder, Mary extracts a confession of the fraud from Bowen. The police break into the house and arrest Perry, while the recovered Boland becomes surety for Bowen.

As described in a film magazine, bookkeeper Arthur McArney (Washburn) attempts to live the life of a man about town on $21 a week. He meets Elsa Owenson (Hawley), a pretty stenographer, and falls desperately in love. His rival for her is Sankey, a wealthy broker, whose prodigality puts Arthur in the shade. He has trouble keeping up his end of the contest for Elsa's hand as his taxi and restaurant bills appear staggering to him and his kitten, for whom he traded a ukulele. He arranges a date with Elsa, but then must break it when he is called upon by Hallet (Geldart), his office manager, to work late at night. After Sankey refers to him as a "three dollar a week clerk with rundown heels", Arthur mortgages his salary for weeks and invests $200 in fashionable clothing. The first time he can wear them is for an engagement to escort Elsa to a Halloween party, but again he is called upon to work late at his office. However, he is rewarded with a promotion to a $4,000 a year position. He escorts Elsa home from the party and when he cheerfully pays $10 for their taxi ride, she protests that it could purchase new furniture in their home. But with a new job with increased salary and the prospect of a beautiful bride, Arthur asks, "Why worry about trifles?"

Art is a down-on-his-luck lowlife pianist, whose life has stalled in a grief filled frozen moment – shipwrecked on the lonesome shore of his own life. Sal is a cracked pinball machine; full of energy, light and fun but out of control and dangerously chaotic. Having escaped from Bedlam Psychiatric Hospital, Sal is an easy-going, sweet natured imp of the perverse and agent of trouble.

The two boys meet whilst working as the help at a vile cocktail party for the rich and corrupt. The boys make a connection, finding refuge in each other – the only shipmates on a drunken boat, tossed about on a stormy London sea. At the cocktail party, the elegant and sophisticated Colette reads the dangerously paranoid Impresario’s tarot cards, predicting the demise of the old, bloated and corrupt. This sets in motion a series of strange events that may connect together like a great unseen plan, or may simply be the random coincidences of an uncaring universe.

The boys become caught up in the cogs as they turn, like two rats caught in the machinery of Big Ben, as the cogs drags them ever nearer a terrifying climax. A confrontation between two different natures – the Impresario’s relentless "progress" of greed and brutality, and the boys’ urge for freedom, friendship and beauty. And ever present in the background is the dark and powerful Thames – representing the forces of nature, chance and instinct – but who will it back in this battle of heart and imagination versus bestial brutality?

As described in a film magazine, Toby Watkins (Ray) is a farmhand who writes poetry for the local paper, the Sabert ''Weekly Clarion'', much to his uncle's disgust. Following a quarrel in which he beats his uncle, he is ordered away from home. He gets a position at the paper as a bill collector and is soon elevated to the foreman of the composing room. Kendall Reeves (MacDonald), a crook, comes to town and plans to mulct the populace by starting a canning factory. A tramp printer recognizes Reeves as a former jailbird and makes him agree to split with him. Toby overhears the plot and when Bartrum (Lockney), the editor, becomes too ill to speak in opposition to the scheme, Toby agrees to take his place. On the platform, however, Toby loses his nerve and beats an ignominious retreat in the middle of his address. Reeves later attempts to force the mayor, Lot Morris (Filson), to give him $5000 on account at the point of a revolver. The daughter Jean (Novak) calls up Toby who then arrives in time to save the mayor and capture the crook. He also wins the hand of the mayor's daughter.

US intelligence comes in action to discover powerful organization in drug trafficking active in the Mediterranean.

A long time ago, the Yattermen were heroes of justice who fought against the evil Doronbow Gang, exiling them and bringing peace to the Yatter Kingdom. Several generations later, however, the Yattermen have since become corrupt with power while everyone else has been forced to live in poverty and despair. After losing her mother to the Yattermen's selfishness, Leopard, a direct descendant of the gang's leader Doronjo, reforms the Doronbow Gang with Boyacky and Tonzra's descendants, Voltkatze and Elephantus, to rebel against the corrupt Yattermen.

Saltbush Bill tells the story of a successful sheep farmer using the biblical story of Isaac and Jacob as a metaphor.

After a long life of droving Saltbush Bill is appointed a J.P. (Justice of the Peace). But he is disappointed to find no mention of pay until he discovers, in his contract, the line "A magistrate may charge a pound/For inquest on a fire." Bill and the local indigenous population collude to make good use of this provision.

Zero Ukai, a boy who causes a stir as a so-called "Robin Hood" of society, is invited along with his friends to the Dream Kingdom, a part-gambling part-amusement park under construction by the wealthy Muryō Zaizen. Zero and the others are brought together because Zaizen is in search of a "king," in other words his rep player, and he puts all his money on the line in order to succeed in that search, with the reward equaling no less than 100 billion yen. In order to save all the victims of the bank transfer scam with the prize money, Zero takes on the challenge to become the king, but the games are nothing short of the ultimate gambles of life, mind and body.

The story is based on Frances Hodgson Burnett's 1911 book, ''The Secret Garden'', about an orphan who is sent to England to her uncle's house, where she finds a beautiful garden with many secrets.

A bar owner helps lonely people through their heartbreaks and takes a radio DJ under his wing.

Maarten (de Leeuw), a gay music teacher, and his sister Molly (Smulders) have a special relationship with each other. When their parents died, Maarten took over the upbringing of his little sister. He is supported by his best friend Reina (Lineke Rijxman). Because Maarten spent so much time caring for Molly, he effaced himself at the time. One day, Molly announces that she is going to live with her boyfriend Teun (Teun Luikx). Maarten is then confronted with empty nest syndrome.

Maarten meets Arthur (Alwin Pulinckx), who doubts that he is gay. Teun cheats, so Molly also cheats with veterinarian Melvin. She becomes pregnant, but she doesn't know who is the father and doesn't want to know. Teun doesn't want any more contact with her.

Molly gets incurable breast cancer, and goes back to live with Maarten again. Melvin is also with her. Molly gives birth to a healthy son, Finn. Maarten promises her he will care for and raise Finn. Teun only comes along after Molly's death.

The film was shot on locations in The Hague, including the Appeltheater, Den Haag Hollands Spoor railway station and the Hofvijver.

The novel is a satire on old age and concerns Kathleen Hackendorf who has reached the age when she must decide on where she is going to live until the end of her days. She begins to get lost when out of her house and discovers that the government requires her house as right-of-way for a road. In 1754, Kintu Kidda, Ppookino of Buddu Province, in the kingdom of Buganda, sets out on a journey to the capital where he is to pledge allegiance to the new kabaka of the realm. Along the way, a rash action in a moment of anger unleashes a curse that will plague his family for generations. Time passes and the nation of Uganda is born. Through colonial occupation and the turbulent early years of independence, Kintu’s heirs survive the loss of their land, the denigration of their culture and the ravages of war. But the story of their ancestor and his twin wives Nnakato and Babirye endures. So too does the curse. Kintu’s descendants seek to break the burden of the curse and to reconcile the inheritance of tradition and the modern world that is their future. The novel explores the power of a curse in African society and the myth and power that surrounds twins. It describes how the princes of Buganda fought and killed one another for the throne and the role of the Queen Mothers in this power play.

The book starts with a prologue about Kamu Kintu, who is brutally murdered by a mob in Bwaise, a suburb of Kampala, at dawn, on Monday, 5 January 2004. The novel then takes you back to 1750, to the beginning of the curse in the old kingdom of Buganda. ''Kintu'' follows the misfortunes of the Kintu clan more than 250 years ago, blending Ganda oral tradition, forms of myth, folktale and history with biblical elements. The novel explores ideas of transgression, curse and perpetuity, looking back at the history of the Buganda kingdom and tracing the birth of modern Uganda.

In the Philippines during World War II, an American major tries to move a guerrilla unit and group of American refugees to the coast, so they can be rescued by submarine, all the while trying to avoid capture by the occupying Japanese forces. Leopoldo Salcedo played the handsome Filipino guerrilla leader who is in love with a stranded American girl Kathy (Diane Jergens). .

''Glimpses'' explores "lost" moments from Flewelling's popular ''Nightrunner'' series, events alluded to or passed over - Alec's parents and childhood, Seregil's early liaisons in Skala, Seregil and Alec's first night as lovers, and how Seregil and Micum met. Each story offers a new perspective on events readers have speculated about for years.

The published synopsis of the film was listed in ''Reel Life'' states: "Sparks learns, upon visiting his fiancee, Bianca, an art student, that his friend, Tom Brown, a writer, is living across the court. He soon sees that Bianca and Brown are mutually attracted and plans to play a joke upon his friend, which shall make the latter doubt his own sanity. He persuades Bianca to enact a scene with him before the drawn window curtain in which she is attacked by a man with a pistol and drawing a dagger from her bosom, defends herself, killing her assailant. Brown, seeing all this in silhouette on the shade, rushes to Bianca's assistance. He finds her reading peacefully, and is told that the incident must have been an hallucination of his own brain. A few evenings after this Bianca actually is attacked by a burglar. Brown, who now is "on" to the fact that in the former instance his friend Sparks had designs upon him, at first thinks this also is another of Sparks' "jokes". However, he goes stealthily to investigate and is just in time to save the girl, who breaks her engagement to Sparks and marries Brown."

After writing an unfortunate article under a pseudonym (Machiavelli, Jr.) and having it published in a prestigious journal read by diplomats, Stephen Silk is to be banished from the Solar League's capitol on Luna for a time. He is assigned to be the Solar League's new ambassador to the people of Capella IV, New Texas. The position is open because the previous ambassador, Silas Cumshaw, was assassinated.

On the starship taking him to his new posting Silk meets his secretary/bodyguard, a native New Texan named Hoddy Ringo. The briefing books that were given to him tell him little about the New Texans and their culture and the contents of the trunk that was put aboard the ship for him appall him: contrary to the practices of the Consular Service, he will be obliged to dress in native costume and to carry a pair of automatic pistols in ejection holsters. Evidence he finds while surreptitiously searching Hoddy's quarters implies that he's being set up for assassination, with the approval of the Consular Service.

Silk is welcomed to New Texas with a giant barbecue, where he sees a trial and learns that assassination of politicians is a legitimate part of the New Texan political process as long as the assassin can show that his victim “needed killin'”. Back at the embassy he learns more about the murder of Silas Cumshaw, in particular the fact that the killers, three young members of the vile Bonney clan, will be going on trial as assassins, not as common murderers, in three days.

At the barbecue Silk meets Gglafrr Ddespttann Vuvuvu, the ambassador of the z'Srauff, humanoid aliens that look like they evolved from dogs. Part of Silk's mission involves convincing the New Texans to join the Solar League so that the Space Navy can base ships near their planet to counter the threat from the z'Srauff. The Solar League fears the possibility of a z'Srauff sneak attack on the planet.

Silk has determined that he cannot allow the Bonneys to be convicted in the Court of Political Justice, but it's too late to have them tried as common criminals. A conviction would produce a precedent that would devastate the Diplomatic Corps by making every diplomat a legitimate target. Likewise, the Solar League cannot allow the Bonneys to go unpunished.

The last quarter of the story lays out the trial of the Bonney brothers. As amicus curiae Silk introduces evidence to show that the Bonneys assassinated Ambassador Cumshaw at the behest of the z'Srauff. He then persuades the court that it should not have tried the case, because Ambassador Cumshaw was not a politician within the meaning of New Texas law. Having thus got the Bonneys set free, he engages them in a gunfight and kills all three.

Shortly thereafter a z'Srauff battlefleet jumps into Capellan space only to be ambushed by the Solar League's Space Navy and effectively destroyed. After working out a treaty between New Texas and the Solar League, Silk resigns his post, marries a local girl, and takes up residence on New Texas.

The court martial of Private Arthur Hamp who was accused of desertion in Passchendaele, France, 1917. He is defended by Hargreaves.

During the mid-14th century, in Florence, some young people of rich families are fleeing the city haunted by the plague. They take refuge in a large country house, and spend their time there telling stories.

The first story is set in Modena. Messer Gentile Garisendi is in love with Catalina, wife of Nicoluccio. She falls ill and her husband's mother fears that she has plague and will infect others in the household. She insists that she be taken away to the countryside to be cared for away from others. Her husband reluctantly agrees to this plan. On the trip, she dies. The carriage driver dumps her body off in a crypt at an abandoned church. Meanwhile, Gentile who had followed her carriage, sees her body in the crypt. He kisses her, and feels her heart beating. He takes her to his mother's villa where she is nursed back to health. He tells her that he wants to marry her. He invites a group of friends, including Nicoluccio, to see his chosen bride. He poses the question to the gathered group: a loyal servant falls ill and his patron abandons him. If another man picks up the servant, nurses him to health, shouldn't the second man be able to keep the servant? Nicoluccio answers, saying that the original patron has lost his right to have the servant and that he rightfully belongs to the second man. At that moment, Gentile reveals Catalina to the group, saying that she must decide between him and Nicoluccio. Nicoluccio, horrified, says she has come from hell. She looks at him, and says that no, I have come from paradise. She rejects him, remembering how he did not stay with her and turned her out in her illness.

In the second story: in Florence the oaf Calandrino apprentices in an art studio of a famous painter. Two of his fellow apprentices trick him by telling him of a stone that has the power to make people invisible. They go with him to the riverside to find such a stone. He finds one and they pretend that he is invisible. They convince their neighbors to play along with the ruse. Calendrino returns, carrying this stone, thinking that he is invisible, stealing gold from his neighbors' pouches, leering at a young woman, kicking the cane out from under the master painter. He arrives home and his wife, who doesn't know of the trick, looks at him and tells him his dinner is ready. He is horrified, believing that she has somehow cast a spell to drain the stone of its power. He accuses her of witchcraft and beats her. The story ends with her holding the stone above his head as he is eating at the dinner table.

Third story is set in Salerno. Duke Tancredi marries his daughter Ghismunda to a rich, older man. Soon after, the rich husband dies, and she falls in love with a handsome young man, a metal smith who works for her father. The father finds out, becomes enraged, and has him killed, later serving his heart to Ghismunda in a goblet of her lover's making. Ghismunda is torn by grief, and she melts the heart and adds poison to it. Ghismunda drinks the poison and dies.

City of Certaldo. One night, the nuns of the convent discover a nun in the arms of a man, and go to reveal this adultery to the mother superior. Unbeknownst to them, the mother superior is hiding her own lover in her chamber. So, in her hurry to dress, the mother superior confuses her headgear for the long johns of her lover. As she is passing judgment on the transgressing sister, her own secret is thus discovered by the nuns. At the end of the story, the mother superior is forced to pardon the sisters, and declares that God made everyone to have elements of sinners and saints within their souls, so each of them can bring lovers to the convent, as long as the news of the adulterers does not leave.

The last story: the knight Federico Alberighi is in love with Giovanna, but she does not love him. He spends all his money in courtship and has nothing left but a falcon. She marries another man, with whom she has a son. Years later, the man dies and she moves to a villa, which happens to be near Federico's country property. Her son befriends Federico and begins to learn falconry. Her son falls ill and asks for the falcon as a gift. Giovanna goes to Federico's home to discuss this with him. While she is there, he realizes that he has nothing to serve Giovanna for dinner, and so he kills the beloved falcon to make her dinner. She realizes this, and is horrified. The son later dies and Giovanna moves away. Eventually, her brothers come to find Federico and tell him that the time has come for her to remarry, but she will have no other suitor but Federico. They ask if he will accept her offer and he does.

As described in a film magazine, Simpson Hightower (Washburn), known as Simp, leaves his hometown as a failure. He has been cheated out of the local canning factory, which had been in the family for two generations, by Stephen Douglas (Hatton). Douglas also won Tiny (Thurman), the girl of Simp's dreams. Simp goes to New York and works at Platt's Provision Factory, and holds the job for a considerable time until he makes a bonehead mistake and gets fired. Henry Platt's (Roberts) stenographer, Hope (Hawley), who has become fond of Simp, concocts a scheme to reestablish Simp by his posing as a millionaire in a nearby town with her as his secretary and Jimmy Borden (Rosson), the office boy, as his valet. Simp decides to go Hightower, his hometown. The town makes great preparations for the return of its successful son, and Simp arrives and is greeted by its prominent citizens. With his luck turning, he closes a contract for Platt, his old employer, with a commission of $5,000. Douglas, who let the canning factory go to pieces, is willing to sell out for that amount. Simp buys the place and is immediately approached by Platt, who has received word that his factory has burned down. Since he cannot fulfill the contract, Platt demands return of the $5,000. But Simp takes over the contract, borrows some money from the town banker, and is well on the way to his fortune. As his boyhood sweetheart Tiny now weights two hundred pounds, his youthful illusion has faded and he begins to look to Hope with the eyes of love.

''Dead Sun'' was set in the far future of the ''Legacy of Kain'' world, long after the events of ''Soul Reaver'' and ''Legacy of Kain: Defiance'' (2003). Players would control new protagonists Gein, a vampire, and Asher, a human, whose souls became intertwined as they travelled the land of Nosgoth.

According to leaked material, Gein's/Asher's character arc would escalate from a quest for revenge to a journey which would decide the fate of the world. The plot concerned the mystery surrounding a vampire child, and revolved around the character of The Elder God. Thematically, it focused on religion.

Square Enix Europe community manager George Kelion said that the game would have rebooted or retconned the series' established mythology, and only utilized returning characters "in the broadest possible terms." Kelion likened its prospective impact on the fiction to that of the ''Star Trek'' reboot series.

The Hylden race did not appear in the story. Concept art indicated that the Silenced Cathedral from ''Soul Reaver'' would reappear.

David Saxon is an American who after fighting in Vietnam deserts and finds a haven in Sweden. Saxon's younger brother was killed in the war and is mourned as a hero, whilst himself was disowned by his family - parents, wife and children. Being young, he decides to start a new life in the capital of Sweden, Stockholm. He learns Swedish, makes friends, and finds a job as a janitor in a school. Through his work he gets acquainted with many of the children and young adolescents, some of which come from Stockholm's more troubled suburbs. Among them are Selma and Joppe, sister and brother. Later, after Saxon's retirement, Selma runs away from home and asks the former janitor for help and shelter. Her brother, who since he left school has been searching his fortune in the criminal world of the capital, has been found murdered. Selma's determination to find the murderer is as strong as Saxon's will to get to know young Selma under her tough surface.

As described in a film magazine, Hairpin Harry Dutton (Hart) is released from prison after serving ten years of a fourteen-year sentence. His old friend Boston Blackie (Long) takes him to San Francisco where he learns that Polly (Hansen), the wife he believed to have faithful, has divorced him and married the policeman who testified against him. He meets his ten-year-old son surreptitiously and they become great friends. Polly learns of his presence, and her husband promises to "plant a gun on him" and send him back to prison. The boy hears this and innocently tells his father in time. Harry then goes to the detective's home and is about to brand his former wife on her cheek for her faithlessness when his son intervenes and asks Harry to take him away. Harry leaves the woman unharmed and takes his son, and they find happiness in the wilderness.

The movie features a large dragon illustration behind the opening and closing credits. Monty Montague disappears after diving into a natural pool of water on an estate. Several people dive in, but there is no trace of him. Philo Vance and the District Attorney come to investigate and decide to drain the pool. They are told that there are potholes near the pool, and Montague's body is found at the bottom of a very deep pothole. His body has claw marks on it, consistent with the superstition that a dragon inhabits the pool.

Inspired by Korean culture's strong stigma against adoption, the film stars Gil Hae-yeon and Ahn Ji-hye as a mother and daughter living on a farm in South Korea. When the teenage daughter becomes pregnant, a woman (Yoon Da-gyeong) arrives from Seoul to propose a secret adoption, conditional on her staying with them for the duration of the pregnancy so that she can hide the adoption when she returns to Seoul after the baby's birth.

As described in a film magazine, Royal Beaudry (Ray) returns from college to a small western town and opens up a law office. His father, a famous sheriff, had been murdered twenty previously by the Rutherford gang, who still own a range and terrify the county. Following a robbery and the recovery of the money by Dave Dingwell (Lockney), Dave is captured and held prisoner on the Rutherford range, tortured by the gang in hope of regaining the money, which he has hidden. Beaudry overcomes his fear and goes to the Rutherford place in attempt to determine Dave's whereabouts. The Rutherford gang learns his identity and Beaudry is wounded in a battle with the gang. Beulah Rutherford (Owen) falls in love with him. Dave is rescued. Later, in town, Beaudry meets the bully of the gang and bests him in a street brawl. Beulah and Beaudry continue their courtship while members of the Rutherford gang decide to reform and become respectable citizens.

The story takes place 500 years after humans first ventured outside of the solar system. The Beta (or ''Mora'', as they call themselves), a once-spacefaring culture, has fled with the remainder of their civilization to Ecosystem 9 (which they call ''Falkannan''), the planet the game takes place on, from an unknown threat they call the Silent Ones. During a test firing of the wormhole they meant to use to return to the stars, they are attacked by enemies coming through the portal, or "Keyhole". These advanced drone units are first suspected to belong to the Silent Ones but are later revealed to be human in origin. As the conflict between the Beta settlers, led by Aran (Commander) Saruk, and the human forces intensifies, an explosion in orbit scatters wreckage all over their colony, from which the Goo emerge and attack both sides.

