He is always immersed in his own pool of thoughts and does not care about surroundings. Kigan is frequently suspended from his job as a professor of art due to his unusual activities in the class like consuming alcohol in the class etc. He is eventually fired from his job for doing scandalous photo shoots of an unknown rickshaw puller with one of his female students in college. But instead of being depressed for losing job, he is now very much happy for being an independent artist who is his own's owner. Kigan starts to visualise Devi Durga as a young girl, who always accompanies him in his works. Gradually Kigan develops a love and care towards that young girl. Kigan plans to create something historical, majestic, immortal centring Durga. So he calls up Aditi (played by Nusrat Jahan) who is his friend and also has an affection towards him. She and Kigan were students of same art college. Kigan tells Aditi that he wants to create world's largest Durga idol at Deshbandhu park where Aditi's father (played by Biplab) is a patron. Aditi agrees and arranges a meeting between Kigan and the committee. They mock Kigan at first but later agree for the project after seeing a demo of the idol done by Kigan in a tennis court. The puja committee previously worked with a large corporate company as sponsor, which is run by Bodhi who is a friend of Kigan and husband of Aditi. Bodhi agrees to work with them at a condition that, they have to remove Kigan as the maker but Aditi's father disagrees to remove Kigan, so they work with a new company. The new company makes terrible marketing of the puja through ads, banners etc. So people become very enthusiastic about the puja. Meanwhile, Bodhi is very much depressed as Kigan's creation becomes very popular among people and beats any other puja pandal in terms of crowd. Bodhi plans to demolish Deshbandhu park's puja and take revenge against Kigan One morning Bodhi reaches the site and meets his old friend Kigan. Bodhi appreciates Kigan's work but tells him that the idol would be no more open as it would be destroyed by Bodhi. Kigan thinks that Bodhi is just joking and tells him that if he can destroy it then he can proceed but the idol will remain as long as Kigan is alive. Bodhi just smiles and goes away. Meanwhile, the puja committee organises a party where Aditi's father introduces Kigan to other guests as Aditi's future husband. Aditi also agrees but Kigan creates a mess by mocking Aditi's father there. He tells he only loves Aditi as a friend and doesn't want to marry her as according to Kigan, Bodhi is the perfect husband for her already. Aditi's father feels embarrassed and suffers a cerebral attack after which he becomes paralyzed. Now Aditi turns against Kigan and thinks that Kigan is responsible for his father's condition. Meanwhile, Kigan's pandal attracts crowds. Bodhi makes plans to create fake bomb blasts in the puja campus and create a mess. According to his plans a terrible mess occurs at the pandal, several people are stampeded. Bodhi even pays the media to cover this incident exclusively and promote it more seriously than the actual incident, eventually the police authorities ban the puja and order for the dismantle of the idol after puja. Kigan is put into jail for quarrelling with police. Later Bodhi releases Kigan from jail and on way to home he explains Kigan that he took his revenge by getting the puja banned from public. Kigan requests Bodhi to open the puja after 2–3 days but Bodhi disagrees. Kigan then challenges Bodhi that he would reopen the puja till immersion. Meanwhile, Kigan owns up to his mistakes to Aditi and they get reunited again. Next day Kigan investigates that only two persons were injured not many and it was a paid fake news. Kigan has meetings with police commissioner, governor regarding reopening of the puja but everywhere he gets negative response. Out of utter depression Kigan goes to Bodhi's house, determined that Bodhi is responsible for all this and he would kill Bodhi. Kigan and Bodhi have a fight where Kigan is about to kill Bodhi but then Bodhi's son attacks Kigan with a bat and Kigan falls. Bodhi scolds his son for hitting an elder person but Kigan supports him. Then Bodhi tells that he doesn't want to make his son like Kigan, so he will teach him proper manners. Here Bodhi discloses that his son is not his but actually Kigan's and he has tendered him as his own child and always has been a good father because he wants to make him a gentleman and an not as irresponsible as Kigan. Bodhi also discloses that Aditi has always been loving Kigan though Bodhi has always been a good husband. Even though he has brought up Kigan's child as his own child, Aditi has never developed any feeling towards him so he decided to finish Kigan who has destroyed his own family for that he has also destroyed his masterpiece creation. Bodhi repents that he is the Asur (villain) and begs pardon from Kigan. Bodhi also discloses that he is not the only one associated with this planning but Aditi is also responsible for this. Aditi thought of taking revenge from Kigan after her father's incident so she had been involved in this case. Kigan is completely devastated by listening all this. He thinks that he had been responsible for all this. His work was pious but he forgot all the relationships for his art. So he leaves the place by telling that he is leaving for Nevada where he would stay undisturbed. Meanwhile, Kigan comes to Aditi and questions her about her deeds. Aditi tells that she had done everything for Kigan more than any friend, but Kigan refused her love, he didn't thought of her. So she decided to go against Kigan. But she realised that she had done everything wrong and they can start a new beginning where Kigan, Bodhi and she would live together happily. Kigan can build his idol again in the next puja. But Kigan was desolated and he says that some things cannot be built again and he belongs to the tribe of Asur where yes means yes and no means no. After that he leaves that place. Bodhi's son finds out that in Nevada there is a particular ritual of burning of idols by the artists himself. This information strikes Bodhi and he quickly visits Deshbandhu park's puja pandal along with Aditi. But by that time Kigan has set the pandal on fire along with himself. He promises durga that their story will remain forever though the idol will be destroyed. Kigan dies but after some time heavy rain saves the pandal from burning completely and the statue is saved. The governor in Kigan's memorial service announces that Kigan's work would be preserved forever and would be a landmark of dedication towards art. In the last scene it is seen that Bodhi and Aditi has been reunited and they are watching the statue which is being carried away by a helicopter and Bodhi's son is seen to be playing with Kigan's measuring tape and dreams to be an artist. The story questions that who is actually the Asur (villain)? As from one angle Bodhi is correct and has specific reasons for going against his dearest friend Kigan. In other angle Kigan is the villain as he had been a failure in understanding real life relationships and had always indulged himself in his arts. ===== Soya the snake is building a "3D puzzle" or model of a T-Rex. When a performance at an amateur theatre showcase goes awry, Reuben is bullied by the troupe leader and a sign language interpreter. Derek Shanahan, a profoundly deaf man from the audience (played by Joshua Sealy) comes to vindicate him and the two form a friendship which quickly turns into a sexual relationship. As Derek and Reuben discuss their mutual ambitions within the arts and political activism, Reuben discloses his troubled past and the origins of his speech impediment. Derek encourages Reuben to steer his work away from theater and into independent film, offering to support him, where needed. Shortly after, Derek seeks out Reuben's dream mentor, Gareth Donahue (played by Paul Mercurio) to help him bring his story, titled The Burden of Being Me to the screen. Gareth, meanwhile, has reached a low point in his career. He is over 50, lamenting his lost youth and fading career. Hungry for a chance to make a comeback, Gareth agrees to meet with Reuben and discuss their collaboration on The Burden of Being Me. Derek is also present at the meeting and is quick to point out Gareth's self-obsessed narcissism. but Reuben overlooks his observations, blind-sighted by the support that Gareth offers. Derek's mother, Faye Shanahan, and sister, Courtney, are deeply protective of Derek and treat Reuben's artistic ambitions with skepticism. Faye, a painter, discourages Derek's involvement with Reuben's filmmaking, in favor of noble causes to support deaf education and advocating human rights in the footsteps of Helen Keller. Reuben recognizes the hypocrisy and continues to pursue his film with Derek and Gareth. Almost immediately after receiving the script of The Burden of Being Me, Gareth begins to amend the characters and plot to suit him as both an actor and a producer. His wife, Lillian Donahue, a highly respected entertainment attorney, is captivated by the screenplay and recognizes Reuben as a talented writer. But Gareth uses his industry expertise and gas-lighting tactics to seize creative control from Reuben, while also manipulating Lillian to help him, using her long-delayed desire to have children as leverage for emotional blackmail. Obediently, Lillian writes up contracts that highly favor Gareth's interests and leave Reuben empty handed. Immediately conflicted by guilt, Lillian stands idly by, as Gareth pressures Reuben to sign the contracts and grant him 100% of the rights. When Reuben realizes that he has been swindled, Faye offers to help finance Reuben's next project, effectively giving her blessing for he and Derek to collaborate in the future. This offer is quickly retracted when Reuben accidentally makes a spectacle of himself at Courtney's engagement party and embarrasses the family. Derek sides with Faye, citing that Reuben has acted in appropriately. Reuben is asked to leave the party, at once. Shortly after, Reuben receives an emotional call from Courtney, saying that Derek has suddenly passed away from an accident. At the funeral, Faye confronts Reuben, imploring him to continue honoring Derek's memory, but also to honor himself. Meanwhile, Lillian reads an article about Reuben's stage play, dedicated to Derek's memory. Gareth's only response is to make sure the stage play has no affiliation with the film he now owns the rights to, or else they'd have to sue. Incensed at Gareth's heartlessness, Lillian lashes out at him and vows to reverse the contracts that she had made for Gareth. Concluding that her chance to have children has passed her by, Lillian abandons Gareth and seeks Reuben out at the theater, where he and Derek met. She encourages him to rewrite his story from scratch and amend key elements, so that Gareth cannot claim copyright infringement. Similarly, Faye reinstates her support of Reuben, around the time of her first Christmas since her son's death. One by one, Gareth's collaborators abandon his project and he is left without any supporters at around the time that Reuben develops his new film, The Purpose of Being Me. At the a screening of his film, Reuben thanks the audience for attending, including those who may have originally discouraged him. He thanks them for providing the strength he needed to continue in his pursuits, even if it was only to prove them wrong. As a final thought, Reuben comes to terms with his speech impediment and thanks those who supported his journey; saying "actions speak louder than words." ===== A Viking Princess (Demetriou) is forced to flee her kingdom after being framed for the murder of her father, the King. Coriolanus is assigned the District 12 tribute, Lucy Gray Baird, who sparks the Capitol's attention after singing during the reaping. When Coriolanus visits the tributes and realises they have not been fed since arriving in the Capitol, he begins sneaking Lucy Gray food from the Academy. The other mentors follow suit, but the arrangement ends when one mentor, Arachne Crane, is murdered by her tribute Brandy after Arachne taunts her with a sandwich. Clemensia, Coriolanus's team member, is distraught by the murder, leaving Coriolanus to complete it alone. He presents the essay to Head Gamemaker Volumnia Gaul, proposing a betting scheme and sponsorship of the tributes to engage the people of the Capitol in the Games. During a tour of the dilapidated Arena, undetected bombs from the Dark Days explode, killing several tributes and mentors. The remainder partake in televised interviews to garner favor and donations. The Games begin, and many tributes quickly die from starvation, disease, or injuries sustained during the explosions, while Dr. Gaul enacts Coriolanus' proposals within the Games. Sejanus, resentful of both the Capitol and the Games, enters the Arena at night to die as a martyr, and under the orders of Dr. Gaul, Coriolanus extracts him. After learning that rainbow snake muttations would be released into the Arena, Coriolanus slips a handkerchief used by Lucy Gray into the tank of snakes to familiarize them with her scent. As a result, Lucy Gray is not attacked by the muttations; using them as a weapon, along with the rat poison, Lucy Gray is declared the victor of the Games. At a celebration party at the Academy, Coriolanus is confronted with the handkerchief, makeup compact, and an Academy stamped napkin, implicating him in cheating in the Games and stealing food from the Academy. Facing punishment and public humiliation he chooses to become a Peacekeeper in District 12 assigned on a mission to recover jabberjays, bird muttations that can record human speech, from the wild, so they can be studied in the Capitol. Coriolanus reunites with Lucy Gray during a performance at the local black market. He discovers that Sejanus, now a fellow