Hysteria (1997 film)

The inmates of a psychiatric hospital are subjected to radical experiments by being implanted with chips that affect the collective consciousness, with the goal to create the perfect citizen. Dr. Harvey Langston did indeed attempt to connect the brains of a group of patients, with corresponding implications for the collective consciousness. The spirit and soul of each individual is now present collectively in each patient. This allows each individual to share each other's psychoses, dreams and even sexuality, and also means that someone who is violent towards others feels their pain firsthand, which means that no one is able to have the desire to hurt others anymore. Only the spirit of Myrna Malloy is stronger than that of the others and dominates them. Myrna, on the other hand, who is in a wheelchair, depends on others to meet her needs. The passion of the former dancer still belongs to ballet.

Dr. Samuel Fry has fallen in love with his patient Veronica Bloom, a psychotic woman who, lacking the drugs the patient needs for her treatment, the doctors can do nothing about. As a result, Fry has to release her, even though she still poses a danger to herself and others. He is also aware that she will then be dependent on prescription drugs and essentially have to live the life of a zombie. Fry brings Veronica with him to Dr. Langston, as he expects help for the young woman from the doctor he admires. At this point, Fry is unaware of how radical Langston's methods have become. However, when he becomes aware of what is going on in the asylum, Fry is determined to free Veronica from Langston's clutches. But first, he has to find Veronica's spirit, which has detached itself from her body.

However, Myrna Malloy manages to redirect his love in her direction. Fry's admiration for Langston, who chose him as his successor, has also meant that his resilience to resist Myrna's co-optation is not strong enough. Gradually, he becomes a willing participant, which is also due to the fact that Dr. Langston has long since transferred his own consciousness into his colleague's younger body. The implanted humans are sent back into the community. The plan is to turn more humans into controlled automatons that depend on each other to work together in perfect harmony. On the other hand, Langston's test group is also a monster that will ensure its own survival at any cost, including violence.

Shallow Grave (1987 film)

At a diner in Georgia, the women meet two young men their age, Chad and Owen, who are also traveling to Florida. The women agree to catch up with the men the next day during the trip. The next day, while approaching the rural town of Medley, the women's car suffers a tire blowout, stranding them. Patty walks toward the town to get help while the others stay behind. Sue Ellen ventures into the woods to urinate, and stumbles upon a man, Dean, and his mistress, Angie, having sex. Sue Ellen watches from a distance as the couple begin to argue over their affair, culminating in Dean killing Angie by breaking her neck. Horrified, Sue Ellen flees, as Dean—the local Medley sheriff—places Angie's corpse in his car. While running, Sue Ellen injures her ankle, preventing her from moving quickly.

Dean, realizing there are witnesses nearby, reaches the women's car before Sue Ellen does, and begins shooting his pistol at Rose and Cindy. One of the bullets strikes Cindy in the head, killing her immediately. Rose flees through the woods as Dean chases after her. Simultaneously, Sue Ellen arrives back at the car, only to find Rose and Cindy missing. She removes the car keys from the trunk hatch, and is subsequently met by Patty, returning to the car after having located a gas station. A panicked Sue Ellen explains to Patty what she witnessed, and the two depart back toward the gas station on foot. Moments later, Patty, having led Dean on a chase through the woods, returns to the car. She glimpses Sue Ellen and Patty down the road in the distance, and attempts to use the car horn to get their attention, but is caught by Dean, who strangles her.

Dean buries the corpses of Angie, Cindy, and Rose in a shallow grave in the woods. Meanwhile, Chad and Owen begin to worry when the women fail to meet them, and decide to backtrack to search for them in Medley. Patty and Sue Ellen reach the closed gas station, where Sue Ellen is attacked by a security dog that injures her arm. They are subsequently met by Deputy Scott, who brings them to the county jail for questioning before holding them. Sheriff Dean arrives shortly after and questions the women, but Sue Ellen does not recognize him. Scott begins to investigate the disappearance of Angie, a barmaid at the local tavern, impervious to the fact that Dean had been carrying on an affair with her. Dean suggests that Sue Ellen and Patty are responsible for Angie's and their friends' disappearances.

When Dean encounters Scott treating Sue Ellen and Patty hospitably at the station, he grows angry, and begins to yell at them. In doing so, Sue Ellen recognizes his voice, and realizes that Dean was the man she witnessed committing the murder. That afternoon, the shallow grave containing the three bodies is uncovered by Eli, the property owner, who phones the police. Scott investigates the scene, and when Dean is notified, he attempts to kidnap Sue Ellen and Patty, but the women manage to flee the jail. Dean summons Scott to help capture the women, whom he attempts to frame for the murders. Meanwhile, after the bodies are removed from the crime scene, Eli discovers Dean's sheriff badge in the dirt.

Patty is captured and returned to the jail by Scott, who disbelieves her claims that Dean is the killer. Dean meanwhile enlists a band of local vigilantes to hunt Sue Ellen, authorizing them to shoot her on sight, while he returns to the jail and strangles Patty, staging it to appear as a suicide. Sue Ellen is ultimately saved from the vigilantes by Scott just as Owen and Chad arrive on the scene, followed by the paramedics and Sheriff Dean. Sue Ellen is placed in an ambulance, which Dean insists on riding along in; he tells Scott he hopes she will confess to the murders. As the ambulance prepares to depart, Eli approaches Scott with Sheriff Dean's badge, which he says he found in the shallow grave on his property. Realizing that Dean is guilty, Scott looks in horror as the ambulance drives away, aware that Dean will ostensibly murder Sue Ellen en route to the hospital.

The Dark Remains (novel)

Jack Laidlaw has been moved to the Central Division of the Glasgow Crime Squad. He is still a DC (detective constable) and is working for DI Ernie Milligan, who was a DC with Laidlaw (Milligan joined the Masons). Robert Frederick the commander of the Glasgow Crime Squad assigns DS Bob Lilley to keep an eye on him, saying Laidlaw's ''reputation has always preceded him .... who has he rubbed up the wrong way this month? .... he’s good at the job, seems to have a sixth sense for what’s happening on the streets (but) he needs careful handling, if we’re to get the best out of him''.

The novel is set in October 1972, early in Laidlaw's career. Bobby Carter the right-hand man and lawyer cum money launderer for Cam Colvin one of Glasgow's top gangsters has disappeared, and then his body is found – in Rhode's territory. John Rhodes is Colvin's main rival; not minor gangsters like Matt Mason and Malky Chisholm. Milligan pontificates to his team that the graffiti tells him that ''the Cumbrie are encroaching on the Carlton turf. A stabbing is one hell of a calling card, wouldn’t you agree?'' He assumes (like other gangsters) that a rival gangster arranged Carter's death, and gang warfare intensifies. But Laidlaw sees in Carter's home evidence of recent painting to cover up bloodstains from a domestic dispute after Carter was stabbed by his bullied wife and children. His wife eventually confesses (but only to Laidlaw), to keep the children out of it. Laidlaw bypasses Milligan, who he despises, by reporting directly to Commander Frederick. On Venus, Have We Got a Rabbi!
:"The word ''goy'' does not apply to aliens. ''Up to recently''."

The frame story is Milchik the TV repairman, the firsthand immediate witness of the events, tells a "Mr. Important Journalist" in a very eloquent and embellished way how this all happened.

You like dust storms? That’s a dust storm. If you don’t like dust storms, you shouldn’t come to Venus. It’s all we got in the way of scenery. The beach at Tel Aviv we don’t got. Grossinger’s, from ancient times in the Catskills, we don’t got. Dust storms we got. But you’re saying to yourself, I didn’t come for dust storms, I didn’t come for conversation. I came to find out what happened to the Jews of the galaxy when they all gathered on Venus. Why should this ''shmendrick'', this Milchik the TV man, have anything special to tell me about such a big event? Is he a special wise man, is he a scholar, is he a prophet among his people? So I’ll tell you. No, I’m not a wise man, I’m not a scholar, I’m certainly not a prophet. A living I barely make, going from level to level in the Darjeeling Burrow with a toolbox on my back, repairing the cheapest kind of closed-circuit sets. A scholar I’m not, but a human being I am. And that’s the first thing you ought to know. Listen, I say to Sylvia, my wife, don’t our Sages say that he who murders one man murders the entire human race? So doesn’t it follow then that he who listens to one man listens to the whole human race? And that he who listens to one Jew on Venus is listening to all the Jews on Venus, all the Jews in the universe, even, from one end to the other? :<...> You’re not Jewish, by any chance? I mean, do you have any Jewish ancestors, a grandfather, a great-grandmother maybe? Are you sure? Well, that’s what I mean. Maybe one of your ancestors changed his name back in 2533 — 2533 by your calendar, of course. It’s not exactly that you look Jewish or anything like that, it’s just that you’re such an intelligent man and you ask such intelligent questions.