After a long history of war and exploration in space, during which no intelligent life was found, humans had returned to planet Earth in an attempt to seek peace and stability in a post-scarcity society guided by AI. A signal is detected from the distant planet Ecosystem 9 in the outer Crux Arm, and the starship ''LSV Darwin'', captained by Lucy Tak, is sent to investigate. Landing forces are engaged by the Beta (who are designated as such by the humans because their original planet was the "beta candidate" for intelligent life during previous radio telescope surveys, but subsequent investigation did not receive any more signals — likely a consequence of the Silent Ones' attack) and collect samples from the surface, including Goo, which promptly escapes and destroys the ''Darwin'', reaching the Beta colony site in the re-entering wreckage. Despite their initial conflict, the Beta and the now-stranded humans agree to an alliance to destroy the Goo that threatens them, which is revealed to be part of the artificially intelligent "''Pathfinder''" Von Neumann probe system sent from Earth centuries prior to chart the galaxy in advance of the human expansion. The probes were believed to have been decommissioned when exploration was abandoned, but presumably the Goo on Ecosystem 9 somehow altered its own programming, becoming self-directing.

After sacrificing himself to destroy what was believed to be the last Goo on the planet, the robotic human commander Singleton's consciousness merges with the Goo. It is revealed that the Goo are attempting not to consume life, but rather to protect it from "the growing shroud of Silence" that is expanding across the galaxy — the same unknown force that destroyed the Beta civilization. All previous hostile actions were merely attempts to expand in order to effectively defend the planet. With Singleton's assistance, the Goo fights back from the brink of extinction and carves a path to the Beta's Keyhole device in the hope of contacting and reuniting with the scattered Goo across the galaxy, to stand united against the Silence. Singleton attempts to negotiate with the Humans and Beta, but the Goo is forced to destroy the opposing armies. Defeated, Saruk, Tak and others who were spared watch as countless Goo masses emerge from Keyholes across the planet. In an after-credits scene it is hinted that the "growing silence" has discovered Ecosystem 9. In an update after this, the "growing silence" was revealed as the newly added fourth playable faction, the shroud.

Emanuelle Richmond Morgan (Shulamith Lasri) is an African American supermodel married to basketball star Fred Morgan (Percy Hogan). She had visited Beirut in July 1976 and fell in the centre of the Lebanese Civil War. She has been going through a state of amnesia since then, kept at a mental institution in Manhattan. Dr. Paul Gardner (Angelo Infanti) who is in charge of the clinic takes a special interest in Richmond's case and begins to personally investigate her past, starting with the photographer John Farmer (Franco Cremonini) who was with her in Beirut.

Edward Ekubo (David Oyelowo) is a case officer for the British Security Service, MI5. He is keeping Waleed Ahmed (Arsher Ali), a British citizen of Yemeni descent, under surveillance because he believes that Ahmed has been radicalised and is planning a terrorist attack in the UK. However, his supervisor and head of section are sceptical due to the lack of solid evidence. Ekubo feels his instincts are ignored and his career prospects stifled because he is black and studied at Warwick University rather than Oxford or Cambridge.

A hidden camera monitors Ahmed telling a colleague he is attending the wedding of his cousin in Yemen, but Ekubo's informants tell him that there is a long-standing feud between the cousins and he would not have been invited. Ekubo convinces his superiors and the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6) that Ahmed is a threat, and MI6 arrange for him to be followed in Yemen. Ahmed manages to elude them, and Ekubo suggests he may be heading to Cairo to meet with a contact who can assist with manufacturing ricin. Shortly afterwards, he hears that Ahmed has been arrested by Egyptian police along with several other men at a farm growing castor oil plants, the seeds of which can be used to make ricin.

Ekubo flies to Cairo where he meets the local MI6 officer, Tony Coveney (Stephen Campbell Moore). The men who were arrested with Ahmed admitted to helping manufacture ricin, but have withdrawn their confessions and have clearly been tortured. The British officers question Ahmed, who also claims to have been abused and mistreated, and under their guidelines, they must report his accusation to the British government. Frustrated with the slow progress, Ekubo asks a colleague to find out the name of the interrogating officer from Egypt's State Security Investigations Service—a Colonel Hazem Ashraf (Makram Khoury). The colonel offers to use his persuasive "techniques" to get the address in the UK where Ahmed may have sent the ricin two days ago. Ekubo also visits the farm and finds three aerosol cans missed by the police, which Coveney arranges to be sent to London for analysis.

Once again confounded by further delays in London, Ekubo questions Ahmed on his own. Ahmed claims he is innocent, and that the intercepted emails in which he and his contact refer to 'linen' (which Ekubo believes is code for ricin), are literally referring to bedsheets. He then hints that the ricin is already in the UK, and goads Ekubo about his colour until he throws him to the floor. Ekubo calls Colonel Hazem to ask for his help, and meets him at a coffeehouse the next day, where the colonel hands him an address in Derby. When Ekubo and Coveney return to the police station, Ekubo realises that the Colonel's claims to have used psychological techniques on Ahmed are false, as he has clearly been physically tortured. The address then turns out to be false, although one of the aerosol cans tests positive for ricin.

Ekubo returns to London, and is called into the office of the head of Section G. She tells him that his meeting at the coffeehouse with Hazem has been photographed by an activist blogger in Egypt who is investigating the colonel, and the story is about to go public. He is suspended with immediate effect, and it is suggested that he re-think his career. With his career in the service essentially over, Ekubo watches as Ahmed and his lawyer announce a lawsuit against the British government, and wonders if the ricin is out there in the UK.

As described in a film magazine, Genevieve Rutherford Hale (Martin), pampered daughter of wealthy parents, decides to become a farmerette to help win the war. She arrives at the Hubbard farm in her limousine and goes to work with a group of other young women. Bob Hubbard (Welch), the youngest son of farmer Hubbard (Cummings), falls in love with Genevieve, and when he enters an army training camp life becomes so distasteful that he goes AWOL and returns home. Genevieve persuades him to return to camp, but they are discovered together and the elder Hubbard sends the young woman away. Bob obtains a leave of absence and goes home to explain things to explain things to his father, and Genevieve's name is cleared in the eyes of the farmer and farmerettes. Bob becomes a good soldier and determines to marry Genevieve when the war is over.

Hi Jenkins is a cranky farmer who is disliked by the whole village, including the spinster whom Jenkins wants to marry. Jenkins takes big losses while playing poker and heads to New York City to forget his problems. In New York, an actor takes an interest in impersonating Jenkins and an "accidental meeting" is arranged. The actor studies Jenkins and goes back to the cranky farmer's hometown and becomes popular with the people. The actor also wins at poker and regains the spinster's interest. The actor returns and informs Jenkins to be silent and all will be well when he returns home. Jenkins returns and finds himself to be well-liked, marries his spinster love interest and is no longer cranky.

Mir-Hashem is a young cleric whose wife has left him because of his angry creditors and his fertility problems. One of the creditors persuades Mir-Hashem to go for propagation and get the money from people.

As described in a film magazine, Angela Deming (Mason), a daughter of wealth who seeks to postpone love indefinitely, is sought in marriage by Joseph Whitely (Stanley), capitalist, Eliot Slade (Carewe), idle rich, and William Hanley (Jones), just a boy. She keeps them all at bay until she accidentally learns that her father is facing bankruptcy. Without his knowledge she marries Whitely at once, realizing after the ceremony that she loves him. Hanley, believing himself justified, tells Whitely that she married him for his money. Whitely denounces her and they part. But after Whitely quickly learns the truth and seeks to find his lost bride. Angela applies for a divorce and accepts Slade's proposal as effective as soon as the divorce is granted. A rumored accident involving Whitely brings Angela back to a realization of her love. When the two finally locate each other both are ready for a reconciliation.

As described in a film magazine, Jack Merrill (Washburn), wealthy apostle of idleness, is advised by his physician to "find something to do" if he want to live long. His valet, posing as Lord Sidney, seeks to win the hand and fortune of newly rich Mrs. Parkin (Farrington), who has had her relative Peter Remwick (Brower) declared insane and confined to an asylum. Janet Remwick, his daughter, is permitted to stay on as secretary. Merrill learns of his valet's exploits and Janet's predicament, and masquerades as a nobleman to gain entry into the house. Peter Remwick escapes and returns to the house followed by his captors. Jack is instrumental in establishing Peter's sanity, proving Mrs. Parkin a crook, and winning Janet.

The film chronicles the hunt and trial of a 1990s serial killer, dubbed "The Beast of the Bastille".

Retired vet Amandus (Dieter Hallervorden) suffers from Alzheimer's disease. A speech he holds at his wife Margarete's funeral reveals his deteriorating mental state. When his son Niko (Til Schweiger) and his granddaughter Tilda (Emma Schweiger) visit him, they see that he can no longer live on his own because of his mental condition. Niko convinces Amandus to move into his house near Hamburg.

Niko is married to Sarah (Jeanette Hain), but their marriage is in danger because his wife has a romance with her boss Serge (Jan Josef Liefers). Amandus's presence in the household causes disputes between Niko and Sarah. For example, Amandus nearly causes a fire in the kitchen while trying to bake a cake, which Sarah only prevents in the nick of time.

While Amandus's mental state continues to degrade, a summer fête is thrown in the garden. Because of his disease, Amandus causes a disaster which leads to Sarah moving out. Niko now believes that moving his father to a retirement home has become inevitable, however his daughter Tilda does not think that this is the way Amandus should be treated. Instead, she wants to travel to Venice with her grandfather, where he and his wife Margarete had spent their honeymoon. Tilda is told by her paediatrician Dr. Ehlers (Tilo Prückner) that visiting places the sick person knows well can help living with the disease. They start their trip by car, but soon get into a car crash which is caused by Amandus ignoring a red traffic light. Tilda then decides that they should go by train, which also fails when Amandus accidentally leaves the train. Tilda pulls the emergency brake to stop the train and runs after him. The police are now searching for them, so they hide in a toilet cabin. In the evening, the janitor Erdal (Fahri Yardim) finds them and helps the two continue their journey to Venice. Going by a sheep lorry, they get stopped by the police but manage to flee before they get caught, and find shelter in a monastery. The Mother Superior (Claudia Michelsen) is so touched by their story that she drives Tilda and Amandus to Venice.

Niko and Sarah also arrive in Venice, looking for Tilda and Amandus. They check into the same hotel as Niko and Sarah, but they don't notice each other. Amandus leaves the hotel at night. Tilda notices in the morning, goes looking for him, and finds him sitting on a bench. It is revealed that while on honeymoon in Venice, Amandus had sat on that bench with his wife Margarete. His condition has advanced so far that he forgets he has a granddaughter, so he doesn't recognise Tilda. At that moment, Niko and Sarah find Tilda and Amandus, and the four travel back to Hamburg.

Sarah decides to stop working so that she can take care of Amandus. The marriage of Niko and Sarah is saved when Sarah gives birth to a baby boy nine months later, whom they name after his grandfather. Amandus spends his remaining days contently with his family, and dies of cardiac failure in Tilda's presence. At the funeral, Tilda lies in the grass and looks to the sky, because Amandus had promised he would protect her from heaven.

As described in a film magazine, Mary Marbury (Dalton), a traveling saleswoman for Abbott and Son and incidentally the fiancée of Raymond Abbott (MacLean), the son, returns from a trip to find that Raymond and his sister Lois (Johnson) are spending afternoons and evenings with Fernando Poyntier (Leigh), a pseudo Russian nobleman, and his supposed sister Marcia (Travis). With the assistance of Jonas Abbott (Stevens), father of Raymond and Lois, she decides to bring them to their senses. Consequently, she speeds up a bit with Jonas as her companion. At about the time she has worried Raymond that she will marry his father, Fernando and his supposed sister rob the house. The plot is further complicated by Fernando attempting to double-cross his confederate and elope with Lois. Mary stumbles onto the truth while on a yacht trip with the elder Abbott. The arrest of the crooks follows and Mary wins back Raymond.

Rodrigo is a young Italian surgeon who leaves Italy to volunteer at a field hospital in Syria, where there are a large number of innocent victims of violence of war as a result of the ongoing civil war.
He was called to this location to help with as many of the resulting medical emergencies as possible.
Just before leaving his home in Italy, his girlfriend Sofia tells him she is expecting a baby, hoping to convince him to stay. Finding himself at a very important moment in his life, in which he is becoming a father for the first time, Rodrigo's determination to carry on with his commitment as a doctor causes an argument with Sofia. This argument results in Sofia unwillingly accepting Rodrigo's decision to leave.
Once Rodrigo arrives at the Syrian field hospital (located at the Syrian-Turkish border), he immediately becomes aware of the difficult place where he has ended up.
He spends days witnessing the disturbing consequences of violence and finds himself saving primarily children, who continuously arrive at the hospital in critical condition.
Here, Rodrigo learns about "the green parrots", little landmines disguised as parrot-shaped toys. These boobytraps are scattered all over the territory to attract unsuspecting victims who are mostly children.
One day, exhausted from having to watch the horror and violence as just a spectator and without intervening, Rodrigo loses his self-control and impulsively takes action in such a way that goes against the local code of ethics. As described in a film magazine, following his performance at a Montana rodeo, cowboy Lem Beason (Hart) accepts the invitation of Chicago banker Gregory Collins (Hall) to come to the city and take a position of watchman at the bank, recent robberies having resulted in the death of the last two watchmen. Carl Bruner (Mayall), Collins' trusted lieutenant, is the instigator of the thefts and sends Beason to the underworld on a false clue, planning his quiet murder. However, Beason comes out unscathed and convinced of Bruner's duplicity. Collins's petted daughter Janet (Mitchell) parades the westerner for the benefit of a gay house party, and Rose (Novak), a poor relation, aids Beason in his escape. He resigns his bank job, but stays in town one more night, knowing that there will be another attempted theft at the bank. He captures Bruner and his aides and exposes them to Collins. Collins buys Beason a ranch in the west and he convinces Rose to share it with him.

Rosie, a teenage girl in Belgium, attempts to deal with her dysfunctional family and an adult world that she does not understand.

The Chosen Vessel follows the story of a young mother and baby who are left home alone in the isolating Australian Bush. When a swagman stops by one day looking for food, the mother provides him with some. He then goes and sets up camp near her home. Later that night he returns to the mother's home and begins to break in. In the distance the mother hears a horse and runs to try and get help, however the horseman continues on without aiding her. The swagman then catches her, resulting in her rape and murder. The last part of the story has Peter Hennessey find the woman as he heads to town to vote. But he believes the mother to be Virgin Mary and a sign from God that he should change his vote to that of his mother's choice and continues to ride on. Later that day he goes and talks to the priest about his vision and the priest tells him what he really saw.

Fulvio arrives in a small town in Campania, after being fired from the company where he worked. In the country, Fulvio stays with his brother, Don Germano, the minister. Fulvio understands that the situation in the country is desperate. Don Germano reveals that the situations is dire because Upper Citadel does not come in tourism, so the amenities are ancient as the citizens. Fulvio notices a loose panel on the ceiling of the chapel that pours water on the face of the statue of St. Thomas. Fulvio as a management professional researches about miracles and makes plans. One day, while Fr. Don Germano is celebrating Mass, a devout old woman sees these drops, believes they are tears and declares to the others that it is a miracle. The news spreads, and so leads to pilgrimages from cities all over Italy to see the statue of the sad saint. Fulvio exploits this to the maximum with various branding and marketing strategies. This brings economic benefit for the town as well as the orphanage. However, members of the Lower Citadel are not happy with popularity and the Vatican wants to see clearly on the matter ...meanwhile Fulvio is lovestruck and is offered a job in the city. Does the town get a second-chance, will there be a divine intervention.

Does Fulvio get together with his love, does he get the new job. Does the town's problem be solved by Fr. Germano, can Fr. Germano convince the Vatican curators....All this puzzles are portrayed in this hilarious movie with backdrop of a country.

As described in a film magazine, village blacksmith Andy Fletcher (Ray) is about to purchase a new car when Laban Flint (Marks), the town banker, warns him to stay clear of his daughter Alice (Hawley) with the vehicle. Since Alice was the cause of Andy's desire in making the purchase, he is dissuaded. But a lucky trade brings a motored relic into his possession and Flint is pacified. During a drive into the country with Alice and her father, the car breaks down and an estrangement ensues when Alice departs in the elegant machine of Alden J. Armitage (McKim), a wealthy investor recently come to Piperville. Some time later Armitage arranges an automobile race and Andy enters his chassis. While the race is on, Armitage robs the bank and flees. Andy pursues in his car and captures the robber.

After crashing in the Amazon rainforest, pilot Jeb Logan leads his small group of passengers on a desperate journey of survival.

As described in a film magazine, boy orator Abraham Lincoln Jones (Truex) works in the mayor's office and emulates his namesake, believing that he had a sure accession to the boss's chair. But the war took him away, mussed him up, and shot him back home on sick leave. He finds the home town is not the same. A couple of "Women's Rights" specialists had vested and panted the female populous, while males were minding the babies and doing housework. One young woman retained frills and furbelows, the dreaded dressmaker's daughter. Abe takes hold of the town and young woman and proves himself a man.

Nell Fanshawe (Martin) has so many suitors that she does not know what to do, and against her parents’ wishes she looks with favor upon John Stanley (Graves), who works in the village drug store. John becomes ambitious and goes to New York City to seek his fortune. He sells some valuable rugs to a wealthy lady and is persuaded by a discharged clerk to try his hand at cards. After he loses all of the firm's money in a poker game, he runs away. Nell goes to the city, obtains work in the same firm, and after she eventually finds John gets his position restored so in the end they find happiness.

Donald Duck is cooking pancakes in his kitchen, singing "Shortnin' Bread", when two chipmunks, Chip 'n' Dale, get wind of the smell wafting through their home in the stovepipe while eating acorns. Once inside, they steal a few of Donald's pancakes by throwing a fork tied to a piece of string, but Donald soon discovers the chipmunks, and puts down a pot holder on his stack of pancakes for them to catch, but the chipmunks throw it back. They throw the fork again, but it misses the pancakes and it hits a bottle of rubber cement, causing it to spill. It forms into a fake pancake, giving Donald an idea. He puts down the "pancake" and when the chipmunks catch it, Donald grabs onto it. He then lets go of it while the chipmunks are pulling it. The chipmunks try taking a bite out of it and get into a tug of war with it, until Donald puts down a fork which pokes Chip while he is walking backwards, causing him to yelp in pain and let go of the "pancake". It hits the wall and springs back, hitting Donald in the face. Donald furiously chases the chipmunks and they hide in the toaster. But Donald pulls down the lever and waits. The chipmunks pop out and Donald catches them, but Dale bites his finger, causing him to shout in pain and let the chipmunks go. They then catch the pancakes with the string and bring them up to the roof, but Donald grabs the rubber cement pancake and tugs on it, tying up his entire house in the process. He climbs up to the roof, but Dale applies butter to the roof and has Donald lift his foot as he puts butter under it, causing Donald to slide down. He is then sent on a wild ride and unties the house. The cartoon ends with Donald jammed in the stovepipe, grimacing in an Asian stereotype and Dale imitating him as the chipmunks celebrate their victory.

A man mistakes another man's wife as that man's daughter and starts a love affair with her.

As described in a film magazine, Nora Nolan (Mason) works in the basement of a large department store. When she faints from the heat, she is advised to take a vacation. Jimmie Norton (McDonald), a newspaper reporter gathering materials for a hot weather story, overhears her say that she has but $4.12 to her name, so he borrows $200 from his wealthy father and sends it to Nora, and she departs for Winchester-by-the-Sea. Jimmy follows after being discharged by the newspaper and thrown on his own resources by his father. After a crook steals Nora's money, she is snubbed by the other hotel guests and ends up becoming a dishwasher to pay for her room. After overhearing some crooks planning to rob the hotel safe, she keeps them at bay with a frying pan while Jimmie's father Patrick (Gordon), who has conveniently arrived at the scene, binds them. The film ends with a final closeup of Nora and Jimmie.

The telenovela follows the lives of four women (Bárbara Mujica, Iris Láinez, Delfy de Ortega and Angélica López Gamio) who work in a beauty institute. They are of different ages, social stratums, and lifestyles. Each week, the show is dedicated one woman to allow for the participation of a larger cast. The telenovela aired for seven seasons, until it ended in 1970. To withdraw from the cast Bárbara Mujica, was incorporated in principle to Thelma Biral, and then joined the plot a fifth protagonist, a role that was played in some seasons by Claudia Lapacó and others by Silvina Rada.

Henry (Gordon) is getting married and heads to Argentina with his best mates for an epic bachelor party trip. Henry and his best man, Leon (Bewley), and close friends Roy (Noble) and Terence (Doolan) arrive at a remote village in the foothills of the Andes and are surprised to find Henry's buddy Max (Abili) is already there. Amongst the drunken antics of the five boys something is wrong - Max seems unhinged and there warnings from the locals about a mysterious figure known as 'The Hunter'. The next morning they head out on a trek into the mountains that nobody really wants to go on. Tempers fray, old arguments reemerge and soon Terence storms off. The group soon find a bloody shirt but it is unclear what has happened. But not everything is as it seems and soon an elaborate scheme for revenge goes horribly awry.