Peacekeeper, plans to help District 12 residents escape north, which is rumored to be beyond the Capitol's control, by drugging the prison guards and acquiring several guns to survive in the wild. Lucy Gray's former lover Billy Taupe, and the Mayor's daughter, Mayfair, overhear the conversation, and are shot dead by Spruce and Coriolanus to prevent them from blowing their cover. The group returns to the concert while Spruce goes to dispose of the weapons. The bodies are discovered by the Covey after the concert, and The Mayor suspects Lucy Gray. Spruce dies without revealing the events of the murders. Sejanus is arrested by Peacekeepers and hanged, leaving Lucy Gray and Coriolanus as the only remaining witnesses of the murders. He is called to the Commander’s office, where he learns that Dr. Gaul discovered his message about Sejanus’ treason. Lucy Gray tells Coriolanus that she is going to escape North and he decides to leave with her. She performs one last song, “The Hanging Tree,” in which she encodes instructions for Coriolanus to meet her at the hanging gallows for their escape. The next morning, Coriolanus is told that he has passed the officer test and will be leaving the next day for an elite training school in District 2, but is still bent on leaving with Lucy Gray. Upon entering a partially-ruined house to escape from the rain, Coriolanus finds the hidden guns, while Lucy Gray hastily exits to collect some food. He realizes that if he destroyed the weapons, there would be no link between him and the murders, allowing him to rejoin Capitol society as a successful officer. He soon realizes that Lucy Gray must have made the same realization and pursues her into the woods with the rifle. Worried that she might kill him out of fear, Coriolanus discovers her scarf and is attacked by a hiding snake. Angered and believing her to be nearby, he begins shooting randomly into the woods, but is unable to determine if he successfully shot her. After dumping the incriminating weapons in the lake, Coriolanus returns to District 12. His absence went unnoticed by his bunkmates and he is treated for the snake bite in the clinic. Coriolanus boards a hovercraft bound for District 2 with Sejanus’ personal possessions, intending to return them to the Plinth family. Upon arrival, Coriolanus is surprised to find himself back in the Capitol, and is brought to meet with Dr. Gaul. She explains that this summer was to give him experience in the districts and a better understanding of its residents. Coriolanus is completely convinced of the necessity of the Games and the importance of the Capitol. He is also told that he will be given an honorable discharge from the Peacekeepers and is enrolled in the University to continue tutelage under Dr. Gaul. In the epilogue, Dean Highbottom reveals he had developed the idea of the Hunger Games simply as a cruel, but theoretical, event for a school project with Coriolanus's father, Crassus, who would later present the idea to Dr. Gaul, making the Games a reality, causing animosity between Highbottom and Crassus. Meanwhile, Coriolanus implements many of his ideas into future Hunger Games as a Gamemaker, and Lucy Gray is never seen again. ===== Boston Brand (also known as Deadman) is attempting to pull of a trick after his co-workers John, Mary Grayson and their son Dick have done theirs, Brand intentionally outdoes theirs to show off. Then the body of one of its crew washes ashore; it is clear the fisherman had been tortured before being killed. Uhtred, as ruler of Bebbanburg, goes to sea to investigate and then sets a trap for those responsible. He and his warriors kill or capture the crews of three ships, but the fourth vessel gets away. He learns that Waormund, a huge, sadistic warrior who tortured the fisherman, was aboard the ship that got away. Uhtred knows Waormund is one of Ealdorman Æthelhelm's most trusted men. He also finds that one of his prisoners is Æthelwulf, Æthelhelm's younger brother, and that Waormund and his men were sent to try to kill him. Edward, King of Wessex (and son of Alfred the Great), is dying. There are three strong candidates to succeed him: Edward's vicious adult son Ælfweard by his second wife; Æthelstan, Edward's eldest son by his first wife (though many incorrectly believe he is illegitimate); and Edmund, Edward's infant son by Queen Eadgifu of Mercia. Uhtred has raised Æthestan and trained him to be king, so Æthelhelm tried to preemptively remove Æthelstan's most effective supporter. Eadgifu sends a message to Uhtred, begging for his help. Over the objections of his wife and friends, he heads south, accompanied by Finan and a handful of his men. They rescue Eadgifu from Æthelhelm's men and flee. Then Uhtred receives the news that Edward is dead. Edward's will gives Wessex to Ælfweard and Mercia to Æthelstan; Uhtred realises that this will inevitably result in civil war. Uhtred heads to Lundene (London), which is held by Æthelstan's men. He spots Waormund there, but Waormund gets away. Uhtred becomes concerned when he discovers that Merewalh, the commander of the garrison, has taken most of his men and marched east, having been deceived into believing that an enemy army is approaching. Before Uhtred can do anything, Waormund and his men open one of the city's gates, letting in Æthelhelm's army. The city falls. Uhtred's party hides, then steals a ship and flees. By bad luck, Waormund sees him and sets out in pursuit with a large force. Eventually, Uhtred is trapped. He gives himself up so his men (as well as women and children he took responsibility for) have a chance to get away. Waormund humiliates him, but does not kill him immediately, as he wants to do so before a much larger audience, in Lundene. Fortunately, some of Merewalh's cavalrymen show up and free Uhtred. Uhtred persuades Merewalh to give him a portion of his warriors and to agree to his plan to attack Lundene, despite being seriously outnumbered. They have no real choice, as Æthelhelm keeps growing stronger as reinforcements continue arriving. Messengers are sent to fetch Æthelstan's army, which is supposed to be nearby. Uhtred and his men ride boldly into the city, masquerading as some of Æthelhelm's allies. They seize a city gate - Crepelgate - and hold it long enough for Æthelstan to charge through. A sizeable part of Æthelhelm's forces are from East Anglia and have no real stomach for battle; as Uhtred had hoped, the East Anglians stay out of the fighting, as do many others. Æthelstan wins. Æthelhelm is killed trying to flee, and Ælfweard is captured. Æthelstan personally executes Ælfweard. Uhtred is told that the plague has broken out in the north; his wife, his son-in-law and his grandchildren are dead. ===== It is the story of a health inspector- Pattabhiraman(Jayaram), who fights against food adulteration and the challenges he faces because of that. ===== This is a touching tale of friendship among four friends Indra, Abir, Imon and Ujjal. Indra hails from a wealthy family whereas three others are financially weaker. Indra always tries to help them. ===== The story concerns a family of wealthy feudals whose head and heir are orthodox and follow century old feudal mechanism. The serial starts with parallel scenes of the protagonists; Balaj (Zain Baig) and Hooriya (Azekah Daniel). Hooriya is a headstrong young girl living in the metropolitan city of Karachi and pursuing quality education. She likes wearing western clothes and rides a bike and is always ready to do any sort of social work. Balaj on the other hand is a feudal boy of a nearby village, where his taya Malik Shahbaz (Jahanzeb Gorchani) is the head of the district. Balaj's parents died when he was an infant and was raised up by his aunt Surraya (Seemi Pasha), Malik Shahbaz's wife. Being under his taya's supervision, Balaj has apparently turned out to be cruel and ill-mannered. He even gave up his studies as education was not valuable for him being the future head of his tribe. Not known to both Balaj and Hooriya is that they are engaged since childhood, as Hooriya is the daughter of Malik Shahbaz's younger step-brother Malik Wajahat. Wajahat (Sohail Sameer) fell in love with his college-mate Samreen (Humera Bano) and married her against the wishes of his family. His brother Malik Shahbaz has ever since blamed him for this act and does not give him the due recognition and respect which Wajahat deserves being part of the Malik family. In all matters of decision-making, Balaaj is above Wajahat. Succumbing to his family's pressure, Wajahat had got married for the second time to Saeeda (Natasha Ali), a girl chosen by his brothers, even when he was a father of two daughters with Samreen. It is told that Samreen had left the haveli of her in- laws when Malik Shahbaz got engaged her eldest daughter Hooriya to his nephew Balaaj when they were just five-year old kids. Not agreeing to this old tradition of early engagements and fearing that Balaj will be as orthodox as his uncle and her daughter will be just like other women of this family having no say and respect in their lives, Samreen left her husband and took her daughters to live a life of seclusion for their better future. Wajahat didn't bring them back for their own betterment but also was not strong enough to go against his brother's decisions. Unknown to his family, Wajahat secretly keeps vigilance of his wife and daughters and sends them financial assistance through his trusted slave Ghulam Din. Samreen has never told her daughters about Hooriya's engagement or about the whereabouts of their paternal family. Hooriya is in love with her childhood friend Danish (Hamza Firdous) who runs a mobile shop. But Danish's mother does not like Hooriya for her boldness and extroversion. Samreen is also not in favor of Danish as she believes that if his mother does not approve of Hooriya then their marriage will not be successful. One day, after Hooriya gives meal to an old street-seller, he is wounded by Balach's speeding vehicle, engaging him and Hooriya in a verbal brawl. Hooriya makes the wounded man to be put in Balach's car and taken to hospital. In hospital she makes Balach pay all expenses. Balach does this unwillingly and both him and Hooriya curse each other. Hence, from their very first meeting, Balach and Hooriya are at wits end. Surraya, called Bi Jaan wants her daughter Amber (Maryam Noor) to be married to Balach. Bi Jaan loves Balach as her own son and considers him the best match for her daughter. Amber, unlike Balach is continuing her studies and is in love with her class- fellow Faiq (Faraz Farouqi). But she is hesitant to tell about him to her family as Faiq is from middle-class and she knows that her father will never approve his proposal. Malik Shahbaz crowns Balach as the head of the panchayat (ignoring Wajahat) and also commits him to his daughter, thinking that Samreen and her daughters will never come back in their lives, so Balach and Hooriya's engagement doesn't exist anymore. Balach obediently agrees to this betrothment as his uncle's decision is the final order for him. Amber though very close to Balaaj as a cousin, is not happy about this engagement. She tells about Faiq to Bi Jaan, but as expected she rejects it knowing that Malik Shahbaz will never accept a son-in-law from a lesser background. Seeing her husband's longing for his first wife and daughters, Saeeda one day visits Samreen. She asks her to return, to which Samreen refuses and asks her to leave. While leaving Saeeda meets Hooriya and her sister Minhal (Zainab Shabbir). She and Samreen lie to them that Saeeda is an old friend. Saeeda takes their picture for showing it to Wajahat and leaves. When she tells this to Wajahat, his reaction is not what she expects. He scolds her for interfering in his personal life and warns her not to go near his wife and daughters again. Saeeda once again realizes that only Samreen is Wajahat's love and she can never gain his trust. Balaaj and Hooriya meet for the second time, which is as unfavorable as their first one. Balaaj splashes water on nearby walking Hooriya and Minhal. Hooriya as usual loses her temper and starts cursing Balaaj recognizing him from their previous meeting. Balaaj retaliates but they both are stopped from manhandling by Amber and Minhal. Danish convinces his mother to ask Hooriya's hand in marriage and she does that reluctantly and they get engaged. Amber tells Faiq about her engagement and distances herself from him. Faiq is heart-broken to know that though he loves Amber but cannot get her due to their status difference. Faiq's mother is angry to know that Amber betrayed her son's loyalty by choosing her rich cousin over him. Danish and Faiq's mothers are relatives. They visit Samreen's place and on seeing Minhal, Faiq's mother immediately likes her for Faiq. They make Faiq and Minhal meet, and Faiq for overcoming Amber's loss, develops interest in Minhal. Amber on the other hand is still in two minds in marrying Balaj. She asks Balaj to convince her father for delaying their marriage for few months to which he agrees. Amber again approaches Faiq. They both decide to run away. But on the night when Amber is leaving haveli, she is caught by Bi Jaan. After her mother makes her understand the importance of her background and Balaj as her life partner, Amber decides to stay and accepts Balaj as her man. Faiq is waiting for her in his car but when she doesn't turn up, he is again heartbroken on her betrayal. Preparations start for Balaj and Amber's wedding. In city as well, there is a wedding which Hooriya's family is attending. During celebrations there is shooting in air and Samreen gets shot accidentally. Her condition is critical and the sisters don't have enough money for her surgery. Unwillingly, Hooriya calls Ghulam Din for help. On knowing about the accident, Wajahat arrives at the hospital and meets his daughters for the first time in years. Samreen is saved but she goes into comma. Wajahat decides to take his