About half of the story is a lively explanation why the Great Rabbi Smallman of Venus is so great, and how Venus administration loves the Jewish people, who Neozionists are, and why their congress was convened on Venus, and what a huge crowd of Jews from all over the galaxy had arrived. Milchik muses: "I look around and I remember the promise made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—“I will multiply your seed as the stars of heaven” —and I think to myself, “A promise is a promise, but even a promise can go too far. The stars by themselves are more than enough, but when each star has maybe 10, 20 planets…”" All Jewish living quarters are densely occupied, and one morning Milchick finds in his bathtub "three creatures, each as long as my arm and as thick as my head. They look like three brown pillows, all wrinkled and twisted, with some big gray spots on this side and on that side, and out of each gray spot is growing a short gray tentacle." His son explains him that they are the ''Bulbas'', delegates from the fourth planet of Rigel.

And their accreditation has become a stumbling block of the opening session. The committee said their credentials are in order but for one small thing: they cannot be Jews. - But why? - Of all thises and that's, for starters the Jews have to be human. - Bulbas kindly ask for providing a quotation to this. - Deputy chairman takes over the awkward situation: "But this is really simple: No one can be a Jew who is not the child of a Jewish mother." - But the Bulbas readily present their birth certificates to confirm that all of them have Jewish mothers... Someone calls to a vote, but there are as many opinions as delegates.

They've been accepted as delegates, and who are we to pass upon them as Jews? I'll accept them as Jews in the religious sense, someone else stands up to point out, but not in the biological sense. What kind of biological sense, he's asked by a delegate from across the hall; you don't mean biology, you mean race, you racist. All right, all right, cries out a little man who’s sitting in front of him, but would you want your sister to marry one?

A High Rabbinical Court was convened and rabbi Smallman became its member after some manipulations. Bulbas tell their history before the court. Originally they were a small Orthodox community from Paramus, New Jersey looking for a quiet place, which they thought they had found on Rigel IV, where the Bulbas were at the beginning of the industrial revolution. With the help of the industrious newcomers it brought big progress, but it was followed by big wars, big depressions, big dictatorships. And there was only one answer for the question who was guilty of all of this... And there was the first pogrom on Rigel IV... and then more... But Jews tried to strive for their living and to accommodate, and by the time an enlightened government took power, all Jews looked like plain Bulbas. "And they look like the weakest, poorest Bulbas of all, Bulbas of the very lowest class." And bulbas learned at the congress that this was happening everywhere. "After all, hadn’t there been blonde Jews in Germany, redheaded Jews in Russia, black Jews—the Falashas—in Ethiopia, tall Mountain Jews in the Caucasus who had been as fine horsemen and marksmen as their neighbors? "

Bulbas were told that the change they described is against the experimental facts of biology. The Bulbas, who presented their complete genealogical charts, retorted: "Who are you going to believe, the experimental facts of biology—or your fellow Jews?"

And this turned out to be an important question: "Ruth was a Moabite, and from her came eventually King David. And how about Ezra and the problem of the Jewish men who took Canaanite wives? And where do you fit the Samaritans in all this? Jewish women, you’ll remember, were not allowed to marry Samaritans. And what does Maimonides have to say on the subject?"

It was suggested that their problem may be resolved simply by conversion to Judaism. But others insisted that the procedure of conversion of people who already are Jews would be a mockery.

Eventually rabbi Smallman brought everybody to a common point of view. "To bring a bunch of Jews—and learned Jews!—to a single decision, that, my friend, is an achievement that can stand"...

Resurrection (2022 film)

Margaret is a composed, successful businesswoman living in Albany, New York and single mother to Abbie, who is about to go off to college. She has an affair with Peter, her married co-worker. One day, Abbie finds a tooth in her wallet. While sleeping with Peter, Margaret misses a phone call from Abbie, who had a biking accident while drunk. During a work conference, Margaret notices David, a man from her past, also attending, has a panic attack and runs home, where she prevents Abbie from seeing a friend.

That night Margaret has a nightmare about finding a baby in the oven. She becomes irritable and attempts to have sex with Peter at their workplace. She sees David again while shopping and runs off with Abbie, who shuts herself off from her mother, worried about her behavior. After another panic attack at work, Margaret confronts David. David claims that "Ben is with me", which upsets her. When he smiles, a tooth is missing from his mouth. She goes to the police, but they refuse to interfere. She has new locks installed and arms herself with a gun.

One night after work, Margaret tells Gwyn, an intern in an abusive relationship, about David. She met him when she was 18 at a research facility she travelled to with her biologist parents. He charmed her family, giving her alcohol and pills. She moved in with him after two weeks. David soon became abusive and controlling, asking Margaret for “kindnesses” in return for his love, which included hour-long meditations, burning herself with cigarettes, and fasting for days. She gave birth to a son named Benjamin at home. David became jealous of Margaret’s love for their son and one day she returned home to find all but two fingers from Benjamin gone. David claimed to have eaten him. Margaret became catatonic and David manipulated her into believing their dead son was alive inside him. She eventually fled to America.

Margaret finds David's hotel and follows him to a diner, where she asks him to leave. David continues to manipulate her and asks her for a "kindness": she is to walk barefoot to work instead of driving. He also implies that he is responsible for Abbie's biking accident. He leaves a key, which Margaret uses to enter his hotel room, where she finds Ben's baby blanket. She wakes up the next day lactating. She starts to map out David's routine and plans to kill him at a bench near a river. Abbie and Peter ask her to seek help. Margaret scolds Abbie, who says she is scared of her mother and will leave if she does not seek help.

Margaret tries to follow through on her plan to kill David, but he overpowers her. A delusional and exhausted Margaret hears Ben's cries from David's stomach. David chastises Margaret for trying to kill him and asks for another "kindness": she is to hold a complicated yoga position in a public park at night for hours. The next morning, a scared Abbie runs away from Margaret, who sees Peter spying on her. He confesses his love to her, but she punches and threatens him. David visits Margaret at work where he belittles her life and asks her to come to a hotel room that night, which she does after writing a goodbye letter to Abbie and recording a video message. David makes Margaret feel his stomach and claims that Ben is moving. Margaret attacks him with a knife she hid. David overpowers her but she has another knife hidden in her socks. She stabs him in the side and David stabs her in the back. She then slices his left achilles tendon, ties him up to the bed, and slices open his stomach, from which he dies. She pulls out his intestines, apparently finding a breathing fetus that she holds with care.

Abbie is seen leaving home for college. She lovingly says goodbye to Margaret, who is holding the baby. Abbie thanks her for keeping her safe as Margaret allows her to hold the baby herself. However, Margaret's smile slowly fades away before she gasps in terror.

The Astonishing Color of After

At the novel’s opening, Leigh states that her mother Dory has turned into a red bird after her suicide, after leaving a note with the crossed-out statement: “I want you to remember”. Leigh experiences trauma from these events and feels that she cannot confide in her best friend Axel. This is because, in Leigh’s mind, their friendship has become complicated because she kissed him on the same day of her mother’s suicide. Leigh is an artist and relies only on pencils and charcoal, refusing to add colors to her artwork.

Leigh’s father, Brian, refuses to believe that her mother has turned into a red bird, even after a bird visits their home. Leigh’s father nonetheless buys her tickets to meet Leigh’s Taiwanese grandparents, Waipo and Waigong (grandmother and grandfather in Mandarin, respectively). Dory’s estrangement from her parents led her to not teach Leigh Mandarin, so there is an immediate language barrier between her and her grandparents. Leigh learns that her grandparents burned the box the red bird had brought her. Additionally, her father gets into an argument with Waipo and leaves for Hong Kong.

Leigh meets an English speaker named Feng who is a close friend of the family. Leigh also burns incense that allows her to see her parents’ memories. At night, she begins to burn special incense and items that mean something to the owner to see memories of the past, such as photographs, a necklace, or a letter. These memories include those of her parents, her grandparents, and herself. Occasionally, she thinks of Axel and events that took place over her freshman year of high school, such as him asking one of their classmates, Leanne out.

Desperate to find the red bird, Leigh asks to go to her mother’s favorite places. Leigh, Feng, and Waipo travel to many of these destinations. At one point, a frustrated Leigh yells at Feng to leave, but quickly regrets this and finds Feng to apologize. Throughout these travels, Leigh continues to see memories of her family’s past including recollections of her aunt Jingling who died of an aneurysm in college. This is revealed to be one of the reasons that Dory left Taiwan. Leigh also has memories of her increasingly confusing friendship with Axel as the two share many close moments despite his relationship with Leanne. Leigh remembers how Dory had struggled with growing depression and with her father spending most of his time away on business, Leigh had difficulty adapting to it.

After numerous attempts to see the red bird and as she experiences insomnia and recalls the memories of her loved ones, Leigh begins to see cracks in her dreamscape world. She calls her father back and tries to show him, Waipo, and Waigong the same memories that she had been seeing. When she wakes back up, the cracks are gone and she reconnects with her father. She then learns that Feng was the ghost of Jingling, who has finally passed on. The family spreads Jingling and Dory’s ashes together. Once Leigh and her father are home in America, she learns that she has been chosen to showcase her artwork in Germany and her father affirms to her they are going together. She creates art based on the memories she was shown, using colors in her drawings for the first time.