After coming of age, Corrin is sent by Garon to inspect a Hoshidan fortress above the Bottomless Canyon. However, one of Garon's men, Hans, provokes a battle with the Hoshidans and throws Corrin's mentor Gunter into the Canyon. Corrin is found and captured by Hoshidan soldiers, who recognize them as a long-lost member of the Hoshidan royal family. Corrin is brought to meet their blood relatives and Azura at the capital city. However, soldiers attack the city and a hooded assassin attempts to kill Corrin. Mikoto shields them at the cost of her life. In the aftermath, Corrin comes into possession of a legendary sword called Yato, said to belong to the one who will save the world. In the opening battle between the two kingdoms, Corrin's two families meet, and Corrin is forced to choose between siding with Hoshido and Nohr. In the ''Birthright'' and ''Conquest'' routes, Corrin chooses either their biological or adopted family, respectively. This causes them to be denounced by the other side, and they are gradually forced to fight them.

In the ''Birthright'' route, Corrin helps their Hoshidan kin defend their country from invasion by Nohr. After confrontations with Corrin, Camilla and Leo's lives are spared. With the help of Elise and Shura, the man who kidnapped Azura from Nohr, Corrin and their company invade the Nohrian capital. Elise is killed when she attempts to stop Corrin and Xander from fighting, and Xander falls into despair and forces Corrin to kill him. Corrin then faces Garon, killing him with the Yato after it is infused with added power from Ryoma and Takumi's Legendary Weapons. However, Azura dies after having overused her singing powers to weaken Garon. In the epilogue, Ryoma is crowned king of Hoshido and Leo is crowned king of Nohr, and peace is forged between the two kingdoms.

In the ''Conquest'' route, Corrin both fights in the war against Hoshido, and works with their adoptive family to change Nohr's brutal reputation from within. One night, Corrin finds Azura wandering alone and follows her, ultimately being transported into the invisible kingdom of Valla. There, Azura reveals that King Garon has been replaced by an impostor. Corrin then decides to have Garon sit upon the magical throne of Hoshido, which will remove the false Garon's disguise. During the invasion of Hoshido, the Nohrians spare Hinoka and capture Sakura, while Takumi, whose behavior has become increasingly erratic and violent throughout the war, apparently dies by jumping off of a rampart. Garon orders Corrin to kill Ryoma. After their fight, Ryoma spares Corrin the pain of killing their own brother by killing himself. Infusing the Yato with the power of Xander and Leo's Legendary Weapons, Corrin confronts and kills the false Garon. However, a crazed Takumi suddenly appears and attacks them, and it is revealed he has been long dead and his body is possessed. Corrin destroys Takumi's body to free his soul. Azura overuses her powers as in the ''Birthright'' route, but her death is not seen and she is instead marked as missing. In the epilogue, Hinoka is crowned queen of Hoshido and Xander is crowned king of Nohr, and a peaceful alliance between the two kingdoms is formed.

In the ''Revelation'' route, Corrin rejects both Hoshido and Nohr, and is denounced as a traitor by both. They flee with Azura and one of their retainers through the Bottomless Canyon to the kingdom of Valla. Azura explains that the king of Valla, the dragon Anankos, has plans for humanity's destruction; he is the one who killed and replaced Garon, and he is responsible for Takumi's descent into madness in the ''Conquest'' route. Azura also reveals her history as the daughter of the king Anankos usurped, and that a curse placed by Anankos will kill them if they reveal Valla's existence to anyone outside its borders. The two decide to kill Anankos. Fleeing Valla with Gunter, who survived his fall into the chasm, Azura reveals that they must unite Corrin's twin families before a natural event which will seal the passage for decades. Corrin travels through Hoshido and Nohr, gradually gaining the trust and allegiance of their hereditary and adopted families. They also learn that their sword Yato is the "Seal of Flames", which when combined with the other families' Legendary Weapons will become the Fire Emblem, capable of killing Anankos. Once the group enter Valla, the party heads to confront Anankos. During their journey, they battle the resurrected bodies of Mikoto, Azura's mother Arete, and Sumeragi, the latter of whom is revealed to be Mikoto's assassin. During their battle with Mikoto, Corrin learns that they and Azura are maternal cousins, making Corrin heir to Valla's throne. The group is eventually betrayed by Gunter, who was possessed by Anankos since first coming to Valla, but Corrin succeeds in freeing Gunter from Anankos' control. When they face Anankos, they are initially helpless, but Ryoma, Takumi, Xander, and Leo feed the power of their Legendary Weapons into Yato, transforming it into the Fire Emblem. Near death after being defeated, Anankos summons and eats the impostor Garon to regain his strength, but is finally destroyed with the Fire Emblem. In the aftermath, Valla is reestablished on the surface, Azura crowns Corrin its new ruler, and an everlasting peace is established between the three kingdoms.

In early-20th century there is a small island called Sodor, covered almost entirely by a railway network. Edward the Blue Engine, the smallest steam locomotive of four working on the main line, is asked to help push Gordon the Big Engine up a hill that he stalled on, earning it the name "Gordon's Hill". Gordon mentions that Sir Topham Hatt has bought a new engine to shunt coaches. Edward is shunting at Knapford Station when he hears James, another engine who is roughly Edward's size, talking to a green tank engine from London, Brighton and South Coast Railway who introduces himself as Thomas, who explains that he is Sir Topham Hatt's new tank engine. Gordon is rather skeptical of his size, which upsets him, until Sir Topham asks Edward to teach him how to work in the yard. Initially, Thomas occasionally gets in the way and sometimes causes minor accidents. He also cheekily whistles at Gordon one day while he is resting and wakes him up, much to Gordon's annoyance.

That stormy night at Tidmouth Sheds, Thomas meets Henry the Green Engine, who is sickly and paranoid. Edward tells Thomas the story about the time he hid in a tunnel to get out of the rain, scared what it might to do to him. After several fruitless attempts by the passengers, crew, and Sir Topham Hatt to get him out, they gave up and built a wall in front of the tunnel, since no one else could now use the tunnel. Henry stayed there until Gordon burst a safety valve, and had to help him with the express. The following day, Thomas is sent to the Sodor Steamworks where he is repainted blue and given the number 1. Gordon tells Thomas that the last No. 1 engine was a vertical-boilered engine called a coffee pot and orders him to fetch his express coaches. Thomas accidentally tries to take two four-wheeled coaches called Annie and Clarabel, who belong to James but take a liking to Thomas. James later returns Annie and Clarabel to the yard, causing Thomas to notice a burning smell, which James tries to downplay. Soon, seeing Henry at the water tower, Thomas asks him about his fear of the rain. Henry explains that the rain makes him nervous, but Thomas tries fruitlessly to convince him that there is nothing to be afraid of.

The following day, Thomas takes longer to start than usual and arrives at Knapford with Gordon's coaches later than usual. Still cross with Thomas for waking him up, Gordon starts sooner than expected before Thomas can be uncoupled. By the time Gordon reaches Wellsworth, Thomas is worn out and is uncoupled. The next day, he accidentally disturbs two railway cranes named Judy and Jerome, who form the breakdown train, and is told that he must not move them unless there is an emergency. James arrives with a goods train and prepares to take Annie and Clarabel, while Thomas again notices the strange burning smell which is coming from James' wooden brake blocks, which James again attempts to downplay.

The next morning, Henry is ill and Thomas, being the only engine left, is instead asked to pull his train. Unfortunately, Thomas starts too soon and leaves the coaches behind, much to Sir Topham Hatt's dismay. Thomas sadly returns and is coupled to the train, but the big engines tease him about it at Tidmouth Sheds later that night. Edward kindly offers to let Thomas take a goods train for him the next day. However, Thomas gets too excited to take Edward's advice about the Troublesome Trucks which leads him to almost have an accident after they push him down Gordon's Hill. Sir Topham Hatt arrives and tells Thomas he should have been more patient when listening to Edward so he could have learned about trucks. He then orders Thomas and Edward to stay in the yard until Thomas knows enough about trucks as Edward does. During this time, Thomas manages to help Henry overcome his fear of rain.

Later, Thomas and Edward are working when a frightened James rushes by because the Troublesome Trucks are pushing him and cause his wooden brake blocks to catch fire. Thomas chases after James and attempts to couple up behind him to stop him, but he fails and the trucks run James and themselves off the rails at a bend. Thomas returns to Knapford and fetches Jerome and Judy to rescue James, who he takes to the Steamworks. Later that night, everyone congratulates Thomas and Sir Topham Hatt announces that James will have proper brakes and a new coat of paint and Thomas will be rewarded with his own branch line. Everyone is happy for Thomas, except Gordon who asks who will fetch their coaches because of his reluctance to shunt due to his ego. Sir Topham says the other engines will have to fetch their own coaches until he finds another small engine who can.

A few days later, James returns to the yard with new brakes and a coat of scarlet paint, and Thomas is given Annie and Clarabel to run his branch line. He travels around Sodor and when he arrives at Ffarquhar Station, he meets Glynn the "Coffee-Pot" Engine, the previous No.1, who is no longer in service and asks him to look after the branch line and wear the number 1 with pride. One final whistle from Thomas ends the film.

As described in a film magazine, because her wealthy aunt and guardian Heppy (Chapment) is about to evict a poor family that lives on the estate, Lindy (Martin) destroys the letter which she believes demands that they vacate the premises. A robbery is committed in the neighborhood and Dick Ross (Hughes), a reformed crook who has been in Aunt Heppy's services, believes Lindy is in league with the crooks. Lindy thinks that he knows of her fancied crime and half confesses to him. To shield her he is about to confess to the crime when the tramp who is guilty and who had been fed and clothed by the generous Lindy clears up the mystery concerning the robbery. Lindy then tells him of the letter, and he informs her that it was not so important a document as she had imagined, and that she is not in danger of arrest. They then plight their troth.

As described in a film magazine, society girl Cynthia Brock (Dalton) is made penniless by the death of her father and about to relinquish her place in her social circle when Fenwick Flint (Herbert), a wealthy bachelor, persuades her in assisting him in breaking up the happiness and marriage of James and Viola Gordon (Stanley and Boone) so that he may marry the lady. In her weak moment she accepts and soon has James at her feet. Then she falls in love with her victim and refuses to stage the final scene of the scheme that will provide the grounds for the divorce. The situation results in her fainting, and afterwards she tells the truth about the whole matter. James permits the divorce by his wife, and Cynthia returns Fenwick's money and goes to work. In due time she and James marry.

Baby is a getaway driver in Atlanta. As a child he survived a car crash, which killed his parents and left him with tinnitus. He finds catharsis in music, typically using iPods to soothe his tinnitus. Baby ferries crews of robbers assembled by criminal mastermind Doc as recompense for the theft of a car containing Doc's stolen goods. Between jobs, he remixes snippets of conversations he records and cares for his deaf foster father, Joseph. He meets a waitress named Debora, and they start dating. Baby's next robbery goes awry after an armed bystander chases them down, but Baby evades him and the police. Having paid his debt, Baby quits his life of crime and starts delivering pizzas. Doc interrupts Baby's date with Debora and insists he join a post office heist, threatening to hurt Debora and Joseph should he refuse.

The crew consists of easygoing Buddy, his sharpshooter wife Darling, and trigger-happy Bats, who takes an immediate dislike to Baby. When the crew attempts to purchase illegal firearms, Bats recognizes one of the dealers as a covert operative and opens fire. They kill most of the dealers. Afterward, Bats makes Baby stop at Debora's diner, unaware of their romance. Baby, aware of Bats' homicidal habit, stops him from killing her to avoid paying. Doc is furious, revealing that the dealers were dirty cops on his payroll. He decides to cancel the heist, but the crew overrule him. Baby attempts to slip away late that night, hoping to take Debora and leave Atlanta, but he is stopped by Buddy and Bats, who have discovered his recordings and believe he is an informant. Baby convinces them and Doc of his innocence by playing them a tape of one of his remixes.

During the heist, Bats kills a security guard. Disgusted, Baby refuses to drive away, causing Bats to hit him. Baby rams the car into some rebar that impales Bats, killing him; Baby, Buddy, and Darling flee on foot. When Darling is killed in a shootout with police, Buddy blames Baby for her death and vows to kill him. Baby steals a car and flees to his apartment. After leaving Joseph at an assisted living home with his heist earnings, he rushes to get Debora at the diner, where he finds Buddy waiting for him. Baby shoots Buddy and flees with Debora as police swarm the restaurant. Back at the safe house, Doc initially refuses to let Baby take back one of his tapes, even though it only contains his mother singing, but relents when Debora arrives to console Baby. Doc supplies the couple with cash and an escape route out of the country, saying he was also in love once.

The police who survived the arms deal confront Baby, Debora, and Doc in the parking garage, and Doc kills them all. Buddy then arrives and kills Doc, and a cat-and-mouse game ensues until Buddy has Baby at his mercy. He fires a gun next to each of Baby's ears, temporarily deafening him, before Debora hits Buddy with a crowbar. Baby shoots Buddy in the leg and Buddy falls to his death. Debora flees the scene with Baby. The next day, Debora and Baby encounter a police roadblock, and Baby decides to surrender. At his trial, Joseph, Debora, and other people affected by his crimes testify in his defense, citing his acts of compassion and mercy. He is sentenced to 25 years in prison, subject to a parole hearing after five years. Debora stays in contact with Baby during his incarceration, and he reveals that his real name is Miles. She greets him outside the prison gates on the day of his release in a vintage car.

Victoria is a Spanish woman who moved to Berlin and has been living there for three months. She works in a cafe for a meagre wage, and does not know anybody in the city. In addition, she does not speak much German, and her only common language with the people around her is English. Leaving a club at around 4 o’clock in the morning after a night of dancing and drinking, she meets four young men who are denied entry to the club. They are “Sonne” (sun), “Boxer”, “Blinker” (turn signal), and “Fuß” (foot). The men invite her to take a walk through the city and she agrees. After stealing some alcohol from an all night shop, they all get on the roof of an apartment building where they drink and smoke marijuana together, while Boxer reveals that he spent time in jail for hurting someone.

When Victoria tells the others that she has to leave because she must open up the cafe she works at in a short time, Sonne, who was flirting with her the whole time, suggests accompanying her there and she agrees. When Sonne leaves with her, he is told by Boxer to return soon. It is implied that the four men have something important to do this night.

When Victoria and Sonne arrive at the cafe, she invites him in for a cup of coffee, but he insists he only drinks cacao. While the two are alone inside, Sonne notices a piano, tinkles a bit on it and then dares Victoria to also play something. After much coaxing, she sits down and masterfully plays one of the Mephisto Waltzes, deeply impressing and moving Sonne. She then reveals that she had dedicated her whole life to the dream of becoming a concert pianist but had been told a short time ago at her music school that she was not good enough to continue.

Shortly after, an extremely nervous and agitated Boxer arrives and demands that Sonne leave with him immediately. In front of the cafe, the four men steal a car and drive away, only to come back a few minutes later because Fuß, who had been heavily intoxicated before, has now fallen unconscious. A desperate Boxer demands that Sonne ask Victoria to replace Fuß and help them. Sonne is reluctant at first, but finally does what Boxer asked. He tells Victoria that Boxer had been under the protection of gangster Andi while he was in prison and now Andi demands that Boxer pays him back for his services. For this, Andi has asked Boxer to get three allies and bring them to a meeting with him this night. None of the four men knows the purpose of the meeting. To Sonne’s surprise, Victoria immediately agrees to help. She drives Sonne, Boxer, Blinker and Fuß (who is lying in the back of the car) to the meeting place, a parking garage where Andi is waiting with several armed men. He demands that the four rob a certain bank this morning for €50,000. Andi will take €10,000 as payback and leave the rest of the money to them. The four agree to the robbery after Andi threatens to take Victoria hostage if they refuse. They are armed with guns, given a plan of the bank and then forced to take drugs to make them more alert and aggressive.

While Victoria is driving to the bank, Blinker has a panic attack, but the others eventually calm him down. Feeling guilty about involving Victoria and causing his friend's panic attack, Boxer says he will rob the bank alone, but the others, including Victoria, tell him that they will still help. The robbery itself goes smoothly, even though Victoria stalls the car in front of the bank while the others are inside. After leaving the car in a back alley, the four, euphoric after the success of the robbery and still under the influence of the drugs, return to the club to celebrate. While Sonne and Victoria are kissing, Blinker and Boxer in their excitement strip naked on the dance floor, leading to all four being thrown out of the club. Outside, they remember that they have left the unconscious Fuß back in the car. When they return to the back alley, they see that the police have already found the car. Panicking, they leave the scene but are noticed by plainclothes police officers. Boxer, Blinker and Sonne draw their guns and all four run away. A shootout ensues during which Blinker is hit and left behind by the other three. Boxer implores Sonne and Victoria to take the money and flee while he confronts the police. Sonne and Victoria flee to find safety and Boxer is shot at by police.

Sonne and Victoria manage to enter an apartment building unseen, and take a young couple hostage in one of the apartments. When they notice that the couple has a baby, they change clothes, take the baby with them and leave the apartment, under the desperate cries of the mother. When encountered by the police, they manage to give the impression that they are a young family and are allowed to leave the building.

They leave the baby in front of a café across the street and hail a taxi which brings them to a hotel nearby. There, Victoria reserves a room while Sonne waits, writhing in great pain. On the way to their room, Victoria notices that Sonne has been shot. Lying down on the hotel bed, he watches the news, learning that Boxer died during the shootout, and Blinker died while being taken to the hospital. Victoria then notices that Sonne is bleeding profusely from his wound. Sonne urges Vicoria to "go and take the money" as no one knows who she is. Victoria calls an ambulance but Sonne dies a few moments later holding Victoria’s hands and she breaks down crying. After pulling herself together, she notices the money on the floor, picks it up, walks out of the hotel and is seen walking down the street.

As described in a film magazine, left an orphan with $2,000 in cash, Marcel Middleton (Clayton) goes to visit some friends in New York City, where her phenomenal luck in bridge nets her funds for her support. Innocently, she falls in with a fast crowd and finds making ends meet a difficult task. Cleveland Buchanan (Cody) and Julian Chadwick (Cummings) become suitors, but their proposals do not include matrimony. With her luck at cards failing, she becomes indebted to Buchanan. When she refuses his attentions, he resolves to make himself worthy of her honest love and reforms himself. When Marcel obtains an engagement as a cloak model for fashionable customers, Chadwick makes plans for her ruin, but Buchanan rescues her in time and they are married.

When a pastor, Matthew, is shaken to the core by the visible belief of a street-corner preacher, he and a lot of other people who are also struggling with their own problems come together and start to question what their religious beliefs really mean.

As described in a film magazine, enlistee Ulysses S. Grant Briggs (Ray) is bound by his father Thaddeus Briggs (Aitken), a veteran of the Civil War, to emulate his illustrious namesake in all things. He is charged in a court-martial for entering a notorious roadhouse against orders and rescuing Betty Martin (May), a young woman who aspires to the stage and had just taken part in a military camp entertainment, from the wiles of a man posing as a vaudeville agent. His father appears at the camp hearing and insists that his boy must have had a good reason for his action, but his son refuses to speak. Betty considers the disgrace she caused to the young man, comes to the camp and tells her story and secures his acquittal.

Eddie travels to Lysekil to meet his aunt Soffan, and breath freash air, which is healthy because of his asthma. There he becomes friend with a girl named Johanna.

The story is set in Lysekil, where Eddie lives with his aunt Soffan and uncle Malkolm. The Christmas break is almost over. Eddie discovers a group of planks down the shoreline, and decides to build a house.

Eddie is eight years old and will soon begin the second grade at school, where he gets a new schoolteacher. However, he better enjoys the brook near the forest. Meanwhile, his father Lennart has become a non-drinking alcoholic.

Queen Guinevere and others of the court are captured by Sir Mellegrans. Sir Lancelot, while going to save her, loses his horse due to attacking archers. His armor is too heavy to walk in, so he leaves it behind. The fastest option for Lancelot to reach Mellegrans' castle is to ride in a cart, causing much shame to him. Lancelot is successful in saving Guinevere, but continues to be ridiculed for riding in the cart. Annoyed, he leaves the court of the king for two years.

The Story of Sir Gareth of Orkney

Gareth is the youthful and beloved son of King Lot of Orkney and Queen Margaise. Now being of a certain age, his mother sends him to the court of her brother, King Arthur, to become a knight. With him she sends a very noble court to show his great status. Gareth, at first being content, decides he would rather appear as a commoner before the king. Thus he leaves everyone of his court behind except his closest companion, Axatalese. Gareth asks two boons of the king during Pentecost, and it is that he would be able to stay at the court for a year, and be able to ask another boon after one year. He is granted his wish, however, many found it strange. Sir Kay ridicules Gareth, frequently calling him "kitchen boy" and "Beaumains." Sir Gawaine, however, feels a connection with Gareth (though he did not realize it at the time, Gareth was in fact his brother). He teaches Gareth lessons in chivalry. A year soon passes, and the king holds another feast at Pentecost. During this feast, a damsel named Lynette requests from the king a knight who would help defend her sister (who she does not name, by her sister's command) from a Red Knight who pesters her for her hand in marriage. Because the Red Knight is known to be very powerful—even Sir Gawaine claimed he had trouble overthrowing him—and because Lynette will not state her sister's name and degree, no knight offers to help. Gareth, overhearing and onlooking the scene, steps in and asks his second boon: that he may help Lynette's sister. Lynette is ungrateful, for Gareth appears to be no more than just a simple fellow, and his reputation is very bad at court. However, since she is not given any other option, she travels to her home with Gareth and Axatalese to help her. Gareth shows her that he is more than just "Beaumains the kitchen boy" by overthrowing many knights valorously—even Sir Lancelot, who knighted him after the battle. When Gareth beholds Lynette's sister, the Lady Layonnesse, he becomes infatuated with her beauty. He is victorious in his battle with the Red Knight. Not long after, he becomes a Knight of the Round Table and marries Layonnesse.