daughters to his haveli as he cannot leave them alone in the city. So, Hooriya and Minhal arrive at their paternal house on the eve of Balaj and Amber's mayun ceremony. Except for Saeeda no one is happy to see them. On seeing Saeeda, they recognize her and after inquiring from a servant they get to know that she is in fact their step-mother. This makes them angry and initially they misbehave in response to Saeeda's motherly affection, accusing her of stealing their father from them and making their parents separate (none of them know that their mother actually left their father to prevent Balaj and Hooriya's marriage). Amber sees Hooriya and Minhal and recognizes them. Balaj and Hooriya also encounter each other and are shocked to learn that they are indeed cousins. Balaj and Hooriya's further meetings are also bloody ones. Once she is dragged by him with her arm for strolling outside the haveli without a dupatta. The next time he doesn't allow her to have dinner before their taya has arrived at the table. Hooriya starts to hate this household within the first few days of her arrival, primarily because of Balaj's presence and secondly due to the rigid regulations maintained by her taya Malik Shahbaz. The main twist occurs in the story when Malik Shahbaz decides to marry Balaj to his childhood fiance' Hooriya as she has now returned to her family. Being a staunch follower of his traditions, Malik Shahbaz doesn't even care about his daughter's happiness, who is about to become Balaj's bride, and gives his final decision to wed Balaj and Hooriya. Balaj on discovering that Hooriya is committed to him since childhood, also agrees to marry her, primarily because he considers Hooriya as his possession being his fiance and secondly because he wants to somehow bring her under his command as she has always been repulsive towards him. Wajahat as before submits to his brother's command and tells his daughters about Malik Shahbaz's decision. Both Hooriya and Minhal are shocked to learn about Hooriya and Balaj's engagement and more shocked to know that their taya has cancelled his own daughter's marriage. Obviously, Hooriya's response is negative. On the other hand Amber is shattered about what her parents are doing to her. She retaliates to her mother that she agreed to leave the man she loved for Balaj and now how can they take Balaj from her. Bi Jaan is also helpless. Even Balaj cannot support Amber as he agreed to marry her only because of his taya's orders otherwise, he never had any feelings for her. Balaj admits to Amber that he hates Hooriya but is doing so only on his taya's orders and for fulfilling his family traditions. Amber is heartbroken. Hooriya and Minhal realize that Saeeda is not pretending to be good to them, in fact she does care for them. She even agrees to help Hooriya out of this turmoil. Saeeda makes a plan for the sisters to escape. As a ritual, Hooriya is taken to a shrine before wedding and from there, Saeeda makes them flee. Hooriya is in constant contact with Danish who is waiting for them in Karachi. As they escape from the shrine, Balaj and his men catch them in the bus they are travelling and forcefully take them to a hut and lock them. There Balaj beats Hooriya for cursing their taya and takes her mobile away as Danish is calling her, but during all this neither Balaj gets to know about Hooriya's engagement with Danish nor that it is Danish to whom Hooriya is in contact with. Finally, Hooriya agrees to marry Balaj as he points a gun at Minhal and their Nikah is officiated under force and threat. Thereon, another chapter starts in Balaj and Hooriya's life. Both are aggressive towards each other. Hooriya has vowed not to accept him as her husband and is rebellious at all fronts. Balaj on the other hand is squeezed between his anger towards Hooriya and his taya's set standards for treating a wife. He initially puts unwanted regulations on her and makes her realize that like every other wife in the haveli she is just equal to his shoes. Yet, Balaj maintains a distance from Hooriya, not allowing himself near her without her permission. Despite of Balaj and Hooriya's soft and rough skirmishes, both become habitual of each other and Hooriya also takes her final exams while living in the haveli. Faiq and Minhal get engaged much to Amber's shock that the man she loved has returned to her life as her cousin's fiance'. Faiq is still confused for his feelings for Amber but is determined to marry Minhal only. Samreen awakens from comma. Hooriya decides to take her to their house and not haveli and asks Wajahat not to tell her about Hooriya's marriage before she has fully recovered. Much to Balaj's disappointment, Hooriya goes to Karachi. During her absence, Balaj develops some feelings for her but is unable to accept them as he recalls his taya's words that a wife is no more than a subordinate. Samreen is worried about her daughters' marriages. She is keen upon marrying Hooriya and Danish at the earliest. This is not helping Hooriya who does not want to break the news of her marriage to her mother at the moment. But Danish's mother tells Samreen about Hooriya's marriage with Balaj. This makes Samreen collapse once again as her twenty-year old struggle went in vain. Wajahat then decides to take Samreen to the haveli as Minhal alone cannot look after her. Bi Jaan convinces Malik Shahbaz and he agrees too. At the haveli, Saeeda attends to Samreen and takes her responsibility. Hooriya tops in her examination. Minhal makes Balaj realize that he should also applaud her like everyone else. So, he brings flower bracelets for her and somehow tells her that he specially bought them for her. Hooriya likes this gesture of his. This is the first time she develops feelings for Balaj but doesn't realize it herself. There is a parallel story of Banu, a servant's daughter. She is in love with Waseem (Ghulam Din's son) but her father has fixed her marriage to an elderly man Qadeer. Qadeer is from a rival political party, therefore, keeping their interest safe Malik Shahbaz and Balaj agree to marry Banu to him. They lock Banu in a stable. When Hooriya comes to know about this, she first frees Banu from her imprisonment and then makes her escape with Waseem to Karachi with Danish's help. By doing this Hooriya feels at peace as she did what she could not do for herself when she was made to lose the man she loved. She also confesses this to Bi Jaan but Bi Jaan does not let Malik Shahbaz know about it. One day Balaj on taya's orders is going towards their rivals. Hooriya forbids him from taking a gun, once again bringing the subject of her forceful marriage to him under the influence of the same gun. When Balaj doesn't listen to her, Hooriya angrily leaves the room saying that she does not earn his respect as a wife as he brought her in his life forcibly. On hearing this Balaj drops the gun and leaves without it. When Hooriya sees it, she feels happy that Balaj for the first time listened to her and feels content about it. On his way, Balaj gets shot in the arm. Hooriya is worried about him being wounded like that. Balach angrily blames her for his condition as she delayed his departure and not let him take his gun. He refuses to take medicine from her, but Hooriya does not give up and Balaj finally surrenders to her privilege as his wife. All night long, Hooriya attends to an unconscious Balaj as a duty-full wife and tiredly falls asleep at his feet. When Balaj wakes up in the morning, he is surprised to find Hooriya near him with first aid. Later-on when Balaj asks her whether she is taking care of him because she has developed a soft corner for him, Hooriya refuses and says that she would have done the same for any other sick person and that she can never fall in love with him as she can never forget that he forced her to marry him, much to Balaj's disappointment. Hooriya then explores her feelings for Balaj. She is not able to accept the fact that she is drawing near to him and has started to care for him (as her forced Nikah is still fresh in her memory). She vows in her heart not to love him ever. Yet again, she is all the time worrying about him and attends to him as his wife. Bi Jaan wants to get Minhal married to Faiq at the earliest as Amber is giving her a tough time and she fears that she might ruin Minhal's engagement. Once their wedding date is fixed, Amber is more than outrageous. She has lost both her men to Hooriya and Minhal and plans to avenge them. In her first revengeful act, she tells her father that Hooriya made Banu escape. This makes Malik Shahbaz go mad and orders Hooriya to be locked up in the same place as Banu. Saeeda informs Balaj and he interferes. He confronts his taya saying that Hooriya is his wife and he cannot let anyone harm her like that as that will be against his manhood. Malik Shahbaz though shocked at this change in Balach, does not say anything more. Hooriya instantly accepts her hidden feelings for Balach, as it was the first time he made her know her importance in his life. She confesses to herself that she has fallen in love with him. Finally, she also admits to Balach that she loves him. Balach at first denies his feelings for her but eventually fails to resist further. Malik Shahbaz is now regretting his decision of marrying Balach to Hooriya as he sees that she has changed him. Amber takes advantage of this moment and makes her father realize that he is being punished for ruining his daughter's happiness. She further tells him that she likes Faiq and wants to marry him and asks her father to compensate her loss of Balach by marrying her with Faiq. A regretful Malik Shahbaz decides to fulfill his daughter's wish. He makes his men kidnap Faiq and asks him to marry Amber instead of Minhal. But on Faiq's refusal he makes a vicious plan. For winning the upcoming elections and for avenging Faiq for his refusal, Malik Shahbaz decides to get Faiq killed for putting the blame on his rival parties for gaining sympathy votes, as the entire village knows that Faiq is his future son-in-law. He discusses this with Balaj who discourages the idea, saying that Faiq is Minhal's fiance' and an innocent man. On seeing Balaj's reluctance, Malik Shahbaz carries out his plan on his own and orders his men to kill Faiq, which Ghulam Din overhears. Thus, one day when Faiq is taking Samreen for her check-up, he is attacked by gunmen. In a struggle, the bullet hits Samreen and she dies. Balaj confronts his taya as he realizes that it was his doing. He tells him that from now on he will never participate in his wrongdoings. After Samreen's death, Bi Jaan and Saeeda decide not to delay Minhal's wedding. Malik Shahbaz cannot stop it as he knows that Balaj will interfere. But Amber is all keen to stop this marriage. During Danish's condolence call to Hooriya, she overhears her and by trick takes his phone number from her mobile. She realizes Danish to be Hooriya's former lover. She makes a plan to separate Faiq and Minhal. Amber calls Danish and convinces him to help her stop their marriage and in return, she will separate Balach and Hooriya so that Danish can have her back in his life. Danish who is still loyal to Hooriya and is not accepting any other woman in his life, agrees to do so. Amber takes Hooriya for shopping and leaves her alone for Danish to interact with her and takes a picture of them. Danish asks Hooriya whether she is happy in her married life, to which she replies in the affirmative and confesses that she loves Balach and drives him away. Danish then calls Balach telling him that his wife loves someone else and is still in contact with him and sends him their picture which Amber took. Balach gets suspicious. On Hooriya's questioning, he asks her whether she loved someone else. Hooriya in a shock doesn't answer at the moment but then tries to explain it to Balach. But he seems to have lost his trust in her and regrets falling in love with her. On Minhal's mayun, Malik Shahbaz decides not to have Faiq present in the ceremony. Faiq is not happy to know this. Amber and Danish have a plan for stopping the wedding. Once his mother leaves for the haveli, Danish tactfully makes Faiq to go and meet Minhal personally. Amber also convinces Minhal to let Faiq inside her room for a moment and no one shall know. Balach is still not talking to Hooriya. Minhal removes his misunderstanding by telling him that Danish was their neighbor since childhood and their mother formally fixed their engagement. She also tells him that now Hooriya only loves him and that he should never leave her or suspect her of not loving him. A relaxed Balach then reconciles with her. Faiq comes to meet Minhal but is caught in her room. Malik Shahbaz is outrageous at the indecency shown by him and as already does not want Minhal to marry Faiq, calls off their wedding. Amber and Danish are happy on their achievement and Amber thinks that she can get Faiq now. But due to Saeeda's insistence for her daughter's happiness, Malik Shahbaz softens and allows the marriage to proceed as planned, much to Amber's disappointment. After the wedding, Amber is leaving the haveli as she has lost everything. Bi Jaan tries to stop her but in the struggle she falls down the stairs when Amber pushes her. Bi Jaan dies and Amber loses her senses for causing her mother's death. On doctors' advice, she is admitted to a mental hospital. Danish now realizing his mistake for trying to ruin Hooriya and Minhal's lives, tells everything to Hooriya for relieving his guilt. Hooriya slashes out at him and warns him of ever coming near her again. Under the weight of his guilt, Danish commits suicide. One day Malik Shahbaz's men see Waseem working in Karachi and inform him. He immediately orders them to kill both Waseem and Banu for going against his orders. Days pass and Hooriya realizes Ghulam Din being absent from his duties. She visits him at his place and he tells her that his son and Banu have been killed on Malik Shahbaz's