Girl Giant and the Monkey King

Thom is sitting on a bench in a soccer game. When the ball came to her, Thom accidentally kicks the ball so hard it hits the rival team's goalie. The "dynamic trio", consisting of Bethany Anderson, Sarah Mazel and Kathy Joon, (Korean) were not impressed.

The next day, an event known as Culture Day is being held which requires most students to pair up. Thom, however, does not wish to participate.

Together with her Pomeranian dog, she explores the neighbour's house and meets Kha, who is the same race and age as her. He lives with his grandparents and goes to the same school as Thom. When Ma found out about Culture Day, she cheerily suggests that Thom should wear Áo dài and play the đàn bầu.

But when Thom disagrees with her idea because the students would laugh at her, Ma brings Thom to Thien Than Temple where she brags that their culture is better than the Americans and narrates the story of the Boy Giant. Thom finds a golden pin that fell out from a little temple. She keeps it in her pocket but at night she discovers that the golden pin is actually the Monkey King who is now released from his 500-year prison sentence.

The next day, Thom is playing soccer and scores a goal but it still does not impress everyone, especially the "dynamic trio". When Thom is alone in the classroom, the Monkey King appears and breaks the teacher's calculator before throwing a 70-pound table at Thom but she catches it with one hand. The teacher has found out about the mess and sends Thom to the principal's office.

At home, the principal had called Ma and she and Thom got into a heated argument about Thom's life in Thuy. Skipping to another day, Thom gets a high fever as a result of an extremely hot shower. The Monkey King offers to take Thom to the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit where the waters will heal Thom. Thom meets the Monkey King's elder brother, Shing-Rhe. She and Shing-Rhe have a good chat about demons and humans and how the whole tribe of monkeys are demons too. After Thom finishes drinking the water, she is completely healed and is taken back home.

The following day when Kha is invited to discuss about the Culture Day with Thom, Kha claims he is a dragon sent by Heaven but Thom does not believe him. After telling the Monkey King about Kha, Thom requests him to take her to California to see her friends Thuy. When they got there, Thuy is now friends with a girl named Amber. The Monkey King takes Thom to a junkyard and orders her to lift heavy vehicles that get bigger each time Thom is able to lift one.

The following day, during a soccer match, the invisible Monkey King kicks Thom's leg which causes the ball to be sent flying. Kha already knew this and tells her not to trust the Monkey King.

Kha is invited to dinner as his grandparents are away. He and Thom have decided the topic for their poster would be the Four Immortals. At night, the Monkey King takes Thom to Hell and gets her to arm-wrestle all of the demons. Thom beats all of them easily. She met a female fox demon named Concao and came to a realisation that the Monkey King is missing his cudgel.

The next night, the Monkey King plans to get his cudgel back but because his powers would be weaker if he shrunk, he sends Thom to disguise herself as a Lotus student who is here to see the Lotus Master. Thom puts the tiny Monkey King in her ear. However, things went wrong when the Jade Soldiers stopped her and plan to put her in the Judgement Veil. Kha arrives and his claim is actually true and is now chasing after Thom as a dragon. A girl named Jae stops Kha and leads Thom to the Lotus Academy.

Thom meets the Boy Giant, who is acting just like Ma. Jae gives him an invitation to a banquet and suggests Thom should come. At the banquet, Jae's father is the Jade Emperor. The Monkey King steals Jae's ring which is the key to the armory. When Thom starts talking about the Monkey King, she is asked to leave.

When Thom reached the armory, she manages to take the cudgel but the Boy Giant stops her and says that she is actually his daughter. An enraged Thom hits her own father with the cudgel and when the Jade Soldiers arrived, Thom manages to defeat all of them with the cudgel too. Kha decided to take Thom home.

When Thom got home, she hides the cudgel. The Culture Day went well but the Monkey King comes and takes his cudgel but Thom does not allow him because he needs to make her normal. When Ma saw the Monkey King talking to Thom, she is instantly turned into a cricket.

Post After Post-Mortem

With scores of treatises, reviews, and criminal novels published under family name, the Surrays and their five kids are a prolific writer family living at Upwood, Oxfordshire. Ruth, the middle sister, has, however, recently given her elder brother, Richard, some cause for concern. Richard, who has the trained eye of a psychiatrist, has seen that Ruth appears to be experiencing stress. Richard recommends to their mother that she may attempt to persuade Ruth to go on vacation with her because her most recent book has just been published and would undoubtedly receive the same critical praise as her earlier works. However, before this can take place, Ruth is discovered dead in her bedroom at her parents' house, complete with sleeping pills, a farewell letter, and a new will, all of which are strong indicators that she committed suscide. Following the inquest, which produces the anticipated result, Richard returns to his own house where he discovers a letter from Ruth that was written the evening of her passing but wasn't sent right away. In the letter, Ruth appears to be quite content and is making plans for the upcoming week. Although he'd like not to worry his family further, especially his mother. Inspector Macdonald of the Yard, a friend of Richard's, whom he feels compelled to share the letter to, agrees that there is cause to further examine Ruth's death as a result of the letter.

Inspector Macdonald is soon persuaded that Ruth's death was the result of murder and has a number of suspects to take into account. The family also comprises Ruth's parents, two brothers, and two sisters. At the time, three guys Ruth had invited to a modest home party were involved in her literary profession in some manner. On the surface, it would appear that the members of this happy family had no cause to murder a cherished sibling, but Macdonald has a sneaking suspicion that more than one of them is concealing something, maybe to save their mother further harm but possibly for sinister motives. The same is true of the three visitors; they are all reticent to provide Macdonald information that they believe may be relevant but that they believe would only damage Ruth's image and literary legacy. Being both a clever intellectual with much to say in her novels about the human condition and emotionally unsophisticated and even restrained in her private life, Ruth was somewhat of a paradox.

Daddy's Girl (1996 film)

Eleven-year-old girl, Jody, is adopted by a loving couple, Don, and Barbara Mitchell. Jody develops an obsession with her father and paranoia and jealousy about others spending time with him. This leads her to become psychopathic and so envious of his relationships with other people she sets out to remove these people from her father's life.

Jody kills her principal, Mrs. Hemp, for suggesting that Jody may need to be placed in a state-run boarding school, where she will only see her father on weekends, because of her behavior problems the past school year. Jody goes to the school when only Mrs. Hemp is there and tricks her into standing on a chair to retrieve a book from a high shelf. Jody then pushes the chair out from under her principal, and proceeds to tip the bookcase over onto her prostrate form, crushing her to death. Jody then steals her student file and rips it to shreds.

Don and Barbara's marriage is becoming strained because of Don's constant spoiling of Jody and the fact that Barbara has to be the breadwinner since Don is working as a toy designer but his projects are not selling. Barbara vents her frustrations to various people, who tell her to divorce Don and take custody of Jody. Jody's maternal grandmother, Jacqueline, is one of the first to do so and, in response to this, Jody pours drain cleaning fluid into Jacqueline's juice one day when Jacqueline is at their house for brunch. She tries to trick Jacqueline into drinking by toasting her father as a great toy designer, but Jacqueline refuses to drink to this. So, later, Jody goes to her house and suggests playing a game of hide-and-seek with her so they can grow closer. Tricking Jacqueline into going upstairs and playing a cassette of her crying for help, Jody shoves her grandmother down the stairs.

Jacqueline survives the fall, but goes into a coma. She is later killed in the hospital when Jody sabotages her ventilator after waking up from her coma. Later, Jody kills her mother's friend, Rachel, as Jody had overheard Rachel advising Barbara to consider divorcing Don, by beating her to death with a fireplace poker.

During the course of the film, Jody's adoptive cousin, Karen, a college student who has been staying with the family for the summer, becomes suspicious of Jody's behavior. She begins investigating Jody's past, despite Barbara's insistence that she mind her own business, and discovers that as a 4 year old toddler, Jody witnessed the murder of her biological father by her biological mother, and that she had been removed from her previous foster home when her foster father was convicted of fraud after his wife was killed for being a nag, suspiciously similar to that of Jody's recently deceased adoptive grandmother (it’s implied that Jody killed her previous foster mother). This causes Karen to alert social services.

At the end of the film, Jody pushes Barbara over the edge of a balcony upon discovering that she is on the verge of finding out about Jody's crimes, but this does not kill her. When the social worker, Mark Springer, arrives at Jody's home, Jody bludgeons him to death with a heavy meat tenderizing mallet, then tries to pin it on Karen. Don, who was at a toy convention, returns home to tell Barbara that she no longer has to be the breadwinner as he successfully sold a design for a lot of money, only to find the body of Springer and his wife injured on the ground. Despite Jody desperately trying to not get Don to see that she was responsible for all the crimes she committed, Barbara manages to tell Don everything, while Karen calls 911.