As described in a film magazine, LeRoy Sylvester (Washburn), a very good young man, is engaged to Ruth Douglas (Chadwick), whose well meaning sister Kitty (Faye) points out to her the fact that no young man so exemplary in his habits before marriage can be humanly expected to continue his model behavior after it. Ruth informs Leroy of his unsuspected shortcoming and he sets out to prove he is a villain of the deepest dye. Osprey Bacchus (Eddy), the dowdy daughter of a lady undertaker, is pressed into service as his companion on his first wild evening. He seeks to bring himself into proper disrepute by flirting with a fascinating lady met at the roof garden, posing as the thief who stole some valuable jewels that have disappeared, resisting an officer, and other escapades, but all in vain. Circumstance saves him despite his best efforts, and Ruth finally consents to marry him despite his lily white reputation.

Mimmi and Roberta sneak on Enok, a man who is almost 60 years old and runs a shoe store. The girls later decide to "adopt" him as a "grandfather". The book is more serious as the previous, as Enok later gets ill and dies. Mimmi and Roberta later hold an own memorial service for him instead of attending the ordinary funeral.

6-year-old Mimmi lives in a yellow house in a small town in Sweden. Hennes mother Elin is a waitress working at restaurant "Gyllene svanen". Sometimes she works during evenings. When Mimmi and her father stand at the balcony they feel the smell from Henry's biscuit factory.

Anders attends the same Kindergarten as Mimmi, and they are both born the same year. A late-May Monday the Kindergarten visits the biscuit factory. In the morning, Mimmi discovers that one of her teeth has loosened.

At the biscuit factory the children first watch a film about Henry's father, who has developed the biscuits. Henry says the recipe is secret but before his death he will whisper it into his daughter Rosamunda's ear. The children all get a biscuit bag and a bun before walking home. On the way back Mimmi's tand gets stuck in the bun. She puts the bun in her pocket and when she comes home she puts the bun in a glass of water. She has heard it will become one crown. Anders and Mimmi then lock themselves up in the kitchen, to develop an own recipe. They hide the recipe behind an old brick wall. 20 years later, they will pick the recipe up.

When Mimmi wakes up the upcoming morning, her tooth in the glass has been replaced to a crown (Swedish currency unit) and the bun is gone. For the crown, she buys a green pear.

It's autumn. Mimmi is a seven and a half years old girl. Roberta Karlsson is nine years old. They believe Enok, who runs a shoestore, is a criminal. They follow him across the path towards a forest glade where he goes fishing at a tarn. Enok discovers the girls, and they begin to talk, before Enok returns to the store.

Mimmi and Roberta sneak into the shoe store, and hide. Suddenly Enok activates the lights, discovering the girls. It appears Enok is no criminal. He becomes like a grandfather to the girls.

By August, Eddie will start school. He doesn't look forward to it. He would rather like to have a real job, like camel-keeper, because things aren't so free at school. His idols are Maradona, Madonna and "Maxon Jaxon". His father is single, and alcoholic.

It's snowing at Junibacken. Madicken and Lisabet go out playing in the snow. The upcoming day, Madicken gets sick and Lisabet and Alva go out Christmas shopping. Suddenly, Lisabet disappears into the forest by sleigh.

As described in a film magazine, Joan Gray (Nilsson), a novelist who is living in the underworld to absorb its atmosphere for her next work, finds herself seriously menaced by Coast-to-Coast Taylor (Beery), a prominent figure of the district who determines to win her by force if necessary. As the situation reaches a climax she is rescued by the famous criminal who has just been released from prison. She continues to sing at the low cafe and accepts the admiring protection of the crook. The latter, unknown to her, is David Strong (Reid), a member of the upper world whose love of adventure and her accounts for his assumption of a famous crook's identity. Matters come to a crisis when his associates urge him to rob a wealthy house, which incidentally is his own home. Joan seeks to prevent it and the real crook arrives in time to also take a hand. David manages to extradite Joan and himself from the situation, and after introductions they plight their troth.

As described in a film magazine, Carey Brent (Clayton), berated by her father Peter Brent (Standing) for yielding to impulses that lead to minor disasters, disobeys him in deciding to employ an escaping convict Paul Sayre (Holt) as a chauffeur, thus aiding him in eluding officers. In this capacity he keeps careful watch over her as she seeks to rid her stepmother of what she believes to be the dangerous attentions of Ralph Seward (Davies), who is seemingly favored by that lady. Wishing to spare her father pain, she wins the man over from Mrs. Brent (Nilsson), only to eventually discover that he is a blackmailer seeking to dispose of innocent though incriminating letters written by her stepmother when a young and romantic girl. Carey goes to his apartments in his absence to find the letters, but Seward's arrival traps her. At the critical moment the convict-chauffeur breaks in, whips Seward, recovers the letters, and effects Carey's escape. When he arrives home later, Carey warns him of a bulletin she has seen announcing the capture of himself. It turns out that he is a salesman whom the convict had forced to exchange clothes with him. Carey and Paul are married.

Expatriate American Mrs. Ross is living a quiet life in San Juan, Mexico when an ambitious American painter arrives, determined to know everything there is to know about the small village. Mrs. Ross, however, is determined to go to whatever lengths necessary to hide the secrets of her previous life.

As described in a film magazine, Tom Logan (Peters), an assistant to his father Paul (Simpson) in his blacksmith shop, falls in love with Barbara Kaye (Hallor), a notorious character who plans to fleece him. Against his father's wishes, Tom marries her and they have a child. Jay Benton (Wallace), a former friend of Barbara's, is released from prison and comes to see Barbara. Tom's father finds them together, and there is a scuffle and a shot and Paul Logan is killed. Jimmy (Hackathorne), Tom's half-wit brother, runs to the village and spreads the news that Tom has killed his own father. Tom is sentenced and convicted to a life sentence. Barbara moves to the city with her child and lives with Benton. Tom saves the life of the warden (Taylor) and gets his sentence reduced. Upon his release, Barbara returns to him and there is a resultant happy ending.

In a post-apocalyptic future where the survivors have banded together into ninja clans, representatives of the Lost Ninja Clan – brothers Cage and Surge, deaf-mute Sky, Trillion, and Mar – are called to an underground bunker to attend a peace conference. Each of the ninja clans has a magic power, and the Lost Ninja Clan control electricity. Fumitaka, a respected clan leader, believes that the disparate ninja clans are under threat by an external force. He proposes that they band together to increase their chances of survival. Though this is well received by the assembled clans, he is assassinated at the end of his speech. Three witnesses step forward to identify Cage, the leader of the Lost Ninja Clan, as the assassin. Confused and protesting his innocence, Cage leads his clan to safety as they fight through the hostile crowd. Cage uses most of his magical power reserves to temporarily knock most of the other ninja unconscious.

The Lost Ninja Clan separate to explore the bunker; each fight off several opponents, though Mar is eventually overwhelmed and killed. After they bury Mar, Trillion leads them to an elevator he scouted. They fight through ninja commanded by Becker, head of a rival ninja clan that uses fire-based powers, and each clan accuses the other of being Fumitaka's assassin. However, the elevator is a decoy, and it takes them to the bottom level, where the Lost Ninja Clan encounter hordes of zombies. Trillion is bitten, and the clan panics. Surge and Cage fight for leadership of the clan until Sky steps in to stop them. A repeating message from Hiroshi, Fumitaka's lieutenant, reveals the existence of a second, working elevator, though it cuts out before he can give the location. The clan fights through the zombies to the working elevator, and Sky sacrifices himself to give the others a chance to escape.

Demoralized, the survivors continue on, only to be stopped by the Siren Clan, an all-female clan composed of seeming clones. Initially friendly, the Siren Clan seduces the Lost Ninja Clan, then viciously attacks. Trillion is killed, and Surge is poisoned. Cage and Surge fight their way to the exit, where Becker again confronts them. Cage and Becker fight each other; when Cage spares Becker's life, Becker questions Cage's guilt. As Cage and Surge stop to get medicine, a double of Cage appears and stabs Surge. Hiroshi reveals himself as a shapeshifter and says that he killed Fumitaka to prevent Cage from becoming Fumitaka's new lieutenant. Weakened and with his powers exhausted, Cage is outmatched by Hiroshi. Before Hiroshi can finish off Cage, Surge recovers and kills Hiroshi. Afterward, Becker, impressed with Cage's honor and skill, swears loyalty to him.

As described in a film magazine, Rose (Lee) is the center of a typical circle of small town admirers, dangling them all but laying most carefully the chosen suitor Steve Waterman (Foss), foreman of the lumber gang working the forest near her home. They become engaged and he begins constructing a little home when Claude Merrill, a ribbon clerk from Boston who is pretending to be a big businessman, arrives in the community and gives ardent court. Although true to her first love, she is so impressed by her new admirer's devotion that she gives him a tender farewell, which is seen by her fiance. Believing the worst, Steve breaks off the engagement, and Rose welcomes an opportunity to go to Boston as nurse to Steve's ailing aunt. Here she learns the clerk's true estate and returns to the country, but finds patching up the quarrel with Steve difficult. When a lumberjack makes a slurring remark about her, however, her uncle hears her former sweetheart Steve's defense of her and his declaration that he would marry her if she would let him. It is then a simple matter for her to bring about a reconciliation and precipitate the ceremony.

In 2012, Benghazi in Libya is named one of the most dangerous places in the world, and countries have pulled their diplomatic offices out of the country in fear of an attack by militants. The United States still has a diplomatic compound, not an official consulate, open in the city. Less than a mile away is a top secret CIA base, "the Annex," which is protected by a team of private military contractors from Global Response Staff (GRS). New to the detail is ex-US Navy SEAL Jack Silva, who arrives in Benghazi and is picked up by fellow ex-US Navy SEAL Tyrone "Rone" Woods, the commander of the GRS team and a personal friend of Silva. Arriving at the Annex, Silva is introduced to the rest of the GRS team: ex-US Marines Mark "Oz" Geist, John "Tig" Tiegen and Dave "Boon" Benton and ex-US Army Ranger Kris "Tanto" Paronto and the CIA Chief of Station, "Bob", who constantly gives the team strict reminders to never engage the citizens.

Prior to the US Ambassador's arrival, the GRS team members visit the Special Mission, where the Ambassador will be staying. They review the location and warns Diplomatic Security Service (DSS) Agents Scott Wickland and Dave Ubben about the risk of minimal-security arrangements and the high probability of a surprise attack due its volatile circumstances. US Ambassador Chris Stevens arrives in Benghazi to maintain diplomatic connections amid the political and social chaos, with limited protection from five DSS Agents, principally Wickland and Ubben, along with guards hired from the local February 17th Martyrs Brigade militia, nicknamed "17-Feb." On the morning of the eleventh anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Stevens notices suspicious men taking pictures of the compound and notifies his security detail. Back at the Annex, Silva finds out that his wife is pregnant.

That night, a group of militants from Ansar al-Sharia assault the compound. The 17-Feb guards are quickly overrun, which allows the attackers easy access to the compound. Wickland takes Stevens and Smith, an IT specialist, to the safe room. Unable to breach the safe room, the attackers set the building on fire hoping to burn the men out. Wickland escapes but loses both Stevens and Smith. At the Annex, the GRS team desperately wants to go to the compound to help, but the Chief refuses for fear that the team's departure would expose the Annex. However, the team dispatches to the compound and meets up with the DSS Agents. Silva and Woods enter the building searching for Stevens and Smith but find only Smith's body. After an intense firefight inside the compound against the militants, the DSS team retreats, but after a beat-up Wickland goes the wrong way, they are followed by militants on their way back to the Annex. Later, the GRS team also retreats to the Annex.

Knowing that an attack by the militants is imminent, the CIA staff of the Annex makes several desperate calls for help, but only ex-US Navy SEAL Glen "Bub" Doherty, a GRS operator in Tripoli, helps. He forms a team, including two Delta Force operators, that flies to Benghazi after several delays. Meanwhile, the GRS team fends off the militants as they try to breach the Annex perimeter. After repelling the largest attack wave, the Annex receives word from ISR that help is coming.

The Tripoli GRS reinforcements arrive and begin to prepare the CIA and DSS staff for their departure to the airport. The militants launch a mortar attack in which Ubben and Geist are wounded, and Geist's left arm is partially severed. Woods rushes to aid Geist and is killed by another mortar round. Doherty is also killed when a third mortar detonates directly in front of him.

With the GRS team compromised and the Annex now vulnerable, the remaining GRS operators watch as a convoy of vehicles rolls toward the Annex. Fearing the worst, the operators prepare to make a final stand until it is revealed that the convoy is an element of the Libya Shield Force militia that is escorting the GRS reinforcements. They also find out that Stevens had been found behind the compound but was pronounced dead at the hospital.

At the airport, the CIA staff and the wounded Geist board the plane to Tripoli while the remainder of the GRS team waits for the next plane with the bodies of Stevens, Smith, Woods, and Doherty. Closing titles reveal that all of the surviving members of the Annex security GRS team received contractor medals at a private ceremony, have since retired from the GRS team, and live with their families and that Geist was able to save his arm after several surgeries after re-enlisting.

An official synopsis of the film was published in ''The Moving Picture World'' states: "Jack Thorne, a young artist, finds his efforts unappreciated, and he and his wife and little daughter are on the verge of starvation. The final blow comes when his last painting, on which he had built much hope, was rejected by a rich man, whom an artist chum kindly brought to the impoverished studio. Jack decides that he can struggle no longer. Unseen by his wife, he picks up his revolver, puts it in his pocket and goes out, intending to end everything. But his little daughter has watched him; she follows him and stays his hand. Her prayers and entreaties bring him to a realization of what his rash act would mean to the two helpless ones that would be left behind. Penitent and remorseful, he accompanies his child back to their poor home. There he confesses to his wife that it was only the child's timely interference that saved him from ending it all. The mother drops on her knees beside her child, and clasping her in her arms, raises grateful eyes to Heaven in a prayer of thankfulness. Jack, looking up suddenly, sees the beautiful group of mother and child, with a light as if from Heaven upon them. Realizing that [this] is the inspiration and subject for which he has sought in vain, he calls for them not to move, and at once begins his great painting of them, which brings him fame and wealth."

"But with wealth, the artist becomes dissatisfied with his wife, and is infatuated with a beautiful society woman whose portrait he is painting. The couple, happy in poverty, are now rapidly drifting on the shoals of matrimonial disaster, but the child saves them. She is weeping one day when Miss Brent, the society woman, enters the room. Miss Brent, who has never seen the child before, asks the cause of her sorrow, and tries to comfort her. The child tells her, and Julia's heart is touched. Though she has contempt[u]ously ignored the wife, she feels that she cannot ruin the life of the helpless child, even to win the artist's love. On the spur of the moment, she writes a farewell note to Jack, and gives it to the child, saying that it will cure all her sorrow. Then she goes out of their lives forever. Jack realizes, when he sees that his child is the messenger, why Julia has broken with him. An outsider had made a sacrifice to save the future of little Marie, when he, her father, who had always loved her, had selfishly forgotten his duty. Remorsefully, he tears up the letter, and destroys the painting, not angrily, but as a symbol that he had cast the original out of his life. Then he makes peace with his wife and daughter, who are joyfully ready to forgive, and tells them that their love will keep him [on] the right path for the rest of his life, and that the lesson he has been taught will never be forgotten."

The young and talented cop Ball (Aaron Kwok) is partners with the cowardly Fish (Ng Man-tat). One day, the police force received news that a gang of kidnappers has threatened kidnap Jessy Lee (Deric Wan), the son of Hong Kong billionaire Lee Ka-sing (Dennis Chan). The police then sends Ball undercover and takes Jessy Lee's identity and sought for more information in the Lee Enterprises. However, Ball's girlfriend Shun (Chingmy Yau), unexpectedly joins the Lee Enterprises and clashes with Jacky (Maggie Cheung), Jessy's ex-lover who mistakenly believes Ball to be Jessy. Meanwhile, a criminal named Robber (Hung Yan-yan) vows to seek vengeance on Ball after their chief of the gang earlier in a robbery when Ball was chasing him. Very similar to the American comedy slash drama Million Dollar Baby. Many people believe the baby is the child of Ball, though the creators have not spoken on this theory.

Sam Evans (Chord Overstreet) and Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) have awkward meetings as they realize that they are starting to feel romantic emotions for each other based on their previous encounters, but Sam also still has feelings for his former girlfriend Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley). Meanwhile, Brittany Pierce (Heather Morris) discusses her wedding plans to Santana Lopez (Naya Rivera) with her parents Pierce (Ken Jeong) and Whitney (Jennifer Coolidge). They reveal to her that Brittany's real father is Stephen Hawking, which explains her extreme intelligence. Rachel and Kurt Hummel (Chris Colfer) give New Directions members Kitty Wilde (Becca Tobin), Spencer Porter (Marshall Williams), Jane Hayward (Samantha Marie Ware), Roderick (Noah Guthrie), Mason McCarthy (Billy Lewis Jr.) and Madison McCarthy (Laura Dreyfuss) (joined by New Directions alumni Artie Abrams (Kevin McHale), Brittany, and Santana) their assignment to sing songs composed by Burt Bacharach, and they have brought in Mercedes to assist. Mercedes also tries to convince Rachel to pursue her relationship with Sam, while also informing her of an audition for a new show in New York that Rachel has been accepted to. However, Rachel is still scared from her previous failures and is not sure she wants to audition. Mercedes asks the male members of New Directions along with Blaine Anderson (Darren Criss) to help her convince Rachel.

Brittany asks Artie to be her wedding planner and he accepts, as they agree on a theme of "heaven". As Brittany and Santana go through a wedding invitation list, Santana is hesitant about inviting her grandmother, Alma (Ivonne Coll), because Alma has disavowed Santana ever since she came out to her as lesbian (as seen in the episode "I Kissed a Girl"). Unknown to Santana, Brittany poses as a nurse for Alma and begins to make a friendship with her, telling her that she is engaged but not who her fiancée is. Brittany gets Alma to appear on her webcast show and state how important it is to have family be at a wedding. Sam tells Mercedes that he still has feelings for her, but Mercedes tells him that they will only be friends, and that he should go ahead and pursue Rachel. Rachel finally decides to go to New York and audition for the show. Brittany invites Alma to attend a performance where she reveals that Santana is her fiancée, but Alma's prejudice is too strong and she rejects their engagement, and Brittany tells her off for doing so. New Directions members, both alumni and new, along with Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison), celebrate Brittany's and Santana's love.

Wan Sheng Ren is the heir to the Wan Sing Hotel Group. Despite his family's wealthy background, he is a kind and gentle person who like to dress casually, open to trying regular everyday people food and not afraid to work hard. However being an only child his mother has made a rule that Sheng Ren must marry by the age of thirty in order to inherit the family business. Since he has no future wife prospect lined up, his mother offers to set him up on an arranged marriage. Not wanting to go through that process he ask his mother if he can find his "Little Angel", a little girl he met when he was young who tended to him after he scraped his knee, but he never got the chance to ask for her name or remember how to go back to the place where he met her. Only thing he has to remember her by is a handkerchief that she used to tend to his wound. By chance one day he sees on television a travel program covering a family run inn in the mountains that has the same logo as "Little Angel's" handkerchief. The next day he and his assistant Long Shi sets out to find his "Little Angel", when they arrive at the inn they encounter the unpleasant young lady Xu You Ai, that they had met the day before at the megamarket.

Xu You Ai is the oldest daughter of the Xu family and owns the Happy House Inn. She is frugal but can be unpleasant and demanding. She also wants to make the family inn successful by treating all the guess like part of her family when they stay there. She meets Wan Sheng Ren at the megamarket. The two start off at the wrong foot because of her competitive nature she thinks he is one of the shoppers trying to fight with her for the hourly store sale item. However, when the market announces a couples only contest to win 10 cases of instant ramen noodles, You Ai involuntarily has Sheng Ren be her partner in order to enter the contest. After winning the contest she only gives Sheng Ren six packets of noodles out of all the 10 cases they have won. When Sheng Ren is hired as a helping hand at the inn she works him to the bone in hard labor.

Not knowing who his "Little Angel" is Sheng Ren and Shi pretends to be answering the help wanted at the inn as helping hands to work at the inn and hide their true identities until they can figure out which young lady is his "Little Angel". Unpleasant and fierce oldest daughter Xu You Ai, soft-spoken middle daughter Xu You Qing who is also a mother, spoiled youngest daughter Xu You Meng who has a spending problem, and You Ai's best friend Zhang Yin Yin who is blunt and opinionated.

A journalist (Valery Nikolaev) is sent on an assignment to investigate paranormal phenomena occurring in a nearby town, but on the way he gets caught up in a haunted mansion to shelter from the rain, from where all his troubles begin.

It's nine o'clock in the evening, but Alfons doesn't want to go to bed. His father reads a fairytale about a horse. Alfons suddenly realizes he hasn't brushed his teeth and goes up to do that. He then feels thirsty and after drinking he realizes he has spilled, and his father has to clean up. He then needs to pee, and his father has to bring a pot.

Alfons then says there's a lion inside the wardrobe and his father has to go looking, and says lions usually aren’t in wardrobes. Alfons then wants his Teddy Bear. His father searches the bathroom and then finds it under the couch. When he hasn't come back Alfons finds his father sleeping in the floor with the Teddy Bear next to him. Alfons covers his father with a duvet and then goes back to bed and falls asleep.