orders. Hooriya is shattered to know this but the worst comes further as Ghulam Din discloses to her that her taya was behind her mother's murder as well. Hooriya at once confronts her taya and tells him that she will put him behind bars. Hooriya calls Balach and tells him that she is about to do something terrible to which he gives the nod. Malik Shahbaz asks Balach to control his wife otherwise he will do it himself. Balach gets infuriated and declares war against his taya proclaiming that what he did was wrong and now whatever Hooriya will do, he will support her and between his taya and his wife, Balach will stand like a wall. Wajahat overhears all this and squares up his brother for killing his wife. Balach joins Hooriya at the police station, where Hooriya does a press briefing about Malik Shahbaz's wrongdoings and Balach and Ghulam Din get the FIR registered for the murders. Malik Shahbaz is finally arrested. In the last scene, it is shown that Balaj takes Hooriya's hand while going to the family gathering, signifying that she will always be beside him in all matters, breaking the year old traditions of his family, where wives were treated disrespectfully. Hooriya shows her gratitude towards Saeeda for being a mother to her and Minhal and that now she will take Bi Jaan's responsibilities. Balaj puts the tribal pagri on Wajahat's head saying that it belongs to him as he is the next heir and leader of the tribe after Malik Shahbaz and not Balaj. ===== Set in London, the film tells six stories of people seeking companionship in the run-up to Christmas. *Hugh and Susan (David Dixon and Maria O'Brien): Hugh, a young office clerk, spends his Christmas bonus on a night out with Susan, a social escort. Reincarnating 2,000 years later, Anos finds that royal demons now harshly rule over lower class hybrid demons in a society that values Anos's pureblood descendants over the demons who interbred with other species, such as humans and spirits. There have been no signs of the Whisperers, and there are split opinions on what this means. Some, like Michonne and Daryl, fear that they will return, and order others to respect the line that delineates their boundaries from others. Others, like Carol, believe the Whisperers to have disappeared, and thus should not fear crossing the territory, but respect the orders of Michonne and others. The collective communities have started training an army against walkers at Oceanside, however, during one exercise, they find a Whisperer walker mask washed ashore, and fears about the Whisperers spread to the communities. Scouting parties are sent out to check along the territory boundaries to see if there are any signs of walkers, but none are found. Daryl and Carol form another party, and Carol expresses her desire to leave on her own, causing Daryl and her to have an argument. Across the communities, they all witness fireballs fall from the sky into the nearby forest, within the Whisperers boundaries. Over radio, the communities agree that if they do not put out the fire, it will spread and threaten their communities, and fire-fighting teams are sent out. As they put out the fire, they find the fallen object is an old Soviet satellite. After a brief encounter with walkers drawn by the fire, the fire is extinguished, and Michonne orders everyone to leave immediately, but Eugene insists they need to recover the satellite for any technology that might help them. Michonne reluctantly agrees. During the chaos, Carol wanders off, followed by Daryl, and again she talks about her wanderlust. He offers to go with her, but she refuses. As Daryl goes back to the others, Carol looks down into a nearby ravine and sees Alpha step out of the woods, and their eyes meet. ===== Flashbacks throughout the episode show Alpha and her daughter Lydia following the events of "Omega" sometime after the onset of the zombie apocalypse but seven years prior to the show's present. The two have learned how to walk among the walkers by covering themselves up, staying as quiet as possible, and shambling as the walkers do. Lydia, still frightened and carrying a stuffed bunny doll, wears earmuffs to muffle the sounds, but when the walkers stop to devour an injured woman, one bumps into her and knocks them off, causing her to panic. Her mother drags her into a nearby sanitarium for shelter, where they encounter a hooded man. He threatens them but after discovering he and Lydia's mother share similar views on the walkers, allows them to stay the night, and Lydia's mother believes she can win him over. To keep their anonymity, she refers to herself as "A" and him as "B". A talks to Lydia, who has asserted that she has grown up, no longer wanting the stuffed rabbit. The two discover a room with many photos, their faces scratched off, alongside crazed writings, along with a walker in the room. A kills it just as B enters, collapsing by the walker's body in remorse. A recognizes the walker as one close to the hooded man; the hooded man refuses to leave his companion. A gets the idea to take the skin off B's companion and give it to him as a mask to wear, creating the origins of Alpha, Beta, and the Whisperers. In the present, Alpha orders Beta to collect more walkers from a nearby parking garage, having him take two sisters with him. At the garage, Beta successfully lures the walkers to follow, but one of the sisters, Frances, who Alpha had forced to leave her baby behind at the Hilltop outpost in "Bounty", believes she hears a baby crying nearby and panics, causing the walkers to turn on them. Beta rescues Frances and they return to their camp without the walkers. There, Beta is ready to kill Frances, but Alpha takes Frances for a talk, and Frances cries and repents. Beta becomes concerned that Alpha did not punish Frances for showing weakness, and wonders why they have not attacked the other groups. During another walker round-up, the Whisperers see the fire trail of the fallen satellite overhead as it crashes nearby, causing the walkers to scatter. Amidst the chaos, Frances sees one walker with a baby carrier and, remembering Alpha was the one who told her to bring her son to Hilltop, jumps onto Alpha's back and starts screaming, attracting the horde towards them. Frances' sister rushes in, dragging Alpha to safety after pushing Frances away from her and into the mob of walkers, who then kill Frances. As the Whisperers find shelter, Alpha is impressed with Frances' sister's sacrifice and dubs her Gamma. In the morning, Beta follows Alpha to their old camp and discovers she has set up a small shrine to Lydia, including her old bunny doll. Alpha admits Lydia is still alive and has shown weakness in not attacking the communities. Beta assures her that she was made for this world. Alpha destroys the shrine, has sex with Beta and repeats the Whisperers' code, "We are the end of the world" together with Beta. Alpha asserts they will soon attack the communities. The Whisperers go to investigate the fallen satellite, and Alpha, pulling her mask off, eyes Carol from across a ravine. ===== Over a period of 48 hours, several hordes of walkers appear against the Alexandria community from several approaches, exhausting the communities as they deal with them. Lydia tells the others that this is not Alpha's normal strategy: she would drown the community with a massive horde instead of these smaller attacks. During a lull, Gamma approaches the Alexandrians and instructs them to meet Alpha at the line of posts delineating their territory to the north. Michonne, Daryl, and Carol go to meet Alpha, while other groups work to try to stop the advancing hordes from other directions. Aaron is instructed to take Negan, one of the few people left capable of fighting, to stop a horde coming from the south. Aaron, still bitter at the loss of his boyfriend during the battle with the Saviors, detests Negan and forces him to only fight with a wooden stake rather than a crowbar. After Negan and Aaron taunt each other about failing their late loved ones, they are attacked by a walker covered in hogweed, which falls on Aaron, causing him to get a rash on his face and temporarily go blind. With no sign of Negan around, Aaron finds a house and takes shelter there, but the walkers soon arrive. Negan, who had been silently following Aaron, arrives to finish off the walkers and save Aaron to prove his loyalty to Alexandria. At the border, Alpha tells the group that she knows they have crossed into Whisperer territory three times since the line was set, but rather than bloodshed, she asserts they will simply extend their territory to include most of the hunting grounds near Alexandria. When Alpha boasts to Carol about Henry's death, Carol attempts to shoot her but Michonne knocks the gun out of her hand and bargains about Carol's actions, deeming her as a grieving mother, and claiming that Alpha could understand. Alpha allows them to leave without punishment, and tells Michonne's group to run. As they flee, Carol sees Whisperers chasing them along with the walkers. They attack those they can and take shelter in an abandoned school. It is shown Carol has been taking a prescription medication that keeps her awake to avoid dreaming about Henry's death, which has caused her to see hallucinations, including the Whisperers chasing them. While searching again for Whisperers inside the school gym, Carol gets caught in a trap that leaves her hanging upside down while being taunted by a Whisperer, before said Whisperer brings out a small horde of walkers, but Carol manages to kill them all, before the rest of the group arrives. Daryl and Michonne help Carol get back to Alexandria to patch up her injuries caused by the trap, where she considers not taking the medication any further. Back where they attacked the walkers, a Whisperer suddenly wakes up, having been reanimated after getting killed by Carol. ===== At Hilltop, a tree falls across the fence line and onto a barn, trapping people inside while walkers start to invade via the gap. Hilltop's people rally to contain the breach until it can be fixed. Connie, Alden, and Earl suspect that Alpha and the Whisperers had knocked over the tree, and Alexandria is alerted to the situation. Michonne leaves with Judith and a small group to help out. However, as word in Alexandria spreads that the incident was believed to be caused by the Whisperers, Lydia finds herself being tormented and bullied by Gage, Alfred and Margo, accusing her of the other Whisperers' deeds. Lydia runs off to hide, only to be found by Negan who helps to comfort her and suggest she retaliate against the bullies. Daryl catches Negan talking to Lydia, and warns him that he should stay away from her, as he and Michonne are worried that Negan's influence may cause Lydia to act irrationally; they need to protect Lydia as she is believed to be what is holding Alpha back from unleashing a full walker horde against them. Daryl finds "Silence the Whispers" written across his house sometime later. En route to Hilltop, Michonne spots Ezekiel all alone, and has the group continue on while she talks to him. She finds Ezekiel has become suicidal, having lost his Kingdom, Henry, and Carol. Michonne helps to calm him down from the brink of jumping, and he thanks her with a brief kiss, before the two rejoin the others. The group soon arrives at Hilltop and help with pushing back the invading walkers long enough for the fence to be braced. That night at Alexandria, Gage, Alfred and Margo corner and attack Lydia. Negan arrives to try to break up the fight, but inadvertently pulls Margo off too hard and cracking her skull in the process. When Daryl discovers this, Lydia tries to assert Negan was helping her and didn't mean to hurt Margo. Daryl locks Negan in his cell and puts Negan's fate to a vote before the Alexandria council. Gabriel goes to inform Negan of the vote but finds the cell empty; Lydia claims she allowed him to escape, but Daryl had watched her all night and knows this was a lie. Lydia locks herself up, knowing that she does not fit in with their group. Back in Hilltop, as proper repairs on the fence start, there are reports of a Whisperer near Oceanside. Michonne heads there with Judith and Luke, but Eugene declines to go and instead offers to stay to help with repairs. A pan across Alexandria shows more graffiti on its buildings, demanding "Silence the Whispers." ===== Hilltop is still dealing with the break in the fence and the periodic attack by walkers. Kelly, who is suffering from hearing loss, gets separated from her hunting party, which concerns her deaf sister Connie. Daryl offers to help Connie search for her along with Magna, who has been lax at her duties at Hilltop. They eventually find Kelly near a stash of supplies that she and Magna have been taking from Hilltop, as they do not yet fully trust the community. Daryl agrees to cover for them, claiming they happened on the supplies, but Yumiko argues with Magna about this as it is disrespectful to the Hilltop. Magna reveals to Yumiko she killed the man that attacked her cousin, and creating a rift between them. Aaron, while on patrol, spots Gamma leading a walker to their river water so that its blood poisons the waters. Gamma senses someone nearby but does not spot Aaron. Gamma reports back to Alpha, who tells her to be wary. Later, as Gamma leads another walker to blood-let, she cuts her hand, and Aaron, who saw her, passes her a bandage. She takes it and runs off. When Gamma shows this to Alpha, she considers that Aaron may be interested in Gamma, and takes off Gamma's walker mask, suggesting she may need to use another to keep him interested. Negan gets some distance from Alexandria and finds he is being followed by Brandon, the son of a former Savior also living in Alexandria. Brandon expresses his admiration for the way Negan used to be when he ran the Saviors, and remakes Negan's bat, Lucille, and returns his old leather jacket, which Negan is