Jody begins crying, saying that everyone is against her and begs Don to comfort her and love her, but Don, now knowing what his adopted daughter is capable of, refuses to comfort her, completely disgusted by her actions, and pushes her away, practically disowning Jody as his daughter. Don and Karen then continue to comfort Barbara while ignoring Jody, who still cries over the fact that Don doesn't love her and that everyone is against her, failing to realize the true reasons why. The movie closes with Jody's crying and the sound of police sirens in the background, giving implication to Jody's potential fate of being arrested or institutionalized.

Pajama Day (South Park)

At South Park Elementary, Mr. Garrison introduces the class to his new boyfriend, Rick. However, when he gets a phone call from another boyfriend, Marcus, and the students fail to cover for him, an angered Garrison excoriates the students, and tells PC Principal, who has overheard the commotion, that the children are unresponsive and unfocused. Admonishing the students for not appreciating their teacher, PC Principal forbids them from wearing pajamas on Pajama Day, which is described as the "Met Gala for kids." When the students complain, he furthermore admonishes them not to invoke Nazi Germany when they fail to get what they want, which serves as a recurring gag in the episode. He also tells counselor Mr. Mackey that if he changes his mind, he will look weak.

The punishment results in a backlash on the part of the townsfolk, who protest PC Principal's actions by wearing pajamas throughout the day, including in the workplace. Seeing that his decision has backfired, PC Principal tells fourth grader Wendy Testaburger her class must resolve this problem, resulting in a schism among the local workforce, and arrests of people who refuse to wear pajamas, as well as those who engage in criminal behavior in their attempts to shame them. As riots and arrests escalate, Police Sergeant Harrison Yates observes that the town is turning into a powder keg.

At an afterschool meeting, Wendy suggests that they apologize to Garrison. The next day an elated Garrison tells the class he has decided to be with Rick, but when he sees Butters Stotch is not paying attention to his anecdote, it results in another angry tirade by him and PC Principal. As town-wide conflict and allusions to Nazism continue, however, PC Principal tells Wendy that her class can wear pajamas, and that he will resign. However, when Wendy mentions that they still have Opposite Day to look forward to, this gives PC Principal an idea. He announces to the school that due to a calendar error, it is actually not Pajama Day, but Opposite Day, when students are allowed to wear what they want, which means the fourth graders can wear pajamas. With the conflict resolved, the jailed citizens are released.

Tom realizes that all three tickets were to the same destination, Istanbul, Turkey. When they get there, he steals a private aircraft to fly to Israel. He says that he will follow Elsie to India, as the name of the turkey bird in French and Turkish means "Indian".

The animals arrive in Israel and wish to guide Shalom to Jerusalem's Western Wall, but they get lost in Palestine before meeting disgraced former cigarette spokesman Joe Camel, who takes them to the wall. The Jews are disgusted by the sight of a pig at their holy site and chase the animals, throwing rocks, as do the Palestinians on the other side of the border wall. Joe Camel tells the Israelis and Palestinians that they should bond over their monotheism and hatred of pigs, which they do.

Returning to their aircraft, the animals make their way to Mumbai, where Elsie is doted on by even the poorest in society. She however cannot bond with the elitist native cows of India, who look down on other animals, including humans. Concluding that it is wrong to treat animals too badly or too favorably, Elsie tells the others to fly back to the United States. The Wolf and the Lion (film)

After losing her grandfather, Alma Deranquel returns to her childhood home in the Canadian wilderness. In the forest, she comes across the wreckage of a plane that had been destined for a circus...with a lion cub poached from its mother in Africa. The cub falls into her hands when a bald eagle knocks it out of the nest it fell into during the crash. So, she decides not to hand it over to the forest rangers because her grandfather campaigned against the mistreatment of animals in circuses. At the same time, a female wolf who had somewhat befriended Alma's grandfather—perhaps because his cabin was built over the site of the old wolf den where she, herself, was born and raised—comes to find refuge in Alma's house, with her pup, when she is pursued by two scientists. The lion cub and the wolf pup live like brothers; they play together and both are kept well-fed thanks to the she-wolf.

But, while Alma is off on a 2-day trip involving a classical music audition for the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, the wolf mother disappears. It turns out that she was hit by a tranquilizer dart fired by one of the two scientists. Both of them wishing to transfer her to a breeding facility for the (fictional) endangered wolf species Canis lupus nyx! This leaves Alma the only one available to raise and protect the cubs while the three of them live in peace for a year or two. During that time, she names the wolf pup Mozart and the lion cub "Dreamer" (in apparent reference to the Ozzy Osbourne song). After Alma has an accident, her Native Canadian godfather Joe must notify the authorities in order to save her, despite the fact that this separates the trio.

Mozart is reunited with his mother at the rescue facility, where the two zoologists hope he'll breed with the available younger females as soon as possible. Meanwhile, the lion trainer of the circus who bought Dreamer begins showing his classical music-loving son Raphael how to show a lion who is "boss!" The brutal methods demonstrated (off-camera) visibly horrifying the boy. In the meantime, Alma has left the hospital where she had been recovering from a concussion. And, with Joe's help, she begins tracking down which particular circus bought Dreamer, as the local forest ranger in charge is also Joe's bitter ex-girlfriend, making her doubly uncooperative.

The circus in question eventually passes by the wolf breeding facility, allowing Mozart to catch his foster brother's scent. Mozart therefore escapes that very night by digging a tunnel under the mesh-wire fence! Upon discovering this, Eli (the senior zoologist) has to apologize to Alma for their earlier misunderstandings in order to get her help in tracking down Mozart. By which point, Mozart has miraculously liberated Dreamer, allowing the two of them to head back towards Alma's island. Unfortunately, their journey does not go unnoticed and the police soon receive multiple phone calls about the two "dangerous" animals.

With Rapha's help, Alma and Eli track down Mozart and Dreamer not far from the child-sized log cabin where Alma used to play as a little girl. Rapha's father tries to take Dreamer back at gunpoint! But, Rapha manages to dissuade him just before a police SWAT team arrives on the scene. Alma takes Mozart and Dreamer through a secret tunnel from the play house to a certain hollow tree. From there, she and Mozart swim to the island. But, without Dreamer, who wanders off to divert the SWAT team's attention! Tense moments later, however, it is revealed that Dreamer managed to outwit his hunters.

The movie ends with Alma performing an outdoor concert for the benefit of abused captive wild animals while Mozart and Dreamer play together in the nearby woods. A perfect visual example of both mutual inter-species tolerance and, ironically, what can happen when mankind forces two geographically separated species together by taking them out of their rightful natural environments in the first place.

Through My Window (film)

Raquel starts narrating the story of her life. In a classroom we see her refusing to read her assignment as even though she knows how to write a story, she isn’t brave enough to tell it. She then says that her story doesn’t start in this classroom, it actually starts in her house.

Her house as she describes is a humble abode that, through ups and downs, ended up surrounded by an empire called the Hidalgo mansion. The Hidalgos are her next door neighbors but their lifestyle is completely different from hers. The Hidalgos own Alpha 3, one of the most influential companies in the country, whose headquarters is the most spectacular building in Barcelona.

Alpha 3 refers to the three heirs to the empire, the Hidalgo brothers, Artemis, Ares and Apolo. Raquel has an unhealthy obsession with Ares but has never said a word to him. She knows everything he does and likes to collect information about him.

Apolo thanks Raquel for letting them use her Wi-Fi as theirs is broken. She is confused and finds out that Ares has hacked into her computer and cracked the Wi-Fi password. The next day Raquel follows Ares into a secluded wooded area, where she confronts him about hacking into her computer. In response, he writes the password on her hand and asks her why it is a code that says, ‘Ares, Greek God’. They exchange words which leads to Raquel admitting that she likes him and wants him to fall for her.

At night she unplugs the Wi-Fi to assert that its her, who is in control of it. But Ares climbs up her window into her room and plugs it back in. They share a steamy moment that leaves Raquel wanting for more. The next day Ares invites her to a party where she seduces him but doesn’t let him get what he wants and exclaims that karma is a bitch. Later, she buys a drink for Apolo who gets too drunk and doesn’t want to go back to his place. She takes him to her place with the help of her friend, Daniela. On the way to her place, Apolo accidendally breaks her phone. Ares again climbs up her window and says that until their father goes to work, they can’t go back home. Ares opens up to her about his grandfather’s death and how he too has allergies just like him. Ares gifts Raquel a new phone but she isn’t very pleased with this gesture. So she goes to his house to return the phone but things get too steamy and they end up having sex. But after this, Ares acts indifferent which makes Raquel really angry and she storms off.

She realizes that she has left her locket at his place so she goes back to get it. She ends up staying the night but in the morning he again dismisses her and makes her leave. Raquel’s friends, Daniela and Yoshi bring her to a party to help her take her mind off of Ares where she gets drunk. Ares sees her in the street in a vulnerable position and takes her to her house. Ares admits that he has been pushing her away as she makes him feel things and how his father has already set a path for him which he has follow. A path that doesn’t involve falling for any girl. Ares tells Raquel that he genuinely does care about her and asks her to give him another chance.