Alfie is 5 years old, and likes it when his father plays with him. His father keeps his toolbox in the wardrobe, but Alfie is not allowed to use it, because the saw is dangerous. Instead, Alfie enjoys playing with his cat Puzzle.

Some days Alfie's father sits alone reading the newspaper and watching TV, not caring much for what Alfie does. When Alfie asks for the toolbox he is allowed to use it, as long as he watches out for the saw.

Alfie brings the toolbox and planks. His father continues to read and tells him not to use the saw. Alfie works with the tools and only the sound of the hammer is heard. Alfie builds a helicopter and imagines himself travelling over the jungle at night, under the Moonlight. Puzzle turns into a lion and runs right towards Alfie. Alfie yells that he needs the saw and his father looks to see what is happening. He now joins his son in the game. They pretend to travel away watching boats, cars, planes and clouds from the sky, before landing in the living room.

When the TV news begins, Alfie's father wants to watch. Alfie pretends to be stuck between the planks and his father says he maybe needs to use the saw to break him free. Alfie admits he was just pretending to be stuck and it is not necessary to use the saw. Alfie is happy that his father played with him.

It's morning and Alfons Åberg will soon go to Kindergarten. After dressing his doll Lisa with his clothes and fixed the wheels on his toy car. Suddenly, he discovers a new book about animals. It has been broken and he has to repair it. However he first gets stuck in the adhesive tape.

His father tells Alfons to come, and when Alfons has to pick up the newspaper, he gets fascinated by an article of a fire and a photographs on a firefighter. At the breakfast table Alfons first plays with the food, and then has to hurry and brush his teeth before taking on his outerwear. When they are about to leave, his father is gone and Alfons gets worried that maybe his father already left. However, his father is in the kitchen reading the newspaper.

Alfons is bored, and plays with his secret friend Malcom. They play with a toy train, and suddenly Alfons' father's tobacco pipe, which they have used for the locomotive, is gone. Alfons' father is upset when they lay the table, while eating and hurry to Kindergarten. Malcom is always there. When they're gone Malcom gets a present, because he will move. It includes new batteries for Alfons' flashlight. Using the flashlight, they finally find the tobacco pipe.

Alfie Atkins sits alone inside the flat where he lives, feeling lonely. He has just moved to a new place and doesn't know the children living there. Sometimes he's visited by his imaginary friend Malcolm When they play together, Alfie is always allowed to be train driver when they play train, and if Alfons drops a plate, Alfons blames it on Malcolm and Malcolm doesn't get angry. Malcolm can change size becoming larger and beat up older guys within a row. He can also save three older guys in a while from a burning house. The only problem is that Malcolm isn't there when needed as when older guys chase Alfie, spraying down his jacket with waterguns.

Once day on his way home, Alfie hears someone crying when walking up the staircase tower. Alfie hurries, and doesn't notice that Malcolm thinks it's time to leave. Sitting there is a boy called Victor. He's bleeding, his trousers have a tear and he tells that the older guys are strong and fight, not allowing Victor to play with hem. He has dropped the key and his mother isn't at home, and he can't enter the flat.

Victor follows Alfie into his apartment. Inside the bathroom Alfie brings a first aid kit, and places adhesive bandages on Victor's knee. Alfie asks if they need to call the ambulance, but Victor thinks it's better to play for a while. They build tall towers out toy blocks, when playing train Victor is allowed to be train driver, with Alfie as passenger. Alfie then even gives Victor his bun. When Victor leaves they decide to play even the upcoming day.

Since that day, Alfie and Victor are best friends but sometimes they quarrel building towers of blocks rolling them over, fight over who will be train driver when playing train, and both want the biggest bun. But every time the older guys appear, Alfie ends up saved by Victor.

Time progresses and Alfie has soon forgotten Malcolm since a very long time ago. Malcolm doesn't get upset, he just disappears. Nobody knows where he disappears, but it's supposed to be to someone else who feels lonely, sad and needs a secret friend.

Alfons, aged 4, visits his grandmother on his father's side. His cousins, aged 7 and 9, are also visiting. They have watches, know how to read, and think Alfons is too young to play with. The children's grandmother gives them cookies and suggests that they play a card game in the living room. The cousins don't allow Alfons to participate, citing that he's too young and doesn't understand anything.

Alfons is left all alone in the kitchen. He gets the idea to use a stool to reach the shelf where his grandmother keeps the cookies. Alfons feels sorry for himself, so he eats all the cookies except one.

When the card game is over, the cousins call Alfons into the living room to look at pictures with grandmother. After that, grandmother suggests they all have some juice and cookies. The cousins go into the kitchen to prepare the refreshments, but find to their horror that there's only one cookie left. They get very angry with Alfons. But Alfons makes himself as small as he can and says he didn't understand he wasn't supposed to eat the cookies. He says he's too young to understand anything, repeating the cousins' words back to them. They see that Alfons isn't so little after all and understands more than they thought. After that, they invite Alfons to play with them.

It's Saturday evening and Alfie has problems falling asleep. The recently passed day, Alfie and his friends were playing soccer with Alfie's new soccer ball. Alfie kicked the ball, which flew very far away. When a little guy acting as ball boy couldn't find it, Alfie blamed the ball boy for stealing the ball and hit him. Alfie now thinks there's a monster under his bed. The upcoming week, Alfie tries to find the ball boy and ask him for forgiveness. The first days, he can't find it and Alfie continues to imagine there's a monster. Finally one day, as he watches the other friends playing soccer, he discovers the missing ball boy. The upcoming Saturday, they meet in the grocery store and Alfie ask for forgiveness. They become friends again, and Alfie's imaginary monster under the bed is gone.

Alfons Åberg is six years old, and dislikes violence. He always walks away from a fight. But at kindergarten, he soon learns that he can't always do that. Instead, he gives up during a fight to avoid it, even though this causes the other children to believe he is weak. He is actually very strong for his age.

Alfons' father tells him that he needs to learn self-defense, and tries to teach him. Alfons doesn't want to, but obeys as to not make his father sad.

Alfons' grandmother likes Alfons' pacifist attitude, and thinks it makes Alfons especially kind. Alfons states he isn't more kind than other children, but he just doesn't like fighting.

Older people may quarrel at children fighting, and tell them to be friends instead of using violence. But then they watch TV crime fiction in the evening, and enjoys fighting and shooting Alfons also likes TV crime fiction, but not fighting himself.

When three new children begin kindergarten, they fight the entire first day, and all the second day. On the third day they try to start more fighting, now attacking Alfons. The other children tell them to stop because Alfons dislikes fighting. However, the troublemakers first believe it's just a trick. The other children tells Alfons to tell the truth, and Alfons finally gives up and says he dislikes fighting.

Alfons walks away to the tool-room and continues building a treehouse. The three other children would like to join him, and Alfons allows them if they don't fight. Nobody fights, and the treehouse is completed. Later at the toilet, Alfons hear two of the new children saying Alfons was brave to say he doesn't dare to fight.

At home that evening Alfons asks his father if he often used to fight when he was younger. As Alfons' father tells his son was afraid and didn't want to fight, Alfons says it was brave to tell that.

Alfons Åberg is seven years old and is due to start the first grade at primary school.

Alfons has recently gone through a sudden shift in personality; previously known for his happy and disobedient nature, he has become quiet and responsible. The change worries his father, who speaks to Alfons about his concerns. Alfons' father says that 7-year-old children all across Sweden are now thinking of tomorrow, scared, curious and worried. This calms Alfons, and he drifts off to sleep.

The upcoming day, Alfons' father accompanies Alfons to school, reminding him that everyone else is as nervous as he is. Inside the classroom, the children tell their teacher their names and are assigned their desk. Their schoolteacher tells them a secret, which makes the children laugh and eases their worries.

Alfons walks home together with a classmate. They play in a ditch, using sticks to build bridges and boats, instead of walking directly home as Alfons had been told.

When Alfons returns home, he explains that his schoolteacher was the most nervous of them all. She bought a new dress, had her hair curled at the hairdresser's and couldn't fall asleep because of her nervousness in having to meet an entire class of children and their parents.

Before dinner, Alfons claims to have washed his hands before eating, despite not having done so. His jacket and bags have been tossed on the floor. Alfons has returned to his old self.

Sometimes when darkness falls, Alfons forgets that ghosts don't exist. His father teaches him a rhyme.

On his way upstairs into the flat again, the staircase tower lights go out, and Alfons can't reach the staircase tower electrical switch. When entering the flat, it's dark and he walks across the living room. The balcony door has been left open, and Alfons believes there's a ghost there. He shuts the door, and walks to his father in the other room. Alfons then jokes and says there are many ghosts who exist despite the rhyme – the clothes and sheet hanging on the balcony washing line.

The story is set right after Christmas, as Alfons and his father are bored because Christmas is over. Alfons' friend Viktor is sick, and can't play with Alfons. Alfons grandmother on his mother's side is visiting Alfons, and states it's good to be bored, waiting for something fun to happen. She removes the Christmas decorations. Suddenly, Viktor approaches. He's no longer sick, and can play with Alfons again. No traditional Knut's dance is carried out, but the Christmas tree is thrown out from the balcony, and down towards the snow-covered January ground.

Alfons is playing with Viktor and Viktor's cousin Milla. They build a treehouse. When he doesn't play with Viktor, he plays with Milla. Together they plan to build a letterbox with aerial lift, allowing messages to be sent into the treehouse. Milla kan bake cookies and create a theatre-circus with the Teddybears. She can also stand on one hand, and dares to jump from the garage roof near the parking lot. They think of a flag that can be raised and lowered.

One day at school, Alfons goes toileting when seeing a group of guys teasing him, writing that he plays with girls. For a while, he doesn't want to play with her but finally she still appears. Alfons ignore those who tease, and when the treehouse flag finally rises to the top nobody teases anymore.

The previous day was Alfons birthday and the upcoming Saturday, he will have a children's party. Fiffi, his Aunt on his father's side, has no children on her own. She is engaged in preparations. Alfons says first he will invite Viktor and Milla. Fiffi states that since they often play so often, she can invite the entire Kindergarten, but Alfon's father says 8-10 children are enough. Fiffi and Alfon's father agree that Alfons can invite the children living at the same street. Fiffi writes lists, goes shopping and bakes. Alfons helps her.

The party is held on Saturday. Most children wear dress clothes, and don't look ordinary. Alfons gets presents.

At the table is a cake, and name-cards giving every guest a place. When Lotta tells Fiffi she doesn't want to sit next to Martin, because he pinches. Fiffi then changes the cards.

Then, the games begin. Suddenly, Ubbe discovers Martin has something green in his candy bag, but Fiffi states there's not more or less candy in any bag. When playing quiz, Sara is angry because she was not member in the winning team. When playing hide and seek, girls look themselves up at the toilet. When the clocks strikes six and it's time for the guests to leave, Alfons thinks it feels good it's all over. Fiffi begins cleaning up.

The upcoming day, Alfons holds an own party with only him, Viktor and Milla. They sit under the table and eat from cakes leftover, and Alfons thanks Fiffi.

It is a comedic love story.

Alfons Åberg is five years old, and yesterday he learned to tie bows. Viktor and Milla will soon come and play. Alfons ties ropes across the kitchen, and his father has to walk above or go under the ropes.

Suddenly, Viktor and Milla show up. The entire home is full of ropes, and one rope is attached to the flat's door. Meanwhile, Alfon's father falls on one of the ropes. Viktor and Milla come inside and see that Alfons has made a mini-aerial tramway with boxes for the Teddybears. Together, they loosen all the rope but keep the aerial tramway. The children then play with it for a long time.

At the office where they work together, acting sales manager Evan Sanders talks to his slacker friend and coworker Tim about an upcoming presentation for the Phallucite account. After an awkward moment between Evan and head of HR Amanda in the break room, Tim explains to coworkers Andrew and Mike that Amanda said “I love you” to Evan and Evan's response was, “no.” Branch president Ted Plunkett passes over Evan for a promotion and instead hires Max Phillips as the new sales manager. Max went to college with Evan and Tim, but Evan had him kicked out after Max slept with his girlfriend. Max moves into Evan's office and starts hitting on Amanda.

In the office alone playing video games after hours, Mike is killed in one of the bathroom stalls. Evan finds Mike's body in the morning, but it is gone by the time he alerts everyone. Max secretly turns office employee Dave into a vampire. Formerly passive Dave becomes aggressive in demanding that everyone pay what is owed to the office sports betting pool. Anxious to complete his Phallucite presentation, Evan uses Zabeth, who harbors a crush on him, to retrieve files from the basement. Zabeth is attacked and turned into a vampire.

Evan convinces Andrew to work late with him. Andrew goes to the basement and is attacked by Zabeth. Meanwhile, Evan searches Max's office, finding photos of Amanda and personnel files where each employee photograph is marked with an x, circle, or check. Andrew returns upstairs and seemingly drops dead in front of Evan. Evan hides in a supply closet. Determining that Max is behind the murders, Evan calls Amanda with a warning, but Max answers her phone and taunts him. Evan eventually passes out. Ted, Tim, and Max find Evan in the morning. Andrew returns as a vampire and presents the completed Phallucite presentation to the bosses. Ted admonishes Evan for not finishing it himself. However, Max strangely defends Evan to protect Evan's job.

Evan tries convincing Tim that vampires have overtaken the office. Tim reveals several odd events he witnessed that corroborate Evan's wild claim, including watching Max turn administrative assistant Elaine into a vampire. Amanda still refuses to believe that anything supernatural is going on. Evan worries that Max will turn her into a vampire like the other employees. Evan and Tim go to security guard Frank for help. Frank reveals that he was with Tim when they witnessed the ongoing vampire activity. The three men go to Frank's car for weapons and discover that Frank's vehicle was robbed. The Janitor reveals he is a vampire by attacking Frank. Frank recovers and stakes the Janitor through his heart, killing him.

Evan, Tim, and Frank return to the office and discover that all of the employees are now productive vampires. The men arm themselves with office supplies before confronting Ted, Max, and Andrew in Ted's office. Amanda is also present. Ted reveals that he knew Max was turning employees into vampires and that he sanctioned it so that employee performance would improve. Evan reveals that the files he found in Max's office prove that Max planned to kill Ted. Before Ted can act, Max snaps Ted's neck.

Max and Andrew allow the three men to leave Ted's office with Amanda, but they are surrounded by the vampire employees. After a long battle, all of the vampires are killed. Max calls in the legal team, also turned into vampires, as reinforcements. He then compels Amanda back into Ted's office and leaves the three men to continue fighting. Andrew kills vampire Dave because he never liked him and ends up in a confrontation with Tim during which they debate how their faceoff should end. Frank dies combating the vampires from Legal. Evan returns to Ted's office where he and Amanda ultimately kill Max.

Afterwards, Tim finds Evan and Amanda covered in blood and making out amidst the carnage. The three of them calmly leave the building as day breaks. A cleaning woman arrives at the grisly scene and is attacked and bitten by Andrew.

In feudal Japan, a 12-year-old boy with only one eye named Kubo tends to his ill mother in a mountain cave near a village. He earns their living by magically manipulating origami with music from his for the village folk, telling the tale of his missing father Hanzo, a samurai warrior. Kubo is never able to finish his story, as he does not know what happened to Hanzo and his mother cannot recall the end due to her deteriorating mental state. His mother warns him not to stay out after dark as her Sisters, and his grandfather, the Moon King (who took his eye when he was a baby) will find him and take his remaining eye.

One day, Kubo learns of the village's Bon festival allowing them to speak to deceased loved ones. Kubo attends but is angry that Hanzo does not appear from his lantern, and forgets to return home before sunset. The Sisters quickly find him and attack, but his mother suddenly appears and uses her magic to send Kubo far away, telling him to find his father's armor.

Kubo wakes up in a distant land to find Monkey, his wooden snow monkey charm, has come alive. Monkey tells him his mother is gone and the village destroyed. With help of "Little Hanzo", an origami figure based on Kubo's father, they set out to find the armor. Along the way, they meet Beetle, an amnesiac samurai who was cursed to take the form of a stag beetle/human hybrid but believes himself to have been Hanzo's apprentice.

Kubo, Monkey, and Beetle reclaim the "Sword Unbreakable" from a cave guarded by a giant skeleton. They cross the Long Lake in a leaf boat to locate the "Breastplate Impenetrable" deep underwater. Kubo and Beetle swim down to retrieve it and encounter a sea monster, the "Garden of Eyes", who first uses its many eyes to entrance its victims by showing them visions of secrets, then eats them. Kubo is caught in the creature's sight, but while entranced, comes to realize that Monkey is the reincarnated spirit of his mother. Beetle rescues the unconscious Kubo and obtains the Breastplate, but on returning to the boat, they find that Monkey has been badly wounded fighting and vanquishing one of the Sisters.

They go to shore to recover, where Monkey explains that she and her Sisters were ordered by the Moon King to kill Hanzo, but she instead fell in love with him, and the Moon King branded her an enemy. That night, Kubo dreams of meeting a blind elderly man, who points him towards the "Helmet Invulnerable" in Hanzo's abandoned fortress. They travel there the next day but realize too late it is a trap set by the Moon King and the remaining Sister. The Sister reveals that Beetle is Hanzo, whom they cursed for taking their sister away from them, and kills Hanzo. Monkey sacrifices herself, buying Kubo the time to use his to vanquish the Sister, breaking two of the three strings on it. Little Hanzo provides insight to Kubo that the Helmet is actually the bell at the village, and Kubo breaks the last string to quickly travel there.

At the village, Kubo meets the old man from his dream, who is revealed as the Moon King. He offers to take Kubo's other eye to make him immortal, but Kubo refuses. The Moon King transforms into a giant ''Dunkleosteus''-like dragon, the Moon Beast, and pursues Kubo and the remaining villagers into its cemetery. When the armor proves ineffective, Kubo removes it and restrings his using his mother's hair, his father's bowstring, and his own hair. With the instrument, he summons the spirits of the villagers' loved ones, who show the Moon King that memories are the strongest magic of all and can never be destroyed. Kubo and the spirits' magic protect themselves and the villagers from the Moon King, stripping him of his powers and leaving him a mortal human without any memories. Spurred on by Kubo's stories, the villagers choose compassion and tell him he was a man of many positive traits, accepting him into the village. Kubo is able to speak to his parents' ghosts during the subsequent Bon ceremony, as they watch the deceased villagers' lanterns transform into golden herons and fly to the spirit world.

Milla says that Alfons has stolen the key to a treehouse built by his and his friends. Soon, everyone says Alfons is a thief. He returns to the treehouse, and begins to search for the key. He doesn't find it, and when no one wants to play with him he feels lonely and continues searching. Suddenly Milla calls, and says it was a magpie who took the key.

Alfons is about to babysit a little guy called "Småtting". When Alfons is about to tell a story about a chicken, Småtting instead wants to hear about monsters, frightening Småtting. Finally, Småtting wants to hear a fairytale about a chicken instead.

Alfons is six years old. With his new friend Hamdi they often play war. Hamdi's father has participated in a real war. Alfons and Hamdi want to hear stories, but Hamdi's father doesn't want to tell much.

Vanessa is a young girl who lives with her father José de Jesús and his brother Juan. Both work at the railway, and have a small house near the tracks. In order to help them, Vanessa gets a job in the textile factory of Cecile Saint Michel, run by a powerful and successful woman who lives in a huge mansion with her grandchildren Pierre and Luciano.

''Me and My Moulton'' is a humorous autobiographical short film based on Kove's experiences as a 7-year-old girl in Norway, one of three sisters who long for a bicycle. The film explores the emotions of Kove's character, who is often embarrassed by their unorthodox architect parents.

Kove was quoted in a ''Toronto Star'' article as saying the story had been on her mind for years and that her goal was to convey a girl’s conflicting feelings about her parents: "These feelings are not easy for kids. It’s confusing when you don’t have all the insights that you get later in life to realize your parents embarrass you but at the same time you really love them. There are mixed emotions."

As described in a film magazine, Nugget Nell (Gish) is the proprietress of a stage depot in the early west. to her hostelry comes the wealthy and well groomed City Chap (Cannon), who ignores her love prompted advances. She robs the ladies of the area of their fine clothes and adorns herself for his delectation, but with no results. When he leaves, she learns that the Wolf Gang is planning to hold up the stage and rob him. She in turn robs the gang and frees the City Chap. They are run to cover in a deserted hut where she successfully fights off their pursuers. However, she has learned that City Chap is a coward, so she sends him on his way and goes back to Big Hearted Jim (Butler), her faithful admirer.

As described in a film magazine, Elizabeth Blake (Calvert), who has been reared in the country since she was a foundling, is lured to her ruin by an unscrupulous landlord's agent. She runs away to the city and, after many adventures, is rescued by The Salvation Army and made a member of their order. When her county lover Luke (Anderson) finds her, she is about to embark for France, so he enlists in the army in the hope of meeting her in Europe. Harry Hammond (O'Brien), a son of wealth who has scorned The Salvation Army, is shanghaied and taken to London, where a representative of the order persuades him to enlist in the aviation corps. His fiance Agnes Traverse (De Remer), learning of his whereabouts, also dons the scarlet ribboned bonnet and arrives in France. Harry is wounded and Elizabeth, who has learned to love him, remains behind with him when the Allies retreat. Luke arrives and casts his lot with them, and the three hide in the cellar of a deserted chateau taken by the Germans. They resist capture until rescued by the American forces. A military wedding ceremony unites Harry and Agnes and Luke and Elizabeth.