reluctant to take though. The two help rescue a mother and son trapped aboard a bus. Negan becomes irritated with Brandon's constant pestering and tells him to go away, causing Brandon to angrily leave. Negan is drawn to the young boy, as he reminds him of Carl, and promises that he will lead them in the right direction to Hilltop where he and his mother can live safe. When Negan returns from collecting firewood, he finds that Brandon has killed the two, thinking this was a test to become Negan's protege. Enraged by the senseless murder, Negan takes a stone and beats Brandon to death, then recovers Lucille and his jacket and continues on. Negan purposely crosses into Whisperer territory and is caught by Beta. Siddiq discovers that Ezekiel has thyroid cancer, and does not know how long he'll live. Though Ezekiel's grandmother and father fought off the same illness, Ezekiel is convinced that his condition is terminal in the current world which lacks modern medicine. Siddiq contacts Alexandria as he plans to return that night, but arranges for Carol to come talk to Ezekiel. However, just as Carol is about to come on, Ezekiel turns off the radio. ===== At Alexandria, Carol Peletier prepares to go out on her own to find Negan, but Daryl insists on coming with her. Outside, Carol states she has a different plan, and sets up a watchpoint in view of the Whisperers' border, looking to spy on what the Whisperers are doing and hoping to learn how to better them. While they wait, Carol implores Daryl to admit his feelings for Connie, while Daryl tells Carol he does not trust her anymore, fearing she might try to assassinate Alpha and worsen things. After some time, they see a Whisperer moving to bring a herd of walkers to their territory. Carol wants to follow but agrees to Daryl not to kill any walkers. As they pursue, they make too much noise that draws the walkers back to them. While Daryl takes to hiding, Carol uses the opportunity to capture the Whisperer leading them. They return to Alexandria with their captive. Meanwhile, Siddiq and Dante rush to fight off a fast-moving infection within Alexandria that is incapacitating several, unaware the infection was caused by the contamination of the water supply by Gamma. After a long day, Siddiq falls asleep in the infirmary but then wakes up on the windmill's balcony, unsure how he got there. At Hilltop, Eugene is manning the radio, upgraded with components from the fallen satellite, and completing his check-ins with the other communities, including learning about the infection at Alexandria from Rosita. As he is about to leave, a new radio signal comes in with a female voice. He answers it, but both agree for safety to avoid using their names or specifics of where they are each located. Eugene and the woman talk more about their current state, but the woman insists that Eugene should keep these conversations private. Negan is taken by Beta to Alpha, trying to prove his value for knowing everything about the communities' plans. Alpha decides to test Negan to see if he's worthy, which disturbs Beta. Alpha sees this, wondering if Negan is challenging Beta's position, but Beta quickly submits to Alpha, which Negan notices. Beta oversees Negan's tests, which involve digging holes in which to bury walkers after they collect their skins. Negan is unable to outdo Beta's strength and is compelled to capture a live pig to present as food for the other Whisperers to try to prove his worth. Despite this, Beta refuses to give him any food, though another Whisperer shares a bit of jerky with him. Beta catches this and kills the Whisperer as a walker horde arrives, lured by the food; Beta leaves Negan to defend himself. Beta returns to Alpha to tell her about Negan's death when Negan emerges, blood-soaked but alive. He goes straight to Alpha, kneels in front of her, and submits to her, which enrages Beta. ===== Siddiq struggles with ongoing visions of being held captive and Alpha killing people and a voice telling him to open his eyes, but does not know if these are dreams or past visions due to the fatigue from dealing with the infections in Alexandria. He tries to keep himself awake to avoid these. Carol secures their Whisperer in the prison and Gabriel, fearing that Alpha would retaliate, insists that the prisoner receive medical treatment. Lydia, from a distance, identifies him as one of Alpha's lieutenants who has been trained to avoid harsh interrogation, and instead suggests to Carol to show him the value of life within Alexandria to turn him, as it would be an idea that would spread to the other Whisperers. Carol offers the man sandwiches but he spits them back at her. Carol and Daryl revert to a more harsh interrogation, but Carol pauses after hearing him praise Alpha for sacrificing Lydia. Carol realizes that the Whisperers, outside of Alpha, do not know about Lydia's safety, and considers using her as pawn. Meanwhile, Aaron continues to meet with Gamma at their boundary, hoping to bond with her and learning that Gamma is wary of children. Gamma returns to Alpha, telling her she failed to get Aaron to talk, and leading Alpha to hit her with a switch. Carol goes to get Lydia to see the prisoner, but the man is found dead. Dante discovers that the medical kit being used to treat the prisoner's wounds was accidentally filled with hemlock, which Siddiq was responsible for doing. Siddiq is taken aback by this, knowing his fatigue caused it. After seeing Dante burying one of the older woman he had grown close to, Siddiq attempts to commit suicide by drowning himself, but is rescued by Rosita. She tells him not to be upset with himself and they are all here to help. As they talk, Siddiq realizes something and rushes to test the water supply, discovering it to be contaminated and the cause of the infection, which he blames himself for not seeing. Despite Daryl's strong opposition, Carol takes Lydia to see Alpha and comes across one of Aaron and Gamma's meetings, where Gamma has taken Aaron at knifepoint to demand more intel. Carol and Lydia rush forward. Upon seeing Lydia, Gamma panics and runs away, as does Lydia. Carol and Aaron are forced to back off as walkers approach. Gamma begins to cry, realizing that everything she had done for Alpha may have been for nothing. At Alexandria, after decontaminating the water supply, Dante tries to cheer up a depressed Siddiq that what happened wasn't his fault. Dante then makes a strange verbal tic which causes Siddiq to have another lucid dream. His experience reveals to him that Dante is a Whisperer agent who was responsible for helping Alpha sneak into the Kingdom and capture their victims to decapitate. Dante senses Siddiq has become aware of this and chokes him to death apologizing it had to end this way. ===== In a flashback several months after the blizzard, Alpha chooses and assigns Dante, due to his loyalty and because Lydia doesn't know him, to infiltrate Alexandria as her spy and sabotage the community from the inside for the impending war between them. It is revealed that Dante is the one who painted the "Silence the Whispers" graffiti, sabotaged the water supply, and suffocated Cheryl to death. In the present, Rosita goes to visit Siddiq, but finds Dante who attacks her. Rosita is able to stab Dante in the chest with a knife and is forced to put down a reanimated Siddiq. At the border, Gamma reveals information to Aaron about the current position of the horde in exchange for seeing her nephew. She also reveals her real name is Mary. Back in Alexandria, the residents hold an Islamic funeral for Siddiq, led by Gabriel who delivers a eulogy. Rosita is distraught over Siddiq's death and releases her anger by killing walkers on the outskirts of the community; she is helped by Eugene. Gabriel visits an imprisoned Dante and ends up brutally stabbing him to death. Meanwhile, Michonne, Judith, and Luke travel to Oceanside. When they arrive, a man named Virgil appears and Michonne becomes suspicious of what he wants. He explains he was just looking for supplies and wants to get back to his family. They live on a fortified naval base, but it is hard to find. Michonne agrees to help Virgil find his family in exchange for weapons from the base to destroy Alpha's horde. She leaves Judith a walkie-talkie for them to communicate and they say their goodbyes. Michonne and Virgil then sail away on a boat towards the island. Sometime later, Daryl, Carol and Aaron meet with Jerry, Magna, Connie, and Kelly to locate the horde, but find the location is empty and instead decide to go look for Lydia. In the forest, Carol spots Alpha and chases her. The whole group follows her which leads them directly into a cave, where they are trapped and surrounded by Alpha's gargantuan horde of walkers. ===== The series revolves around two fictional families, The Rai's and The Zaveri's. However his wife, Sharon, is angered at him for undertaking these endeavors without considering their cost or consulting her, despite the fact that they purchased the farm together to avoid the type of business it has now become. She is also upset that the Chinese government purchases their product to use it to frame Chinese protesters in order to justify their arrests. Meanwhile, fourth grader Eric Cartman, who is terrified of needles, refuses the vaccine required by his school, squealing like a pig and evading restraint whenever a shot is imminent. Threatened with expulsion from South Park Elementary, he attempts to avoid vaccinations by lobbying to be designated a conscientious objector, citing fears that vaccines might make him "artistic". He has his mother, Liane, repeat this notion at a town meeting, but she then abandons this ruse to confess with exasperation that she simply cannot restrain him for the shot. Fearing that this may threaten the herd immunity that protects their children, the other parents in town conspire with her to ambush Cartman with a shot as he sleeps, and when this fails, they hire an expert pig wrestler, Big Mesquite Murph, who captures Cartman and places him in a pen. However, Cartman proves too fast for Big Mesquite Murph to restrain, so a rodeo is organized, which will pit the non-immunized children of South Park against those attempting to administer the required shots. When Liane goes to Tegridy Farms to buy marijuana, she and Randy end up commiserating over the conflicts they are each having with their loved ones. When she tells him he should feel lucky at having a partner in life, he realizes he has not been kind to that partner, who is owed an apology. He apologizes not to Sharon, but to his business partner, Towelie, admitting that he became greedy, and promises to end his business deal with the Chinese. Logan asks Kendall to have Naomi leave the yacht, surmising that she is enabling his drug abuse; before departing, Naomi tells Kendall that Logan only favors him in his broken state. At breakfast the next day, Logan nonchalantly offers to take the fall for the cruises misconduct, but the others immediately begin debating other options as they gather to the table. Shiv and Logan have a private conversation where she implores him not to sacrifice Tom. Logan finally approaches Kendall and persuades him to bear the public responsibility for the crimes. A despondent Kendall suggests that he deserves the punishment for the death of Andrew Dodds, though Logan dismisses that incident as a "No Real Person Involved" case. Kendall asks Logan if he ever saw him fit to run the company, but Logan tells his son that he doesn't see him as a "killer." Logan announces his choice at dinner, which shocks the other family members. The following morning, Kendall and Greg are flown back to New York to give a press conference, which Logan and Shiv watch on television from the yacht. Kendall begins by saying he has been chosen to accept blame for the company's handling of the cruises incidents, but suddenly deviates from his prepared remarks by blaming Logan, calling his father a "malignant presence, a bully and a liar" and stating that he was personally responsible for approving the legal settlements covering up the misconduct. The narrator considers whether this might have any effects on perception or motion. Images follow. A sneaker on pavement, trees, a brick wall — all appear to be the same. The pull of the metre across the screen doubles, and its twin pushes the other way to the same beat. The narrator decides that there can be no measurable effect of this nocturnal doubling, since no meaningful measurements could be taken if everything everywhere had expanded proportionately and at the same time. Any and all information would be undetectable — even by God, since God, too, must be twice as great as before. Despite this, somehow, the narrator knows it has happened: "My knowledge was correct, and... I knew nothing. The change had definitely occurred, and it made not one bit of difference. I decided to keep it to myself." thumb|300px| ===== Detained by cops in a fictional Middle East country named Noman, Sameer Choudhary (Vidyut Jammwal) agrees to reveal everything that led to his arrest, to I.K. At South Park Elementary school, fourth grader Eric Cartman is irritated that familiar lunch food like ground beef has been replaced with fish in response to complaints from students like Wendy Testaburger and Nichole, who tell Cartman that some students who do not eat red meat want healthier options. Enraged at the elimination of the food he likes, Cartman angrily rants before succumbing to a heart attack. The school counselor, Mr. Mackey, assures Cartman that the school menu will not change. Cartman subsequently delights in being able to eat barbecue ribs for lunch again, but Wendy and Nichole's continued protests prompt another heart attack for him. Randy starts selling Tegridy Burgers, first at a stand outside the Burger King, and then at a restaurant across from it. This angers the Burger King's employee, Rick. Randy campaigns for the