Everything seems to be going well this time. But that is until Ares takes Raquel to a family party to prove a point to his father. There, Raquel feels humiliated when she sees her mother working as a waiter.

Raquel has a heartfelt conversation with her mother where she tells her not to follow in the footsteps of her father. Her father was a great writer but he never had the courage to publish his novel. She encourages her to cut all the drama and just tell Ares how she really feels about him.

Raquel goes to Ares’s place to tell him just that but isn’t allowed into the house as everyone in his family feels that she is a distraction that will stop him from attaining his goals. Ares disobeys everyone and runs to the prom where he is shunned by Yoshi for breaking Raquel’s heart so many times.

Yoshi always had feelings for Raquel and wanted to be more than just her friend. He had resented Raquel and Ares’s relationship from the very beginning.

Yoshi is furious and doesn’t let Ares speak to Raquel. They exchange words that lead to a fight where Yoshi pushes Ares into a partially empty pool, spilling chlorine into as he turns away.

Yoshi tells Raquel what happened at the pool and she rushes to save Ares as she remembers that he is allergic to chlorine. It is said that Ares suffered from a severe anaphylactic attack.

Raquel visits him at the hospital and stays by his side the whole time until he completely recovers. After the scare, Ares’s family lets him do what he wants. So, he decided to study medicine in Stockholm.

On the airport, Ares confesses that he had purposefully broken their Wi-Fi so that he could talk to her.

Raquel is finally brave enough to tell her story, so four months later she publishes her book called ‘Through My Window’.

Following her instructions, he escapes the room and enters a public bath where nearly a hundred gangsters attack and try to kill him. Thanks to his lethal fighting skills, he survives their assault.

Inside a van of NIS agents, the female voice reveals that she is Han Jung-hee who works for North Korea's Labor Party, which has partnered with South Korea to create a treatment for the virus. Dr. Jung Byung-ho, who successfully cured his own infected daughter Ha-na, leads the project based on an antibody from her. On the way to a lab in North Korea, Ha-na went missing presumably kidnapped by the CIA. Carter's mission is to rescue Ha-na and bring her back to the North Korean facility where the production of a vaccine is underway. When Carter questions his identity and why he is engaged in this mission, he is told that he is a South Korean-born naturalized citizen of North Korea who has decided to take part in the mission to save his own infected daughter. However, CIA agents who approach him claim that he is actually a former CIA agent named Michael Bane who was believed to be dead during a mission in Syria.

After a long series of fights, Carter manages to arrive in North Korea with Ha-na where they meet Han Jung-hee and her superior, North Korean General Kim Jong-hyeok. Before Carter can complete his mission and get his memories back, General Kim betrays Jung-hee and him to launch a military coup against the North Korean government.

While Ha-na is a captive of Kim's forces and Kim works to convince Jung-hee to join the coup, Carter escapes from the soldiers assigned to kill him. Carter follows General Kim and Jung-hee to a biomedical facility where Ha-na stays, reuniting with her father Dr. Jung. Carter learns that Jung-hee is his wife and shoots Kim who threatens Jung-hee with a gun. At the same facility, they meet their infected daughter Yoon-hee who behaves violently and attacks Jung-hee. Dr. Jung injects Yoon-hee with an antidote which makes her temporarily unconscious.

After fighting against the infected patients and Kim's soldiers, they escape the facility in a jeep. On the way, Jung-hee and Dr. Jung restore Carter's memories by activating a device implanted in the back of his head. Stan invites Token and his parents, Steve and Linda Black, to the farm for dinner. During the meal, it is revealed that Token's first name is actually , in honor of J. R. R. Tolkien. This comes to the surprise of Stan, who learns that he was the only one in his class who did not know this. Steve accepts Randy's invitation to work with him by providing financial consulting for his cannabis business, Tegridy Farms. However, Steve is later angered to see a Tegridy Farms billboard using his likeness. When Randy gives him some of the profits resulting from the new ad campaign, Steve initially entertains the idea, but when he realizes he is being commodified, and that Randy is not interested in any of his ideas, he leaves the business.

Stan goes to a doctor, and says that he fears that he is racist, having thought Tolkien's first name was a reference to tokenism. The doctor harshly criticizes Stan for having assumed such a thing, and breaks the fourth wall to question whether "anyone else" believed the same thing. Tolkien Appreciation Day, but when he invites Tolkien up to speak, Tolkien declares he has never shared his father's love with the writer, hates Tolkien's work, and the fact that he was named after him. Later at Stan's house, Stan confesses to Tolkien his error regarding Tolkien's name. Tolkien says his parents bought the cannabis farm across the road, and named it Credigree Weed. Randy is incensed by this, and by the fact that Steve is using Randy's idea of exploiting Black culture for profit, and speaking in African-American Vernacular English to establish "street cred" with customers. Too Like the Lightning

Set in the year 2454, the novel is a fictional memoir written by self-confessed unreliable narrator Mycroft Canner, a brilliant, infamous, and paroled criminal who often serves the world's most powerful leaders. He has been commissioned by several other characters to write the "history" that the series is presented as. Mycroft frequents the Saneer-Weeksbooth home, in which an important stolen document has been planted. The mystery of why and by whom serves as a focal point which draws many different characters, vying for global power and peace, into involvement with the family. Meanwhile, Mycroft tries to protect and conceal a child named Bridger, who has the power to make the unreal real.

March the twenty-third, 2454

Carlyle Foster has been assigned as the new sensayer (professional spiritual guide) of the Saneer-Weeksbooth bash'. He enters their home suddenly and witnesses the death of a living toy soldier, brought to life by Bridger's miracle. Martin Guildbreaker has also arrived at the bash' to investigate a crime: an unpublished newspaper article was stolen and planted in the bash'house as though to frame them for grand theft. Martin meets and interrogates Ockham Saneer, head of the bash'.

Mycroft is summoned to Tōgenkyō by Chief Director Hotaka Andō Mitsubishi. Andō and his wife Danaë interrogate Mycroft. Carlyle returns to the bash', gets to know Eureka Weeksbooth and touches base with Mycroft.

March the twenty-fourth, Renunciation Day

Mycroft and Censor Vivien Ancelet calculate the economic and cultural impact of the ''Black Sakura'' situation. Dominic Seneschal enters the Saneer-Weeksbooth bash' to investigate. The Hive leaders approve J.E.D.D. Mason to lead the investigation of the crime. Mycroft answers questions for two Utopians who are also on the case.

Switching narrators briefly, Martin Guildbreaker dictates an interview with ''Black Sakura'' reporter Tsuneo Sugiyama, where he begins to learn about the conspicuous suicides and car crashes which have been subtly affecting world politics.

March the twenty-fifth

An unplanned security drill is called that morning at the Saneer-Weeksbooth bash'. J.E.D.D. Mason arrives. They realize that Dominic has been skulking around the bash'house for a full day. J.E.D.D. and Ockham negotiate.

Mycroft finds Bridger distressed: Dominic Seneschal has found Bridger's cave and confiscated many items. Mycroft wants to hide Bridger, but Thisbe is suspicious. Carlyle finds out Mycroft is the infamous serial killer Mycroft Canner who tortured, murdered, and ate the seventeen Mardi bash' members thirteen years before.

Julia Doria-Pamphili, Mycroft's court-appointed sensayer, arrives. Carlyle and Julia travel together and discuss how Andō and Danaë's bash'kids are suspiciously entering high offices throughout the Hives.

March the twenty-sixth

Saladin, Mycroft's secret lover and accomplice, has found the only remaining Mardi, Tully. Mycroft asks Saladin to kill Bridger if he is about to be captured.

Thisbe and Carlyle go to the 'black hole' in Paris which Eureka says J.E.D.D. Mason frequents. It turns out to be a secret, Eighteenth-Century era themed, high-security Gendered Sex Club, where some worship J.E.D.D. Mason as a god. They find out that the world leaders often secretly assemble and make deals here, united by Madame D'Arouet and J.E.D.D. Mason, her son.

Martin Guildbreaker conducts interviews with Cato Weeksbooth and his psychiatrist. Mycroft discusses Madame's club and the Humanist's Death Wish List with Eureka over text. He stumbles upon Tully Mardi in public and has his cover as a Servicer blown. He and Tully attempt to attack each other, which is prevented by the Utopians. Mycroft is taken to Julia Doria-Pamphili's office, where he overhears a theological tryst between her and Dominic Seneschal.

The world leaders meet at Madame's. Saladin finds Bridger in distress, takes him to a safe house, and decides to hunt down Dominic.

March the twenty-seventh

Carlyle finds a group of Humanists harassing Servicers near Bridger's cave. Seeing Bridger's collection cave, as full of toys as J.E.D.D. Mason's home was full of religious relics, Carlyle realizes a connection between them. He departs for Paris.

