i reached to turn off the VCR, but it stopped
and began rewinding before my hand had reached
its target.  "Automatic," she said.

Hopped into her car, she told me to drive.
The garage door was still closed.  No.

"Automatic," she said.

I started the engine, couldn't find the clutch.
"Automatic," she said.

We cruised down the driveway, and I jumped as
the locks popped closed.  She returned her hand
to her lap.  "Automatic," she said.

We pulled up outside the graveyard.
It looked just like the movie.

She led me through it to an empty grave, stood
behind me.  I felt a shove.

"Automatic," she said.