adoption of vegan diets at a town meeting, arguing that it is better for the environment and animals. As a result of his efforts, beef loses popularity, but this prompts an angry cattle rancher to appear at Randy's home with his cows, complaining that they are now useless. The rancher leaves the animals there, where they eat Randy's marijuana and pollute his farm with their waste. To remedy this, Randy and Towelie decide to shoot the cows all to death, an endeavor Randy says they can do if they get really high. At a school assembly, PC Principal announces that as a compromise, Incredible Meat will be the supplier of the school's meals. That company's founder, who calls himself a Goo Man, says his green goo can be made to resemble any food requested, and that he wants to be the plant-based food supplier for the entire town. When Cartman returns to school from his hospital stay, he learns that on Taco Tuesday, the school cafeteria is serving Incredible Beef tacos. Not knowing it is plant-based, he eats the new tacos without incident. He learns the truth, however, from the Goo Man, who is now conspiring with Rick and the rancher. The Goo Man describes the complex industrial infrastructure responsible for the goo used to make Cartman's school lunches, but says that it does not work unless he owns all the eateries in town selling plant-based meat. When the Goo Man sees that Randy's new Tegridy Burgers restaurant is popular, it makes Randy a target for the Goo Man, who does not want competitors to his business. During a news broadcast focusing on Randy's business, Rick poses as a student protester criticizing the unethical practices of Tegridy Farms. The newscast then shows footage of Randy and Towelie's cow-killing rampage, causing the townsfolk to turn against Tegridy Farms. At school, Cartman reveals that he knows the truth about the plant-based meat in the school cafeteria, but that far from being angry, it is he who owes everyone else an apology. While he previously thought they were trying to force him to eat healthy, he has learned that the goo is made in a factory, with much added salt, just like all the other "processed crap that comes in a box" that he eats. Having only desired to "eat the same garbage" he always has, and since the goo is definitely garbage, he does not care that it is more sustainable or ethical. ===== The story begins with the point of divergence in December 1860 by General David E. A posse pursues him, but Dracula is able to bite Barbara and drain her blood before he is cornered and staked inside his tomb. Unwilling to defile Barbara's corpse, the citizens bury her in a coffin sealed with a cross to prevent her from rising as a vampire herself. A hundred years later, two construction workers accidentally unearth Barbara's coffin, and one of them steals the cross to trade it for a drink of beer before they report their find to the police. In the meantime, however, the coffin is stolen and sold to an unscrupulous antique dealer. Barbara emerges the following night and kills the dealer; but after having consumed his blood, she turns into a beautiful adult woman. Barbara eventually finds employment with Theo Marmorstein, an undertaker, where she secretly drains the corpses of their blood for later consumption. However, during a carnival party, her supply of blood runs out (mostly thanks to Marmorstein's bumbling assistants), and in her thirst she attacks and drains Irene Ruhesanft, Marmorstein's love interest. When Marmorstein catches her in the act, she moves to attack him as well; Marmorstein accidentally knocks over a bunch of chemicals which set the building ablaze, forcing Barbara to flee and sustain herself on blood banks and the occasional human victim. The vampire murders are investigated by Austrian police Inspector Harris and his assistant Eddi. They encounter Barbara while she is still working for Marmorstein, and while Harris falls in love with her, Eddi gradually begins to suspect that the murderer is a vampire, which Harris dismisses. After the undertaker's firm has burned down, Harris is delighted to find Barbara still alive, but as they spend one evening together, she attacks and tries to drain him. The imminent sunrise forces her to retreat to her coffin stored inside a secret room within her apartment; when Harris uncautiously follows her and bends over the coffin, she pulls him inside and the lid falls shut. When Eddi, after having deduced that Barbara is the vampire, arrives right afterwards and comes upon the shaking coffin, he ends the film by nervously asking the audience: "I wonder if I should disturb them now?" ===== Rogaciano (Cantinflas) is the modest worker of a Mexican film studio, who performs several roles as an extra in the films shot there. Peter grew up in Beartown and was a junior hockey star. He went to North America to play in the NHL, but injuries stopped his career short. He married Kira, a lawyer from a big city, and their first- born son, Isak, died when he was just a baby. They decided to return to Beartown, with their other children, Maya and Leo, when Peter was offered the job with the ice hockey club. Kira continued to work as a lawyer in a nearby city. Maya and her best friend, Ana, have different interests, but are devoted to each other. Because Ana lives with her father and her mother has left, Ana spends a lot of time with the Andersson family. Amat is a 15-year-old who immigrated to Sweden when he was a little boy, with his mother, Fatima. Fatima struggles on the edge of poverty and works as custodian at the arena run by the Beartown ice hockey club. She supports Amat's devotion to ice hockey, and he displays remarkable ice skating speed. He often goes to the rink with Fatima before it opens and works on his skating ability. This catches the attention of Sune, the veteran coach of the A-team, which is the highest level team operated by the Beartown club. Kevin Erdahl is the star of the Beartown junior team, which consists of players who are 17 years old. Kevin's talent is so outstanding that the entire junior team has been built around him since he was about seven years old. David is the current coach of the junior team, who has moved up to coach the players in each successive age group as Kevin and his cohort have come through. David, Sune, Peter, the president and directors and sponsors of the ice hockey club, all expect Kevin's team to succeed. The novel opens with the team and the community preparing for a key semi-final game. Recognizing that lack of speed is a weakness, Sune and David agree to add Amat to the team as an underage junior to improve their chances. Beartown wins the semi-final, at least partly because the opposing team was not prepared to defend Amat's speed. On the night of the semi-final victory, Kevin's parents are out of town. This gives Kevin the opportunity to host a big party for his team and many other young persons from the community. At the party, many of the teenagers are drunk or high and the team members boast about having sex with the supportive female fans. Maya and Ana attend the party, but argue about how to enjoy themselves. Maya and Kevin sneak off to an upstairs bedroom to make out. Maya resists Kevin's advances, and he rapes her. Amat, himself drunk and harboring feelings for Maya, stumbles in to witness the rape. Maya takes advantage of Amat's intrusion to free herself from Kevin. Maya had been attracted to Kevin and is devastated by his attack. She struggles for a week, then finally tells her parents what happened. Kira is enraged. Because Peter is general manager of the hockey club, he appreciates that reporting the crime will remove Kevin from the team and destroy the team's chances in the subsequent game, the final, which is to be held that day. Nevertheless, the family does report the rape and Kevin is taken from the team bus just before it departs for the road trip to the game. The team is not told right away what has happened. They play the final without Kevin and, even though they have a 3-2 lead after two periods, they lose. The police decide not to prosecute Kevin for the rape because the available evidence is inconclusive, despite Amat's testimony as a witness. Maya continues to suffer distress and decides she must either kill herself or kill Kevin. Because Ana's father is a hunter and Ana has learned about guns from him, Maya asks Ana to teach her how to fire a shotgun. Without telling Ana what she plans, Maya takes a shotgun from Ana's father's gun cabinet and confronts Kevin. Kevin, also torn by the realization of what he has done, complies when Maya orders him to kneel in front of her. Maya then pulls the trigger. But she has not loaded a cartridge into the weapon. Maya reasons that the fear Kevin feels at the moment she pulls the trigger will continue to haunt him for the rest of his life, just as the rape will haunt her. In the end, the events of the subsequent ten years are sketched out. Kevin eventually finds happiness with a woman. Maya becomes a popular guitarist and plays a concert in the city where Kevin and his wife live. ===== Amber Appleton is a high school student living in Portland, Oregon with her mother Becky. Angel has an ambiguous attitude towards the patients he is called on to help and sometimes steals from them, selling the more valuable items to a local fence. At home, he is possessive and controlling towards Vane. The couple are trying for a baby, without success. Angel takes a fertility test and discovers that he has a low sperm count, but he does not confide this information to Vane. One day, while taking an injured patient to hospital, the ambulance (driven by his colleague Ricardo) meets with an accident; as a result Angel is left paralysed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair. He blames Ricardo for the accident and is unable to forgive him. Angel’s disability puts a strain on his relationship with Vane, and he begins to suspect her of cheating on him with Roberto, who is a classmate on a course she is taking. Vane works at a call centre at night, and Angel installs spyware on her phone in order to keep tabs on her. Irritated by the nocturnal barking of his elderly neighbour’s dog, Angel spikes a steak with needles, and feeds it to the dog at a local park, while the dog’s owner is distracted with his newspaper. Via the spyware he installed on Vane’s phone, Angel overhears a conversation between Vane and a girlfriend of hers, who suggests that Angel is abusive, and that Vane should leave him. When Vane returns home that day, Angel has cooked her favourite meal and is contrite about the way he has treated her. They try to have sex but do not succeed because Angel is unable to feel anything. While he is showering Vane hears a strange message tone whenever her own phone receives a text. She follows the sound to Angel’s laptop and realises that he has been spying on her. Disgusted, she packs a suitcase and leaves the apartment. Several months pass, but Angel is still obsessed with Vane. He stalks her, and eventually sees her kissing Ricardo, with whom Vane has begun a relationship. Later, Angel observes Ricardo and Vane shopping for baby things and realises that she is pregnant with Ricardo’s baby. A few days later Angel intercepts Vane in the street; he tells her that he has boxed up her remaining possessions, including her passport, and asks if she would like to come back with him to the apartment to pick them up. However, on their arrival at the apartment Angel injects Vane, rendering her unconscious. When she awakes, she finds herself gagged and tied to a bed. Angel uses Vane’s phone to send Ricardo a message, telling him that she does not want to have their baby, and asking him not to contact her; Angel then throws the phone in the river. Later Ricardo approaches Angel to say that he had received the message but he, Ricardo, did not believe Vane had sent it, and that he was worried because he could not find her. Back at his apartment, Angel injects Vane with an epidural so that she temporarily loses the use of her legs. He presents her with an engagement ring (actually stolen from one of his former patients) and talks of their future together, bringing up their (Vane’s) baby. Vane makes an escape attempt, smashing a glass in Angel’s face, but he manages to overcome her, and once again renders her unconscious with an injection. However his elderly neighbour (whose dog Angel had previously killed with the spiked steak) hears Vane scream and comes to investigate. When the old man threatens to call the police Angel invites him into the house and stabs him to death. He then calls his friend (the fence) to help him dispose of the old man's body, for cash. At some point Angel also goes over to Ricardo's house and kills him. A few days later, police arrive at Angel’s apartment and advise him that they are investigating Ricardo's death, and also the disappearance of Vane, about whom Ricardo had filed a missing person’s report before he died. Angel manages to satisfy the police that he knows nothing about either incident. However, Vane manages to escape while Angel is out of the apartment, by picking the lock on the door. Although with only partial use of her legs, she succeeds in dragging herself down the main staircase of the building, but when the lift stops on the landing, Angel exits. They struggle together, but Vane stabs him with a screwdriver she is carrying and he falls several flights down the stairwell. In the final scene, Angel is in hospital, now completely paralysed, unable to talk and breathing through a tube in his throat. Vane appears, visibly pregnant and fully recovered. She tells the helpless Angel that from now on she will be taking care of him. His fate is left unknown as Vane wheels him out of the hospital with a sinister smile on her face. ===== Australian former safecracker Red is released from prison after two years, Red reconnects with his wife Chloe (Nina Dobrev), their daughter "Bea" Beatrice (who now only speaks in her mother's native French after learning it from her Mexican nanny Lolita) and his former colleague Le Roi, who has been holding $500,000 in untraceable bearer bonds for him from their last heist in his pawn shop's hidden basement; Red's parole officer DPO Ernesto Sanchez (Clifton Collins Jr.) remains suspicious of him and Le Roi. In Le Roi's basement, Red attempts to crack his safe, an identical one to the one from the bank he had robbed but finds he is no longer able to do so due to a lack of practice. Meanwhile, psychopathic contract killer Luc, recently taken off of the no-fly list, enters the country searching for Red, leaving the airport by killing a man and taking his car. While acquiring weaponry from an associate of his, Jean-Jacques, at his bar, having sex with Jean-Jacques girlfriend as "payment" for the weaponry, Jean-Jacques explains to his friends that Luc is in charge of "retirement" for "the Commission" and that they should be as terrified of him as he himself is, begging his cockiest friend not to insult Luc or try to kill him. After Luc returns without Jean- Jacques girlfriend and the cockiest friend inquires about her, Luc claims off- hand to have killed her after the act to prevent there being any small talk, which Jean-Jacques accepts, only for Jean-Jacques friend to insult him. Luc then shoots Jean-Jacques friend and asks the other whether he was aware that Jean-Jacques has been embezzling from the Commission. After the friend responds that Jean-Jacques has, Jean-Jacques goes for his shotgun to shoot Luc only for Luc to shoot him, inadvertently setting off Jean-Jacques gun and killing the other friend. As he makes his way through town, Luc shoots the owner of a lowrider and joyrides it around town, before killing two police officers after they attempt to stop him. At the art gallery at which she is preparing to have an exhibition of her paintings that night, Chloe's boss Derrek Blarney attempts to proposition her, only for her to reveal that Red has been released from prison. Outraged at the rejection, Derrek threatens to take back the loan Chloe has been living off of since Red's incarceration if she does not sell any paintings that night. That night, Red and Le Roi attend Chloe's exhibition; Le Roi restrains Red from insulting the critics who are insulting his wife's character. Red questions Chloe about Ernesto Sanchez' presence at the exhibition, revealing that he is an avid art collector and is genuinely interested in the art. Elsewhere, Luc arrives at Red's house looking for him, killing Lolita as Bea flees, before discovering the location of the exhibition from a card left on Chloe's table. As Derrek attempts to again seduce Chloe, Bea arrives looking for her; Red spots Luc arriving and shouts a warning to her, allowing Chloe and Bea to flee as Luc shoots in Red's direction, mortally wounding Le Roi, who gives Red the key to his safe. Ernesto Sanchez then shoots at Luc, who in response ends up killing almost all of the critics present at the exhibition, before leaving to pursue Red. After Luc climbs atop Red's car in an attempt to kill him, Red shoots Luc's gun at the ceiling of the car, knocking him off of it. After Chloe questions him on Luc's presence, Red reveals Luc is the brother of his partner in the bank heist who was shot by police, and that he would likely be looking for the bearer bonds Red had pretended were destroyed, which in fact he had had Le Roi smuggle out of the bank via tunnels leading to his basement. They decide to proceed to Le Roi's basement to retrieve the money. As Red enters the basement, Luc catches up with the car on-foot, holding Chloe hostage as Bea runs inside towards her father. After Red offers Luc the bonds and himself in exchange for his family's lives, Luc reveals that he was unaware of the bonds' existence and merely blames Red for living in his brother's place, considering them a nice surprise for after he kills him and his family. Red moves in front of her as Luc fires, unintentionally knocking her into the safe. Luc overlooks the short-breathed Red and locks the safe, informing him that he will hear her suffocating before he dies from the gunshot. Luc then pursues Chloe as she flees into the tunnels connected to Le Roi's basement; Chloe manages to impale him in the back with a rake, before fleeing back to the basement and up into Le Roi's shop. Meanwhile, Red is revealed to have been alive, Luc's bullet having been blocked by Le Roi's key to the safe (which he had left in his breast pocket), which has been rendered unusable. As Red tells Bea through the sage to conserve her breaths, Luc returns and holds him at gunpoint. As he prepares to shoot him, Ernesto Sanchez arrives, having been retrieved by Chloe, and orders Luc to drop his weapon. After Luc instead tries to kill him, Ernesto Sanchez shoots him several times. Recognizing himself to be beaten, Luc sets off a pair of charged explosives that disintegrate himself and the bearer bonds. As Red tries to open the safe, Ernesto Sanchez tries to arrest him for breaking his parole, only to allow him to try to crack the safe upon learning Bea is inside. Although nervous, Red manages to free Bea, and the family hug. Looking at the happy family, Ernesto Sanchez decides not to arrest Red, and remarks at his dissatisfaction at how the evening has unfolded, and that he likely will receive commendation for having stopped Luc. Fay listens to Everett's show, which is interrupted by a mysterious audio signal. Fielding calls about a strange wind-like phenomenon from the sky, she hears the same signal over the phone line; her connections drop when she calls friends about the signal. Fay calls Everett, who asks his listeners for information about the signal, which he broadcasts on the air. A man named Billy calls, and Everett broadcasts him live. Billy explains that he served in the military, and was flown to a highly secretive location in the desert. Warned that telling anyone about the classified project would "endanger America", he and the other personnel built a large underground bunker to house an enormous unknown object. Flying away from the facility, he heard the same unexplained signal on the plane's radio. Billy developed a lung condition that he believes was caused by his time in the desert, and learned of other instances of the military burying similar cargo in secret locations, where the same signal was heard. He explains that the sound appears to be a communication signal, sometimes transmitted higher than any man-made object could fly. The call is briefly disconnected, but Billy calls back and reveals that he and the other personnel chosen for these projects were all African American or Mexican, to ensure they were less likely to be believed by the public. A friend of his managed to record the signal, and sent copies to Billy and others who worked on the projects; one tape was given to an Air Force general in Cayuga, now deceased. Fay realizes that his tapes were given to the local library, and steals them. Billy is disconnected, and Everett and Fay find the recording of the signal and broadcast it, but the radio station’s power is knocked out. They race to the switchboard office, where Fay receives numerous reports of "something in the sky", and they meet Gerald and Bertsie, who have been driving in pursuit of the same unidentified flying object. An elderly woman named Mabel calls and offers to provide more information about the signal. Everett and Fay go to Mabel's home, where they find her reciting a message in an unknown language. With Everett recording their conversation, Mabel claims that the phenomena seen across town are spaceships, piloted by aliens who use their message to hypnotize and abduct humans. She believes the aliens will target isolated people while most of the town is at the basketball game, and suspects the aliens are responsible for sowing conflict in humanity, from alcoholism to war. Mabel asks to be taken to the alien ship to reunite with her son, who was abducted years ago. Unconvinced, Everett leaves with Fay, who collects her baby sister Maddie, and they are picked up by Gerald and Bertsie. Everett plays his recording of Mabel speaking the alien message, which sends Gerald and Bertsie into a trance; they nearly crash the car, and Everett and Fay flee with Maddie into the woods. Everett and Fay realize that the aliens are real, and have already arrived above the town. They watch as a spaceship rejoins the much larger mothership, and the wind begins swirling around them. As the crowd leaves the basketball game, Everett, Fay, and Maddie are gone; only their footprints and the tape recorder remain. ===== ===== Nandini (Sree Leela), a high school student, damages the car of Arjun (Viraat), a rich, carefree guy. Salvador immediately clashes with his superior and Head of Training at IMSS, Dr. Miguel Villanueva (Miguel Ángel Álvarez), while growing closer to Nurse Laura (Marta Romero) who, unbeknownst to him at first, is Dr. Villanueva's sister. In his medical activity at the hospital, Salvador serves various patients by raising their self-esteem, as in the case of an old lady patient (Prudencia Grifell) who feels very lonely and abandoned from her only relative, a grandson; as well as a patient who is almost completely bandaged (Ramón Valdés), and another one who cannot even feed himself (Guillermo Bravo Sosa). Salvador meets Beto (Pepito Velázquez), an eight-year-old patient who has a brain tumor, which has grown enough to disturb his visibility. Salvador is moved by Beto's case and provides special attention, even though the case is under the responsibility of another doctor friend of Salvador, Dr. Montero (Tony Carbajal) who is a pediatrician. Beto's parents are separated, and their personal differences affect Beto's mood. Beto's father (Wolf Ruvinski) in particular is opposed to having his son operated, on the grounds that he does not want medical experiments to be done with the child's health, even when surgery is the only way to save him. However, when Beto's situation becomes critical (as demonstrated when he completely loses his sight), Salvador decides to perform surgery against the wishes of Beto's father, risking his medical career. Ultimately, Salvador is successful and Beto is on the way to recovery and, in addition, a new hospital is inaugurated in Salvador's hometown, which will remain under his direction. Beto's parents reconcile and apologize to Salvador, who in turn receives the acceptance of Dr. Villanueva and his sister Laura, who officially becomes Salvador's girlfriend. ===== The story starts with Sameera (Sana Javed) a young doctor who has grown up in a loving family. She has an especially close bond with her father. Sameera has on ongoing love story with Salman (Mikaal Zulfiqar) and her older brother Hamza is engaged to Salmans younger sister Warda. Salman's mother detests Sameerahs family, with her daughter already engaged to Hamza, she doesn't wish for Salman to also be connected to that family & so she tries to push her son away from Sameera. She introduces Salman to Pinky, the girl she believes is the girl for him. Sameera's ego is hurt by Salman's mother's harsh taunts towards her family & decides to end their relationship. An angry Salman forces his mother to apologise to Sameera and accept her as a daughter in law. Eventually, his mother gives in and soon after Warda's marriage to Hamza, Sameera completes her Nikkah to Salman. Not long after the wedding, Sameera goes for a meal with Hamza, her father & Warda. While leaving the restaurant Hamza goes back as he realises he has left his wallet. A few boys nearby in a car are discussing their anger at being rejected from girls & decide to teach the next girl they see a lesson. They watch as Sameera is waiting outside with her father and Warda. They drive up to them, jump out the car, one of them waving a gun while another grabs Warda. A struggle between both parties ensues as both Sameera and Warda are being grabbed by 2 boys and the father is in the middle holding on to both of them. Sameera's father loosens his grip on Sameera & shields Warda with his body. Sameera is dragged into the car. She kicks the door open as it's about to close and holds her hand out for her father to grab but he simply stares at her with tears in his eyes holding Warda. Sameera stares in disbelief before the door shuts and the car drives off. Hamza returns but is to late to save Sameera. Sameera's mother questions the 3 of them about Sameera's whereabouts when they return home. Warda informs the mother that Sameera was kidnapped. Sameera's mother begins to shout and cry, she tells her husband and Hamza to report it to the police and find Sameera as soon as possible. Hamza and his father arrive at the police station to file a missing complaint but Sameera father freaks out and refuses to file a complaint. Once they arrive home Hamza informs his mother that their father refused to file a complaint. An argument breaks out between both parents as the father reveals he feels ashamed filing a complaint, he doesn't want his daughter's face all over the media and the whole world to know whats happened to her. He says to the mother we should just leave our faith in God and wait for the night to end, Sameera's mother is disgusted by her husband's words. Salmans parents arrive to comfort Sameerahs family. Salman's mother tells Warda privately that she thinks its best if Sameerah dies as Sameera has lost all her respect. Warda is shocked at the harshness of her mother's words & scolds her for being so insensitive. Salman returns from his job as a pilot and is informed by a crying Warda that Sameera is missing, he walks off to his room in anger. The next morning we see Sameera waking up in a field with her clothes ripped as strangers surround her. A woman stood nearby recognises Sameera, she quickly covers Sameera's body with a scarf and brings her home. Sameera