A final interlude by Martin Guildbreaker commences: a consultation with Commissioner General Ektor Papadelias. By examining the pattern of car crashes and Cato Weeksbooth's suicidal episodes, they realize the Saneer-Weeksbooth bash' is carrying out targeted assassinations, ostensibly in order to maintain the world political status quo and prevent war. They debate the kill-dozens-to-save-thousands ethics of pursuing this investigation. If these assassinations are revealed, war may begin.

Seven Surrenders

Ockham meets with Ganymede, Andō, and European Prime Minister Casimir Perry, to discuss what steps should be taken in the face of recent events. They propose using O.S., the nickname for the Saneer-Weeksbooth's secret system of strategic assassinations which has maintained world peace for almost three centuries.

Carlyle finds herself lured into a meeting with Dominic, her newly reassigned sensayer. The session is interrupted by the arrival of the Utopian Voltaire Seldon, who had tracked the Canner Device to Dominic's room. After breaking her down thoroughly, Dominic convinces Carlyle to work with her to harness Bridger's power for J.E.D.D. Mason. Desperate to preserve Bridger, Mycroft tries to get through to Carlyle, but she switches off her tracker before he can finish.

A flashback to thirteen years ago depicts the scene at Madame's when the world leaders decided Mycroft's sentence after his murder spree.

Mycroft finds Saladin in custody at Madame's. Cornel MASON demands an explanation about Apollo Mojave's coat and the immense number of lethal weapons stored within it. Mycroft reveals that the Mardi bash' had been preparing for global war.

After Sniper's kidnappers return it, the Saneer-Weeksbooth bash' holds a meeting of O.S. to decide whether or not to obey President Ganymede's potential hit order. Carlyle is discovered hiding and listening in. Thisbe drags her away and coerces Carlyle to confess her role as Conclave Head Julia Doria-Pamphili's pawn. Bridger sneaks into Madame's but Mycroft declines to be rescued.

At the Utopian Transit Network with Guildbreaker and Papadelias, a Cartesian set-set unintentionally reveals the breadth and depth of O.S.'s impact. Since the Saneer-Weeksbooth transit system began using Cartesian set-sets 244 years ago, they have caused 2,204 deaths and also saved the world dozens of times. Papa convinces Carlyle to share her recording of the bash's recent meeting. Weighing the consequences, J.E.D.D. Mason, Guildbreaker, Papa, and the Utopians agree to set a trap around O.S.'s next target.

March the twenty-eighth

Sniper visits Faust at Brill's Institute. They debate about current events and faction tensions, before finding Tully Mojave giving another soapbox speech. With millions of fans watching, Sniper joins in and supports Tully.

Julia Doria-Pamphili calls the Mitsubishi set-sets to negotiate the situation they've caused at the CFB. Carlyle is eavesdropping and confronts Julia. Papadelias arrests the Conclave Head, but not before she reveals who Carlyle's biological mother is.

The world leaders, including newly inducted Casimir Perry, assemble at Madame's. All the secrets they've been keeping from each other, including O.S., are revealed. Carlyle sneaks in and confronts Danaë. Casimir Perry reveals himself to be Merion Kraye, a disgraced European politician who assaulted Danaë and fathered Carlyle. After faking his own death and clawing his way back into power with a new identity, Perry-Kraye stole the Seven-Ten list in order to expose O.S. and destroy Andō and Ganymede. He also reveals that the Mitsubishi set-sets were originally developed to interface with the Canner Device as an alternative assassination system, before they were scattered by the Cousins and reunited by Andō and Danaë.

Perry-Kraye drags Ganymede out a window, but Sniper catches them. Perry-Kraye had lured Sniper there and ordered O.S. to assassinate the next target, falling into Papa's trap. As the world leaders and Mycroft are caught together on Sniper's ever-present cameras, the scandal of Madame's is revealed to the world.

A car crash victim's bash' destroys the backup transit system. Ockham, now Prospero, passes the leadership of O.S. to Sniper.

March the twenty-ninth

Martin Guildbreaker and Papadelias arrive to arrest the Saneer-Weeksbooths, but Sniper, Lesley, Sydney, and one of the Typers have fled. Thisbe and Croucher tell Papa about Bridger. He sees the similarities and realizes that Saladin is alive.

Carlyle goes to J.E.D.D. Mason's house and they discuss the latter's guest-godhood. Cornel MASON and Mycroft discuss Apollo's secrets at their tomb. An ambush by Papadelias separates Bridger from the Major.

With Sniper's help, Tully Mojave orates from the Rostra in Romanova. J.E.D.D. Mason interrupts and begins to give a report to the world. He is assassinated by Sniper, who declares that J.E.D.D. Mason posed a threat to the Hive system. Sniper escapes. Bridger appears and resurrects J.E.D.D. Mason before disappearing again.

Mycroft presents seven scenes, of the titular seven surrenders:

In the hospital, Papa updates Mycroft on the coups and informs him he is the new Anonymous. Julia Doria-Pamphilli was nearly killed. Sniper turned out to be one of Bridger's animated dolls. Dominic Seneschal is hospitalized after chasing and killing it. Cornel MASON and Madame discuss her motivations and end their relationship. J.E.D.D. Mason, having realized that death does not destroy each person's potential universe, declares that he will accept the powers given to him, orders Mycroft to kill Sniper, and decides to publish the truth about all that has occurred so everyone can make informed choices about which side of the war to join.

Mycroft finds a distraught Bridger hiding in the Sniper Doll Museum. Bridger puts on the uniform of a World War II soldier and transforms himself into the Major, who is revealed to be the legendary hero Achilles. Mycroft and Achilles mourn the loss of Bridger, then begin to plan for the war to come.

Der Runenberg

A melancholic hunter named Christian meets a stranger in the mountains. The stranger accompanies Christian for a while, and Christians tells him about his background - Christian's father, a gardener in a castle, is disappointed with him, because his son does not share the same interests as him, but rather is guided by his longing for the mountains and nature. Christian eventually leaves home and learns how to hunt from an old forester.

After a while Christian and the stranger part ways. On the advice of the stranger, Christian climbs the "Runenberg", doubtful and afraid but inquisitive. After a while he finds a window and peers through it; he sees a singing woman undressing. The naked woman hangs him a strange tablet with signs drawn on it, set with precious stones. Christian falls asleep.

When he wakes up, he can only vaguely remember what has happened and convinces himself it was a dream. A short time later he arrives in a small village and is relieved to finally be amongst people again. At the village church he meets his future wife, the beautiful Elisabeth. In order to be near to Elisabeth he takes a job as a gardener with her father.

Christian is a hard worker, and 6 months later he marries Elisabeth. The couple are very happy together and soon start a family. After a long time, Christian decides to visit his hometown. On the way, he meets his father at the foot of the fateful Runenberg. He tells Christian that after his mother died, he became very lonely and thus decided to try to find his son. The two return to Christian's house and the father becomes part of the family. They live happily oncemore. One day a stranger comes to the village and stays at Christian's house. A year passes, and the money becomes Christian's. He increasingly suffers from paranoia - the money has corrupted him, according to his father. He wanders aimlessly until he meets an old woman in the forest. She gives him back the missing tablet, which completely captivates him.

Christian disappears down a mineshaft and is presumed dead. After many years he returns to his family, who hardly recognise him. In the meantime, his father and parents-in-law have died. When the junior officer leaves and he continues to get hit by more skins he goes to source the problem. He confronts the man, whio hands him a banana and walks off with the policeman following. A chase begins.

A second policeman joins as the man zigzags through the park. He poses with a statuary group to avoid being seen. He finds a man dressed similarly and tells him to run as there is a mad dog. The police run after the wrong man.

Outside the park a woman (Lydia) drops her handbag. He picks it up and taps her on the shoulder. When she turns her ugly face makes him faint.

Back in the park a pretty girl is feeding the ducks from a bench. Lydia goes into the park and sits on the other end of the bench to read a magazine. They chat and it is made clear that they live in the same apartment block. Lydia gives the younger girl a calling card.

The Toff bumps into a man as they meet on a corner. A nearby accident hurls the girl's small case which hits the man and he thinks it was the Toff (who is holding a stone). The man punches him to the ground. He looks inside the case and finds various make-up items all of which he eats. He particularly enjoys the powder puff. Walking with the little case two men ridicule him for looking effeminate. The girl catches up and asks for her case and he returns it. She gives him a calling card... but it is Lydia's.

The Toff does not realise that the girl has gone and he takes the policeman's arm and they go for a stroll. When they encounter a second policeman the Toff holds back, without seeing whose arm he has. He says "there is a certain cop I want to avoid". Eventually seeing him he runs off, again with various devices to stop being seen but is caught. The cop calls for the paddy wagon on a street phone but the Toff says he is hungry and wants to go to the nearby Sip and Bit Cafe. The policeman goes in to get him a sandwich. He takes the opportunity to use the phone to cancel the paddy wagon.