As described in a film magazine, Bill Henry Jenkins (Ray) leaves the family farm with a patent vibrator under his arm and speeds across the nation on his bicycle in search of fortune. He is assaulted by an irate farmer and takes refuge in a small town hotel run by his uncle, where he gets a position as a clerk. Lela Mason (Roberts) comes to the hotel, having spent her last cent to arrive there. She has inherited a piece of farm land only to be told by the local lawyer that it is worthless, which raised Bill Henry's sympathy. He plays poker with the traveling men to win enough money to buy the property, keeping Lela ignorant as to the buyer's identity. A land salesman offers Bill Henry a much greater price for the land and Bill sells it, telling the lawyer to turn the money over to Lela. Instead, the lawyer pockets the money and accuses Bill Henry of knowingly cheating the young woman. His uncle turns him in, but Lela remains faithful. Bill Henry returns, beats up the lawyer and makes him confess his deception, and marries the young woman.

As described in a film magazine, Calvin Prendergast (Oliver) and Os Whipple (Ogle), small town neighbors, quarrel over a strip of land on which there is a spring to which both claim ownership. Josephine Darchat (Lee), granddaughter of Calvin, and Russ Prendergast, son of Os, are much attracted to each other although the old men object. Calvin and Os leave town to seek legal advice regarding the spring. During their absence the youngster's romance progresses, rousing the jealousy of a young woman guest of the Prendergasts. She causes a misunderstanding between Jo and Russ by changing a love note of Russ' until it is almost an insult. Calvin and Os arrive back in town, and each man's anger is aroused by reports of activities of the other's family. Calvin decides to take the spring by force and summons a gang of rowdies to his aid. Os likewise calls out a gang. During the skirmish that takes place, one of the Prendergast children fall into the creek. Jo rescues him, and Russ assists Jo from drowning. The discord between the families is smoothed out.

Memphis, the “American”, assaulted a jewelry store with “Moskito”, whose real name is Dino Bianco, while Dino's hippie-esque friend Maria is waiting in the getaway car. The action is poorly prepared and the implementation fails, which causes Memphis to react brutally. On their escape, they find the 13-year-old son of the British consul in a stolen car, whom they take hostage. The American's actions are becoming more and more confused and brutal; so he shoots Maria and forces Moskito to drown a German family so that they - Memphis is now wounded - can get to safety. Moskito becomes friends with Lennox, the kidnapped boy, and tries to stop the American from doing what he is doing. A few meters before the border they are caught by the police and are killed.

On a 1940 France, just before the great invasion, Eliane is a pharmacist who is married to her dull husband and has a teenage daughter. Eliane is an attractive woman who has let her passion fall dormant.

One evening, the pharmacy clerk makes a pass at her when he thinks she is another girl. Soon she lets the passion overtake her and she begins an affair with her employee. Armand, the pharmacy clerk, starts making ever-growing demands to Eliane, forcing her to have sex under the pharmacy counter and undress in front of a female employee of the pharmacy (who is also having an affair with Armand), among others demands, effectively turning her into his sex slave.

Bianca Vidal is a humble young lady who works during the day and studying at night, then meet his teacher of literature, José Miguel Medina Rivas. His wife and daughter know nothing of what has befallen him and struggle to live in the city. The daughter gets a position in a sweatshop, and her eyesight deteriorates until she is unable to work anymore. Now blind, she resorts to playing the violin for money while her mother becomes a beggar.

As Pat Moran recovers in the hospital, he sends messengers out to contact his wife and child, but they all fail to find them. One day, the blind girl has lost her way and stumbles into the hospital grounds. She encounters the doctor and tells him of her story and plight. Weakly reclining in a chair nearby, Pat Moran overhears her and recognizes the girl as his daughter. The grief of the separated family abates with their reunion and doctor's assurance that the blind girl that her sight can be restored.

As described in a film magazine, Helen Armes (Dalton), a nurse, comes to New York City from Albany to visit her married brother. She arrives on New Year's Eve and is immediately added to a cabaret party being made up to include her brother's wife and Lyle Bane (McCullough), a wealthy bachelor. At the cabaret she meets his brother Temple Bane (Herbert), a woman-hater who begins to believe in her. When she wearies of the performance, Lyle takes her home, lures her into his apartment, and attempts familiarities. She escapes but is judged guilty by her sister-in-law, so she leaves at once and goes to the nurse headquarters. Temple arrives and, after being told a lie about Helen's character and the incident, fights with his brother and receives a blow that blinds him. Helen is assigned to his case and she nurses him back to his sight. Being ignorant of her identity, Temple asks Helen for her hand in marriage. When he regains his sight, he then denounces her. She is about to leave when Lyle Bane, who has been reported killed in France while in the American Expeditionary Forces, appears in a supernatural form and tells the truth about the incident in the apartment. Temple and Helen reconcile, and Lyle disappears, with it concluded that he did not return in the flesh but only as a spirit.

American photographer David Reynolds and his British fiancee Lauren go to Colombia to persuade David's teenage daughter, Jill, to return to America so she can attend their wedding. They find her with David's former sister-in-law, Gina, a television reporter, and Gina's cameraman Ramón, whom Jill is dating. Annoyed that her father intends to get married after the death of her mother Marcela, Jill refuses to attend the wedding. After David insists that she can not stay in Colombia, she replies that she has left her passport in a nearby city. Jill invites Ramón to come along with them to retrieve her passport, much to David's annoyance.

On the way, they encounter Captain Morales, who warns them to turn back, as the roads ahead have become flooded. After he leaves, Gina brushes off his concerns and advises them to continue, as she knows the roads well. Once in the storm, however, they become lost and lose control of the car. A wave pushes the car off the road, and, amid other minor injuries, Lauren breaks two of her ribs in the resulting accident. Leaving the car, they encounter a remote inn whose owner, Felipe, tells them it is closed and to seek help in town. Their injuries convince him to let them in, but he warns them to not leave the lobby.

David and Felipe go outside to get firewood. As Jill and Ramón wander around the inn to find a bathroom, Jill hears a girl calling out for help in Spanish. They hide when they hear Felipe return and see him check a basement door before the others mollify him. When Jill and Ramón check the basement, they find Ana Maria, Felipe's daughter, locked in a box. Felipe angrily confronts them with a rifle, but David saves them by knocking out Felipe. David lets Ana Maria out of the box and ties up Felipe. Ana Maria does not speak much, and, when Felipe regains consciousness, he only tells them that they will all die. They gag him and look for a working car or phone, to no avail.

They soon become suspicious when they discover the inn has not had a customer since 1978, Felipe has a decades-old photograph of Ana Marie, and the box is carved with occult symbols. Ana Marie taunts Felipe by telling him that she will kill everyone. When he frees himself, he slashes his wrists and runs at her with a knife. Ramón, who earlier took Felipe's rifle, shoots and kills him. As Gina and Ana Marie separate from the others to talk, Captain Morales arrives and demands to see Felipe. When they explain that they had to kill him in self-defense, Morales orders them at gunpoint to enter the box. David briefly enters the box, but rushes Morales and disarms him.

Morales reveals that Ana Marie is a bruja, a Spanish witch. She can take over the body of anyone who kills her current host. Felipe locked her up nearly 40 years ago after his daughter was possessed. The witch knows everyone's secrets and uses them to sow discord and encourage people to kill her, so she can inhabit the strongest person. Gina kills Ana Marie after she threatens to reveal Gina's abortion, and Ramón kills the witch (Gina) when she reveals that he is a serial killer who preys on young women. Morales encourages them to wound the witch (Ramón) rather than kill her, but Lauren accidentally kills Ramón. The witch (Lauren) taunts them by revealing that David turned off Marcela's life support without telling Jill.

After they bring Lauren back to the house, David insists they find a way to cure her, but Morales says it is not possible. The witch frees herself from Lauren, kills Morales, and promises to let Jill live if David will sacrifice himself, as the witch does not want to inhabit Lauren's injured body. David initially refuses, but, after the witch appears to him as Marcela and disfigures herself, he agrees. Before David can sacrifice himself, Jill kills the witch herself. Overcome with grief, David locks Jill (now possessed) in the box.

The story of the film is presented in documentary format, with footage of the events punctuated by interviews with people related to them.

In the early 1970s, Dr. Henry West (William Mapother) founded the Atticus Institute in rural Pennsylvania, hoping to find evidence that proves supernatural abilities such as ESP are real. Despite the best work of West and his aides, however, every subject that comes to the institute seeming to display such abilities are ultimately proven to be frauds. The team is demoralized in their work by the time Judith Winstead (Rya Kihlstedt) is brought to the institute by her sister Margaret, who is troubled by her disturbing behavior. The tests immediately proves to be no challenge for Judith's incredible power, the team gradually introduces new tests that show her to possess even greater abilities than first imagined.

Judith's behavior grows more unstable as her abilities evolve, disturbing West's staff. Bizarre events begin to happen to the aides and their families outside of the institute, which they suspect Judith is somehow influencing, and many of them resign from their positions to escape from her. As the situation escalates, the team seeks help from the United States military; under the influence of military advisors, they conduct new tests that lead to Judith manifesting new abilities such as telekinesis and pyrokinesis. One day, Judith experiences a violent reaction to a spectral photography experiment, and when the images are checked, a cloud-like entity is observed temporarily leaving Judith's body during her convulsions. This leads the team to realize that Judith's powers are the result of demonic possession.

With this discovery, the military seizes full control of the institute under a pretext of national security, and the situation spirals completely out of control. Soon, the military decides that Judith's abilities can be utilized as a weapon against the Soviet Union in the Cold War, and they begin conducting increasingly inhumane experiments on Judith against West's objections. Using methods such as electroshock therapy, the military try to tame the demon and force it to cooperate in exercises such as identifying the location of enemy bases, ignoring the effects these tests have on Judith. As these experiments ultimately prove fruitless, the military decides to try removing the demon from Judith by having a priest perform an exorcism while a soldier is connected to Judith. The process shows promise at first, but Judith suddenly lashes out and gravely injures the priest, disconnecting the electrodes attached to her before passing out. As the staff try to reattach the electrodes, Judith experiences a violent seizure while the demon attacks West through the body of the soldier connected to her. An unseen force blasts through the facility, knocking out all present. As the cameras come back online, Judith is now free of the demon's control and restored to her true self, but still tied to a chair in an observation cell. She panics when she sees the carnage around her. The demon enters the room in West's body, having fully consumed his soul, and stands before Judith's cell as she pleads for help. West kills Judith by telekinetically bursting her heart, then calmly exits the room and disappears.

The film concludes with a note revealing that Judith's body was buried in an undisclosed location following an autopsy, and her case "remains the only instance of possession officially recognized by the United States government". Dr. West, having "disappeared on October 23, 1976" is revealed to have been declared legally dead in 1982 and his whereabouts unknown for over forty years, leaving open the possibility of a sequel.

Set around 1900, the titular Lazybones is in love with Agnes. Her sister, Ruth, returns home with a child and a story about marrying a seaman who was lost at sea. She attempts suicide by jumping in the river, but Lazybones saves her and, taking pity on the child, Kit, adopts her without revealing her true mother. Agnes and Ruth's mother is very strict and when told by Ruth of the child, strikes her with a cane. As the years pass, Ruth dies and Lazybones goes off to World War I. When he returns, intending to marry Kit now that she is grown up, he finds that she is in love with Dick Ritchie.

After a series of traps, false arrests, chases through secret passageways, and an escape from handcuffs, Paul deduces that the true criminal is Doctor Varney, who cared for Forbes. Paul prevents Varney from blowing up the house, and at the same time wins the affections of Florence.

Graciela Acosta goes to see a gynecologist to see if she can still have children after having an abortion five years before, and her doctor advises her she can as long as she undergoes a series of long and painful treatments. Graciela is married to Willi, a conformist who works at her father's company. He is satisfied with his current life, and his personality clashes with that of Graciela who is hardworking and wants to move up in life. This creates problems in their marriage. On the other hand, Milena breaks up with her boyfriend and decides to move in with her best friend Graciela. However, Milena begins to be a replacement for Graciela because she appears to be the perfect housewife. She cooks, cleans and provides company to a lonely Willi and they begin to fall in love. Graciela later discovers that her best friend and her husband have become lovers, thus creating a love triangle.

Maggie Conley has a miscarriage after an argument with her husband, Chris, turns physical. To save their marriage, they move to a large house in rural Virginia. They are met by a real estate agent, Rob Bradley, who explains that the house has been converted into a duplex. A quiet, elderly couple, the Andersons, rent the other half of the house. As constant storms have made public utilities prohibitively expensive, Bradley suggests that they use cell phones and a generator.

After showing them the house, Bradley comes upon a locked door and offers to return in a week with the key. Later, Chris refuses Maggie's offer to start the generator and insists on doing it himself. That night, Chris celebrates with mixed alcoholic drinks. Annoyed that he has resumed drinking, Maggie declines to join him in bed.

Maggie has a nightmare about the locked room involving vines connecting to her umbilical cord. After Chris drives into town for supplies, she forces her way into the room. She hears a loud ringing from a rotary-style telephone and she is frustrated when Chris reacts skeptically to her account. While they take a walk, he points out that the telephone lines are still down, and Maggie angrily accuses him of not supporting her. Tensions are further raised when Chris announces that he must leave the house for several days. Chris, a firefighter, explains that late fires have started in the nearby forest.

Because of the poor cell reception, Maggie is forced to travel to a clearing to use her cell phone, but is continually frightened away by strange noises in the trees. Maggie becomes increasingly agitated as she misses Chris' daily phone calls and continues to hear ringing from the Andersons' house. Maggie makes several unsuccessful attempts to meet the Andersons, only to meet Mr. Anderson one night after the generator stalls. Dressed in a nightgown and feeling vulnerable, she does not answer his double entendres as he restarts it for her. After she overhears Mrs. Anderson talking on the phone, she breaks into the Andersons' house; after she apologizes, the two chat.

Mrs. Anderson says that her husband is also a firefighter, though it is only a desk job due to his age and the lack of any recent fires. Already uncomfortable due to the previous revelation, Maggie leaves when her life and Mrs. Anderson's increasingly continue to mirror each other. Later, as the two take a walk together, Mrs. Anderson reveals that her husband beats her.

When Chris finally returns, Maggie confronts him in a rage, and he knocks her unconscious. Maggie accuses Chris of domestic violence, but he says that she was hysterical. At dinner, she and Chris get into another argument, and Maggie leaves the table as he shouts at her to sit back down. Quoting Mrs. Anderson, Maggie calls Chris a violent monster, and grabs an axe. Seeing this unfold outside, Mr. Anderson belittles Chris's manhood, and offers to kill Maggie.

Offended, Chris attacks Anderson, but Anderson fatally stabs him. Maggie kills Mr. Anderson with the axe and reconciles with Chris as he dies. She goes into the house, calling for Mrs. Anderson, who she saw through a window outside. A scream is heard from inside the house followed by repeated thuds. When Bradley returns, he finds the formerly locked room has been turned into a shrine to Maggie's lost baby, and Maggie is cuddling with Chris' decomposing corpse.

Later, the police explain that Maggie apparently went insane with grief after Chris choked on his own vomit the same night they arrived. The Andersons pull up in their car and reveal that they have only just arrived back from a vacation; Maggie imagined their presence.

It is a story of a charming wheelchair girl nicknamed Bielka (means "squirrel" in Russian) and her attendant Shchenok (means "puppy" in Russian) taking place in the severe winter cold of Northern Russia of the emerging Soviet Union of 1933.

Emil and his sister Ida live on a farm in Lönneberga. Emil does many pranks, but actually he doesn't want to make pranks, they just happen as Emil can't foresee the consequences of his actions. Often they are made with good intent. For example, Emil gets mouse traps to help his parents to get rid of mice. Instead of the mice his father is the one who gets caught. After Emil has committed a prank, his father usually locks him inside a shed. There Emil carves a wooden figure. Ida, however, is a good girl - she wants to be locked into the shed herself in one episode, but cannot manage to anger her father.

After Damon (Ian Somerhalder) compels Alaric (Matt Davis) to do whatever he has to do to get the ascendant from Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe), Alaric has no choice. After obtaining it, Damon compels him again to forget everything and along with Elena (Nina Dobrev) they meet Liv (Penelope Mitchell) who sends them back to 1994 to find Bonnie (Kat Graham) and bring her home. While searching for Bonnie, Elena wonders why Jo agreed to give Damon the ascendant which is the only thing that is protecting her from Kai (Chris Wood), but Damon manages to avoid the truth.

Damon and Elena page Bonnie and are able to speak to her and tell her that they are bringing her home. In their conversation Bonnie tells them that Kai stabbed her to get her blood leaving her in Portland, and that she fear Kai might be free. While waiting for Bonnie to get back in Mystic Falls, Damon tells Elena the truth of how he got the ascendant something that makes her furious accusing him that he would do anything to make her fall in love with him again, no matter who gets hurt. Damon confesses her that Bonnie kept him alive while the two of them were stuck in 1994 and she was the one giving him hope explaining that this is the reason he wants to save Bonnie and not only to make her fall in love with him again.

Back in present time, Kai kills a cab driver and once he arrives in Mystic Falls he finds Liv. He steals some of her magic and tries to kill her but Tyler (Michael Trevino) comes in time and saves her. Seeing that Kai is free, Tyler wants to take Liv inside the borders of Mystic Falls that no magic works to protect her from Kai. That forces Liv to bring Damon and Elena back to the present before Bonnie gets to them and she is left behind again. They try to convince her to send them back but Liv leaves with Tyler. A little bit later, Kai finds Elena and Damon at the cemetery and destroys the ascendant while he crosses the border and gets to Mystic Falls, with Elena and Damon not be able to do anything to stop him.

Jo finds out that the ascendant is gone and confronts Alaric, being the only other person who knew where she kept it, but Alaric swears he did not take it. Jo tells him that it might be possible that he took it but he does not remember because he was compelled to forget. Alaric tells her that Damon is his friend and would never do that to him, so Jo makes him to cross the border so they can see if Alaric is compelled.

Meanwhile, Stefan (Paul Wesley) meets Matt's (Zach Roerig) friend who claims to be Sarah (Gabrielle Walsh), the daughter of their uncle. Later, it is revealed that she is actually an impostor who goes by the name Monique. Stefan knows about the real Sarah and where she is all these years since he has been watching over her whole life so the moment he saw Monique, he knew she was lying. He compels Monique to forget she ever knew Sarah and to leave Mystic Falls, because he does not want Damon, or anyone else, to know about Sarah. Enzo (Michael Malarkey) suspects that Stefan hides something and kills Monique because Stefan refuses to tell him. That makes Matt go to Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) and ask him to help him kill Enzo.

At the end of the episode, Alaric, knowing now the truth about Damon compelling him, he confronts him and even though Damon tries to apologize. He hits him and leaves when he finds out that Kai is already free. In the meantime, Bonnie returns to Mystic Falls of 1994 but she does not find Elena and Damon there and starts crying while in present, Kai gets to Tyler's home and tells him that he wants to save Liv's life, asking for Tyler's help.

Appearing in a series of four novels, it depicts a soccer club being promoted across a promotion and relegation-based Swedish league system before losing the Allsvenskan qualifying game. In 1985, a TV series was made.

Sometimes, sports journalists talk of the "real Åshöjdens BK" when a club, often in rural districts, within some seasons quickly has been promoted from the lower to higher divisions. An example is Ljungskile SK's promotion during the early-mid 1990s.

In 1978, Baton Rouge pilot Barry Seal, who flies commercial jets for TWA, is recruited by a CIA case officer calling himself Monty Schafer. He asks Seal, who has been smuggling Cuban cigars into the country via Canada, to fly clandestine reconnaissance missions for the CIA over Central America using a small, fast, twin-engine Piper Smith Aerostar 600, outfitted with sophisticated aerial surveillance cameras. Seal tells his wife, Lucy, he's still with TWA.

In the 1980s, Schafer asks Seal to start acting as a courier between the CIA and General Noriega in Panama. During a mission, the Medellín Cartel picks Seal up and asks him to fly cocaine on his return flights to the United States. Seal accepts and starts flying the cartel's cocaine to Louisiana, delivering the drugs via airdrop in the countryside instead of landing at an airport. The CIA turns a blind eye to the drug smuggling, but the DEA tracks Seal down. To avoid the authorities, Seal and his family must relocate to the remote town of Mena, Arkansas, and his wife comes to accept the wealth generated by his new life. The small town gradually becomes wealthy as the hub of U.S. cocaine trafficking.

Later, Schafer asks Seal to run guns to the Nicaraguan Contras based in Honduras. Seal realizes that the Contras are not serious about the war and just want to get rich and he starts trading the guns to the cartel. The CIA sets up a Contra training base in Mena and Seal flies the Contras in, but many of them escape as soon as they arrive.

Seal makes so much money he buries it in suitcases in the backyard. Seal's freeloading brother-in-law JB moves in, needing a job. Eventually, he starts stealing money from the Seals and is arrested after Sheriff Joe Downing catches him with a briefcase full of laundered cash. With JB out on bail, Seal gives him money and a plane ticket to Bora Bora and tells him to get lost for his safety. JB demands weekly cash and insults Lucy. As Barry chases after him, JB is killed in his car by a bomb placed by the Medellín Cartel, who had previously promised to "take care" of the JB problem.