younger sister Rohina is stood in the living room with Hamza and her mother when the woman enters with a half conscious Sameera. The next few days are difficult for Sameera as she struggles to recover from the trauma she has faced. Salman's parents & Warda come to visit Sameera but Salman refuses to see her. Both families gather in Sameerahs room. Warda asks Sameera how are you feeling prompting Sameera to lash out and reveal that her father chose to protect Warda instead of her. She accuses her father of presenting her to the rapists, she tells Hamza the rapists didn't take me, my father handed me to them. Sameera's father begins to cry and defend his actions, he claims he had no choice but to save Warda as she is his daughter in law and his best friends daughter. He asks Sameera can't you forgive your father to which Sameera replies fathers are not like this, the Sameera you knew is dead. The scene ends with the father walking out the room in tears. After a few days Salman finally visits Sameera. He makes it clear he doesn't want to know details on what happened to her and wishes to move forward from this incident. With her entire family against her, including Salman, Sameera is forced to stay silent and not file a police complaint. Her boss doctor Feroz is disappointed by this decision, and reminds her she is a survivor, not a victim. Eventually, Sameera & Warda move out their maternal homes and into their in-law homes. Sameera struggles with intimacy & suffers from nightmares. Salman feels irritated by this as its a reminder of Sameera's rape, something which he wishes to pretend never happened. Salman forces Sameera to leave her job. Doctor Feroz refuses to accept her resignation shocked at how timid & quiet she has become. Salman disdain towards Sameera doesn't end there, he starts to insult and belittle Sameera & resorts to physical violence when she argues back. Salmans parents are aware of this but do little to defend Sameera. On one particular day after experiencing a brutal beating from Salman, Sameera is unable to leave her bed. Sameera's mother & Rohina come to visit her and are shocked to find her in such a bad state and rush her to the hospital. Doctor Feroz treats Sameera and informs her mother she must stay in hospital for a few days. When Doctor Feroz leaves Sameerahs mother decides Sameera will not stay in hospital. Sameera's mother drops her back off at her in law home despite Sameera crying and begging her mother to take her home. Hamza is unaware of Sameera's state and is enjoying married life to its fullest with Warda who is now pregnant. The stress at home & slipping grades takes its toll on Rohina as she attempts suicide but is found in time by her parents. After recovering Sameera comes home to spend a few nights with Rohina. She gets a call that Salman's car is being towed. Sameera is confused as Salman is away for work and his car should be at the airport. Hamza and Sameera rush to identify the car where they see Salman walking out of the hotel with his hand around Pinkie. Sameera screams at Salman before leaving with Hamza. Later Salman, under threat from his father, comes to make amends with Sameera, but she makes it clear their relationship is over. Warda defends her brother's actions causing arguments between her and Hamza. Despite protests from her parents Sameera decides to start working again & files a police complaint with Hamza supporting her. Doctor Feroz is proud of Sameera and realises he is starting to fall in love with her. Salman marries Pinky and Warda secretly sneaks out the house to attend. Rohina sees photos on Warda's phone of her at the wedding and exposes her in front of the whole family leaving Hamza and the parents furious, Sameera however is least bothered. The next day Sameera's father is distraught at how his best friend allowed Sameera to be treated even though he saved Warda, he ends up crashing the car and later dies. Sameera is angry at herself for not fixing her relationship with her father before he passed away & Hamza is forced by his mother to send Warda back to her home & declares their relationship to be over. Warda's mother struggles to console a heartbroken Warda while Warda's father is filled with guilt over his friend's death. Pinky is least happy to see Warda and behaves rudely towards her viewing her as a burden. Sameera scolds Hamza & her mother for treating Warda like this but they ignore her words. A few months later Warda gives birth to a baby boy. Hopes of her in laws taking her back are shattered as Hamza's mother announces she is getting Hamza remarried. In hospital after a mental breakdown, Warda begins to scream and cry. Sameera comes to hold her and consoles Warda promising her she will not let Hamza get remarried. Unbeknownst to Sameera, Salman is close by watching Sameera take care of Warda. He begins to compare Pinky and Sameera and feels guilty over how he treated Sameera. A livid Pinky asks Salman why he went to the hospital knowing Sameera was there. Salman told Pinky that he still loves Sameera and regrets leaving her. Pinky insults Salman and his family as Salman throws her out the houses. In the later episodes, she files a police complaint that Salman and his parents would physically abuse her, Salman and his parents are stunned by Pinky's lies. At home an argument breaks out between Sameera and her mum, Hamza holds his head and then drops to the ground. Warda finds out Hamza is also in hospital and rushes to meet him. She begs Hamzas mum to give her permission to meet Hamza, even placing her child in the mother's feet. Sameera picks the child up and scolds her mother for being so heartless. Doctor Feroz also advises the mother for the sake of Hamza's health Warda should be allowed to meet him to which finally Sameera's mother agrees. Warda sits next to Hamza, they talk out their problems, apologise for mistakes they've made, realising he can't live without her Hamza brings Warda and his son home. The trial for Sameera's court case starts and Salman is informed that the boys who raped her are dangerous & are not going to take this quietly. Salman tries to reason with Sameera and informs her of the risk she is taking but Sameera refuses to listen to Salman's warnings. Outside the police station, Sameera is talking to her lawyer when one of the boys who raped her points at gun at her. Salman pushes Sameera out the way and takes the bullet to his chest. Police officers around then kill the rapist before he attempts to shoot again. Sameera rushes Salman to the hospital and on the way Salman professes his love and asks for her forgiveness. Sameera tells him she has forgiven him for everything. Unfortunately, Salman dies in the hospital. The show forwards to a few years later and we see Sameera walking out the court case surrounded by her family as the judge announces he finds the defendants guilty of rape. Sameera goes to the hospital to meet her husband Doctor Feroz. As she is speaking to Feroz Mukhtaran Mai, a survivor of gang rape and prominent advocate in Pakistan for women's rights, walks into the hospital and congratulates Sameera on her victory. Sameera hugs Mukhtaran and the show ends. ===== A motherless Princess, often lonely but skilled in writing, reading, dancing, and cooking thanks to her maternal figure--her nurse (nanny)--has her hand in marriage promised to an ogre against her consent; her father, the king, had brokered a deal, trafficking her in exchange for fifty wagons of silver. The princess is horrified and stalls the wedding by requesting of her father the seemingly impossible task of conjuring four bridal gifts--a dress "as golden as the sun," a dress "silvery as the moon," and a dress "as glittering as the stars." She also requests a coat made of a thousand types of fur. Unfortunately, her father is able to fulfill her wishes, meaning that she will have to marry the ogre. Left with no choice, the princess flees with her newfound belongings as well as a golden ring, thimble, and miniature spinning wheel her mother had given her. The princess trudges in the cover of night, through snow, deep into a forest which takes her to a foreign kingdom. The king there is out hunting with his men in the morning and happen upon the princess, in her coat of a thousand furs, sleeping in the hollow of a tree. They capture her and put her to work in the palace kitchen, under the watch of a cranky cook. Her quarters are a woodshed near the kitchen. When the princess learns the king will have a ball, she begs the cook to let her catch a glimpse of guests arriving. He acquiesces and she rushes to her shed where she cleans up and dons the first of her spectacular dresses. She charms the king at the ball, then flees at the end of the night before he has a chance to inquire about her further; he did not recognize her as the "Furball" he has working in the kitchen. Back in the kitchen for the night, the princess is commanded to make soup for the king, so she prepares a soup superior to the cook's usual fare and then intentionally drops her mother's golden ring into the soup bowl. Charmed by the soup's new taste and surprised by the ring, the king questions the cook who defers to Furball, the procurer, but she does not confess to know about the ring. Come another ball, the princess once again pulls the routine of asking the cook to sneak a peek at guests, then dons her next dress. The king is once again enamored. Then Furball prepares soup, drops her thimble in it, and the line of questioning takes place once again. A third round of this occurs, involving the spinning wheel, but this time is different, as the king had slipped the golden ring on the princess's finger while dancing. She either hadn't taken notice or forgot to remove the ring prior to being questioned about the spinning wheel, revealing her true identity to the king. He professes love to her and expresses empathy upon hearing her origin story. The two are then married and live happily ever after. ===== Flashbacks encompass the history of the Philippines as well as the life story of the elderly Daniel Águila. So, Agricultural Minister Veerandranath Tagore (Prakash Raj) brings out a resolution to develop farming, as crime can be reduced by eradicating hunger. So, he gives a call for 500 farmers from Combined Andhra Pradesh headed by a wise person Seetaramaiah (Nagineedu). The Govt allocates them 5000 acres of land on lease for 30 years, thereafter, it will be their own. Years roll by, Sarojini Naidu (Jayasudha) a business tycoon moves towards Uttar Pradesh to start her new plant. On the way, she spots a stranger (Nandamuri Balakrishna) with multiple stab wounds. Sarojini Naidu admits him into the hospital, in the next minute she accompanies him in ICU due to a heart attack. Here, Sarojini Naidu is facing a serious threat from her brother-in-law Durga Prasad (Sayaji Shinde) when the stranger miraculously wakes up from the coma and saves her. Learning that the person has completely lost his memory, Sarojini Naidu adopts him by providing a new identity of her deceased son Arjun Prasad. After 2 years, Arjun Prasad is a famous IT magnate. Harika (Sonal Chauhan) the chairman of a rival company tries to overpower Arjun Prasad when she falls for him. Meanwhile, the Telugu farmers at Uttar Pradesh are under severe hardship from local politician Bhavaninath Tagore (Shataf Figar). So, the resident Sandhya (Vedhika), who is shown as the love interest of Arjun Prasad in the past, files a complaint when the Govt appoints a special judiciary committee. But unfortunately, when they walk in, Bhavaninath Tagore falsifies by intimidating the villagers and also claims Sandhya as insane. At the same time, Arjun Prasad smokes out that the Uttar Pradesh project has been jeopardized by Bhavaninath Tagore, who also humiliated Sarojini Naidu very badly. Now, enraged Arjun Prasad speaks against Bhavaninath Tagore and restarts his plant. At that moment, the henchmen of Bhavaninath Tagore attack Arjun Prasad whose blood runs cold after seeing him. Simultaneously, the entire Telugu village eagerly approaches and claims him as Dharma. Thereupon the villagers start narrating the past, Dharma is a powerful police officer, son of Seetaramaiah who stands for justice. Aside, Niranjana Prasad (Bhumika Chawla) daughter of Veerandranath Tagore loves and marries a lower caste guy which her father heartily welcomes. During the time of their reception, Bhavaninath Tagore, the younger brother of Veerandranath Tagore slaughters the bridegroom and also attempts to kill pregnant Niranjana Prasad by means of his racism and vote bank. All at once, Dharma alights, rescues and shields them in the village through Telugu farmers as gratitude. Meanwhile, avenged Bhavaninath Tagore clouts and issues a G.O to repeal the lease agreement. Veerandranath Tagore abides the farmers' agony, so, they leave the village. First, he asks Niranjana Prasad to stand by at the railway station and proceeds towards Bhavaninath Tagore with an appeal for the cancellation of the G.O. But malicious Bhavaninath Tagore kills him and passes an ordinance to his henchmen to eliminate Niranjana Prasad too. Tracing her whereabouts, Dharma lands into a train on time. In the fight, he is severely injured, wiped out and at this juncture, he is witnessed by Sarojini Naidu. In a flash, the story turns to present when Sarojini Naidu also affirms him as Dharma but he is unable to recall his memory. Nevertheless, he decides to encounter Bhavaninath Tagore when his heart is felt with joy knowing that Niranjana Prasad is safeguarded by the villagers and she has given birth to a baby boy named Dharma. At last, Dharma / Arjun Prasad knocks out Bhavaninath Tagore, permanently allots the lands to the farmers and declares Niranjana Prasad as the original heir of the Tagore dynasty. Finally, Sarojini Naidu departs with Harika bequeathing Dharma / Arjun Prasad as his necessity is more to the public than her business empire. =====