A different policeman arrives who saw him using the police phone. He walks briskly off with the new policeman matching his stride. The tempo increases until they are running. He escapes and uses a phone to call Miss Lydia. Her maid answers and passes the phone to Lydia. The Toff calls her "sweet angel face" and asks if he can visit. When he arrives the maid answers the door. He sits on a sofa but when Lydia arrives he does not look and just repeatedly nudges her in a playful manner. When he eventually looks his hat flies off. He asks her to play hide and seek and blindfolds her. He climbs in the dumb waiter and it descends to the apartment of the girl he thought he was visiting. At first he does not see her and tries to creep out. She spots him and asks where he came from. He asks for a carnation from her vase.

Meanwhile, Lydia is still counting. She faints soon after reaching one million.

The toff spots a policeman's cap in the girl's flat and decides to leave - just as the policeman returns. He hides behind a screen but does not realise he is visible in a mirror to the side. They walk up and down in tandem and it turns into a dance and then a circular chase. He escapes via the fire escape and finds white overalls to dress as a decorator but the policeman spots the change. But when he gets closer and hits him it is a black man in white overalls. Another chase begins joined by a second policeman. He hides in a blanket striped with black paint which transforms his overalls into a typical prison uniform. He hides behind a fence but is rammed by sheep and pushed through, where three policemen now wait. He runs into a tall gate and closes it, but it is the penitentiary.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3

After a victorious battle against an Agnian colony, Kevesi soldiers Noah, Lanz, and Eunie, and their Nopon support, Riku, are given a special mission to intercept a mysterious airship. However, when they reach the area, they also encounter Agnian forces, sparking a battle. During the fight, the airship is shot down and Noah and his team arrive at the crash site at the same time as an Agnian squad consisting of Mio, Sena, and Taion, and their Nopon support, Manana. As they battle, the airship's sole survivor, Guernica Vandham, intervenes and stops the fighting, claiming he knows their "true enemy". However, he is shot by the Consul D, who is a powerful being known as a Moebius and part of an organization of the same name that controls the war between Keves and Agnus. D then attacks Noah and Mio's teams and quickly gains the upper hand until Guernica activates the Ouroboros Stone he was smuggling, imbuing Noah and Mio's teams with its power. Noah and Mio then inadvertently Interlink together into an Ouroboros, which D explains is the natural enemy of Moebius. D is forced to retreat, and a mortally wounded Guernica instructs the party to head for the "City" at Swordmarch, where they can find answers. Mio reveals that she is near the end of her tenth term and has just three months left to live.

Realizing that the Consuls have ordered both Keves and Agnus to hunt them down, Noah and Mio's teams are forced to band together into a single party and start making their way to Swordmarch. Along the way, they pass Colony 4, whose soldiers have been brainwashed by Consul K into attacking them. Realizing that the colony's Flame Clock allows the Consul to extract life energy of the colony and continue indefinitely regenerating, Noah destroys it with a sword called "Lucky Seven" given to him by Riku, hidden inside his normal blade, and the entire party manages to Interlink into their Ouroboros forms to kill K. Colony 4's leader, Ethel, thanks them for freeing them from the Consuls' control. Continuing their journey to Swordmarch, the party also liberates Colony Lambda from Consul J, but are shocked to discover J is actually Joran, one of Noah's old teammates who was thought killed in an Agnian raid years prior. J retreats while taunting the party. Meanwhile, Consul N concocts a plan by forcing Ethel to team up with her Agnian rival, Cammuravi, to hunt down the party. The party finds out about this and Noah resolves to infiltrate Keves Castle and destroy its Annihilator, which the Kevesi Queen is using to hold Colony 4 hostage.

As the party makes their way to Keves Castle, Ethel and Cammuravi intercept them in custom Ferronis' that drain their life force. However, the party's coordination proves to be an even match for them, and when the Consuls O and P attempt to mind control Cammuravi, he tears his left eye out to counter it. Desiring freedom from the Consuls, Ethel and Cammuravi decide to duel each other instead, resulting in their mutual deaths. Enraged at their insults at Ethel and Cammuravi's deaths, the party kills O and P. They then proceed on towards the Annihilator and destroy it, defeating D and J in the process. As they try to leave the castle, they inadvertently enter the throne room, and discover the soldiers of both Keves and Agnus are actually clones forced to fight each other. They are then confronted by N and the Queen, Melia Antiqua. The party is forced to battle Melia, who turns out to be a robot posing as her. Before N can join the battle, a faction called the Lost Numbers attack the castle, stealing a number of cloning pods, and giving the party the opening to escape. It is then revealed that N is Noah, and his partner, M, is Mio — although the nature of their existence and similarity to the Noah and Mio that the player controls is yet unknown.

After escaping the castle, the party encounters the Lost Numbers, who are led by Guernica Vandham's daughter Monica. Monica leads them to the City, which is populated by humans with regular lifespans who oppose the Moebius as well. Monica explains that they are descendants of the first group of Ouroboros, which is what allows them to live free from Moebius. She also explains that the war between Keves and Agnus is orchestrated by Moebius so they can harvest the life energy from the bloodshed, and then replace the losses with clones to repeat the cycle. The Lost Numbers have been trying to resist by stealing Moebius' birthing pods, denying them the ability to replenish Keves and Agnus' ranks. The real Queens of Keves and Agnus created the Ouroboros before going into hiding, and only six Ouroboros can exist at a time. Monica then tasks the party to go to the prison underneath Agnus Castle and rescue a soldier named Ghondor, who is revealed to be Monica’s daughter and knows the location of the Queens.

After several days of planning, Ghondor, the party, and several other prisoners attempt their escape from the prison underneath Agnus Castle only to be caught by N and M the moment they leave the prison grounds. To N's surprise, M states that she wants to "take care of this herself", stepping forward to fight the party. Suddenly, a purple pulse appears from M and time seems to stop as M and Mio make eye contact. M sheds a single tear for reasons unknown, as Mio seems to share a look of shock. As the purple pulse fades, the moment is cut short by Noah stepping in front of Mio to defend her. The battle with M then begins, and it is revealed that M is able to "possess" the party members by transferring her mind into theirs, leaving her own body unattended and vulnerable to attack. During this state, the possessed party member will attack the other party members until M re-enters her own body.

After the party successfully defeats M, N decides to spare Noah and the party and capture them, in order to force them to watch as the upcoming Homecoming ceremony is performed on Mio. The party is then taken prisoner in Agnus Castle to await Mio's death. Mio is placed in a separate cell from the others, in order to further torture their wait. During this period of imprisonment, lasting a month, the party reflects on their time together, their feelings of purposelessness, the futile nature of their world, and the futility of their actions. During a tender moment, Mio expresses to Noah from her solitary cell that after all this, she is happy to live her last days with "her Noah". On Mio's final day, after a month of imprisonment, the party is brought before the fake Queen Nia for their execution. Noah is forced to watch Mio expire before being executed then himself. N stands above a kneeling Noah, raises a sword above his neck, and forcefully brings it downward.

Suddenly, Noah witnesses memories of his past lives, in each of which he tried but failed to defeat Moebius and save Mio alongside other Ouroboros. In one of those past lives, Noah and Mio had a child together, which would later go on to found the City. During each of these lifetimes, he was approached by a mysterious character named Z and told to yield. In one particular lifetime, he was tempted by Z with the promise of being able to live eternally with Mio as Moebius, under the condition that he genocide the inhabitants of the City, his own descendants. This Noah and his Mio were the origins of N and M. Despite seeing these visions of his past lives, Noah resolves not to make the same choice as N and returns to reality. Noah then opens his eyes, still kneeling underneath N's sword. However, it is revealed that N stopped short of killing Noah because M had entered his body at the last moment in order to show Noah all of his past memories. Noah opening his eyes meant M had returned to her own body. N, sensing suspicion at M's actions, stares confusedly and fearfully as M walks up to Noah, offers her hand, returns his flute, and asks if he still wants to "walk beside" her. Noah asks if M is Mio, and M nods, smiling. N then realizes that M had switched her mind with Mio during the prison escape, so that M could take Mio's place in death in order to "escape" her relationship with N, meaning that the Mio that fought M, was captured, imprisoned, and ultimately died, was actually M, while Mio was occupying M's body. Regrouping, Noah manages to draw the Sword of the End and uses it to defeat N and X and destroy the robotic Queen of Agnus, Nia. Mio, having inherited M's memories, reveals that she and Noah are manifestations of N and M's guilt, seeking repentance for joining Moebius.