The FBI soon catches wind of the sudden exuberance on the streets of Mena, not helped by JB's reckless spending, and eventually, the CIA shuts the program down and abandons Seal, who is arrested by the FBI, DEA, ATF and Arkansas State Police simultaneously. Seal escapes prosecution by making a deal with the White House, which wants evidence of the Sandinistas being drug traffickers. They ask Seal to get photos that tie the Medellín Cartel to the Nicaraguan Sandinistas. Seal manages to get the pictures, but the White House releases them as propaganda against the Sandinistas. Seal is prominently shown in the pictures, which leads to his indictment by the crusading state attorney general, and the cartel plotting revenge.

Seal is convicted but sentenced to only 1,000 hours of community service. Moving from motel to motel making video recordings of his experiences, Seal fears an explosion anytime he starts his car. As his community service is performed at the same Salvation Army building every night, Seal cannot hide from the cartel and is shot dead by assassins. The CIA destroys all evidence connecting them to Seal. After Seal is dead, the CIA continues smuggling, instead using Iran to get guns to the Contras, as proposed by Schafer.

The film ends with Schafer getting promoted for his idea, though it is soon discovered by the public with reporters asking President Reagan and Vice President Bush about the scandal. Lucy and her kids move back to Baton Rouge, where she is seen contentedly working in fast food. One of her expensive pieces of jewelry is seen on her wrist.

Ulf's sister died before she was born, and now she's an angel.

As described in a film magazine, John Haynes (Hart), a lumberman known as "Hardwood," receives a letter informing him that he has inherited a business establishment in New Orleans. Surprised, although pleasantly so, he goes to that city to look over his heritage and finds that the business consists of a shop merchandising ladies' ware. In charge of the shop is Rosalie Andre (Shannon), whom he lets continue with the management of the store, with Hardwood John boarding with Judge Clay Emerson Meredith (Whitman) and keeping his identity secret. Caroline (Westover), the Judge's granddaughter, soon attracts John's attention, and mutual love ripens. Rosalie comes to grief at the hands of one Wayne Page (Webb), the dissolute son of a rich family who is also a rival for the hand of Caroline, and John is required to use force to see that Wayne does the wronged young woman justice. John and Caroline then look forward to their own happiness.

“A youth comes to the city and is the victim of crooks. He is left by them penniless and discouraged. Driven to desperation, he becomes a safe-cracker himself, but in the end, of course, returns to honest living and marries the heroine.”

The plot was adapted from Augusta Jane Evans's 1867 novel ''St. Elmo''. The actual production was greatly shortened for the purposes of conveying the plot of the film. The synopsis in ''The Moving Picture World'' states: "St. Elmo, a wealthy young man, is betrothed to his cousin Agnes. Dick Hammond, St. Elmo's chum, is studying for the ministry. As soon as he is ordained he is to take charge of a church built for him by St. Elmo. Hammond, however, takes St. Elmo's friendship lightly and makes love to Agnes in secret. The affair is discovered by St. Elmo, who, in a rage at Hammond's perfidy, challenges him to a duel. The false friend loses his life in the ensuing combat. Edna, the granddaughter of the village blacksmith, strays upon the scene of the duel, an uninvited witness. St. Elmo is forced to flee the country. He is pursued by Agnes and the sheriff. Edna tells her first lie when she deceives St. Elmo's pursuers as to his direction and leads them completely off the trail. St. Elmo makes good his escape. On the day that Edna witnesses the duel her grandfather dies, leaving her alone in the world. She is adopted by St. Elmo's mother. Five years later the fugitive returns. Edna recognizes him as the victor of the dual but he does not remember having met her. He discovers that he loves the girl. Edna rejects his suit, declaring that she never would marry a man who had taken a human life. In desperation, St. Elmo attempts suicide, choosing as a spot the grave of Dick Hammond, but is swerved from his purpose by Edna, who relents and promises him her love and sympathy. St. Elmo decides that life is worth living if but for her sake."

Brown plays Ossie, a New York City playboy sent to California to straighten himself out. He and his cousin, while driving west, pay too much attention to a sedan full of college girls and rear end a car driven by Pancho Arango (Bela Lugosi). The cousins make it to Hollywood where Ossie falls in love with Pancho's daughter.

During an evening date, Eric Sparrow (Onur Tukel) crassly refuses a marriage proposal by his long suffering girlfriend Jody (Anna Margaret Hollyman). On the tense walk home, they run into Jody's college flame Jason (Jason Selvig), for whom Jody promptly ditches Eric. Now alone, Eric stumbles upon a man bleeding of a neck wound in an alley. Despite the man's pleas for help, Eric tactlessly jokes through the encounter until the man bleeds to death.

At work, Eric relentlessly pursues his uninterested coworker Penelope (Dakota Goldhor), all while continuously slacking at his job. After several failed attempts to reconnect with Jody, he goes on a series of three disastrous dates with Samantha (Vanna Pilgrim), Blake (Melodie Sisk), and Denise (Juliette Fairley).

While walking alone late one night, Eric is approached by a curious stranger named Gavin (Dustin Guy Defa). After forcing Eric to admit that he really wants to die, Gavin, revealed to be a vampire, bites Eric in the neck. The next day, Eric is found sleeping at his work in a shirt still stained in blood. He is promptly fired, having missed an important meeting earlier that morning.

That evening, Eric begins to suffer from strange pains and finds that he can no longer enjoy the taste of food or smoking cigarettes. In a graceless encounter, Eric bites and kills his first victim (Keith Poulson). Eric later reattempts dating Samantha, Blake, and Denise, sequentially seducing and transforming all three into vampires. Using his new powers of hypnosis, he also convinces his landlord Mr. Leiberman (Jerry Raik) to stop charging him rent. Eric again tries reconnecting with Jody, only to be punched in the face by Jason before biting his ankle in retaliation. Eric later runs into Gavin while attacking another victim, and the two exchange their views on God and the new reality they face as vampires.

Later, Jody surprisingly shows up at Eric's apartment to reconnect and the two share an intimate moment. Six months later, Eric and Jody are on their wedding night when Eric suddenly needs to feed. Jody asks Eric to bite her, but he refuses and goes out looking for blood. He runs into Penelope on the street and ends up turning her into a vampire instead. Eric arrives back at the hotel, but it turns out that Penelope followed him back. Eric and Jody proceed to argue about his fear of commitment, until Eric impulsively bites Jody. As Eric feeds, Penelope joins him and the two end up drinking too much of Jody's blood.

As Jody lies dying on the bed of the honeymoon suite, Eric and Penelope discuss the possibility of God. The two of them eventually engage in a disorderly prayer for Jody to improve and for all three of them to be normal people again. Just as they conclude, Jody, now a vampire herself, suddenly rises and demands the three of them make love.

As described in a film magazine, Clive (Standing), the younger brother of the Duke of Cheshire, is greatly relieved when the Duke marries an American woman of wealth. He then feels at liberty to pursue his conquest of the Duchess of Cheshire (Davenport), whose husband's brutality has led the Lady to seek companionship elsewhere. However, the untimely death of the Duke and Duchess throw upon his shoulders the responsibilities of the title and estate. Consequently, he becomes engaged to Cornelia Kirby, an American heiress, and looks forward to a life spent in fulfillment of duty. then a man from America arrives and claims Cornelia as his own. The death of the Duke of Cheshire leaves the way open for Clive to marry his widow and find happiness.

Hardened criminal Jim Reagan (James Kirkwood) tries to persuade his adolescent brother, Larry (Robert Agnew), to abandon their life of crime. Rather than heeding Jim's warning, Larry arrested when he tries to rob a banker named Richard Milton (Edward Martindel). Milton refuses Jim's request for leniency and Larry is thrown in jail. Jim attempts to help his brother escape prison, but the boy is fatally wounded in the process. Jim and his girlfriend, Molly (Lila Lee), resolve to have vengeance.

Jim and Molly kidnap Milton's daughter, Nadine (Madge Bellamy), after rescuing her from a shipwreck. Conveniently suffering from amnesia, Nadine becomes the unwitting foil in the plot against her father. They then open a clairvoyant parlor and tell Milton, who believes Nadine is dead, they can help him contact his daughter's spirit. Milton's initially cynicism is banished when the figure of his daughter appears and speaks to him during a seance. Through the influence of Nadine's "spirit," the mourning father is induced to spend a huge amount of money on charity. Jim and Molly plan to milk Milton for all he's worth before giving him back his daughter—dead.

During one of the many seances, Molly is touched by an unknown and mysterious power. Molly's conscience is awakened by the experience and she returns Nadine to her father. Nadine's memory returns upon seeing Milton, and the banker forgives everything.

Meanwhile, police raid Jim's headquarters. Jim escapes via a daredevil route over several buildings, and returns home to kill Molly for betraying him. Suddenly, he is overwhelmed by the memory of his laughing young brother. When Molly returns, Jim cannot kill her. Their mutual devotion to the dead boy and their love of each other is revived by Larry's memory, and Molly and Jim return to a life of good citizenship.

Amit (Mahfuz Ahmed) and Nira (Dilruba Yasmeen Ruhee), a happily married couple, live a normal life in Dhaka. Nira works in a multi-national company, therefore she goes abroad very frequently. One time, Nira goes to Singapore on an official trip leaving Amit and their son behind but doesn't come back. After a few days, Amit gets a message that she is leaving him and their son to marry Mushfiq. Amit breaks down and in the meantime their son dies from a car accident, leaving Amit totally psychic. He is later sent to a mental hospital.

Saniya (Jaya Ahsan) is the only daughter of a powerful village chief Patowari. Misusing his power, he used to forcefully marry beautiful women and killed them after few days. Seeing her fathers crimes, Saniya runs away from home and tries to commit suicide but later gets rescued by Wahid. Later in time, a physical relation builds up between Wahid and Soniya until She finds out Wahid is involved in Human trafficking, before she could do anything, He trades her to a man for money. Saniya later gets repeatedly raped and tortured before she ends up in the same hospital as Amit.

Amit and Saniya get to know each other and how each ended up where they are. Later, Amit and Saniya pledges to find the people who caused all the incidents. Amit vows to find Nira and kill her while Saniya vows to do the same with Wahid. They turns into vicious killer and kills whoever comes in their way. Iresh Zaker, Head of the Police Department tries to hunt them down after several murders caused by them and in the same time, not knowing what happened after she left, Nira decides to come back to Amit and her son. After escaping Police, Amit and Saniya takes a hideout in an abandoned factory. Upon learning that Nira came back for him, Amit calls her to the factory intending to kill her. After she arrives, police surrounds the whole factory, leaving them no choice but to surrender or stay inside. Amit, Saniya and Nira end up face to face with no option to escape. The story takes an unexpected twist at the end.

As described in a film magazine, Rodney Martin (Washburn) graduates from college with a splendid education and is surprised to find himself absolutely unprepared for a business career. However, business strangely attracts him, possible because of Mary Grayson (Wilson), his father's secretary, whom he thinks is the most proper thing in women. Since she is a businesswoman, he reasons that he must prove himself a business man. He decks out an office before he decides what line of business he will follow. A friend suggests the soap business. He straight away begins an advertising campaign that works wonders. However, the bills, when they arrive, overcome him and he faces disaster. His father comes to the rescue by appointing him as an advertising man in his organization, so all ends as it should.

In Smurf Village, the Smurfs live peacefully among themselves, each other, and their leader Papa Smurf. Some of the Smurfs include Clumsy Smurf, Brainy Smurf, Hefty Smurf and Smurfette, who was created by the evil wizard Gargamel from a lump of clay, but was redeemed by Papa Smurf and became part of the village, and yet, she feels that she doesn't fit in as she tries to find her purpose in life, which the other Smurfs have. Meanwhile, Gargamel makes it his mission to capture the Smurfs, steal all of their essence, and become the most powerful wizard in the world.

During a smurfboarding trip one day, Smurfette discovers a possible Smurf creature, only to get captured by Gargamel and taken to his castle. There, she accidentally reveals a hat the creature dropped, enabling Gargamel to create a brew that causes him to locate the village on a map. Soon enough Hefty, Brainy, and Clumsy help Smurfette escape and they return to Smurf Village, where Papa Smurf confines them to their houses as punishment for almost disobeying his orders, dismissing their claims of the existence of another Smurfs village. However, Smurfette sneaks out to look for the lost village with Brainy, Clumsy, and Hefty joining her, but Gargamel soon discovers them trying to find the village and heads out with his pet cat Azrael and his pet vulture Monty to stop them.

The four follow the map and end up in various adventures and encountering bizarre creatures, including a colony of fire-breathing dragonflies and a cavern maze, from which they eventually escape with the help a stampede of glowing green rabbits. Eventually, The four Smurfs reach to a river where they sail on a handmade raft to get to the lost village, only to encounter Gargamel, Azrael, and Monty again. Following a brief chase, Gargamel is thrown out of his own raft, leading the Smurfs to save him. However instead of thanking them, he pushes them out of their own raft, leaving them to plunge down a waterfall.

However, as Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty, and Clumsy crawl on a beach, it is discovered they only saved Gargamel because Brainy's pack is ruined.

The four are soon captured by the leaf-covered creatures who reveal themselves to be female Smurfs. They are taken to Smurfy Grove where they meet Smurf Storm, Smurf Blossom, Smurf Lily (the Smurf from earlier), Smurf Melody, and their leader Smurf Willow, who all welcome the Smurfs to their humble home. Smurf Storm and Clumsy head away from the village to locate Gargamel and alert the others. During the trip, Clumsy reveals that Smurfette was created by Gargamel, which causes Smurf Storm to distrust Smurfette. Gargamel, who was led into a piranha-infested swamp, and Azrael spot Clumsy and Smurf Storm, and has Monty attack them, but they fly away to return to the village.

Following a village tour, Smurfette begins to grow accustomed to life in Smurfy Grove, much to the dismay of Hefty and Brainy. Smurf Storm and Clumsy come back revealing that Smurfette was created by Gargamel. The female Smurfs prepare an attack that night but instead of Gargamel, Papa Smurf having discovered the quartet's absence, arrives to bring them home and the female Smurfs accept him into their home. Unfortunately, Gargamel, Azrael, and Monty suddenly invade and destroy Smurfy Grove, capturing every Smurf. However, Smurfette is spared because Gargamel has noted that she is not a real Smurf, and thus, is of no more use to him, and they leave. Feeling heartbroken for her actions, Smurfette is shown a picture of herself with her friends, and after realizing what not being a real Smurf truly means, she heads back to Gargamel's lair to save her fellow Smurfs.

At Gargamel's lair, Brainy makes a plan to escape, which Papa Smurf and Smurf Willow accept. Hefty, Brainy, Clumsy, and some of the female Smurfs succeed at the plan until Gargamel and Azrael spot them and put Clumsy and some other female Smurfs into his Smurfilator, a machine capable of extracting their essence. But before the plan succeeds, Smurfette arrives and deceives Gargamel into believing she wants to be an evil Smurf again. Satisfied at her false proclamation, Gargamel willingly tries to turn Smurfette evil again, only to realize that Smurfette is actually absorbing his magical powers instead, to the point where the lair explodes, sending him, Azrael, and Monty flying back into the piranha lake. The Smurfs are freed but despite their victory, Smurfette has been reverted to a lifeless lump of clay.

Back at Smurf Village, the Smurfs make a memorial for Smurfette, and silently mourn her loss, with Papa Smurf referring to her as the truest Smurf of them all. Luckily, their energy and love for Smurfette revived her back. Everyone including Smurf Village are rejoiced that Smurfette was a true blue smurf.

During the credits, Gargamel, Azrael, and Monty walk back to their lair and Gargamel wrongfully blames Azrael for ruining his plans instead of his own idiocy, and thus, reveals Azrael's adoption, while trying to stop the music and the rolling credits.

The official synopsis of the film survives in ''The Moving Picture World''. It states: "Sikes, a gentleman of the Raffles order, reads in the paper that Mrs. Eldridge, a young society woman, who alleged that she had been robbed of her jewels, confessed that she had in reality pawned them - admitting that the robbery was a prearranged affair in which she played the leading role and her maid the supporting one. Sikes decides to have it appear that the lady robbed herself a second time. Disguised as a clergyman, he obtains the jewels. Naturally, everybody believes Mrs. Eldridge [is lying] again [...]! And then - a clever detective turns up and shows [that the] public opinion [is] mistaken by fastening the offense on the real offender." It is likely that Anna Rosemond played the role of Mrs. Eldridge and that Frank H. Crane played the role of Sikes.

As described in a film magazine, Lady Marion Grimwood (Dalton) finds little congeniality in her union with Sir Robert Grimwood (Cook) and welcomes the innocent attentions of John Heritage (Mortimer) when he shows an interest in her. The sudden death of her husband by drowning is apparently explained when she receives a note claiming that Sir Robert knew of her attachment to John before his death. While she ponders over this, unwilling to believe in its entirety, she is attacked by Sir Waiverly (Neill), whose attempt to kill her is blocked. It is then discovered that a Chinese man, Ling Foo, possesses a poison that paralyzes will power. This, it is discovered, was the cause of Sir Robert's death. With this last obstacle removed, Lady Marion and John look forward to a life of happiness.

As described in a film magazine, Tod Burke (Ray), a laborer in Peter Garton's (Conklin) steel mill, is severely injured while saving the life of his employer. Because he is without a family, Tod is taken to the Garton mansion to recuperate. The steel magnate becomes very attached to Tod and adopts him. As soon as he has regained his health, he rushes to the home of his sweetheart Janet Muir (George) to tell her of his good luck. He is ejected from the home by Angus Muir (Mailes), Janet's grandfather, who is a bitter enemy of Garton. The feud between Muir and Garton has existed for many years, and had its origin in the unscrupulous dealings by which Muir gained control of Muir's business. Tod continues his work in Garton's offices only because Janet says his career depends upon it. However, he is heartbroken at not being able to see his fiancée. She is sad because of the illness of her grandfather and the straitened circumstances of the family. Tod takes Janet into his office as a stenographer, but warns that she must not disclose her identity or tell her grandfather the truth of her employment. Garton discovers Janet is a Muir and immediately discharges her. Tod becomes angry and leaves with Janet. The grandfather learns of Janet's firing and goes to the Garton mansion for revenge. Janet and Tod go after him and arrive in time to effect a reconciliation between Muir and Garton.

Maggie Kemlich is a blind woman who leads an active, independent life despite her disability. Maggie witnesses robbers murder her husband, Gordon, using a stun gun. However, with the exception of Det. Mike Tuthill, police dismiss her observations due to the fact that she is blind. Police arrest the men who they believe committed the murder, but Maggie goes public with the fact that she believes they have the wrong men, prompting the murderers to come after her. She then seeks out to identify the true killers, and sets up a trap to enact revenge.

Det. Mike Tuthill shows up at Maggie's loft to check on her, but Maggie knocks him unconscious, believing him to be one of the killers. The killers show up at Maggie's loft shortly thereafter, and she traps them in the elevator, temporarily blinds them using high intensity camera lights, and shocks them with a stun gun. One of the killers, Remy, escapes the elevator and attacks Maggie, but she shoots him using Det. Tuthill's gun. Still alive, Remy tricks Maggie into wasting bullets by throwing items in various directions. Det. Tuthill regains consciousness and fights Remy, but Remy pins him to the ground and chokes him with a pipe. Tuthill tells Maggie that the killer is on top of him and to shoot. Maggie hesitates, fearing that she will hit Tuthill, but does shoot, hitting Remy and killing him.

Evil sorceress Queen Ravenna's powers allow her to know that her younger sister Princess Freya, whose powers have not yet emerged, is not only involved in an illicit affair with nobleman Andrew, but is also pregnant with his child. Freya gives birth to a baby girl, but later discovers that Andrew has murdered their child. In grief-fueled rage, her broken heart freezes over and she kills him with her sudden emergence of powers - the elemental control of ice.

Freya runs away, building herself a new kingdom in the icy mountains in the north. Ruling as the much-feared Ice Queen, she orders parents to be killed and their children to be abducted and brought to her castle so they can be trained to be an army of huntsmen to conquer for her, and she teaches them to avoid the pain of love that she suffered. Despite the training, two of her best huntsmen, Eric and Sara, fall in love. Sara claims Eric in "marriage" by giving him her mother's medallion necklace. They plan to escape to a free life together but are discovered by Freya. Sara is apparently killed while Eric is beaten and thrown into a river.

Seven years later, after Ravenna's death (in the first film), Queen Snow White falls ill after hearing Ravenna's Magic Mirror beckon her. Because of its dark magic, she orders it to be taken to Sanctuary, the magical place that sheltered her during the events leading to Ravenna's defeat, where the Mirror's magic can be contained. Snow White's husband, William, informs Eric that the soldiers tasked with carrying the Mirror went missing en route. Knowing its dark magic can make Freya stronger, Eric agrees to try and retrieve the Mirror; Snow White's dwarf ally Nion and his half-brother Gryff accompany him.

They travel to the last location of the soldiers. Eric discovers they killed one another with their own weapons. The trio are attacked by Freya's huntsmen and are rescued by Sara, revealed to be alive. Sara explains that she was imprisoned by Freya all this time, and only escaped recently. She has not forgiven Eric, thinking that he abandoned her. They decipher that Eric was shown an illusion of Sara's death, while she was made to see him running rather than fighting to help. Eric manages to convince her that Freya tricked them.

The next day, the group go to the forest of the goblins who stole the mirror. During the fight, Sara notices that Eric still wears the necklace she gave him. They retrieve the mirror and after a fight in which Eric protects Sara and she saves him, the group makes it out unharmed. That night, Eric and Sara have sex. The next morning, Freya attacks and reveals Sara has been loyal to her all along. Sara shoots an arrow at Eric, who appears to die. Freya departs with the Mirror but is unaware that Sara purposely hit Eric's medallion necklace, protecting him from dying. At her palace, Freya asks the Mirror who is the "fairest of them all," resurrecting Ravenna, who became one with the Mirror when Snow White vanquished her.

Eric attempts to assassinate Freya, but is stopped by Ravenna. Ravenna begins to attack the huntsmen, and Freya, who has come to regard the huntsmen as her own children, protects them with an ice wall. As Eric, Sara, and the huntsmen climb over the wall to retrieve the Mirror and help Freya, the sisters argue. Ravenna lets slip that she's responsible for Freya's powers. Suspicious, Freya forces Ravenna (who as the mirror's captive spirit must answer her summoner's questions truthfully) to reveal that the Mirror had told her Freya's child would become more beautiful than Ravenna. Ravenna then enchanted Andrew to kill the baby so she could remain "the fairest of them all." Outraged, Freya turns on her sister but is impaled by her. With her remaining strength, she freezes the Mirror and Eric shatters it, destroying Ravenna. As Freya dies, she smiles, both at Sara and Eric, and at a vision of her younger self holding her baby.

With Freya's death, those who had been imprisoned by her magic are set free. Eric, Sara and the huntsmen look forward to a new future, with Eric and Sara happy to have a free life together for the first time.

In a post-credits scene, Snow White is seen from behind, as a mysterious golden bird lands on the balcony next to her.

Arnulfo Rubio smuggles weapons for a Mexican cartel. He is using an American associate, who buys the weapons in the United States for him. During one of the weapons purchases, ATF agent Hank Harris attempts to apprehend Arnulfo, but is surprised and knocked out by Arnulfo's American partner, who flees the scene immediately. A panicked Arnulfo restrains the unconscious Hank and loads him into a secret compartment of his SUV, driving over the border into Mexico with him. There, he lets Hank sit on the backseat, still handcuffed, while he drives to his hometown.

During the drive, they get into a roadblock set up by a different cartel. They are almost killed by the enforcers when they notice that a handcuffed American is in the car, but Hank is able to negotiate free passage by mentioning the names of several cartel members and assuring that he is doing business with them.

While driving further, Hank and Arnulfo begin to talk to each other and get closer, with Hank mentioning that his wife has died from a stroke 6 months ago and that they were unable to have children.

When they arrive, Arnulfo takes Hank to his uncle, a cartel member, and tries to explain that Hank could be useful to them with his knowledge of cartel information. His uncle, furious because Arnulfo created trouble by bringing an American government employee to him, ignores his explanation. He demands that Arnulfo kill Hank. When Arnulfo cannot bring himself to do it, his uncle attempts to shoot Hank, only to be shot and killed himself at the last second by Arnulfo.

Hank and Arnulfo try to flee the country, with Hank calling some associates to arrange a safe extraction to the United States. They wait at the house of another of Arnulfo's uncles for Hank's associates. But the uncle secretly has alerted the cartel, who send enforcers to catch and/or kill both. Hank is able to flee the house while Arnulfo is caught. But Hank returns, shoots and kills the enforcers and flees with Arnulfo.

Somewhere in the desert in the border country between Mexico and the United States, Hank lets Arnulfo get out of the car and drives away, leaving Arnulfo surprised and confused.

The film ends with a domestic scene at Hank's home which shows that, in contrast to what he told Arnulfo, Hank's wife is still alive and it is implied that he has children.

A couple living in Victorian London endure an unusual series of psychological and supernatural happenings following the birth of their child.

The game is set in 2056, within the Hong Kong Free Enterprise Zone, a city which is effectively controlled directly by the corporations. Unlike the previous games, the player has a backstory tied to other characters. The player was once an orphan on the streets of Seattle, along with their foster brother Duncan, when they were adopted by a man known as Raymond Black. However, the player became estranged from Raymond and Duncan after getting arrested and sent to a corporate prison eight years before the events of the game. After being released, the player gets a message from Raymond requesting that they and Duncan meet him in Hong Kong.

The player travels to Hong Kong and meets up with Duncan, who had joined a private police organization known as the Lone Star, and his superior officer Carter. The three agree to investigate Raymond's mysterious message, and, noting that he has not come to the rendezvous, traverse through the docks looking for him before encountering a team of Shadowrunners. They learn that the runners were hired by Raymond to escort them, but Carter and two of the runners are killed in an ambush by the Hong Kong Police Force. The four survivors manage to escape to Heoi, a small boat village on the outskirts of the Walled City: an overcrowded, nightmarish slum built on the ruins of the old one. In Heoi, they go to meet the runners' fixer, the Yellow Lotus Triad crime boss Kindly Cheng, who grants Duncan and the player her protection in exchange for their services as Shadowrunners. Since it becomes clear that the HKPF is acting on behalf of someone else, Cheng agrees to investigate who has been trying to kill them and what happened to Raymond. The player also gets acquainted with the surviving Shadowrunners who make up their team - Gobbet (an Orc street-shaman), Is0bel (a Dwarf cyberdecker), Racter (a Russian rigger partnered with his self-built drone named Koschei) and Gaichu (a former Japanese assassin turned ghoul, who can be later rescued by the player and recruited).

As the game progresses, Cheng and the team finds out that Raymond was captured by Josephine Tsang, the CEO of Tsang Mechanical Services and member of Hong Kong's ruling Executive Council. It is then revealed that Raymond is actually Josephine's son, Edward Tsang, and that he had worked with her to construct the new Walled city in the 2010s. During this time the nightmares the player suffers become increasingly disturbing, implying that something terrible is coming.

After rescuing him from Tsang's headquarters, Raymond reveals that many years ago, he had learned to create devices that could manipulate qi; the force of magic and luck, noting that places predominant with positive qi would become prosperous with good fortune. During a refugee crisis in Hong Kong, Raymond and Josephine came up with an idea to recreate the Walled City around an enormous qi machine dubbed 'Prosperity', which malfunctioned. Despite Raymond's pleas, Josephine claimed that the device was too expensive to salvage, and the device was abandoned, and with the qi becoming even worse than it was, the Walled city devolved into a nightmarish slum. Edward eventually ran to Seattle, and lived his life under the name Raymond Black, before suffering nightmares related to the Walled City. Realizing that whatever entity that had broken the machine was now attempting to enter reality, Raymond had decided to return to shut it down himself.

After arriving in Heoi, it becomes clear that the astral entity is demonic Yama King Qian Ya: The Queen of a Thousand Teeth, and that she is the source of the nightmares caused as she breaks into reality to become ruler of the Walled City. The player's team enters the Walled City to confront Qian Ya, at which point the player may choose from three endings: Allowing Raymond to sacrifice himself to Qian Ya to destroy Prosperity, betraying Raymond to Qian Ya to allow her to take over the Walled City, or forcing Qian Ya to return to her realm under threat of releasing the other Yama Kings, who would destroy her.

Returning to Heoi, it is revealed that the madness that gripped the Walled City was provoked by an external module that Josephine ordered installed on the machine, that siphoned all of the positive qi while leaving the negative effects behind, pooling to the point that the distortion could allow Qian Ya to manifest in the real world. In the game's epilogue, the final confrontation in the Walled City is written off as the events of a drug lab accident causing mass hallucinations. With the machine destroyed, Josephine can no longer siphon the qi, and her company is eventually bought out. If the player had found evidence of her misdeeds in her headquarters, then she is arrested and sent to jail, where she later hangs herself. It is also mentioned that the player continues to operate out of Heoi as a shadowrunner without an APB on their head, now undisturbed by dreams.

;Extended Edition - Shadows of Hong Kong

The extended edition of the game is set some time after the events of the main story. Following a botched mission that results in the player and their team being captured by the HKPF, they meet Senior Investigators Lem and Qiu, the latter of which represents Mitsuhama Corporation, who is HKPF's primary source of equipment and funding. Qiu explains that she and Lem are leading a task force investigating the HKPF's Special Duties unit, which has been gaining infamy for their violent and often excessive methods against citizens of Hong Kong. Qiu also tells the player that Chief Inspector Krait, the woman in charge of the Special Duties Unit, is the one responsible for the all points bulletin that forced the player and Duncan to become shadowrunners in the first place, and requests their assistance due to the player's prior experience with Krait. With Kindly Cheng's authorization, the player and their team agree to work for the task force.

The player infiltrates the SDU's headquarters to gather evidence against Krait, but are ambushed by Lem, who betrays the player and Qiu to the SDU. Qiu, revealing herself to be a mage who was suppressing her powers to draw out the mole within the task force, overpowers and kills Lem and assists the player's team in fighting their ways out of the headquarters. Realizing that the entire task force is compromised, Qiu enlists the help of Captain Jomo to take her and the player's team to the Benteng, a heavily-armed pirate cargo ship out of reach of the SDU.

Investigating Lam's salvaged PDA, Qiu and the player discover a link between Krait and Ares Macrotecnology, who intends to wrest the HKPF from Mitsuhama. Following a lead to a warehouse in Tai Po, the player and Qiu discover Ares hardware, vehicles and machinery that are to be used against the population of Hong Kong as a namesmearing campaign, accelerating Ares' buyout of the HKPF. The player then confronts Krait herself; if they have gathered sufficient evidence, the player can deduce that Krait is actually a mercenary hired by Ares, and convince her to abandon her mission by proving that Ares intends to have her eliminated once their buyout of the HKPF is completed.

In the aftermath, when leaving the warehouse, the player receives a call from Kindly Cheng, where she orders the warehouse burned down, while Qiu wishes the warehouse be left intact as evidence for Mitsuhama, in exchange for restoring the player and Duncan's legal identities. If the player sides with Cheng and destroys the warehouse, Duncan abandons them in disgust, while the player continues their life as a shadowrunner, helping Cheng establish Yellow Lotus dominance in both Hong Kong and Seattle. If the player sides with Qiu, she restores their and Duncan's citizenship statuses, allowing them to return home to Seattle, but leaving the fate of Kindly Cheng and the rest of their team unknown as Yellow Lotus is defeated by the Red Dragon Triad.

A security expert Kyle Western (Weathers) begins working for the high-profile gangster Lou Jordan (Williams), who is an antique-car enthusiast. When Jordan shoots dead an intruder one evening, Western is pressured into taking the fall, in return for a large cash sum, to which Western hopes will enable him to buy Napa Valley land as an upright citizen. Soon after Jordan murders his own wheelchair-bound attorney in front of Western's eyes. Having already started an affair with Jordan's wife, Meg (McKee), Western decides to go on the run with her after discovering she is pregnant with his child. Trading the luxury car given to Western by his boss, the pair flee with Jordan's hitmen on their trial. However henchman Frank Carmen (Boswell) fatally stabs Meg Jordan in a coffee shop. The waitress Angela (Carrillo) witnesses the event, and flees, becoming sought after by both the henchmen and Western, as she is the only witness to be able to clear Western in Meg's murder. After a confrontation, Western kills Carmen, but another henchman, Walt (Tony DiBenedetto), kidnaps Angela. A final confrontation at Jordan's warehouse sees Western trade Lou his prized antique sports car for Angela. After escaping the warehouse Western detonates the explosives rigged on the car.

In the frame story, the main character is a girl called Sigrún. The world is in the grip of an economic crisis, and Sigrún's parents are convinced by adverts to buy three flat-pack boxes which turn out to be boxes in which, when the box is closed, time stands still. Each family member enters their own box, in the expectation that all will automatically be released at the same time, once the recession is over.

However, Sigrún's box opens early, and she finds her home overgrown and inhabited by animals; lacking the requisite type of allen key, she is unable to open her parents' boxes. It later emerges that the more adults attempted to escape the recession by entering time-boxes, the deeper the recession grew, until everyone had shut themselves in a time-box, leaving all the physical remains of human civilisation to decay. Sigrún and other children in a similar situation converge on the home of the only adult who is not in a time-box, a mysterious old woman called Svala.

Svala recounts to the children the story of Hrafntinna, the Princess of Pangea (who later turns out to be Svala herself). The story explains that a male ancestor of Hrafntinna's was taught by three mysterious sisters to command animals by means of spells. The sisters prohibited him from using these powers to harm people. People are so impressed by this man that he becomes king, and his powers enable him to establish agriculture, urbanisation, and the first state: Pangea. One of his descendants is King Dímon. Dímon's first love dies in childbirth, after begetting Hrafntinna. Dímon, overcome by sorrow and rage, is convinced by a mysterious accountant called Exel to use his power over animals to conquer the world in the name of his new daughter.

Hrafntinna grows up seeing little of her warring father; she is prevented by her status and court custom from making friends, and is unaware of her father's megalomania and tyranny. The situation is exacerbated when Dímon completes his conquest of Pangea, only to realise that he cannot conquer time. He offers half his kingdom to anyone who enables him to conquer time and preserve Hrafntinna's beauty. The challenge is met by a group of dwarves, among the last survivors of a genocidal war by Dímon's father. They present Dímon with a chest made from spiders' silk through which time cannot penetrate. Hrafntinna is put inside and is only allowed out occasionally, staying the same age as others age around her.

Decapitating the dwarves, Dímon accidentally cuts Pangea in two, losing half his kingdom. He sets off to reconquer it. In the King's absence, his second wife Gunnhildur and a self-appointed monk, Ígull Kórall, use the unwitting Hrafntinna to establish a cult of the 'immortal princess', using her to control their people. Hrafntinna is visited by a would-be thief, the child Kári, who opens the time-chest, becomes Hrafntinna's first and only friend, and secretly visits her once a month; the two fall in love.

Eventually, Gunnhildur and Ígull plot to murder Hrafntinna. Kári and Dímon independently try to save her, Kári shooting Gunnhildur and Dímon Ígull. However, Dímon's arrow passes through Ígull and enters Hrafntinna's heart. The time-chest preserves Hrafntinna's life just at the point of death. Dímon is killed by a popular revolt; Kári spends his life making another time-chest for himself in the hope of joining Hrafntinna in the future; and the city is abandoned.

Hrafntinna is rediscovered in the modern era by an archaeologist/treasure-hunter, Jakob Cromwell, and saved from death by modern medicine. Jakob discovers the secret of the time-chest, founds the company Tímax, and mass-produces his own time-boxes, leading adults to shun responsibility for their children and their society by simply waiting for bad times to pass, with terrible consequences.

Having learned the cause of their predicament from Hrafntinna/Svala, Sigrún and her friends find Cromwell and release the spiders which made the time-boxes; the spiders eat the boxes and human society is revived. The story ends with Svala/Hrafntinna finding Kári's time-chest and at last meeting her lost love.

As described in a film magazine, 'Silent' Budd Marr (Hart) comes to the town of Bakeoven to spend some of the gold for which he had labored so hard. Through Handsome Jack Pressley (McKim) he gets into a fight, and is confined to bed for a couple of weeks during which his claim is stolen. All efforts to regain his property are unsuccessful, so when he finds the claim jumpers loading their loot on the stage coach, he holds it up, and at the same time rescues Betty Bryce (Vale), a young woman Pressley had lured with the promise of marriage to work in his dance hall. As the girl learns the true nature of Pressley she is thankful and soon falls in love with Budd. A stranger known as Uncle Grubstake (Lockney) has become friendly with Bud and Betty's brother David (Goodwin), and when the citizens attempt to hang Budd for robbing the coach, Grubstake reveals his true identity as a federal agent, and has the evidence that gets Pressley and his gang arrested. Budd and Betty end up happy.

Lunsan tells Petter and Anders she is afraid of the dark. When Petter and Anders boast that they are not, she challenges them and gives them a mission: to sleep overnight inside a deserted and supposedly haunted house outside the village where they live.

Neither of them knows that the other is also there, and they both spend a disturbed night hearing strange noises. It is not until the next day that they learn they have in fact frightened each other.

At the Post's home, Hal Dunton sits down with his love interest Sue Post, cautiously checking to see if they are alone. Hal then proposes to Sue and in the excitement, her father comes into the room. He is outraged and believes his daughter is too young to be married and promptly makes Hal leave before scolding his daughter. Before departing, Hal meets and pleads with the father as he takes the daughter away by car. The father refuses and Hal is knocked down before the father and daughter depart to a boarding school. The father meets with the mistress and leaves Sue in her care, much to Sue's distress.

Whisked away from her home and her beloved, Sue is in despair until Hal appears outside her window with a ladder. The attempted elopement fails when the mistress catches Hal in the act and dismisses him. She awaits Sue to descend and round the corner before halting her and forcing her back inside. The father pulls up to a place of business and Hal, who is walking by, attempts to greet the father. The angry father ignores him, but Hal turns and sees the wigmaker's store next to him. An idea strikes him and he pays a photographer to get a photo of the father on the way out, which further angers him. Hal then sends a message to Sue, that he will come and claim her the following day, disguised as her father.

Hal head to the wigmaker and is disguised as the father. So well is the disguise that the father's chauffeur is convinced and takes Hal to the boarding school. The father quickly exits in time to see his chauffeur drive away and hails a taxi. Hal arrives at the boarding school and the disguise works, claims Sue and drives away. Seconds later the father arrives and confronts the mistress, departing to pursue in a fit of anger. Hal and Sue go to the parson's house to be immediately wed. The father is delayed for a short time by car trouble, but quickly arrives before the two are wed. He bursts in and sees his double and both he and Hal laugh. The father relents and approves the marriage as Hal removes his disguise in front of the stunned Parson.

As described in a film magazine, Hawk Parsons (Hart), escaping a sheriff's posse, comes upon Ruth Ingram (Novak) and a group of missionaries on their way to the frontier. The band is attacked by Indians and Parsons assists them until he sees the approaching cavalry, so he demands that the band sell Ruth for their freedom. Ruth agrees and leaves her sick husband so that the others might be saved. Through the innocence of the young woman Parsons finds his better self and returns her to her little party and husband, and then gives himself up to the cavalry.

As Christmas descends Midsomer Morton Shallows, a new Detective Sergeant arrives, in the name of Charlie Nelson. However, unrest soon breaks out as local furniture maker and serial philanderer Conor Bridgeman is stabbed to death with an antique sword during a ghost-hunting party. The owner of the house, Simon Fergus-Johnson and the rest of his family are astonished when they discover their new venture has gone horrifically wrong. Brendan Pearce, a local historian, is quick to accuse the blacksmith's daughter, Rose Wilton. But there's just one problem; Rose is a ghost...

Conor's widow Mel is stunned to learn he was cheating on her with her singing teacher, Felicity Hearn. More secrets are spilled when it appears Conor had attempted to negotiate with Fergus to buy the haunted manor, but the discussion was fractious. Beliefs continue to lure in the air when Ross Clymer, landlord of local pub Blacksmith Arms, brands his pub as an "original haunted site". There's also a recording of the night Conor died, with a ghost-like girl's voice in the background.

Simon's wife Tabby keeps close contact with Ross. Brendan has high hopes that Conor's death will boost the café and shop he runs with wife Libs. Valerie Fergus-Johnson gets in contact with Barnaby, and tells him that she was her father's carer from the age of thirteen, and that Simon had toured the world before inheriting the manor. Simon and Tabby row as the manor lies in disorder, ignoring daughter Pippa. Pippa decides to wonder off, going in search for Dev Kardek, a student obsessed in the paranormal. When she finds him he seems busy writing his PhD.

Mel visits Felicity, while Barnaby discovers Brendan's fixation over village matters began after Conor broke his daughter's heart - resulting in her leaving home. Despite the motives in place, Brendan denies murdering Conor.

Army major Ollie Tabori returns to the village of Morton Shallows, and instantly searches for Valerie. When Ollie arrives in the pub, Ross is furious and chucks him out. Pippa and Dev plan a vigil regarding part of their studies. As night dawns, the pub is in lock-down where Ross prepares to search for the ghost in his pub. He is joined by several residents. Nelson stands by as the lights are switched off and the hunt begins. He sees something and head off to investigate, trapping Felicity who is playing the tape of the ghostly girl's voice. As the lights are switched back on and the residents gather, they realise Ross is missing. He's been bludgeoned to death with a blacksmith's hammer.

As described in a film magazine, Rupert Bawlf (Ellis) is a settlement worker and has done wonders with the tough districts of the town. His wife Cynthia (Kirkham), although she loathes the work, cheerfully helps him because of her great love for him. Missy (Martin), a factory girl, by her knowledge of conditions, is able to help Oliver and he falls in love with her. To protect Bawlf's name from scandal, as mudslinging newspapers are watching, Oliver Cloyne (Ford), a millionaire who is keen on the work Bawlf is doing, persuades Missy to marry him although he is in love, hopelessly, with Mrs. Bawlf. Oliver learns that Missy is a granddaughter of the owner of the factory in which she works, having assumed the role of factory girl to assist in welfare work. After an imitation honeymoon, Oliver and his heiress bride, who is his wife in name only, return home where Rupert and Cynthia Bawlf seek them out. Cynthia, falling ill, goes away for a rest. Rupert persuades Missy to assist him in his welfare work, and when she agrees, he attempts to force his attentions upon her again. She resists, and shows him what a fool he is. While on an inspection tour of a new building, Missy is locked in by a crazed old woman who, as revenge for the death of her daughter in a factory fire, sets fire to the building to kill Missy in the same way. Oliver, first suspecting that Missy has run off with Rupert, learns the truth and rescues Missy from the fire.

One particular newsboy (Spere) falls for her after she beats him up. The tenement in which Alannah lives is owned by the city's unjust mayor. When the District Attorney announces his candidacy for mayor, Alannah aids his campaign by gathering evidence to expose the mayor as a hypocrite.