Using M's memories, Mio leads the party to the Cloudkeep, where the real Nia sleeps. D and J ambush them, but J has a change of heart and sacrifices himself to kill D. Nia awakens, and explains that in the past, the worlds of ''Xenoblade Chronicles'' and ''Xenoblade Chronicles 2'' were in parallel universes after being split in two, but would inevitably merge back together, destroying all life on both planets in the process. In order to avoid this, Nia and Melia collaborated across the two universes to create Origin, which would act as an ark to store all the data and memories of both worlds and then rebuild them once the universes merged. However, Z captured Melia and hijacked Origin for his own ends, creating the current world where Moebius feeds off endless warfare. With Nia's knowledge, the party storms Origin, defeating N and freeing Melia. They then confront Z himself, who is a manifestation of humanity's fear of the future and desire to stay in the now from the data inside Origin. At the climax of the final battle, N and M, who remained spiritually inside Noah and Mio, return in spirit form and sacrifice themselves to destroy Z for good.

With Origin reactivated, Noah and the party decide to proceed with the reconstruction process for both worlds. However, this would require the people of Keves and Agnus being separated and returned to their respective worlds. Noah, Lanz, and Eunie say their farewells with Mio, Sena, and Taion, while Mio and Noah share a kiss with each other before the worlds separate, but promise to find a way to reunite one day. Melia looks fondly upon Shulk's Monado REX while Nia reunites with Poppi and looks upon a picture of her with her friends.

In a post-credits scene, right after both universes have been merged and rebuilt, Noah, Lanz, Eunie, and Joran are reincarnated in their world. As they head for a fireworks show, Noah hears the sound of Mio's flute playing and decides to follow the music. As doves fly by, Noah vanishes from the world.

Draft:Requisition VR

It takes place in the foggy fictional town Autumn, Nevermont, somewhere in the USA. An unknown virus has struck, causing the sky to turn yellow and biomass clusters stuck to houses.

In the summer of 2022, something strange happened. For several months, local residents have observed lights over the closed part of the town called Zone 154. On several occasions, people have heard frightening and loud noises coming from the Daisy Creek nuclear power plant built by a large technology corporation N-Core and seen flashes of lightning above it. Later the people of Autum found that all the streets were covered with a thin layer of orange pollen of unknown origin. This pollen has a strange effect on physical and mental health for all who have contact with it. The strangest thing is that cellular and radio communications stopped working for some time after the appearance of pollen. Journalist investigations connected this with toxic waste allegedly dumped from a nuclear power plant into the Khon River. There was no evidence for this. The press service of N-Core denied any connection between the fog and the company's activities and the nuclear power plant.

On September 2, 2022, an explosion occurred in the territory of Zone 154. However, some eyewitnesses claimed that it was not just an explosion but an object like an asteroid that fell from the sky. At the same time, another incident occurred with a rumble at the nuclear power plant. The weather was terrible that day - the whole sky was covered with thunderclouds, and it started to rain in the evening. However, this rain had an unnatural orange color, and the clouds soon acquired the same color. The emergency alert system announced a statewide environmental emergency, a curfew, and a requirement for residents to stay in their homes and, in no case, go out in the rain without protection. It rained all night, and on the morning of September 3, the people of Nevermont woke up in a completely different state.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes

The game takes place on the continent of Fódlan in an alternative timeline to that of ''Fire Emblem: Three Houses''. In the tradition of ''Three Houses'', the game has three unique storylines: Scarlet Blaze, Azure Gleam, and Golden Wildfire, each following one of the three house leaders. It diverges from the storyline of its predecessor game in that Byleth, the playable character of ''Fire Emblem: Three Houses'', serves as an antagonist. ''Three Hopes'' introduces several new characters to fight alongside the cast of ''Three Houses'', including Shez, a mercenary Byleth previously encountered, and Arval, a mysterious white-robed being who opposes Sothis in the game's cover art.

Synopsis

The mercenary Shez is defeated in battle by the Ashen Demon Byleth, vessel of the progenitor god Sothis, and their father Jeralt; Shez only survives due to the intervention of a mysterious being named Arval and swears revenge. Six months later, Shez rescues three nobles from a bandit attack: Edelgard von Hresvelg, princess of the Adrestian Empire, Dimitri Alexandre Blaiddyd, prince of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus, and Claude von Riegan, heir to the leading house of the Leicester Alliance. As a reward, Archbishop Rhea of the Church of Seiros allows Shez to enroll in the Officer's Academy, an elite military academy for Fódlan's brightest students. Shez and their classmates rescue Monica, a former student who was abducted by "those who slither in the dark", a fanatical cult who seeks to conquer Fódlan. Afterwards, the three lords are forced to depart the Academy when crisis strikes their homelands. Edelgard launches a coup to overthrow Thales, the leader of those who slither in the dark who has taken effective control of the Empire; Dimitri suppresses a coup launched by his uncle and regent Rufus; and Claude defends Leicester's eastern border from an invasion by Shahid, an avaricious prince of the eastern kingdom of Almyra and Claude's half-brother. Shez accompanies their chosen lord and remains in their service for the next two years. All three lords are crowned leaders of their respective countries. Two years later, Edelgard declares war on the Church of Seiros, believing it to be corrupt.

;Scarlet Blaze Edelgard and her forces claim Garreg Mach for the Empire, forcing the Church of Seiros to seek aid from the Kingdom. The Empire manages to hold back troops from the Kingdom and Alliance to secure key locations in the west and east. Months later, Edelgard and Claude form a pact for the Empire and Alliance to work together to defeat the Kingdom and Church of Seiros. As their forces begin to surround the Kingdom, many Adrestrian territories are suddenly attacked by "those who slither in the dark" and a revolt led by Duke Aegir. Edelgard's army slays Duke Aegir and contains most of the chaos before advancing back to the Kingdom. While the Empire and Alliance fight the Kingdom and Church of Seiros in the north, Rhea uses a secret passage and leads her soldiers to reclaim Garreg Mach, which is also approached by Thales and "those who slither in the dark". Edelgard's forces manages to hold back both armies until Rhea and Thales seemingly kill each other. With their absences, the influence of the Central Church wanes and "those who slither in the dark" vanish.

There are two endings to this route that are determined by Shez deciding to recruit or kill Jeralt and Byleth. If they recruit them, then the Empire and Alliance will prepare for their final battle with the Kingdom to end the war. If they kill Jeralt, Byleth joins Claude and encourages him to break the pact with the Empire during the battle with the Kingdom and Church in the north. Claude dies in battle, which causes all three ruling powers of Fódlan to return to war against each other with no end in sight.

;Azure Gleam Dimitri chooses to provide asylum to the Church of Seiros and go to war against the Empire. As they attempt to reclaim western territories, they face a revolt from the traitorous former royal family mage Cornelia and the western lords. After they defeat her, Cornelia tells Dimitri that his stepmother, Edelgard's mother, was involved in the Tragedy of Duscur and encourages him to seek answers from Edelgard before dying. The Kingdom and the Empire face off in Arianhrod, with the Kingdom emerging victorious. Before Dimitri can kill Edelgard, Thales appears and attacks both of them. Edelgard reveals that he was responsible for the death of Dimitri's father before he uses his magic to subdue and put her under his control. With the Empire becoming more chaotic under Thales and Duke Aegir's leadership, Claude and Dimitri form a partnership so the combined forces of Leicester, Faerghus, and the Church of Seiros can take down Adrestia. After splitting up the Empire's western and eastern forces, Dimitri and his army successfully kill Duke Aegir and Thales and free Edelgard from the mind control. This forces Adrestria back on all fronts and radically transforms the power structure throughout Fódlan as the allied forces press south to crush the Empire for good.

;Golden Wildfire Claude initially opposes Edelgard in defense of Leicester. However, an attempt to counterinvade the Empire is interrupted when Shahid launches another attack on the Alliance, forcing Claude to break his momentum against Adrestia to repel and kill Shahid. Claude negotiates a ceasefire with Edelgard. Four months later, the Alliance is reformed as the Leicester Federation, with Claude as its first king. Claude, who agrees with Edelgard's belief that Rhea is stagnating Fódlan, sets out to kill Rhea and cripple the Church's military and political power. Claude drives Dimitri to the capital of Faerghus, but is forced to back down when those who slither in the dark incite civil unrest in Leicester. The Empire and Federation defeat the Kingdom and Church in battle. Dimitri abandons the Church to protect Faerghus, allowing Claude and Shez to battle and kill Rhea. With his goal complete, Claude proposes an end to the war, although it is uncertain whether his words will be heeded.

In all three routes, Byleth and Jeralt are hired by factions opposed to Shez and hinder them throughout the war. If Shez ultimately kills Jeralt in battle, Byleth swears revenge and sacrifices their mortal body to Sothis. Sothis attacks Shez, but she and Byleth are killed in the ensuing battle. If Shez convinces Byleth and Jeralt to surrender, the two are hired by Shez's faction. Shortly before the final battle, Arval possesses Shez and attempts to kill Byleth; when that fails, they banish Shez, Edelgard, Dimitri, and Claude to another dimension. Arval reveals their true identity to be Epimenides, a being bent on killing Sothis and conquering Fódlan for those who slither in the dark. Shez and the three lords kill Epimenides and return to their world to continue the war.
